September Favourites ’19

How are we now in October? My favourite month whizzed by so damn quickly and I didn’t get much chance to see or enjoy it. I did really love September though, it was a month of going out and doing things, as well as staying in and spending time with Dane, which I’ve really loved.

September was also a bit meh and I received some crappy news, including the Japanese language course I enrolled to being cancelled last minute (I got my money back FYI), I found out I can’t get anything to help with my anxiety on flights and I found out I have the first potential signs of cavities in my teeth. People who know me know how much I love my teeth. I’m using some special toothpaste now that may help to reverse this and I really hope it does.

So yeah… September wasn’t the best, sadly. 😦

I’m glad we’re in October now as I’m excited for so many things this month! Halloween, the Pokemon Center having a pop up shop in London, a week off with Dane and even some days off to relax. It’ll be a lovely month to chill and start enjoying autumn.

Anyhoo, enough of me rambling, here are my favourites from September!

  • Philosophy Amazing Grace Eau de Toilette.

I love this EDT so much from Philosophy and I’ve owned it for what feels like forever! My mom gifted me this whilst I still lived at home as she received it in a set and didn’t want to use it herself. It’s a gorgeous soft scent and isn’t like anything else I own. I use this daily for work as it’s my go to right now, but once a week I’ll change it up for something else. It’s just perfect and the scent isn’t too strong either so if I don’t want anything heavy, this perfect.

  • LISTERINE® Total Care Mouthwash.

Since my dentist breaking the news about my teeth that I mentioned earlier, I was recommended to mouthwash after meals, which I do after every meal right now. If I don’t, I used chewing gum instead. I bought some little miniature bottles so that I could carry these around, take to work and even think about taking on holiday in the future. I also have some Colgate mouthwash too, but I love the LISTERINE one more! I plan to pick up a big bottle of this in the future and I can fill up the little bottles. This mouthwash really does leave my mouth feeling clean and fresh, which I love! The Colgate one doesn’t do that.

  • Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream.

I’ve owned this since the start of 2019, as I planned to use it loads to help my cuticles go lovely and soft. However, it was only from the start of September that I began to use it properly! When I cut my nails and paint them, I decide to use it all over my hands, as well as my cuticles to help my eczema. It’s been really bad lately with the change of weather but the cuticle cream really is helping. 🙂 It smells gorgeous too!

  • Tangle Teezer Aqua Splash.

I picked this up towards the end of September and it’s by far one of the best things I have bought in 2019! I love the Tangle Teezer brushes and discovered them last year and since then I am so grateful that I finally gave them a go. I decided I wanted to give the wet version a go, but I wanted to try and pick up the old version as it looked good. Since buying this drying my hair after washing it has already become so much easier! When I brush my hair in the shower after washing, I feel like I’m brushing away loads of excess water, as well as smoothing is ready to be brushed and dried after. It really is a pleasure to use! I picked mine up from TK Maxx for £7.99, which I thought was a decent price.

  • Yankee Candle Snowflake Cookie.

This was a brand new candle at the start of September, one that Dane had bought me years before and that I have only just started to burn! I love burning candles, especially during the colder months so when September started, I knew I had to start getting my candles going again! I decided to start burning Snowflake Cookie as it was one of the few large Yankee Candle jars that just appealed to me. Christmas scents from Yankee Candle are my favourite, so I make sure to burn them all year around!

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – 13 Reasons Why Season 3.

I binge watched this at the end of the month (mostly as I worked through my October newsletter, this post and even my October wish list post) and I LOVED it so much. I worried that this would make me think, “Oh God they’ve ruined it even more!” after how bad season 2 was. To be fair, nothing could top season 1… So when season 2 came out I wasn’t expecting much. It felt like they were constantly bashing Hannah and it was boring. However, season 3 has really brought it back and I loved it! I don’t want to talk too much about it in case of spoilers, but something has happened to Bryce and everyone is trying to find out what and how, all whilst trying to keep their shit together. It’s crazy! The show (as it does) covers a lot of serious topics that are good to be spoken about and it’s good. If you’re yet to watch season 3, then get to it! If you’ve never watched 13 Reasons Why then I recommend it, but be careful if you have mental health issues like I do. Season 1 was good, but some of the topics were upsetting, especially as suicide is a massive factor.

Favourite Movie – Detective Pikachu.

I know this was mentioned on my monthly favourites back in May but I have to mention it again 4 months later as this film is now out and I made sure to pre-order it ready for when it came out. The day it came out me and Dane played games instead of watching, but the day after I cooked us a yummy dinner and we sat down to watch the movie as we chilled out. It was just as good as I remember it being in the cinema and we even watched all the extras too, which were decent but sadly not as good as I feel they could have been. I don’t know about you guys, but I don’t feel that extras and behind the scenes stuff on DVD’s/Blu-rays are as good as they used to be…

Favourite Book – Erm…

Yeah I didn’t read throughout September. Which sucks to be fair. I read so much in August and then September came and I read sweet FA. I either didn’t have time due to busy, or I didn’t want to as I was playing games instead. I’m terrible for reading manga these days and due to that I do feel sad. I still have Elfen Lied to start reading again, as well as catching up with Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid and Himouto! Umaru-chan. I know I’ll catch up with reading… I honestly will! I’d take manga to work but I like to play Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp and do blog work on my break.

Favourite Album – My Chemical Romance – The Black Parade.

I loved this album back in the day when it came out and I remember buying it from HMV as I had some gift vouchers I needed to use. I loved it and listened to it all the time… Even if my friends at the time hated it. I made some friends through this band, one of them who is now my best friend. One of the best live performances I’ve seen was MCR when they toured for this album. They played the set in the order of the album, it was amazing and I adored it. I’ve started using Spotify at work so I have my music on that I want to listen to, without annoying YouTube adverts coming up every 5 minutes. So I decided to add loads of my favourite albums, including this one. This album just has so many memories behind it and I love it.

Favourite Game – Borderlands 3 and Untitled Goose Game.

I couldn’t just mention one of the other of these games this month. Both deserved a spot on here!

First of all, I LOVE the gif I chose to use for Borderlands 3 because these two characters (Zane and Amara) are the two that me and Dane play when we play together. The day the game came out, me and Dane both booked it off so we could play together and relax. It was awesome! The whole weekend we pretty much played this game nonstop! This has got to be the first time I have played a first person shooter game without dying constantly (like seriously every 5 minutes!) and rage quitting. I love this game, it’s hilarious and fun to play with people. I’ve not been playing it much the past week as I’ve been busy chilling out, or playing other games instead. I never played the previous 2 Borderlands games but that doesn’t matter anyway! Honestly, go and pick this game up. 🙂

I wrote in September how excited I was for certain games to come out (which you can read here), with Untitled Goose Game being number one on that list, as it was coming out the soonest. I got home from work and downloaded it to play. Everyone was mad for this game when it came out and so was I! Both me and Dane played this game together and it was absolutely hilarious to play! We still have some bonus stuff to do, even after “completing” the game, which is proving to be so much fun. Honestly, if you own a Nintendo Switch or a Steam account, definitely download and play. Some people said to me that they don’t see what’s the point of this game before it came out. Those people clearly don’t know how to open their minds to new things. 😛

So those are all my favourites for September! September did indeed go by in a blur and I can’t believe we’re in October now. Before we know it, it’ll be December and Christmas will be upon us. It’s crazy!

How were your September’s for you? What were your favourites throughout the month and overall how was it? Please let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re having a lovely week so far!

October Favourites 2015

I can’t believe it is now November! It only feels like yesterday when I started my masters, and that was well over a year ago now. I graduate the end of this month, and I have another holiday to look forward to with my dad. I have now began to notice it’s feeling colder now, and it’s time to wrap up in my winter coat. I cannot wait to team it up with my Dr Martens.

But for now, I am talking about my favourite from October. It was really hard finding five products to talk about this month to be honest, but after much thought I finally found them, and here they are.

  • The Body Shop Sweet Lemon Sugar Body Scrub.

After using up both of my most recent Lush body scrubs (Rub Rub Rub review and Ocean Salt review) I decided it was time to pick something new up. Whilst having a look around The Body Shop at their sale (as well as some present ideas for my boyfriend) I noticed that some of their previous summer range was in the sale, both Sweet Lemon and Vineyard Peach. So I picked up both of the scrubs, out of the two mind this one is proving to be the better of the two. After using it my skin feels silky soft and smelling delicious! I really wish this was a permanent product though! I’ll be making sure to try their other sugar body scrubs out in the future.

  • Philosophy Sugar Plum Fairy Shampoo, Shower Gel, and Bubble Bath.

I’ve owned this stuff since Christmas 2012 but I’ve only just opened it as I wanted to save it for Christmas, or even for summertime. It’s a gorgeous scented multi-purpose product from Philosophy which is a real treat. I’ve been using it mostly as a bubble bath for evenings when I really want a nice hot bath, but I don’t wish to use my Lush products. It leaves a nice gentle scent on the skin and a little bit of shimmer. It’s perfect for Christmas, and was a limited edition for Christmas too. I don’t actually think you can buy this anymore, which is a shame as I love it so damn much! If you can get your hands on this, I recommend it! You can check out my review from back when my blog first came to be!

  • Reese’s Lip Balm.

I didn’t think I would love this lip balm as much as I actually do. It was an impulse buy when me and my boyfriend popped into Primark about a month ago. I don’t even remember what we bought when we went there but alas, we were there. I spotted this on the till and for £1.50 my boyfriend picked one up for me. We love anything peanut butter flavoured, and as I LOVE Reese’s Pieces, he thought I would like this. It’s a petroleum jelly style lip balm that doesn’t just smell of the famous peanut butter cups, but even tastes of it! It’s not the most moisturising balm in the world, but it does the trick if I want to quickly apply something whilst on the go, before work, or even whilst I’m at home. I’m going to be buying some of these for people for Christmas, they’re just so amazing!

  • Philosophy Amazing Grace EDP.

Ooo two Philosophy products mentioned this month! This is one I got halfway through the month, and it’s one of my favourites out of the five this month. My mom picked this up on a special offer from QVC in a massive gift set, and kindly gave this perfume to me. Years ago I owned the Amazing Grace shower gel, and the body lotion. I used to use them both every day, and whenever I saw my gran she would always comment how lovely I smelt. So the scent always reminds me of her, so to finally own a perfume version of it is just a dream come true! I wore it loads the first week I got it, and as it’s a huge 125ml bottle, it will definitely last me ages! I recommend the Philosophy perfumes if you fancy trying something new, especially as the grace scents are really gentle and soft. Perfect for daytime wear.

  • Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in Masochist.

This is by far my favourite product this month, so I’ve made sure to save the best until last. I am due to review this at some point this week, if not next week! But I have worn this quite a lot throughout October and without giving too much away, it is by far one of the best lipsticks I have ever bought. MAC is my favourite for lipsticks, don’t get me wrong they won’t ever be replaced but Jeffree is a really close second. They last ages, the shades are out of the world (especially the new Christmas ones due for release on Friday!), and they are just amazing. I cannot wait to own more, I really can’t. I don’t want to say too much on here as my review will explain it all.

So, those were my favourites from October. To think there is only one more monthly favourites post left, and then I’ll have my 2015 favourites up on my blog. It’s been such a fast paced year and before we know it, it’ll be 2016 and I’ll be turning 26. OH WOE!

What have been your favourites for October? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

Until next time, take care all and hope you had a great weekend.

November Favourites

DSC_0416

I’ve said it every month and I’ll say it for the last time for 2013, I can’t believe where the months have gone and how we’ve got to December so quickly.

I guess since May I’ve had lots of fun as they say time goes fast when you’re having fun! This being said I’m somewhat glad to see 2013 soon coming to an end, as I just want 2014 to come along now to create some new resolutions as well as some happy memories, as although this year has brought some amazing people as well as memories into my life, it also had some crappy moments.

This being said, November was a mix and match of stressed and even more stressed, but that was mostly down to NaNoWriMo. Other than that, I managed to find some time to have myself some favourites, so as I do every month, I thought I’d share them with you!

DSC_0417

  • Superdrug Aqueous Cream.

Throughout November I suffered really badly with my eczema to the point it was bringing me a lot of discomfort. My boyfriend is quite knowledgeable about things like this and was able to help and buy me some creams and ointments that would help my eczema alongside my steroid cream from my doctor. One of these was my aqueous cream and this stuff is amazing! From memory it was £2 for this tub and it’s a huge 500ml tub! I use this alongside my steroid cream as well as after I wash my hands and if my hands are feeling a little dry. Plus a little of this goes a long way so this tub will last me ages!

  • Dettol with E45 in Honey Nourishing Hand Wash.

I’d seen this hand wash for sale in Asda for a couple of weeks and this is a fairly new product to come out in the shops during November. I’d been after a hand wash by E45 but they only had cream versions of hand wash, which I already have from my doctor so when they brought this out I was keen to get my hands on it. NOW I KNOW that I have said in the past how all sorts of hand washes have been amazing but this one is just wonderful and perfect. This leaves my hands feeling lovely and soft, smells amazing, as well as protecting them from germs. This is all I look for in a hand wash and I already know I’ll be re-purchasing this. Thank you Dettol and E45 for teaming up to create this product!

  • N Spa Lime Hair & Body Wash.

I swear to God, this stuff is amazing! I spotted this in Asda (Asda again!) and had a sniff of it to see if it was nice, was it nice? Hell yeah! It’s very zesty and refreshing, something that is great all year around, especially in the mornings due to the zesty fragrance, it wakes you up. It’s a gorgeous neon green gel that can be used as a hair and a body wash. Personally I wouldn’t use this on my hair but so far I’ve used this as a shower gel as well as a bubble bath and it’s amazing! It leaves my skin feeling beautiful and soft as well as leaving it smells fresh and gorgeous! This is a definite must before I go to work if I’m feeling a bit glum and tired. I’ve heard there is a scrub to go with this too, which I really want!

DSC_0418

  • La Petite Robe Noire EDP by Guerlain.

This perfume was brought back off of my Mom’s holiday at the start of November. I’d asked if she could pick me up a new perfume over there as it would be cheap and it was either this one or Envy Me by Gucci. This  perfume is amazing and other than Alien and Envy Me this is pretty much all I’ve been wearing throughout November. It’s a very fruity, yet warm smell and it’s gorgeous for the late autumn and winter season. The smell of this actually reminds me of Lush’s Space Girl Bath Bomb! Is that weird? 😛 Either way this perfume lasts ages and as it’s a huge 100ml bottle it’s going to last me a while! I’ll soon be writing up a post about this as it’s just too good to NOT write about!

  • Nails Inc Nail Polish in South Molton Street.

I’ve had this nail polish for a while, well over a year and I really do love it. I have a back up bottle of this ready for when this one runs out and in all honesty it’s my most used nail polish ever, yes, ever! It’s a gorgeous French manicure pink and as it’s only light and a pretty natural shade of pink, I can wear it for work and it’ll make my nails look healthier than they already are. As well as that it just looks nice all the time. I need to really review this polish as even without a top coat this has lasted at work without chipping for nearly a week! That’s good if you ask me, seeing as I do all sorts at work that would probably chip most if not all polishes, with out without a top coat.

DSC_0422

  • Philosophy Lip Shine in Candy Cane.

I’ve owned this lip shine for a while now (review here) and I have used it on and off since then. I used it throughout November alongside my Viva Glam Nicki lipstick by MAC (review here) for work and they both looked beautiful together! As well as that I found that wearing this on its own for work was quiet nice and made a change to just a lip balm or a tinted lip gloss. It moisturises as well as tastes amazing and even plumps your lips due to the menthol that the Candy Cane leaves behind. There’s more about this on my review if you wish to know more. I love this though and I can see me using it loads over December due to Christmas time!

  • MAC Lipstick in Speak Louder.

Oh my God, this was by far one of my favourite things that I bought during November! I’m not going to talk too much about it here as I’m going to writing a review to be scheduled at some point this month, exciting eh? Anyhoo this lipstick is beautiful! It’s a cremesheen so it leaves the lips feeling creamy and moisturised as you wear the lipstick itself. I’ve been wearing this loads, for work, when popping to the shops, as well as when I see my boyfriend over the weekend. It’s amazing and will look great anytime of year. I’m so glad I finally have this lipstick, I can’t wait to review it!

  • Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Lip Balm.

This always seems to creep into my favourites when autumn and winter are upon us. My lips don’t get chapped too badly as I just smoother them in lip balm but when they do, this stuff usually saves my lips! This being said my lips are beautiful and soft at the moment and it’s thanks to this for keeping them that way. I have a tube of this at home by my bed as well as one in my handbag for when I’m out and about. As well as using this whenever my lips need some care, I always use this as a base for my MAC lipsticks, so since Speak Louder coming into my life, this has also made more of an appearance too. I love this stuff and the bonus fact that it smells of chocolate just makes me realise how much I love it after spring and summer.

So those were my monthly favourite! Which products did you enjoy during November? Let me know in the comments down below!

I hope everyone had an amazing November and here’s to a festive December!

Until next time take care all and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

8 Most Worn Things Tag

Happy Bank Holiday everyone! I hope everyone’s day is going well so far! I’ll be at work when this post is made live on my blog, but by the time I get home I’ll have met my boyfriend at work and be cooking us dinner and having some much-needed cuddle time after not seeing each other for over a week. Which believe you and me, has sucked!

But anyway, another week, another tag!

I really enjoy doing tags, they’re so enjoyable to read so even more enjoyable to join in on too.

After reading Maliberry’s 8 Most Worn Things on Friday I decided I would give it a go myself after she tagged anyone who read her post. Go and check out Mali’s blog, she’s a wonderful person and an amazing beauty blogger.

It was really hard to try and answer some of these tags as I couldn’t pick one item for the majority, but the more the merrier eh?

1. Most worn lipstick/gloss?

DSC_0002

Left: MAC Rebel.
Right: MAC Lickable.

I couldn’t pick one lipstick, no matter how hard I tried to pick between these two I just couldn’t decide. When it comes to autumn and winter I just use both on and off over the course of each week. These are my two favourite lipsticks and depending on what I’m wearing, where I’m going etc will depend with one I reach for to wear, whether it be day or night. FYI reviews for both of these are scheduled for this Thursday and next.

2. Most worn fragrance?

DSC_0004

Left: Freak by Illamasqua.
Right: Loverdose by Diesel.

Once again, I couldn’t pick one and I ended up having two choices for this question. These are both 30ml bottles so I usually throw these into my handbag whenever I’m going to work, a night out or over to my boyfriends for the weekend. The less I have to carry in my weekend bag when I stay over, the better! I love Freak, it smells like nothing I have ever smelt before and as soon as this bottle runs out I’ll be buying another one.

My Mom bought me Loverdose as a Christmas present years ago and I’m only coming towards the end of it now. I nearly bought a 50ml bottle when it was on offer in Boots, but I didn’t have enough money and had to leave it. As soon as I have spare cash I’ll be repurchasing it. It smells really unique too. Both these perfumes are great to use throughout the entire year whether it be day or night.

3. Most worn nail polish?

DSC_0005

Frilly Knickers by Butter London.

This is by far my favourite and most used since my Mom bought it me in May. It looks lovely on its own as well as applied over darker colours. It dries matte so I often use this over nail print designs so that they dry quickly and look nice at the same time. I love this polish so much, I’m going to paint my nails with it later today me thinks.

4. Most worn hair product?

DSC_0006

Left: Head & Shoulders Citrus Fresh.
Middle: Philosophy Summer Grace Shampoo, Bath & Shower Gel.
Right: Liz Earle Botanical Shine Conditioner.

I don’t really use products on my hair and whenever I have I’ve fast regretted it. I don’t use dry shampoo as it annoys me how it is pretty much talcum powder and gets everywhere! Plus I don’t really straighten my hair or design it in any way so I don’t really use gel or hair spray. I just wash my hair with Head & Shoulders to get any dirt and dandruff out, then wash with a nice shampoo, which is currently Summer Grace until I have money to buy some nice shampoo and finally my Liz Earle conditioner, which I love! It makes my hair so lovely and soft.

5. Most worn handbag?

DSC_0007

Front of tartan backpack from New Look.

DSC_0008

Back of tartan backpack from New Look.

I love this bag so much. It suites everything I wear and it’s such a huge bag that you can throw everything in it and still have room for more things. I remember buying it after a crap first day at my work experience at a well-known newspaper (which shall not be named…) and I wanted some retail therapy. This bag isn’t available anymore and at the time I had wanted this bag for months so I was glad to finally have it. I have thought about adding some studs onto the pockets on the front and along the straps too, but whether I do this or not, I’m unsure, we shall see. I definitely want to stick some badges on it… Think I’ll do that after I finish this post…

6. Most worn earrings?

… Okay I don’t have my ears pierced so I’m having to change this to:

6. Most worn jewellery?

DSC_0009

Closed red heart locket necklace.

DSC_0010

Open red heart locket necklace.

My Mom bought me this locket back in 2009/2010 and it’s one of the nicest things she could have bought me. It didn’t cost a lot but it’s the thought that counted. We were in Argos when she was buying herself something, she could see I was looking at the necklaces and said, “Nat you don’t have any proper jewellery do you?” to which I shook my head and she asked which necklace I would like, to which she bought me this locket. Still to this day I haven’t put any pictures inside of it and I don’t really have a reason why. Whenever I wear this I get such lovely compliments and it always makes me think of my Mom.

7. Most worn shoes?

DSC_0018

Brothel creepers from Shoe Zone.

DSC_0019

Triumph 12 Eyelet Leather Boots by Dr Martens.
Post about them here.

I’m sorry but I just couldn’t wear one pair of shoes, I just couldn’t! I wear a different pair all the time. I bought my Topshop flats at the start of 2012 but never started to wear them until spring this year. They’re the most wonderful shoes and I doubt I’ll wear them as much in the autumn and winter time.

My Vans skate shoes are the oldest shoes I own and I bought them when I was 16 years old, so they’re seven years old and still to this day they’re pretty much my favourite shoes. If I could wear them for work, my life would be complete! They’re just so damn comfortable and have never let me down during the winter time when it’s icy.

My creepers are great and out of all the pairs here were the cheapest. I don’t wear these as much as I used to but I know as autumn and winter comes along these will replace my flats. This my second pair of creepers as my first pair got massive holes in the bottoms.

Finally my Dr Martens. I’ve owned these over a year now and they’re also my favourite shoes. If you check out how they used to look when I first bought them, you’ll see how well-worn they’ve grown over the year. I’ve worn these in spring, summer, autumn, winter, to Stratford Upon Avon, to Coventry, to Wolverhampton, to Cheltenham and in pretty much every club in Birmingham. I love these boots so much and will wear them lots throughout autumn and winter.

8. Most worn shirt?

DSC_0012

Black poodle t-shirt by Altru.

DSC_0014

The Amazing Spider-Man sweatshirts both from Forever 21.

I actually have five shirts altogether but I cut out two from being in this post due to realising I don’t wear them all as much as I do with these three. I bought my poodle t-shirt back in 2009/2010 from Urban Outfitters during one of their sales. I wore it to university all the time and also on nights out. One afternoon it wasn’t traceable anywhere in the house and it upset me that I could have lost one of my favourite t-shirts. Two days later still with no luck of finding it I purchased another, only to arrive at home to my Mom saying, “Nat I found that t-shirt, it was inside a pillowcase!” but I never returned the second t-shirt so now I have two of them. That t-shirt is also slightly famous, it features on an advert that I’m in for the university that I attended, which is pretty cool.

I love Spider-Man and I have done from a young age and when I saw these in Forever 21 (on different occasions/years) I just had to try them on and buy them. The red one was the first I bought in 2012 and it was something I wore quite a lot throughout the winter months with a pair of baggy jeans during the day and shorts for nights out. I’ve worn it for bed before now too just because it’s so damn comfortable, as well as looks really nice with your hair down and some bed shorts. The grey one I bought a couple of months ago and while it was a silly thing to buy at the time due to the warm weather, I knew if I didn’t I would never see it again and I haven’t since, so it was a good idea to buy it. I wore it for the first time the weekend before last and it was so comfortable to wear with skinny jeans. I’m planning on wearing either one of these at work tomorrow, not sure which one…

So we have come to the end of my 8 most work things and thus the end of this tag.

I really enjoyed doing it and I tag ALL OF YOU to do it too!

Please link your blog down below if you do it, I’d love to see your answers to the questions.

Hope you enjoyed this post and I also hope your bank holiday is going well.

Until next time, take care all and have a great day!

January favourites

Okay I know this is 10 days late, I’m sorry about the lateness of this post, I’m never usually so late about getting these posts up on my blog. However the reason for this only being written up and posted now is due to how busy I’ve been with work. 5-6 days in a row and I’ll finally have a day off so I’ve not had much chance to take pictures and write the post up without falling to sleep or to be honest being too lazy and lethargic to do anything about it.

But the wait is over and finally, here are my favourites from January.

Blog 011

  • Love Diane EDP by Diane Von Furstenberg.

Bless my brother he bought me this for my 23rd birthday at the start of January and since then it’s all I’ve used pretty much. At first I was rather disappointed with this perfume as I would spray it and no scent would linger, but maybe this is due to me using stronger perfumes for a while beforehand. Who knows! Anyway I decided I would use this for a month at work and see how I got on and due to being at work so much this is all I’ve used for the majority. I’m under halfway through the bottle now, which is a shame as it’s a 50ml bottle too but it’s lovely and refreshing. I’ll be talking about this some more in an updated perfume collection post towards the end of February. This is all I use for work lately so I’m not entirely sure what I’ll be replacing it with when the bottle runs out! We’ll soon find out eh? The 30ml bottle retails for £28.99 whilst the 50ml bottles retails for £43.99.

  • Clinique dramatically different moisturizing gel.

I’ve noticed over the years that with the 3-Step products from Clinique that people either love or hate them. I can see why people love and hate this products, but I can safely say that I love the 3-Step system and have done since I was fourteen/fifteen. It was only last year when I decided to start the 3-Step again that I realised that maybe the lotion wasn’t for me, even though I am skin type 2. Whenever I put the lotion on it would sit on my skin all day and it would end up making me sweat due to it feeling too heavy on my skin, this ended up breaking me out more than I was in the first place. So upon talking to one of the lovely ladies at Clinique, she agreed that my skin was better suited to the gel, which is for skin types 3 and 4. Due to the cold weather and all the snow we’ve had lately this gel has been a saviour! My skin has been so dry on my nose and forehead that this has just been some sort of drink for my skin. I love it, it’s just a shame it runs out every 6 months, but so worth the money! The pump which I have costs £29.50 but a 50ml tube is £17.00. If you fancy trying this product but don’t want to pay a lot, ask one of the ladies at Clinique if you can nab a sample to try, is what I did when I first tried the gel!

  • Tesco moisturising bath bubbles.

For a while now I’ve been craving a bubble bath full of Johnson’s blue bubble bath, but for over £1 for a bottle I thought sod it and walked away. However this and the normal blue-bottle of Tesco’s baby bath bubbles took my eye, they were on offer for 2 for £2 so I couldn’t help but grab a bargain! After a long day at work and in Wolverhampton visiting two of my closest friends I decided to have a long bath with this and it felt amazing. This is really moisturising and my skin felt silky smooth afterwards. Not just that but it smells identical to Johnson’s, which of course is a plus side of it. As well as putting it in the bath I’ve been using it in the shower before work to comfort me somewhat. It’s lovely and makes my skin feel silky smooth all over again! I recommend this for mothers with babies for sure, as well as for anyone of any age, especially if you don’t get time to moisturise due to a busy schedule, like myself.

  • Carex strawberry laces handwash

I’ve been after this handwash for MONTHS after seeing people on their blogs and Instagram talking about it. There was also a chocolate orange one out (if I remember right anyway!) and that sounded delicious, but I couldn’t find that one when I looked. I was only wandering around for a mooch when I found this and snapped one up straight away. They were and are still only 90p each as they’re half price, but since using this I would for sure pay full price to have this by my sink. As I’ve mentioned many times, I have eczema but as well as that I also have sensitive skin, so as soon as my skin has got used to certain products it sometimes rejects them, my hands so this ALL the time. However they have got better and better since using this hand wash so I can only keep my fingers crossed it stays that way. As well as it killing germs and keeping my hands soft and smooth, it smells amazing! Having a cheeky sniff of it now as I type this up. If you can get hold of this and love sweet smells, do it! You won’t regret it!

  • Nivea sensitive pure gentle care 48h deodorant stick.

I sweat like no ones business, especially at work. Half the time you never stop, you’re always on your feet and keeping busy. It was getting so bad with my sweating that it was making me rather paranoid and anxious. I decided I needed change and my Lynx deodorant wasn’t working for me anymore, so it was used up and binned and off I went to try to find something better. A spray was out of the question, I’ve learnt over the past 10 years that they don’t work for me and I needed something else. Thanks to my Boots advantage card I had a voucher that gave me 1/2 price on women’s deodorant so I thought I’d try a roll on, one of the dry ones as I’ve had many bad and embarrassing experiences with the wet versions. After a month of use I can happily say that I don’t sweat as much as I used to and I really do put it down to this deodorant stick. It’s lasting well and it’s easier to pop into my handbag than a huge can of Lynx or Nivea spray. I recommend these to anyone who suffers with constant sweating, mines not happening as much as it was before and I’m glad. Never been happier and feel more relaxed now and for £2.50 it’s worth feeling that.

Blog 012

  • Philosophy purity 3-in-1 cleanser for face and eyes.

I received this back in the summer from Debenhams Beauty Club after entering a competition via their Facebook like page. I never really tried it until around Christmas time and I really love it. Due it only being a small tester it’s only used once in a blue moon, that being when I have a relaxing bath and I don’t wish to use my Clinique face wash. I put a little bit on my face brush and it really does go a long way. After scrubbing and rinsing off my face, my skin feels baby bum soft and I don’t even feel like I need to use a moisturiser afterwards! I’d love to start using this as part of my daily routine but I love my Clinique 3-Step system too much. We’ll see for in the future. My Mom bought a bottle of this back in 2011 and she uses it often, she loves it and uses it to wash her make up off, which is what this is for! It works as a cleanser, toner and make up remover. It’s amazing stuff and worth the money, even though I got my cute little bottle for free.

  • The Body Shop chocomania body scrub.

I got this cute little tub in my chocomania gift set in the Christmas sales and I love it so much, I’ve not used a scrub like this that worked really well for years so I’m glad that I bought the tin for this alone! The tub is a 50ml and so far it’s gone a long way, although there is only a few more uses left out of it (one I’ll possibly be using tonight before I go to bed). To me it smells like chocolate, but to my friend Gabz and my Mom, it smells like shit (saying poo is so… youthful…?) but I can’t agree with them there! I use this scrub all over my body, especially my arms, thighs and bum and it leaves me feeling silky smooth! Can’t help but run a hand over my bum to feel what a great job this product has done. I’ll definitely be buying the 200ml tub of this, which is priced at £12.50. I recommend getting a sample from The Body Shop as I know for me with my sensitive skin, sometimes products can be too gritty or just the wrong ingredients for my skin, so I’m glad this works for me! I’ll be posting a review for this as soon as the tub is empty and I buy a new one.

So that was my January favourites! I apologise again for how long it took for me to write this post up, but at least it’s here now and there’s plenty of goodies I’ve spoken of and mentioned.

Look forward to seeing you next month for February! Enjoy this month guys, Valentines Day and Pancake Day are upon us this coming week!
