My Daily Skin Care Essentials

Okay at the moment I am so DONE with how clammy and hot it has been. I love the hot weather, but I really don’t love it in the UK. Maybe it’s because work is hot and stuffy and maybe it’s because the UK isn’t prepared for heat? Meh either way, I just want a little bit of rain, if not for my gardens sake over my own!

Today’s blog post is one I’ve always thought about writing, but never have until now because I thought my skin care routine was boring and that no one would ever wish to see it.

This being said, why would it be boring? Especially if it works for my skin type! I feel like recently I’ve hit a jackpot with my skin care and FINALLY found some products that work for me and leave my skin looking great, as well as feeling good too.

Get yourselves a nice cold drink, maybe an ice cream or an ice lolly and prepare for this evenings blog post! Not only has it taken me a whole 6 years to write this post, but I’m spontaneously writing it at nearly 9pm. Oh dear, I hope it’s good reading. ๐Ÿ˜›

I have 6 main items I use when doing my morning skin care routine, some of them are recent newbies and some are products I’ve used on and off over the years. BUT it is finally so amazing to find products that work with my skin, and don’t cost a fortune to pick up either!

  • Australian Bodycare Skin Wash.

This is the first thing I’ll use everyday as a part of my routine and it’s only recently that I’ve started using this on my face. My skin was breaking out constantly and I started to worry I had acne and was feeling ugly constantly. I looked how I did when I was 13 and very much so like a pepperoni pizza! You can use this skin wash all over your body and considering I always use it on my body, using it on my face couldn’t hurt, right? It was amazing to be honest with you and it’s really changed my skin for the better this past month! You don’t need a lot of this either, which is even better considering this is a 1000ml bottle. I need to get some refills for it as soon as I can.

  • Clean & Clear Blackhead Clearing Cleanser.

This is the newest product in my skin care routine and it’s one I’m so glad I picked up! I needed a new face cleanser/toner and I usually pick up a tea tree one. They didn’t have that sadly and my mom has always raved about this cleanser, so I thought I’d give it a go. If I didn’t like it, I could always give it to my mom and pick up a different one. This is amazing to be honest with you and I feel like it really does lift up any leftover muck from my pores. Gross, but true! ๐Ÿ˜› This is also really refreshing to use whilst the weather is hot.

  • Simple Kind To Eyes Soothing Eye Balm.

This is an eye cream/balm I’ve been using for many years now and chopped and changed using it on and off for various reasons. I always go back to it though because it always leaves my eyes feeling cool, moisturised and although not looking “better”, they certainly look somewhat refreshed. This lasts ages too as you only need a little bit and it doesn’t cost a fortune either. My only issue with this is that it doesn’t help with ageing, which I probably need to start thinking about now… ๐Ÿ˜›

  • LOreal Paris Hydra Genius Liquid Care (review here).

This is by far my favourite product alongside the tea tree skin wash in my skin care. This came out last year and it released at such a great time considering it was boiling when it came out. This is now my second bottle and look how much I have left! I’ll buy myself another bottle soon enough to be honest with you as I love using it everyday. As you’ll read from my review, this is a really light formula, which goes a long way and leaves your skin feeling moisturised and cooled down. It’s perfect to take abroad with you (if possible) due to how cooling it is. I especially love using it after a face mask.

  • Rimmel London Insta Fix & Matte Translucent Powder.

This is my second one of these now and I love it so much! This is probably the only bit of make up I always use to be honest with you. Due to my combination skin, I get an oily t-zone and due to that I like to matte it down as much as I can, with as little effort as possible. This powder is really light and doesn’t do a heavy coverage at all, but nonetheless for me it does an amazing job!

  • Collection Colour Lash Clear Mascara.

Due to having such big eye brows I need a good clear mascara to keep them in shape all day long and this is by far the best and most affordable clear mascara on the high street! I used to use the Miss Sporty one but the staying power wasn’t as good as it could have been. I’ve not really tried any other brands, I don’t need to considering how great the Collection one is! I recommend it if you want to use a clear mascara on both your eyelashes and eyebrows.

So those are my daily skin care essentials and my favourite ones to be honest with you! There are other bits and pieces I like using on and off too, but they don’t get a mention here. ๐Ÿ˜›

What are your daily skin care essentials? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re excited for the weekend, I know I am. ๐Ÿ˜›

2017 Favourites!

This post is way behind schedule and as I mentioned in my recent post, I am sorry about that but my health comes first and sadly a week later I am STILL poorly! Not as poorly as I was beforehand, thankfully but still poorly all the same. Me and Dane have a feeling I’ve got the Aussie flu that’s been going around the UK at the moment, either way I hope it passes by the end of the week when I’m back at work!

Finally I am getting around to sitting at my desk and writing this post, which is way overdue now but whatever, better late than never, eh?

I’m going to list my top 5 favourite things from all sorts of things including beauty, fashion and lifestyle because that’s the 3 topics I always focus on on There Might Be Coffee.

Again, I do apologise for how long this post has taken for me to write and publish, but here it finally is, my 2017 favourites!

Beauty

  • L’Oreal Paris Hydra Genius in Normal to Combination Skin (review here).

This is definitely my number one item of 2017 and was also my favourite discovery too! This was a product L’Oreal released last year and after hearing nothing but good things about it, I decided to pick it up when it was on offer. I only recently finished my first bottle and have already repurchased another. This is my go to moisturiser and one I recommend everyone to try, especially during the warmer months and for holidays abroad.

  • Rimmel Insta Fix & Matte Powder.

This is another release this year and one I’d heard positive reviews about so picked it up. Initially I didn’t think much on it, but hoped it would grow on me… It never did and I was really disappointed to be honest. I tried another face powder after this and it was only then I realised that the Rimmel powder was actually amazing and I ended up stopping use of the new powder and picked up another one of these. I really need to review it, but at the same time it doesn’t really need a review. It’s not the best matte powder in the world (Korean ones are! :P) but it really does the job for my oily t-zone and it doesn’t break the bank to buy either.

  • L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream.

I’ve mentioned this hand cream time and time again over the years and I know for a fact I mentioned it plenty of times on here. That itself goes to show how much I love this product. It’s definitely the best hand cream I own and I’ll always go back to it no matter what! Since moving to my new job the state of the eczema on my hands has improved dramatically and it’s purely due to applying hand cream whenever my hands have been washed/wet. I don’t ALWAYS apply this hand cream but it’s often what I reach for. It’s also what I keep in my handbag all the time as it’s great to use if my hands are suffering a little in the colder weather. It really picks my skin back up and if you suffer from eczema like I do, then I recommend trying this! It’s not cheap, but it works wonders.

  • Carmex Cherry Lip Balm.

Again, another beauty product I have spoken about highly since I bought it in September. It was my holy grail whilst I was in Fuerteventura as well as during the day at work whilst sitting at my desk. There’s loads of things I love about using Carmex over other lip balm brands including the cherry flavour, the tingling feeling it gives my lips as well as how thick the product is. Of course the moisture it gives to my lips is always good too! ๐Ÿ˜› I recently picked up the Christmas limited edition sugar plum flavour too, which is amazing.

  • Body Fantasies Signature Body Sprays in Cotton Candy and Vanilla.

I picked these up before I went to Fuerteventura as I planned to take the Cotton Candy with me to use in the evenings, but I never bothered and as soon as I got back home I was using them almost daily and still do! These smell gorgeous and I already know they’ll be a regular purchase throughout 2018. They’re great to spritz all over your body before getting changed, as well as spritzing all over you instead of using perfume. I always get compliments on these and they’re a really good price too and come in loads of different scents. I definitely recommend giving them a go if you fancy trying a new brand of body sprays.

Fashion

  • Standard Fox Sweatshirt.

Standard is a clothing brand in Fuerteventura and it’s always a store I visit whenever I’m on the island. Me and Dane both went in when we were there in September/October and Dane picked up a Stormtrooper t-shirt and I picked up this sweatshirt. It’s one of the most comfortable ones I own and it compliments so many outfits, oh and it’s also VERY warm! I wore it on our last day in Fuerteventura when we were coming home and let me tell you, wearing a sweatshirt and jeans for 7 hours in a hot airport is NOT GOOD. ๐Ÿ˜› I wear this with jeans as well as my denim shorts and tights. When we had snow I LIVED in this as it kept me lovely and snug, without being too cold or even too warm.

  • Ohayou Clothing Umbreon Varsity Jacket.

This is my go to jacket whenever I’m not at work basically, as I don’t think an Umbreon jacket would go down all that well, do you? ๐Ÿ˜› I live in this though whenever I’m not at work, as as well as my Eevee version too. I bought this in October and since then have worn it loads! I really want to get more of Ohayou’s varsity jackets as they also have a Vaporeon and Sylveon versions I would love to have.

  • Primark Knitted Dress.

This is a dress I forgot I owned until before Christmas. I still have some bits and pieces ofย  mine left at my mom’s house which I need to go through and decide whether to keep or sell. I went to have a look for some potential work pieces and found this dress there. The last 2 times I’d worn it were both at funerals, my cousins and my grans so I decided to stop wearing it as I felt it was “tainted” with negative vibes. However since bringing it home I’ve worn it loads for work and it’s so comfortable and flattering on my figure. I don’t see it as being tainted anymore, but more of a dress I decided to wear to celebrate both my cousin and my grans lives.

  • Marks & Spencer Red Star Shirt.

I bought this dress not long before I went to Fuerteventura and even took it over there with me, although I didn’t wear it once! I love wearing this shirt for work, as well as for personal use. The first time I wore it was for a meal out with Dane and his parents. I teamed it with my denim shorts and tights and I felt so adorable! Now I’ll team it up with a black skater shirt and smart work trousers.

  • YURI!!! On Ice Cardigan.

Not going to lie, my new job was such an excuse for me to buy this cardigan… ๐Ÿ˜› I wanted it for ages but at the time it was so expensive at ยฃ41.99 but when it went down to ยฃ24.99 I snatched it up, as did my best friend Gabriella (HEYYY! :D) so we’re cardigan besties. ๐Ÿ˜› This is the most comfortable cardigan I own though and I wore it to death the first week I owned it! I still wear it loads as it’s got really long sleeves and isn’t too thick so isn’t too warm to wear in the office. I wear it with any outfit it’ll work with pretty much.

Lifestyle

  • Persona 5 on PlayStation 4.

This has to be the number one favourite thing of mine from 2017 and thankfully just before the end of the year I FINALLY FINISHED IT and guess what? I’m currently replaying it! Who would have guessed then, eh? This was definitely the game of the year for me and for anyone who knows me, they know how obsessed I have grown for this game and how much more I want from it. Since buying and playing Persona 5, I have since bought and downloaded Persona 4: Golden as well as Persona 4: Dancing All Night. I equally can’t wait for Persona 3: Dancing Moon Night and especially for Persona 5: Dancing Star Night. I really want to review Persona 5 at some point but I’m crap at writing game reviews, I just want to write over and over how much I love it and that’s it. ๐Ÿ˜›

  • Kimi No Na Wa/Your Name Anime.

This film had to be the most popular anime film that came out in 2017 and it is clear why. It was a gorgeous film both visually as well as the story line and as soon as me and Dane got the chance to go and watch it, we took it with both hands. I loved the film so much so when Dane’s parents bought me it on Blu-ray I was thrilled! For my birthday a couple of days ago we got some takeaway Japanese food and popped this on the TV to watch. I forgot how much I loved it and this time we watched it in subbed, we watched dubbed at the cinema. I much prefer it in dubbed. ๐Ÿ˜› If you haven’t watched this film but love anime, GET ON IT!

  • South Park: The Fractured But Whole on PlayStation 4.

Although I was super excited for this game Persona 5 was the one that stole my heart in 2017. However, this game really holds a place in my heart for various different reasons. I love South Park and have done since it came out in the UK back in the 90’s. It was on Comedy Central as well as on Channel 4 late at night and it was my mom who introduced me to the show. Me and my cousins would stay up late to watch them together and if we never managed to, my aunt would record them for us to watch over the weekend. It was amazing! So when they announced a second game I was super excited! I grew pissed off though at the constant push backs of the release but eventually it stuck and before I knew it it was in my hands and then in my console being played. I finished it not long before Christmas and oh man, what a game! It was definitely different from The Stick Of Truth and I actually think I preferred it due to the story. I’m not saying anything but I wasn’t expecting what happened. This is another game I would love to review, but I’d be dire at it. ๐Ÿ˜›

  • American Horror Story TV Series.

Me and Dane started watching this in 2017 and oh man I love it so much, even though we’re very slow on continuing with it at the moment. Series 1 is by far my favourite one to date and the show is just so good. It pulls you in and yet keeps you on the edge of your seat all the same. The acting in it is incredible, especially by Evan Peters who I have fallen in love with thanks to the show, as well as his role of Tate. I can’t wait to continue watching the TV series in 2018.

  • A Silent Voice Manga.

This was by far one of my favourite manga to read this year, as well as one of my favourite anime movies alongside Kimi No Na Wa/Your Name. The manga just shouted out more to me and I found I enjoyed it that little more as you get more about the story from it, as well as learn more about the characters after the film ends. If you loved the anime, I recommend you go and read the manga as it’s so good!

So those are all my picks for my 2017 favourites! I could have picked so many more things, but I thought keeping it to a top 5 was for the best. ๐Ÿ˜›

What were your favourite things throughout 2017? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you had a lovely weekend.

August Favourites ’17

YAY SEPTEMBER! Oh my I have been so excited for this month to roll around. Apart from the holiday this is always my month of the year where I try to get a fresh start in order. I’ll try and do a blog post about this before I go on holiday.

This past months favourites has been so hard to do as I really had to have a good think about what products I was loving. Obviously I came up with my 5 items for the month but it wasn’t easy!

  • Australian Bodycare Tea Tree Oil Skin Wash.

This is a shower gel I’ve started using again and I always forget how amazing it is! It’s a massive bottle that my mom gave me not long before me and Dane moved into the house. I stopped using it because I wanted to save it for whenever I fancied using it again. Of course tea tree is antibacterial and due to that I love using this shower gel to help me feel lovely and clean. My anxiety can sometimes make me worry I smell and I’m dirty, even if I’ve just got out of the shower. Bless my mom she recently gave me ANOTHER bottle of this and as you can see from the picture, it’s huge. A 1000ml bottle in fact. So I’ve started using it again. I forgot how refreshing this shower gel is and I love it so damn much!

  • Benefit Gogotint Cheek & Lip Stain (review here).

This was one of my new purchases in July/August and it’s the main lip product I’ve worn throughout the month. It’s so easy to apply and in so many different ways! I love wearing it at work at the moment as it adds a pop of colour in the mornings and I can apply my Vaseline over the top of it without any colour being ruined. This will definitely be worn loads throughout September and especially on holiday. You can read my review to understand more of why it’s on my favourites this month.

  • Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel.

You know Lush Christmas is looming when I get the Snow Fairy out! I still have a massive 1kg bottle left to break out and use when we’re back from holiday, but for now me and Dane have really been enjoying this one and have used nearly all of it! I forgot how sickly sweet it is and I fucking love it! It’s been a shower gel I’ve used on days off as well as in the bath alongside some of my Lush bubble bars and bath bombs. I’m excited to find out what we’ll be getting for Christmas with Lush!

  • Rimmel London Insta Fix & Matte Powder.

I bought this powder as I needed a new one and this has been everywhere on blogs the past month or two. I’m glad I picked it up as it’s a great powder for the price. All the same however it’s not the best in the world, but it definitely does the job whenever I’m getting ready and popping out. I’ve been using it loads this month and I’m probably going to take it with me on holiday too as it’ll be great to use in the evenings to keep shine away. This doesn’t keep shine away all day, but it will for at least 6 hours.

  • DIOR Addict EDP.

I’ve owned this perfume since I went to Fuerteventura in 2015 and it’s still got loads left in the bottle! I started using this mid August and I actually forgot how much I love the scent. I can’t really describe it to be honest with you. It’s sweet but not a girly, teenage, Britney Spears type scent but more of a mature woman smell. It’s the sort of fragrance that if you will see a business woman wear. ๐Ÿ˜› This is a classic and has been around for over 10 years now.

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Image taken from weheartit.com

Favourite TV Show – This Is England 86, 88 and 90.

To say I love This Is England is a massive understatement. I don’t know why but recently I felt the need to watch the TV series from the start to finish. I watched all 11 episodes in probably a day if not two and I fell in love all over again. I didn’t watch the film however. I do have a feeling I felt the urge to watch them due to watching Joseph Gilgun in Preacher recently. Which I am still loving from last month by the way! If you’ve never watched the This Is England series then I seriously suggest you do so asap! You’ll love it more than the film, I guarantee. I just love LOL and Woody so damn much. I wish I had them both as friends.

Favourite Film – Swiss Army Man and To The Bone.

I recently watched these two films thanks to both Amazon and Netflix. Me and Dane have wanted to watch Swiss Army Man for ages but we just never got around to it until we saw it recently being advertised on Amazon Prime. It was all that I could imagine it to be and even more, quite honestly it was weird and amazing and I recommend it for everyone to watch! I’ve had to put a trailer above because I’m pretty sure many haven’t even heard of this film before.

I also recently watched To The Bone, which is about a girl dealing with an eating disorder. It reminds me of a John Green novel and I just fell in love with all of the characters. The film ended and I was left wanting to find out more of what happened! I recommend you watch it if you love films, TV shows and books like this. Something to watch out for is if you have or are currently dealing with an eating disorder then this could trigger you, so please be cautious before watching.

Favourite Book – Erm…

I haven’t read anything this month sadly. I don’t know what it is at the moment but I just haven’t really been reading anything, not even manga. I’m kind of waiting to go on holiday to catch up on reading all my manga at the moment. But I can see me just taking two Bridget Jones books to read.

Favourite Song/Album – K-ON! Soundtrack.

Dane recently bought the soundtrack to K-ON! and that’s pretty much most of what we’ve both been listening to and I actually love it! I can’t wait to listen to these songs when we’re on holiday as they’re just some really happy and go lucky feeling songs. The song I’ve added above is one of the last songs the band create together and it’s the last one we hear on the anime too. It’s the girls goodbye song to the youngest member of the band, Azusa. They’re all leaving to go to college and she’s staying at school for her final year. It’s a very sad song but it’s lovely all the same and is definitely my favourite.

Favourite Game – Persona 5… YES IT STILL IS, GET OVER IT! ๐Ÿ˜›

Yes I am STILL playing Persona 5 and I don’t give a fuck! Sadly due to how bad my mental health has been throughout August I haven’t been reading nor have I been playing games and it’s purely because I just haven’t had the patience or thought behind doing either of them. Watching films and TV shows has been fine though.

Image taken from weheartit.com

This being said I have been playing Minecraft with Dane quite a lot lately. We both craved a game we could just chill out and play together and Minecraft was the perfect game for this. We’ve played it loads and I forgot how much I love it. We haven’t played it as much though lately, sadly. I’m sure we will again soon.

So those are my favourites from August! It went by really quickly and a part of me is so pleased. I fucking hated August. It was full of stress for me and mind fucks and I’m really hoping that September will bring better things.

I’ll be writing a blog post about that soon. ๐Ÿ™‚

What were your favourites throughout August? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you had a great month.

Perfect Berry Shades For Winter – Guest Post

When Natalee said she was looking for some guest writers for her blog while she was on holiday, I jumped at the chance. Not only because sheโ€™s wonderful, but because itโ€™s nice to write about something not related to my mental health! I write about my life with borderline personality disorder, you see โ€“ and it can get heavy at times with such a serious topic at hand. So itโ€™s a nice change to write about something fun! Plus, I LOVE MAKE-UP. I really do. So I wanted to take this opportunity to write about it!

But first, a little story. I got married a few weeks ago, and my colour scheme involved rich berry tones along with purples and ivory. November is a month of change with autumn going into winter, the crisp colours of browns and golds going into plums and silvery whites, and being the totally non-traditional woman that I am, I was never going to be a traditional bride. I wanted colour to be a part of my look, I didnโ€™t want to be all dressed in white. So, I took a part of my colour scheme and brought it into my look for the dayโ€ฆ which brings me to this post!

As well as berry coloured shoes and sash on my dress to go with the berry coloured buttons in my handmade bouquet, I decided to be bold and wear a berry-toned lipstick. It wasnโ€™t an easy decision. Here, Iโ€™m going to give you a rundown of my top five berry-toned lipsticks for winter, ending with the one I ended up wearing for my big day! So, without further adoโ€ฆ

Image taken from MAC Cosmetics website

  1. MAC lipstick in Rebel – ยฃ15.50 from maccosmetics.co.uk

I have Natalee to thank for this classic making its way into my lipstick collection. On the site, itโ€™s described as a โ€˜midtonal cream plumโ€™ and it is seriously flattering on any skin tone. It does look more purple-toned on me, which wasnโ€™t quite right for the wedding, but it did end up being worn by my bridesmaid! The Husband calls it my โ€˜going to warโ€™ lipstick, as I always seem to wear it when I need that bit of confidence to get me through anything โ€“ and it seriously works. It is gorgeous, it feels amazing on the lips, and it smells heavenly and lasts for ages even without primer or liner. I usually have to remove it with baby oil as it always leaves a stain! Really worth the money and definitely a staple for the make-up bag.

Image taken from Rimmel London Cosmetics website

  1. Rimmel The Only 1 lipstick in One of a Kind – ยฃ6.99 from Boots

The first ever lipstick I bought back in college was Rimmel Lasting Finish in Amethyst Shimmer. It probably wouldโ€™ve looked fine on me, had I not insisted on the dark eye make-up along with it. Rimmel are touting this as a โ€˜lipstick revolutionโ€™ and while I usually guffaw at such statements, they have a right to brag. The quality is astounding, especially given the low cost and brand. It felt amazing on the lips, really creamy and soft, but it lasted a lot longer than expected from such a comfortable lipstick. The colour is a much more red-toned berry than Rebel, and I definitely will be rocking it over the winter months!

Image taken from Max Factor website

  1. Max Factor Colour Elixir lipstick in Mulberry – ยฃ7.99 from Boots

Iโ€™m a huge fan of Max Factor. I swear by their mascara and foundation primer, and when I discovered their Colour Elixir lipsticks, I fell in love. Another creamy lipstick with added benefits โ€“ โ€˜A blend of 60% emollients, conditioners and antioxidants including vitamin Eโ€™ according to the Boots website. Mulberry is a vampy, dark shimmery shade that says โ€œIโ€™m here to party, and I will get off with that bloke Iโ€™ve fancied for ages because I am a goddess of the night.โ€

โ€ฆor something like that, anyway.

With the added pampering benefits for your lips, I would definitely recommend it for the winter months when we could all do with a little help against the elements. And Christmas parties. Go get โ€˜em, tiger.

Image taken from Clinique website

  1. Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primer in Love Pop – ยฃ16 from Boots

There is a shade of this called Berry Pop which is very dark, which I imagine will be stunning for the season, but looked far too dark on me. The selling point of this lipstick is that you donโ€™t need to wear primer underneath for it to stay on. A nice ideaโ€ฆ but I didnโ€™t think it worked out too well. However, with primer and liner, it upped the game. Love Pop is a soft, pink-toned berry which gives a very romantic look and is extremely wearable. It also feels amazing. I am a fan of this product, so much so that I have since purchased two more shades!

And in the number one spot, which made it to my face on my wedding dayโ€ฆ

Image taken from Feel Unique website

  1. Burtโ€™s Bees Lip Crayon in Napa Vineyard – ยฃ8.99 from feelunique.com

PERFECT. WEDDING. COLOUR. I have seen people raving about these little crayons on reddit, and I can see why! The colour payoff is phenomenal, it feels just like a lip balm, and the finish is a very fashionable matte. It went perfectly with the colours we had, and it made me feel so glamourous and just finished the look in the way I wanted it to. The only downside is that it wasnโ€™t very long lasting, even with primer and liner, but you know what? It looked perfect and I hope in the final photos youโ€™ll be able to see just how much it made my final look.

So, there you have it! Thanks Nat for letting me write this for you, and I hope your readers go out and get their berry on โ€“ seriously, itโ€™s a colour that looks good on everyone, and will never let you down.

If youโ€™re interested in my blog about life with borderline personality disorder (BPD), visit me at http://allmouthnospoons.wordpress.com. I can also be found tweeting nonsense at http://twitter.com/MouthAndSpoons.

A huge thanks to Claire for writing this post up for me on such short notice! It’s the first of many guest posts that will be on my blog over the next month, which is pretty damn exciting! I love all the lipsticks she spoke about, especially Rebel which is by far my favourite lipstick. Which shades did you love? Make sure to leave Claire some love in the comments down below!

Until next time all, take care and see you when I’m back from holiday (I’ve officially been here a day now!)

Wish List Wednesday – London

Of course I’m due to go to London in a months time and I know that is going to fly by! Like Bristol, I’ll be popping to the shops a week before I’m due to go to pick up some bits and pieces I can used whilst I’m away. This is what this wish list is for! I may also mention in a separate wish list post which items I’ll be trying to pick up whilst I’m in London. *cough* LUSH *cough*

Some of these things I would like to pick up anyway and London is sort of an excuse for this, at the same time it’s also things I would like to have for London.

  • ย John Frieda Beach Blonde Cool Dip Purifying Shampoo and Sea Waves Sea Salt Spray.

When John Frieda brought this collection back out a month or so ago, I had such a nostalgic moment. I remember when I was a kid when all the “cool” girls in the playground used the spray in their hair. It was the “it” product and was something I lusted after for years. However my mom would never buy it for me and she wouldn’t let me buy it with my own pocket money either. I won’t lie when I admit that I contemplated stealing it once just so I could have it, and she wouldn’t find out about me buying it either. But I knew better and left it… Don’t steal kids! Anyway… Now I’m old enough I can buy it for myself and from what I remember this spray isn’t as harsh on hair as many of the sea salt sprays on the market are. I’ve already tried one and although it made my hair look and feel gorgeous, it was a bit too much for my liking. I remember trying this as a kid once or twice when the “cool” girls let me try it out. I mostly remember how gorgeous it smelt, like coconuts. Nom! I want that again so I’m going to pick this up in time for summer, and London. Also in the range is the shampoo, which sounds so nice! I don’t really need any shampoo as I already have my eye on one I want to pick up (check my wish list for June here) but I’d like one to take with me to London for both me and my boyfriend to use. I would end up sending it over to his house so that I could use it there whenever I wash my hair, as the current shampoo I use there is pretty lame and makes my hair go really flat… It used to work wonders before! I’ll have to contemplate this mind, as I do really have my eyes set on the Neal & Wolf shampoo.

  • Evian Facial Spray.

I’m going to be a little honest here when I say, if I buy water whilst I’m out and about, I won’t buy anything else other than Evian (if I have that choice of course) because it’s the best one you can buy! I’ve used their facial spray in the past when it first came out and it’s gorgeous! It’s also expensive… But if you look in the right places you can pick up a bargain. As me and my boyfriend will be at Hyper Japan all day the second day of our stay in London, we’re going to be HOT! So I thought it might be a good idea to pick up a cooling spray. I know there are loads out there, but searching online the only one I’m seeming to find (I’m probably not searching hard enough!) is this one. I doubt this will be the one I pick up due to the price, but if I wanted a splurge, I would.

  • Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lip Liner.

I’ve been eying this up for a while now as I LOVE wearing lipstick. However, I don’t like only have three lip liners (red, pinky nude, and raspberry pink) that won’t suit the needs of all my lipsticks. This is where this lip liner will be great for this. It’s a clear one, so it can be applied under any colour lipstick and it’ll still do the same job as any other. Plus I imagine from the moisture in the name that it helps keep your lips nice and hydrated throughout the day. This is what I need for London, as whilst I’ll be walking around all day and kept busy, I don’t really want to worry that my lipstick isn’t perfect. I’ve tried this out in Boots before and it does look like a great product, and for less than ยฃ4.00 you can’t complain either!

  • Reeses Pajamas from Primark.

I recently spotted these gorgeous pajamas on Primark’s Instagram and since I have fallen in love! I haven’t been near a Primark to pick them up yet, but I’ll hopefully be able to the weekend when I’m near one. I don’t own a pair of short pajamas that I really like so these would be great for the warm summer months. They’ll also be ideal for London because of it. They’re only ยฃ10, which you can’t say is a bad price. They also sell underwear and boxers too, so I may just have to pick some of those up for myself and my boyfriend. ๐Ÿ˜›

  • Aussie Shower Gel in Fresh Mate.

If there is one thing I love about the Aussie hair care range, it’s the smell. Oh my Gosh, heaven in a bottle. When I was on holiday for the first couple of days I used an Aussie shampoo and not only did it leave my hair feeling and looking great, it smelt great too. So when Aussie announced they would bring out a shower gel range, I was pretty excited. This is the one that smells just like the shampoo I used whilst I was away. Need it in my life! Not only do I want this to take away with us to use during our time in London, but I want it to use anyway. I’ve wanted to try it for ages, but I refuse to buy it until it is on offer! I want to try all the different versions, although I can see me liking this one the most.

  • Quickies Nail Varnish Remover Travel Pot.

I don’t know if I’ll pick this up, but it’s always a good idea to think about. When I went to Bristol I didn’t paint my nails, but when I got there I did, due to picking up some nail polishes. I’m pretty sure I’m going to be painting my nails this time, before I go but I have contemplating painting them again whilst I’m there. So something like this can come in handy for if I need to remove my nail polish quickly, or if I paint them and make any mess. At a ยฃ1, you’re not going to break the bank. If I pick any up, it’ll be a last-minute thing.

  • My Neighbour Totoro Sweatshirt.

I’ve seen this in the past on eBay and contemplated buying it, but in the end I left it. However, I had my eye on it again… Whether I pick it up for London or not is another story. My boyfriend asked me what I would be wearing for Hyper Japan, and I honestly don’t know! I want to make a statement of course and look awesome whilst doing it, and this sweater could be something cool to rock up wearing. However, I need to save money and I have other items in my wardrobe I can throw on for the day. If I pick this up, again it’ll be very last-minute…

So that’s my wish list for London! I will of course be basing my July wish list around what I am hoping to pick up in London… I might even do a Lush Oxford wish list too… We shall see!

Do you have any suggestions of what I should take with me to London? Let me know in the comments!

I hope everyone is having a great week.

Take care and see you soon!

Secondary School Nostalgia!

A random post but sod it, who doesn’t love a bit of nostalgia eh?

From 2001 to 2006 I attended secondary school and they were a mixture of some of the best and worst times of my life. But some of the best times are when I look back to all the awesome trends we have flying around and how they’re now making a comeback.

What really inspired me to write this post was the story I am writing for my dissertation at university. It focuses on a girl between 2001 to 2008 and the nostalgia I am feeling writing about it towards the start of 00’s is making me feel so nice and fuzzy instead.

I wish I could go back to this time. I legit want a time machine!

But alas, I can’t get hold of one right now, so I thought I would share my nostalgia list with you and things that remind me of secondary school.

  • Davidoff Cool Water EDT.

This was probably the first perfume I owned as a teenager (alongside Thierry Mugler’s Angel) and I loved it! I used to spritz this all over my uniform and then head to school. I always got compliments on it too and at the same time my mom and one of my cousin’s wore this. However over the years my nose has changed and I no longer love this perfume, but I rather hate it! I smelt it recently to try and get some memories back, but urgh vile! I never remember it smelling so strong and cheap. For an EDT it is a really strong scent. I did love this though as a teen and I don’t have any regrets! I smelt damn good! ๐Ÿ˜›

  • Bath pearls.

Does anyone remember these? Where were you if you don’t? I remember these being a weekend treat for myself after a long week of school. I would run a hot bath and pop one of these into the tub. I love bath pearls even now! They give some essential oils to your bath and smell gorgeous too. The Body Shop used to sell these and my mom always treated me to some whenever we went shopping together. Over the years though, bath pearls have sort of vanished and the only place I’ve been able to find them now as Wilko’s own brand, which are really nice. I used to love coconut and strawberry flavours. These have now been replaced by Lush’s bath bombs and bubble bars.

  • Light up dummy.

I recently spoke to someone about these and I thought me and my cousin’s were the only ones to know about this craze, but alas, everyone else did too. I remember a time when flashing dummies were in and everyone apart from me had one. These were popular with ravers and clubbers, which of course we were WAY too young to be involved in. So both my cousin’s owned these dummies and I didn’t, and it sucked! By the time I found one to buy, these were well out of fashion. I’d be half tempted to try and bring the craze back though. These were fun in the early nights and later nights when it was dark out and you were still playing. They only cost a couple of quid too from poundshops and markets. Bargain!

  • Ali G Indahouse.

When this film came out everyone in my year loved it… Well most people anyway. And (this is how pathetic the people in my year were) if you had watched this, you were pretty cool, which at the time made me feel awesome because I had infact watched it. So much so I knew most of the funniest lines and people loved me because of it! However, I look back and cringe at the fact that I felt cool for watching this. Either way, I loved this film so much. I could do the finger clicked business and everything. It just makes me laugh. And I still can’t believe Martin Freeman is in this, he plays his character really well and he always makes me giggle. If you haven’t watched this film, do! Because it’s the perfect stereotype for how people used to be in the 00’s like Ali G… And possibly some people still today!

  • Bubblegum Club.

I LOVED the Bubblegum Club and the characters in secondary school! If I ever found anything in the shops with the characters on, I often spent my pocket money on it. We all loved them in class too and often spent ICT classes making Powerpoint presentations with little gifs of them all to create discos, and such like that. We also used to discuss which one of us amongst the class were certain characters. Mine was usually rock chick, which makes sense still even now! One item I fondly remember buying by the Bubblegum Club are some lip balms my mom bought for me from New Look. There were five different colours/scents and I used to use a different one each day at school. I felt really cool having them.

  • MySpace

The second time we got internet in our house, was when MySpace was all the rage and everyone and their pet had an account. My cousin set mine up and I met so many people on it. Even some of my oldest friends I met through chatting to them on MySpace, moving onto MSN from there. You could personalise your page using HTML coding, pop your favourite song on for everyone to enjoy when they went to your page, as well as friend loads of artists, bands, and celebrities. It was the place to be but then Facebook came along… and when MySpace changed it’s layout, that’s when it really went downhill! I recently logged into my account and it really has changed. It doesn’t look as good anymore. But it was fun to try and stalk people. ๐Ÿ˜›

  • Scented gel pens.

Most people had these at school, at least one in their pencil case. I had all of them! I used my pocket money on them whenever new ones came out and even received them for birthday and Christmas presents. I still use my scented gel pens now. At one point they were all I used at school and everyone loved me because of it. I especially loved the dark blue one that smelt of soda and the black that smelt like cola as I used these for my uni work. My teachers used to sniff the pages of my notebooks whenever they marked my work during class. I want to get the whole range of scented gel pens again so I can use them for my uni work. But I can’t find them online at the moment, which sucks.

  • Rimmel Sweet Jelly lip gloss.

I remember when these first came out and I adored them! I loved lip gloss as a teenager and rarely used lipsticks. I would apply these before and after classes, as well as during toilet breaks. I was naughty and during my GCSE’s I would sneak off to the toilet to apply my lip products… As well as pee! I did go there for the toilet! But everyone had this lip gloss when it first came out. I had both the clear and a pinky red shade. If I didn’t wear them at school, I wore them during the weekends. I felt somewhat cute wearing lip gloss, especially if it was pink or red. It seems times haven’t changed in that sense! But what I loved most about these was that they smelt and tasted like fruits. It was delicious. It’s a shame they got rid of these.

  • Roll on glitter.

Who DIDN’T like this back in the day? Hell we all still love it now, don’t we? I loved the roll on body glitter and each time I used one up, I got a new one. You could get spray on body glitter with scents, roll on, tubs, everything! These were used mostly on upper arms, collar bone, and the face, mostly next to your eyes and above your cheeks. My cousin’s were crazy for these and I only got into the whole glitter phase after it started to die out. I remember buying myself some roll on glitter and wearing it to the school disco. I felt so cool and hip! Oh those were the days. Only needing to worry about where to apply body glitter. Sigh.

  • Lip Smacker lip balm.

I remember when this first came out in the UK and I bought almost all of the stand in my local Superdrug. My mom was with me at the time and wasn’t too pleased that I spent ยฃ10 on lip balms. They were worth it though. I used them all the time at school and I don’t ever remember seeing anyone else, other than one girl using Lip Smackers. They clearly weren’t as hip and with it as we both were. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Then Lip Smackers vanished from my local Superdrug and I was really gutted. Since then I’ve tried some of their newer flavours and they are great and kept my lips lovely and soft.

  • Bang on The Door – Groovy Chick character.

Every girl I knew KNEW about Bang on The Door and either had some sort of object with the characters on, or craved something. I was a mix of the two. Most of the girls in my school had notebooks and journals with the characters on but as much as I wanted a notebook myself, they cost nearly ยฃ10! That’s expensive for a teen who doesn’t have a job! I remember seeing BOTD and being jealous of anyone who owned anything like it. I did have a few pieces myself, but they were never as cool as what everyone else had. I did some research whilst writing this post and discovered that BOTD are apparently bringing back Groovy Chick, and their retro pieces! I bet all 20 somethings are feeling a little nostalgic right now? Huh?

So that was my nostalgia post! Do you remember any of the items and things I mentioned? Hey, did you own any or hate any? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

I know throughout May to September whilst I’m writing my dissertation I’m going to continue feeling the nostalgia.

Uni is the reason I have been so quiet lately but as soon as May 21st rolls around, things will be alright.

I hope all my readers are well and enjoying Spring so far.

Take care all and see you soon.

Badged up for Spring & Summer – What I Wore (12th April 2015)

Doesn’t hurt to start the post with a silly picture!

I haven’t made a what I wore post for ages and I already intend to have another one up on my blog towards the end of the month. I used to love doing these posts and being able to show off my unique style. These days however I either don’t have time, or make zero effort.

I recently picked up a new jacket though from Topshop and it’s one I’ve wanted for months. So long infact I mentioned it in a wish list post last year. June to be exact. I remember eying this up in Coventry and wanting to buy it. Then stating I would pick it up when I went to Bristol. I never did mind and in December and Januaryย  it went into the sales. I went to pick it up then so many times, but I never did due to trying to save money. I do regret that, especially when I looked for it again and it was gone. I was gutted.

Only recently did I think about it again and check out eBay. I’m a huge fan of eBay and have been for a long time, something regular readers on my blog will know!

This jacket (from memory) was originally ยฃ50-ยฃ60, it went into the sale for ยฃ25-ยฃ30 and I picked this up on eBay for ยฃ25.50. I’m happy with that! Yes it was worn a few times by the original owner and it needed a wash, but that doesn’t bother me at all.

Glasses โ€“ Ernest Hemingway.

Lips โ€“ Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in Eastend Snob.

Black t-shirt (underneath jacket) โ€“ Primark.

American flag denim shorts (underneath jacket) – Topshop.

Tights โ€“ Tesco.

Sneakers – Vans (LE Star Wars Darth Vader).

I love it and since buying it I’ve worn it constantly. I love my parka from Topshop for cold spring and autumn days, and especially for freezing cold winter. But for the warmer days in spring and autumn, and definitely hot summer days, I NEEDED a good transition jacket.

This is perfect. I’ve always loved the military style look and ten years ago I owned a jacket exactly the same as this. If it still fit me, I would wear it.

I feel so confident and great when I wear this and it’s something I’ll be excited to create more looks and posts about in the future.

I really enjoyed taking these pictures, especially some of the ones my boyfriend took closer to my face as they just look really cool. It was also cool to edit these images and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Me and my boyfriend had a lovely day out and whilst the weather wasn’t amazing, it was just great to walk around and relax. We went out for a pub lunch too and it was nice to just get out of the house and do something other than uni work!

I can’t wait for the nicer weather, I’m excited.

What did you think of my outfit? Let me know in the comments.

Until next time, take care all and see you soon.

March Favourites 2015

Wow it’s April already and I’m somewhat excited for this month. It’s my boyfriends birthday in a couple of weeks and I can’t wait to give him his presents.

As well as that it’s Easter and soon we can have a couple of lazy days to eat chocolate… Well you might be able to, but I probably won’t!

Either way March flew by and it was a pretty decent month. It was hard to try and think of some favourites as I hadn’t even realised how much I was even using some of my products until I looked around my room and pretending I was getting ready to go out.

That sounds bizarre I know, but here we go.

  • Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in Eastend Snob.

I’ve heard nothing but good things about this lip liner, so after swatching it in Boots, I decided to pick it up. Since buying this I’ve done nothing but use it. This is a gorgeous pink nude lip liner that works on its own or underneath a lip colour of a similar shade. The best thing about this lip liner is the packaging. It isn’t one you need to sharpen (which I HATE) and instead is one you quickly twist up to get more pencil. It’s also really creamy to apply but I always pop some lip balm on underneath to keep my lips moisturised, as well as give myself some more comfort when applying this. I’ll hopefully review this soon, as it’s just too good not to. But even so, I doubt there is much point as this lip liner is loved by so many that people probably already know how good it is. We shall see!

  • Lush Pot O’ Gold Shower Jelly.

I’ve really started to get back into the shower products by Lush lately and I find they’re at a pretty decent price too. Their Mother’s Day range has now come and gone and we currently only have the Easter range left to take advantage of whilst it’s around. Which of course I have done. I remember smelling this jelly a while ago and I didn’t think much about it, but when I popped back in a few weeks ago I fell in love and bought it straight away. It smells just like Honey I Washed The Kids Soap which I LOVE. Not only that but it’s a gorgeous yellow gold colour and gives off a bit of shimmer when you use it. I’m going to be reviewing this before it leaves us soon as it’s just too good not to talk about. I can’t wait to review it now.

  • Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy EDP.

I’ve mentioned this perfume time and time again on my blog and this is my second, maybe third bottle of this now. It’s by far one of my favourites and will always be one I pop on during the summer too. This smells yummy and of berries, especially blueberries and is very strong too. It doesn’t remind me of the original Fantasy in any way, shape, or form (which I also really like) which is what I love the most about it. The bottle even looks gorgeous! This is a strong perfume too and whenever I wear it out I get compliments of how nice I smell, which I can’t complain about! Just love this one so much.

  • Nivea Rescue & Care Hand Balm.

My hand creams have been letting me down lately, even my L’Occitane ones which I’m pretty disappointed about. So whilst I was out food shopping I picked this one up which was on offer at the time. It’s one of the best hand creams I’ve bought for a long time! I use this before I pop out the house for the day and it leaves my hands lovely and soft for ages. It also has a light and pleasant smell to it which I really like. For a hand cream that is aimed towards dry and chapped hands, it isn’t thick which is another plus for me. I’d definitely pick this up again, probably for my bag next.

  • Burt’s Bees Refreshing Lip Balm in Pink Grapefruit.

This was one of my Christmas presents from my friend Poppy and it’s one I’ve really enjoyed using since then. I love Burt’s Bees lip balms and sadly I recently accidentally left my one in my work trousers, which resulted in a ruined lip balm. I was gutted but oh well, shit happens. Either way the Burt’s Bees lip balms really are moisturising and I find this one is rather thick for a tube too which I love. I’ve been applying this throughout the day when I’m at home, as well as in the evenings and before bed. It smells of pink grapefruit which really wakes you up if you use it in the morning. I would love to try more Burt’s Bees in the future!

So those were my favourites for this month. What products have you been enjoying? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

Until next time, take care all and see you soon.

November Favourites 2014

Christmas is just around the corner and as I say every favourites post, I can’t believe how fast the year has gone. To think in less than a months time it’ll be a New Year, Christmas will be over and I’ll be older.

November went by really quickly and it actually took me ages to try and think about what my favourites were throughout the month, as it just flashed by!

Eventually I came up with my ten favourites and here they are.

  • Yankee Candle’s Simply Home Candle in Lemon Cream.

I’ve owned this candle for quite a while, but since having the house to myself the past two weeks, my boyfriend and I have been burning this loads as we love the smell and look how low down it is now! This was really cheap too from a market nearby where I live, only ยฃ6 and this is a medium jar, which usually retails for ยฃ9, so I did get it at a bargain. I haven’t seen this for sale in-store anywhere since buying it, which sucks as it smells delicious. It reminds me of lemon cake, most of all like the one you can get from Costa Coffee, which just smells lush! It’s a really strong candle too and when I first used to burn this I used to have to keep my window open as it used to give me a headache. I’ll definitely buy this again in the future, as well as one of the Simply Home candles again as they’re a great price and are actually Yankee Candles, but under a different name. They’re worth just as much as the Yankee Candles themselves. Check these out if you haven’t before.

  • The Body Shop Glazed Apple Shower Gel.

I LOVE the Glazed Apple collection from The Body Shop this Christmas and I’ll really be sad to see this go at the end of the month. I love apple scents and this really does smell of fresh apples, but with a sweet scent too. My friend Mali over on her blog (link) reviewed this not long after it came out in October and described it as smelling like Hubba Bubba apple bubblegum and she’s so right! I love using this shower gel in the mornings before I head to university as I smell of it for a while before I leave the house and the fresh but sweet apple scent really does wake you up. It makes lots of lovely bubbles and a little bit of it goes a long way. My boyfriends been using this loads too and he loves it. I’ve also tried the hand cream from this collection and have literally just ordered the bubble bath too. I’m excited to try it out! I recommend picking up the Glazed Apple products as soon as possible as soon enough Christmas will be over and these will be coming off of the shelves too.

  • Angel by Thierry Mugler EDP.

Sadly a few months back I ran out of my Angel and luckily I have a refillable bottle so it doesn’t cost me much to get my star bottle refilled if I want to. So for less than ยฃ30 my Dad was lovely enough to go and get it refilled for me and since then I’ve been using Angel once again. This is one of my favourite perfumes and has been since it came out in the early 90’s. My Mom used to wear this loads when I was a kid and because of it, the scent always reminds me of her. I love wearing this throughout the winter season as it’s such a warming scent and it lasts ages too so if I’m busy I don’t have to worry about topping it up every hour or so. If you’re thinking of getting this someone for Christmas, or even yourself definitely pick up the refill bottle! You save so much money in the long run.

  • Dettol Moisturise Aloe Vera & Milk Protein Hand Wash.

The Dettol hand wash is back on my sink and boy have I missed it! I love the Dettol hand washes, they’re sure to clean your hands from bacteria, smell delicious and leave my hands feeling moisturised and lovely. This was on offer in Asda for just 95p, which I thought was great considering the Dettol hand washes are ยฃ1-ยฃ2 usually. This smells delicious and I can’t even describe the scent, other than fresh and like milk and honey. I’ll definitely be picking this up again as it’s made my hand lovely and soft, and not many hand washes out there does that to my hands.

  • The Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector.

I still own this hand cream and I have to just say how lovely it is! Since picking this up on my 24th at the start of the year it has done nothing but keep my hands soft. This is definitely one for autumn and winter as it’s a very thick hand cream that is designed for dry to very dry hands, which I suffer from terribly at this time due to my eczema. However, as of yet I haven’t had any problems (touch wood!) and I have a feeling it’s because of using this hand cream everyday. I got this for ยฃ5.00, instead of the full price of ยฃ11.00 and whilst it is expensive it really is worth the money! I recommend this and have written a review for it in the past (check that out here) and I will tell people to try this over and over again as it really is amazing and a real skin saver!

  • Bath & Body Works Pocketbac Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel in Graham Cracker Marshmallow.

I love Bath & Body Works, but I hate that they aren’t available in this country, GRR! I usually pick up my Pocketbac’s from eBay and that is where I bought this one from. This hand sanitizer smells of yummy chocolate crackers and it really is delicious. As all Pocketbac’s the scent is really strong and lasts ages. I’m usually asked what perfume I’ve put on whenever I use this as it just smells THAT strong, never a bad thing. As well as that it keeps my hands germ free and clean throughout the day. I love using this in class as my lectures are due to start and it really is a treat to use. I always sniff my hands after use too and it really does smell yummy. If you like the sound of this just go and search for it on eBay, I’m sure you’ll find one on there somewhere.

  • Carmex Lip Balm in Strawberry.

I’ve posted about this lip balm various times on my blog and even written about it in the past (which you can check out here) and once again it is rearing it’s strawberry scented head. I love using the original Carmex but as that is seeing it’s last days I have started to use the Strawberry one more. This smells lightly of Strawberries and you can taste it a little when you put it on the lips, but it isn’t anything major. This lip balm is gorgeous and a little bit of it goes a long way. I love using this alone and under lip products. My lips over the years have been dry and chapped throughout the winter season, but since discovering Carmex last summer my lips since have been lovely and soft… I do use other lip balms by the way! I find this one works nice underneath lip glosses but with lipsticks (depending on the formula) it doesn’t work as well if you don’t blot afterwards… But I often do this anyway. I’m going to try the cherry flavour when this has finished, can’t wait!

  • Rimmel Glitter Bomb Top Coat in Bedazzle.

This was one of my more recent beauty purchases and it’s a gorgeous glitter top coat. I know I don’t need anymore make up products, I know this but who can deny something as lovely as this? This top coat is a dupe of OPI’s Polka.com nail lacquer and I’d wanted that nail polish for nearly two years, so the fact that I have bought a great dupe for over half the price isn’t bad. I need to post a review of these in the next few weeks before Christmas and New Year roll around, but this is such a great top coat to wear alone or over a nail polish colour. It has purple, blue and pink glitter running throughout and is really girly! Perfect for New Years parties and I can see me wearing this loads in December.

  • Vaseline Lip Therapy with Aloe Vera.

Okay I want to start this by saying I don’t use this on my lips, I use it on my eyebrows… Yes I know that sounds weird but hear me out. I have HUGE eyebrows and without a gel or Vaseline to keep them looking neat and tidy they would be an unruly mess! I apply a little of this onto my eyebrows and then use an eyebrow/eyelash comb to smooth them down and make them look tidy and straight. I recommend this if you have thick eyebrows like I do, I wouldn’t wish to use a coloured gel on mine as they’re black so they can’t really become any darker than they are already. Plus Vaseline doesn’t cost much either, which makes my wallet happy.

  • Maybelline Color Elixir Lip Lacquer in Raspberry Rhapsody.

I wrote a review (you can check that out here) about these when they first came out and ever since I’ve loved these and have been meaning to order some more for when I go on holiday in the New Year (which I’ll do after Christmas!) as they’re just such lovely shades. This is definitely one of my favourite shades as it’s a gorgeous purpley pink shade and looks beautiful on the lips, leaving a slight stain as well as keeping them moisturised and feeling great. I often opt for these if I’m not in the mood to wear a lipstick as they’re easy to apply and last ages so I don’t feel the need to reapply them often. If you haven’t tried these yet, get from under that rock you’re clearly hiding underneath and give these a go!

So those were my favourite products throughout November! I can’t believe it’s December already. Speaking of which, what do you all think of my new header? Christmassy huh?

What did you like using in November? Let me know in the comments.

Until next time, take care all.
