The Disney Tag

On Valentine’s Day my good friend Kirsty over at Cosmetics Beauty Rainbow took part in The Disney Tag, which I only just recently got a chance to read (due to being busy with life, etc) and I decided that today I would give it a go before I head to work. I’m not Disney obsessed, but I do love Disney films. They’re a great pick me up, and I do have my favourites. Of course, I also have a cupboard FULL of Disney mugs! But let’s face it, who doesn’t?

On with the tag!

1. Favourite Disney Film
Definitely Lady and The Tramp. It’s been a favourite since a young age and I don’t know if it’s due to my love for dogs, or because I am a romantic sucker at heart and felt for Lady and Tramp’s love. Either way, it is my favourite. Whenever The Disney Store bring out merchandise based off the film, I always usually pick it up. I currently have my eye on one of the mugs they have out… But MONEY. 😥

2. Favourite Disney Characters
Of course from my answer above, it’s Lady and Tramp. I love how sweet, innocent, and caring Lady is, but I also love how Tramp is the opposite, daring, playful, and a rebel. I used to be like Tramp growing up, and I guess as a child I could relate. BUT going away from Lady and Tramp, I also love Merida from Brave. She knows what she wants, and sure as hell goes for it! I love her as a Disney princess, but I especially love that she’s ginger, AND Scottish. 😛

3. Favourite Disney Princess
Although I just said how I like Merida, my favourite is Pocahontas. She was the first Disney princess that I was brought with as a child. My parents took me to watch it at the cinema, bought me the doll, bought me clothes with her on. I think you get the point! She’s beautiful, smart, caring, and doesn’t give a damn and does what she wants. I’d love to be like her, and I remember as a child wanting the same tattoo as her.

4. Favourite Disney Song
I don’t know if I have one to be honest… I would say Under The Sea because I always sing it in funny situations and add my own lyrics to it. I got really hyper whilst on holiday with my dad and sang something to do with it, but in a sarcastic, and piss taking manner, and it had my dad in stitches. The majority of Disney films I like usually don’t have singing in… So yeah. I don’t really have a favourite, sorry!

5. Which Disney Character would be your best friend?
Merida because I’ve always wanted to learn how to use a bow and arrow, so we could take horse rides into the woods, and she could teach me. 🙂 God I sound like a total loser!

6. Who would be your Disney pet?
Scamp because I would take him out on awesome “wild dog” adventures with Dane and he would love it! I’d also love to have Lucky too, as he’s my favourite puppy from 101 Dalmatians. He’s always getting into trouble, and so damn cute! Him and Scamp would get on really well I think.

7. Have you ever been to Disneyland?
NO! BUT I REALLY WANT TO! I remember talking about it with Dane when we first started going out, but due to money and such at the moment, I doubt that we’ll be able to go anytime soon. I want to go to the one in Paris, as well as the one in Japan. My friend Poppy makes me jealous whenever she goes to Disneyland. I want a pair of BB-8 ears to wear.

8. Who is your Disney alter ego?
I don’t know to be honest… I never really think of things like that! I would like to say my favourite Disney characters, as I find that the way they are reflects who I am a little. Lady is caring, Lucky always gets into trouble (not that I always get into trouble!), Tramp for being brave and adventurous, Pocahontas for being true, honest, and kind, and Merida for standing up for what she believes in, and taking risks.

9. Who is your favourite Disney villain?
Scar! He’s just so sassy and it makes me laugh so damn much! Same for Ursula as well really, she’s a real diva! “The little tramp!” Oh and I can’t forget Hades! He’s just one of the funniest Disney villains I’ve ever watched. In fact, he’s my favourite. If I could be a Disney villian, I’d want to be like him.

10. Which Disney film would you star in, if you could?
I’d want to be a toy in Toy Story, or some sort of Japanese princess. I don’t know what toy I would be… Maybe a plush fox or something? I don’t know.

11. How old were you when you watched your first Disney film?
Erm… I don’t actually know to be honest, probably two or three. It was probably one of the old classics like Pinocchio, or Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs. I do fondly remember as a child though asking my dad to draw pictures of my favourite characters as he was an amazing cartoon drawer. He draw me a picture of Lady, which I know is in the loft somewhere. I loved when my dad did things like that, it felt special and I always remember thinking, “I wish I could draw like daddy.”

12. What do you love about Disney?
I love how the stories are brought to life, and how the characters are all so relate-able in some way or another. I like how for example Inside Out recently touched on depression, that’s really good! I also like how UP did the same sort of thing with loss as well, and how it can affect someone.

13. Who is your favourite Disney couple?
Well, Lady and Tramp of course! Lady, a prim and proper pup from a good background, and Tramp, a womanising stray from a rough background. It’s one of those stories that just go to show that people can change, and that people also deserve a chance. I love that movie so damn much.

So that brings us to the end of this tag! It’s made me realise how much I love Lady and The Tramp to be honest… Even though I already kind of knew that already!

Thanks to Kirsty for taking part in this tag, so that I could! As usual I tag everyone who reads this post to give it a go themselves. Make sure to comment letting me know you’ve done it yourself so I can read it.

Until next time however, take care all and have a great weekend!

2015 Movies I Can’t Wait To See!

This is a really spontaneous post but after having a nose on what is coming soon on my local cinemas website, I felt the urge to make this post… As well as a list for myself of what films are coming out that I want to see, and when.

I have five on this list, one that I have already watched online but am desperate to watch in the cinema. I’m not going to hang about when writing this post, I’m just going to dive straight in. I’ll post pictures of the posters for each film, as well as a trailer for it.

Inside Out – Release date for UK – 24th July 2015 Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it’s no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions – Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness. The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley’s main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.

This is probably the highest film I wish to see on this list… But that being said, I’ve already seen it. Yes I did the naughty thing and watched this online as soon as I found a half decent copy. Although I have seen it mind, I want to watch it again, properly. It’s officially been out a couple of days in the UK and at the time of writing this I’ll either have been to see it the day it came out, or I’ll be off to see it next week at some point. I love Pixar, so this is a must have to watch in the cinema for me. As I write this post I’m currently watching it online and it’s just such an amazing film. I hope I could write a full review for it in the future, but she shall see! It’s just a typical Pixar film that makes you think, and will make you cry too.

Max – Release date for UK – 7th August 2015A precision-trained military dog, Max serves on the frontlines in Afghanistan alongside his handler, U.S. Marine Kyle Wincott. But when things go terribly wrong on manoeuvres, Kyle is mortally wounded and Max, traumatised by the loss of his best friend, is unable to remain in service. Shipped stateside, the only human he seems willing to connect with is Kyle’s teenage brother, Justin, so Max is adopted by Kyle’s family, essentially saving his life. But Justin has issues of his own, such as living up to his father’s expectations for him; he isn’t interested in taking responsibility for his brother’s troubled dog. However, Max may be Justin’s only chance to discover what really happened to his brother that day on the front, and with the help of a tough-talking young teen, Carmen, who has a way with dogs, Justin begins to appreciate his canine companion. Justin’s growing trust in Max helps the four-legged veteran revert back to his heroic self, and as the pair race against time to unravel the mystery, they find more excitement – and danger – than they bargained for. But they each might also find an unlikely new best friend…in each other.

This is one I have been looking at on and off the past few weeks. It’s not something I am super excited about, but it does look like a good cheesy movie to have a cry at. I thought my boyfriend would love the look of this due to the dog being a breed he wants, but alas he isn’t that fussed either. However if we want to go watch a film and can’t think of anything we wish to watch, I could imagine us going to see this. It just reminds me of Marley & Me, which ironically shares the same producer as Max does. I don’t know if this is based off of a book, but it just looks like a good tearjerker.

The Diary of a Teenager Girl – Release date for UK – 7th August 2015 A teenage girl begins a complex love affair with her mother’s boyfriend in this whimsical American indie drama. Minnie (Bel Powley) is a 15-year-old living with her mother in 1970’s San Francisco. With her sexuality blossoming, the teenage artist begins an affair with her mother’s boyfriend, Monroe (Alexander Skarsgard). Minnie’s mother, Charlotte (Kristen Wiig), meanwhile, is an ageing hippy, gleefully indulging in a hedonistic lifestyle with her wayward daughter. But despite all of Minnie’s misadventures, it’s the middle-aged Monroe she keeps coming back to… Adapted from an acclaimed graphic novel, this innovative indie drama bubbles with visual ingenuity and quirky characterisation. First time writer/director Marielle Heller’s movie about the hedonistic attitudes of the 1970s party scene has been wowing audiences in the States, with Indiewire calling the film “genuine, poignant and hilarious”.

Oh my, this definitely my sort of film! I love drama style films aimed towards young adults as these sorts of films are always ones I loved watching when I was younger and make me feel really nostalgic. This one is about a young girl who starts to think about sex and soon finds herself falling for her mother’s boyfriend, only to have sex with him (I think…) and she documents her experience with sex and how it makes her feel. It just looks like a great coming of age story and right up my street!

Absolutely Anything – Release date for UK 14th August 2015Absolutely Anything follows a disillusioned school teacher, Neil Clarke (Pegg) who suddenly finds he has the ability to do anything he wishes, a challende bestowed upon him by a group of power-crazed aliens (voiced by Cleese, Gillam, Jones, Palin and Idle), watching him from space. As he struggles to deal with these new found powers and the events that subsequently arise, he calls upon his loyal canine companion Dennis (voiced by Robin Williams) to help him along the way. Mishap after mishap finally leadds him to the ultimate conundrum that all men dread and at which many have failed…should he choose the girl…or the dog…?

I totally forgot about this film until I found it on the coming soon page! This is a film I have been excited for since just after Robin Williams died. Not only does it star him (I think it’s his last film role…) voicing a dog, but it also stars Simon Pegg, who is one of my favourite actors. It’s one I know me and my boyfriend will go and watch as since the first trailer came out we loved the idea behind it, and especially Robin Williams’s amazing voice acting for the dog. I cannot wait for this to come out!

Paper Towns – Release date for UK – 21st August 2015Adapted from the bestselling novel by author John Green (“The Fault in Our Stars”), PAPER TOWNS is a coming-of-age story centring on Quentin and his enigmatic neighbour Margo, who loved mysteries so much she became one. After taking him on an all-night adventure through their hometown, Margo suddenly disappears–leaving behind cryptic clues for Quentin to decipher. The search leads Quentin and his quick-witted friends on an exhilarating adventure that is equal parts hilarious and moving. Ultimately, to track down Margo, Quentin must find a deeper understanding of true friendship–and true love

This is a film I have been excited for since it was announced. I love John Green and after how well The Fault in Our Stars did in the cinema, I can only imagine this one will be as just a good a success! I haven’t read the book yet, but I hope to get it read in time to go and watch the film. If not then I won’t be so bothered to be honest and I can just read it when I’ve watched the movie. I won’t lie though, I’m not as hyped up for this movie as much as I was for The Fault in Our Stars… I don’t know if that’s because EVERYONE hyped up that movie. But to be honest, I’m super excited about Looking for Alaska being turned into a movie as that’s probably my favourite John Green book. I would like to go and watch this film with someone I know has read the book besides myself, but I can’t see this happening, sad to say.

Snoopy And Charlie Brown: The Peanuts Movie – Release date for UK – 25th December 2015Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus, and the rest of the beloved “Peanuts” gang make their big-screen debut, like they’ve never been seen before, in state-of-the-art 3D animation. Snoopy, the world’s most lovable beagle and flying ace embarks upon his greatest mission as he takes to the skies to pursue his arch-nemesis The Red Baron, while his best pal, Charlie Brown, begins his own epic quest. From the imagination of Charles M. Schulz and the creators of the ICE AGE films, THE PEANUTS MOVIE will prove that every underdog has his day.

I remember my boyfriend sending me a 30 second trailer for this film months and months ago, probably around Christmas last year and I was so excited! Every time we have been to our local cinema and seen adverts and posters for it, we’ve realised it’s out soon and get even more excited about seeing it. However only prior to writing this post did I actually look up a trailer or two for it. At first I was a tad meh about the trailer and film in general, not feeling it too much, but when I watched the trailer that I’ve here and I’ve safely fallen in love. Peanuts was a huge part of my childhood and Snoopy is a big love of mine, so this movie is definitely something I need to watch when it comes out. I’m unsure about the release date, considering that’s Christmas Day… But I can work with that if that is the case!

So those are the movies I am excited about for the rest of 2015! There will probably be some more that pop up but I’m just going by what I found on my local cinema website as I stated earlier on in this post. These are just the main ones I’m looking forward to this year.

So, what movies are you wanting to watch in 2015? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’ve had a great weekend.

May Wish List 2015

I swear to God, April has been a tough month and before May 21st, it’ll be even tougher. I’m towards the end of my second semester of uni and that means lots and LOTS of uni work! I have five assignments due in and I need to start working on my dissertation as soon as the 21st has gone. I’ve already started it, which is good of course.

Anyway, wish list. I didn’t have a clue what I wanted to be honest, and I had to have a think about what I had seen and lusted after. Some I have mentioned before, but I’ll talk about them differently this time around.

I think after the 21st I’ll treat myself to a few things from this list for working so hard… Yeah… Maybe if I’m not skint anyway!

  • Yankee Candle Tea Lights in Berrylicious.

I own this scent in a large jar (which I spoke about here) and it’s by far one of my favourites! However, due to how rare this candle is now appearing to be, I’ve decided to save it until I move out and have my own home to burn it in. The same can be said for my newest candle, Red Velvet (in a large jar! YAY!), which I picked up at the start of April. I have had my eye on the Berrylicious range in Yankee Candle’s sale for a bargain. I recently bought the Easter Vanilla Cupcake and bunny tea light holder in Clinton’s sale so I now have a cute little tea light holder to burn my candles in! So I might pick this tea light set up in the sale. Berrylicious is such a yummy smell and will be perfect for summer.

  • 101 Dalmatians Lucy Tsum Tsum.

Oh my Gosh, everyone is in love with these and at first I didn’t get why… Until I saw them for the first time in the Disney Store and now I know why. These little guys are so cute and adorable! They come in small, medium and large sizes. The large ones are huge and would prove good companions if you feel miserable and want something to snuggle into. I think they’d also work good on long journeys and you want to have a snooze. They look like pillows. However, I’ve only been interested in the small ones and they’re just as cute. I’ve had my eye on Lady from Lady and The Tramp but from having a look on the Disney Store website, I’ve discovered that they have 101 Dalmatians ones! This is my second favourite Disney film so I was instantly attracted. Lucky has always been my favourite puppy (for obvious reasons!) and as a kid whenever I found something 101 Dalmatians themed, I usually bought it. I was obsessed with it at one point and it was a bit crazy. But sod it, we’re all a little crazy aren’t we? But enough rambling! I’d love all the other puppies available too, which are Patch and Rolly. I can see me ordered these as a treat when I get paid at the end of the month.

  • OPI Nail Lacquer in This Colour’s Making Waves (from Hawaii Collection).

I love OPI and over the past couple of years they have become my favourite nail polish brand. Sometimes there are just collections and shades that come out that I really love and need in my life and this is one of them. This colour really is making waves over the blogging community and everyone appears to adore it. I’ve read review, after review and the more I have read, the more I have wanted it. I had a look at it in store the weekend and it really did appeal to me. I would have bought it there and then but I don’t think my boyfriend would have allowed me without a fight… SO I have decided to save it as a treat for when I’ve handed in all my assignments for semester two. That seems a pretty decent bargain to me! The shade itself is a shimmery teal with blue and greens in there. It reminds me of Fuerteventura (where I was somewhat brought up as a child) and the ocean looks just like this. It would just remind me of that and I miss that place like a fat kid on a diet misses cake. So I kinda need this in my life…

  • YY Kawaii personalised iPhone case.

I’ve mentioned this Etsy seller before and she is amazing! I really want her to customise a case for me! I was close to ordering one at the start of the week, but I left it. I’m going to wait until I get myself a new phone before I finish uni. I may as well, as whilst her cases look beautiful, they’re also expensive. So I wouldn’t want to buy one for my iPhone 5, only in three or four months time to get an iPhone 6. To then need to order another one. So I may as well wait it out and think about what I would like. I have some ideas and it’s definitely a nerdy Pokemon themed one, especially Eevee! I want a Starbucks cup on there, as well as some other cute little pink things and such. I can’t wait to order it!

  • Eve 3D Mug.

Who doesn’t love Disney Store mugs, eh? I love them and once a year I may buy myself a new one. I used to buy them all the time when I was in college and undergraduate uni but I’ve grown up a little since and been good and saved money. However we all need to be a big kid sometimes and when I fancy being just this, I look to Disney and Pokemon for my childish fixes. I have the 3D Wall E mug and I want the Eve one to match! I wanted this mug for about a year and every time I went into the Disney Store it was sold out, the Wall E one too! Then they told me it wasn’t coming back into store, but to check online. They’d all gone from there too. However last year on a random shopping date I FOUND WALL E! He was in the sale with £2 knocked off of him. If Eve had have been there too, I would have bought her as well. When I have my own home, all my mugs will be Disney and anime related. Because I’m cool that way.

  • Lanolips Lip Ointment in Apples.

I’ve been lusting after a Lanolips lip ointment for years, but due to how expensive they are… I’ve never picked one up. Plus everywhere I’ve looked, they’ve never had this one in stock. So I left it. However, Feel Unique now stock this one and it excites me very much! I’ve wanted to pick up the banana one too, but as I’m allergic to banana and it contains actual banana, I wouldn’t want to worry it would set off my allergies. This is expensive and it’ll have to be a very special treat to myself to pick it up.

  • How to Build a Girl by Caitlin Moran.

I can’t say I have loved Caitlin Moran’s books… I was bought How To Be a Woman years ago and I just couldn’t get into it. I don’t know if it was me at the time and the frame of mind I was in, but I just had to stop reading. I was so excited to read it too as the person who bought it for me said I was similar to Caitlin, but when I read it I kept thinking, “fuck off, I am nothing like this!” but I will someday give that book another go. However, I fancied buying this whilst food shopping as not only was it cheap, but the plot sounded right up my street! And the style of writing that I do myself. I will definitely buy it someday, but maybe not yet as with uni work, my reading has been put on hold. Which I’m pretty gutted about! I love reading so much.

  • TAFI Deadpool Leggings.

I love me some leggings and whilst I love Black Milk ones the most, they aren’t very purse friendly and whilst I often purchase mine via eBay (I make sure they’re legit, etc) I just want to find something new… Etsy is great for this and whilst some don’t look as good as Black Milk, some are designs that Black Milk haven’t even done yet. This is one of them. I rather like Deadpool and I’m super excited about the movie with Ryan Reynolds (who is also one of my favourite actors) these leggings are just perfect really. They look great quality and just look cool and I’d be able to dress them up with all sorts. Including postage, these would only cost me over £17. BARGAIN when Black Milk will cost you nearly £100 including postage! I recommend checking out TAFI if you want some cool leggings for a bargain.

So that’s my wish list for May! I do need to save money so I may only buy one or two items from this list. I need to save money for bills, uni, as well as for trying to put a deposit on my own home. It’s tough going but I guess this is being a grown up.

What’s on your wish list this month? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time, take care all and see you soon.
