June Favourites ’18

I cannot believe it is July! I ended off June by getting incredibly drunk and nursing a monster of a hangover with McDonalds chicken nuggets. xD

Oh dear. It’s a lovely warm day though, I’m between doing housework and blog work and getting ready to go out to a wedding this evening. I usually get my monthly blog posts written up and scheduled about a week in advance, but sadly that isn’t the case this month… OOPS! πŸ˜›

Anyway, enough blabbering, on with the favourites this month! πŸ˜€

  • Australian Bodycare Tea Tree Oil Skin Wash.

If there is a product that I have REALLY loved lately, it’s definitely this tea tree skin wash, which you can use all over your body, including your face. My skin has been breaking out really bad lately, so much so that I worried I might have acne. Alas, it was just some of the products I was using on my skin as since I started using this stuff on my face it has changed dramatically! Not only that but I use it on my body too as a shower gel and I always get out of the shower feeling fresh and clean! I always forget how much I love this skin wash and from now on it’s definitely going to be a constant piece of my shower/bath!

  • Simple Kind To Eyes Soothing Eye Balm.

I recently picked up this old favourite again as I was in need of a new eye gel. I’ve used this on and off over the years and never had a problem with it, but sometimes I’ve found it to be too expensive for what it is and that’s why I didn’t pick one up. However, recently I found it at a price I was willing to pay and oh man, I forgot how great this eye balm is! As many of us Brits know, it’s been really hot in the UK most of June so this eye balm has come in handy for helping cool down my eyes early in the morning, as well as in the evening before bed.

  • L’Occitane Almond Foot Cream.

I don’t actually know if L’Occitane even sell this anymore but I’ve started using it lately to help soften my feet. On and off for about a year now I appear to now have eczema on one of my feet, which sucks. Since using this food cream in the mornings before work the eczema has improved dramatically! Some days I don’t use it, but most days I do. Due to the almond it smells really good too and has a matte texture to it so it doesn’t leave your feet feeling greasy after use, which is great!

  • Le Mini Macaron Gel Manicure Kit in Midnight Blueberry.

I’ve wanted to try the Le Mini Macaron gel kits for agggges! It started off as a Kickstarter and I remember discovering it after it had finished. I’ve had my eye on the kits online for a while but I didn’t feel that the Β£30-Β£35 price tag was really worth it for what you get. However, recently House of Fraser had some of the kits on offer for just Β£10! So I finally picked one up. I’m so glad I did as I now have a new found love for gel nail polish and since then I’ve used more gel polishes with it than the one provided in the kit. Sadly House of Fraser don’t have anymore of these kits left. 😦

  • Tangle Teezer The Ultimate Finishing Brush.

I picked up this hair brush when I went to Bristol at the start of June and oh my God, it has changed my life so much! For about 5-6 years now I’ve been using this style of brush, but never the Tangle Teezer brand. I knew I was in need of a new hair brush so I decided to use my Boots points to pick up one of these brushes, as well as their smoothing tool brush which you use when blow drying your hair. Their brushes are just amazing and I cannot wait to review them both on my blog.

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 10.

Holy shit this season was crazy of RuPaul’s Drag Race and I’m not going to lie or reveal any spoilers, but I am so annoyed at who won… But whatever. If there was one queen on this season who I loved to the moon and back, it’s Monet x Change. She is such an amazing queen and she made me laugh constantly and SHE SHOULD HAVE FUCKING ONE! My favourite moment in this season is the clip I’ve posted above, and it’s definitely one of my favourite moments EVER! πŸ˜€

Favourite Film – The Shawshank Redemption.

This is such a random film to have on my favourites this month, but it’s probably the only one I’ve actually watched. I fancied watching it after realising that Hank in Detroit:Become Human is the mean prison ward in this film! I just felt the need to watch it again really and I always forget what an amazing film this is. I’m watching it right now as I write this blog post… πŸ˜›

Image taken from giphy.com

Favourite Book – Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid.

I bought quite a few Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid manga’s in June as 2 of them came out. I always love when I get the newest volume because I can carry on where the anime left off. I don’t feel like I need to write too much about this manga series as I feel like I wrote WAY TOO MUCH about them throughout June. πŸ˜›

Favourite Song/Album/Artist – Panic! At The Disco – A Fever You Can’t Swear Out.

I don’t know quite why, but recently on my journeys to and from work I’ve been mostly listening toΒ A Fever You Can’t Sweat OutΒ and it really took me back to over 10 years ago when it came out. I remember going and buying it one weekend and I listened to it so much at school. I just forgot how much I love it and it’s such a great album for summer too. I don’t care how old the album is, it’s still a classic!

Favourite Game – VR Chat and Pokemon GO.

Well this is a game I’ve wanted to play for the longest time and although I only have a handful of times, I LOVE IT SO MUCH! The first time I went on the game I was incredibly overwhelmed and confused, I didn’t even turn my microphone on as I was too anxious to talk. The second time I went on the microphone was on and I had an amazing time with random people, one even told me how to do bits and pieces on there and it was lovely. As I wore a skin of an anime girl, I become some Ugandan Knuckles’s queen! It was hilarious and Dane filmed the whole thing. I’m really hoping to start making gaming videos with Dane. Keep eyes peeled for that in the future. πŸ˜›

I couldn’t not talk about Pokemon GO this month as I recently downloaded it again and since playing it with Dane and our friends I am in love with it! πŸ˜€ We’ve been out with our friends a few times now to play it and walked around our area as well as parks. I’ve also bought the Pokemon GO Plus so I can still play whilst I’m out and about without pulling my phone out of my handbag. I’ll be talking about that very soon! But yeah, I love Pokemon Go and I cannot wait to play it more over the summer.

So those are my favourites from June! What were you loving throughout last month? Make sure to let me know in the comments.

Until next time, I hope you all have a lovely day and are enjoying the warm weather.

June Favourites ’17

It is now July and month seven of the year! 2017 is going by so quickly and whilst a part of me is somewhat glad about that, it’s also always creepy when we edge into another month. Soon it’ll be August bank holiday, then holiday and autumn, then Halloween and bonfire night, and then Christmas and New Year. Fuck. Stop time just for a bit. πŸ˜›

I loved all my favourites from last month as I discovered some new beauty products and was reminded how good some oldies are too. So I hope you enjoy this months favourites post. ^_^

  • Imperial Leather Foamy Banana Hand Wash.

I’ve been eyeing up this hand wash for ages, but never bought it as me and Dane have had LOADS of hand washes to get through. Then towards the end of the month I was able to pick up a couple of these in Poundland. They smell amazing, just like the shower cream and bubble bath. So far since me using it my eczema hasn’t disliked it, so I’m hoping and keeping fingers crossed that I’ll be okay with it! If so I’ll be buying this and using it as our regular hand wash for as long as possible. πŸ˜›

  • Nivea Blueberry Blush Lip Butter.

I picked this lip butter up randomly when on an alcohol run before going to a friends BBQ. I’d forgotten my tin of Vaseline in the house and I KNEW I would need something for my lips. I’ve mentioned a few times this past week that my lips are still playing up on and off so I need constant moisture to keep my lips soft and from splitting again. This lip butter is amazing! I love blueberry scented things so this smells divine, but it’s also a thick lip butter which actually feels like it’s working. I have it for around the house as well as for in my handbag when I want something thick on my lips. I recommend these though if you’re not a fan of Vaseline and want to try something different.

  • L’Oreal Paris Hydra Genius Liquid Care in Normal To Combination.

I recently reviewed this (which you can read here) and I love it so much! June has been a pretty hot month and we had some of the hottest days of the year during the month. This liquid moisturiser was wonderful to use towards the end of the month and really is something that had to feature on here! It’s also helped my skin quite a bit with my oily t-zone. Can’t complain about that at all! πŸ˜›

  • MUA Luxe Inked Lip Stain in Sangria.

This is a lip stain I bought months ago but hardly used, until recently. I tried blending this with the shade Dewberry to create blended look with my lipstick. Not only did it look great when I applied it but it lasted ages too, which I was really happy with! It’s so comfortable to wear especially in the warm weather. My only issue with it is it smells and tastes disgusting! >.<

  • The Body Shop Oils of Life Twin-Ball Facial Massager.

This is a product I bought over a year ago and one I had hardly used until recently. With the warmer weather I thought it would be nice to use this massager on my skin after my serum and moisturiser. This has especially worked well teamed up with hydra genius! Due to the metal balls it feels lovely and cooling on the skin which I love the most about it. I don’t know if I’ve noticed any differences in my skin Β by using it yet however. I also use this under my eyes after applying my eye gel to help with my eye bags. The Body Shop have in fact released one specifically for the eye area so I’ll be buying that one very soon!

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 9.

Oh my God what a season this one has been! It’s definitely been one of my favourites for a long time and that is just purely down to Sasha Velour, who in turn has become my favourite drag queen. At the time of writing this (21st June AKA 2 days before the final!) I am really rooting for her to win this season. She fucking deserves it to be honest. She’s funny, unique, beautiful and not to mention down to earth and not fucking fake. I hate fake queens so damn much!

EDIT: HOLY FUCKING SHIT MY GIRL WON! I am so damn happy that Sasha won season 9! She’s the only queen who wasn’t in the bottom two throughout the competition and I only realised that whilst watching it. That shit she pulled with the rose petals. Fuck yes my lady!!! I have to add that I also loved Peppermint’s performance too and I’m very glad that she came second! I’ve already said that as soon as Sasha Velour announces doing some dates in the UK I WILL be going! πŸ˜€

Favourite Film – Split.

After 5 months of saying we would watch it, me and Dane FINALLY watched Split and let me tell you, I loved it. I wanted more from James McAvoy’s character as I loved him so much. He’s also one of my favourite actors and has been since the start of his career when he played Steve in Shameless (the UK one of course, not the shitty American version!). I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews about this film and how some people loved it and some hated it. I honestly can understand why people didn’t like it, but I felt it worked really well and the twist at the end was pretty awesome. It’s very mental health related and that’s something you find out at the end which is really interesting. It just worked so damn well and McAvoy’s acting was fucking perfect.

Favourite Book – Erm…

I’m not going to lie. I haven;t been reading fuck all this month. I keep meaning to take Bridget Jones Mad About the Boy to work but I always forget. That and I feel like I hardly get any time to even read a decent amount. I have ordered some manga recently so I’m sure I’ll be reading that soon. ^_^

Favourite Song – Persona 5 OST – Behind The Mask (Instrumental).

I feel like I do nothing but talk about this game and erm why the fuck shouldn’t I? IT’S AMAZING! I am legit spending my day off tomorrow by playing this and doing housework. That is so sad. πŸ˜› ANYWAY! The soundtrack from this game is an actual God send for me and I’m fully addicted to it. I need to download it as I want it to listen to whilst on holiday. I’ve found in the past that it’s really good to listen to whilst doing blog work as it’s really interesting. If you love jazz music, you’ll love this album. There is also a version of the song with lyrics/singing but I prefer the instrumental version.

Favourite Game – Pokemon Magikarp Jump.

I so desperately wanted to talk about Persona 5 again, but I can’t possibly. I spoke about it last month. πŸ˜› BUT I have been loving this iPhone game! It’s an official Pokemon game and has been out about a month now. You basically train your Magikarp to jump as high as possible so that it can compete against other Magikarp! It’s kind of addicting and I often play it on my lunch break at work. I know a lot of people who have given it a go and got very bored of it, often deleting it. I love it though! What I find is the best thing about it? You don’t need to be on a wifi nextwork or 3G/4G to play it. WIN WIN!

So those are my favourites from last month. What products were you loving? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time take care all and have a lovely weekend.

May Favourites ’17

Well hello June! Both mine and Dane’s month of big things, including our 4 year anniversary and also our first year anniversary of buying our house.

May has been nothing but shit to be perfectly honest. The start of the month saw me really poorly and without going into detail work has been crap. This has sadly resulted in my mental health getting worse and me relapsing. I’ll have to go into more detail about this in another post though.

BUT June! I’m seeing it as a month for improvement! Getting myself a better job, saving up better for our holiday and getting myself better.

May was the month that I was able to start wearing my lipsticks again WHICH IS AMAZING NEWS! I’ve never been so happy as to wear my red MAC lipstick. πŸ˜›

Of course I have some other favourites so lets get to it!

  • Boots Extracts Marshmallow and Peppermint Body Scrub.

This is a body scrub I picked up in the sales in the marshmallow and peppermint gift set. I really wanted to get one of these so I was really pleased that I found one on New Years Eve on a trip to town with Dane! I’ve already used the shower gel and I use the hand cream at work, which is amazing. The body butter it equally as good. The body scrub isn’t the best in the world but it certainly does the job! I just wish it was rougher really as whilst I have sensitive skin I still like to feel that something it working and doing the job. Obviously this was limited edition for Christmas so it can’t be bought now (well, unless it’s on eBay) so yeah… πŸ˜›

  • Palmolive Gourmet Mint Shake Body Butter Shower Cream.

I LOVE these shower creams so damn much, I can’t even put into words! Every time me and Dane see these on offer whilst out doing our food shop we pick a couple up. Whilst the chocolate one is my favourite this is a new one me and Dane picked up to try and og my… It was gorgeous! πŸ˜€ Sadly I don’t have the bottle anymore as we used it all up. We’re currently using the vanilla one, which is equally amazing! These are really thick shower creams and a little really does go a long way! This always leaves my skin feel soft and smooth and smelling amazing. The chocolate one is definitely the best but it doesn’t hurt to try the others! If you haven’t tried these yet PLEASE get some and give it a go. I doubt you’ll regret it. πŸ˜›

  • Victoria’s Secret Victoria EDP.

Late last year I travelled down to Chichester for work and after I’d finished any shifts I’d done there I was able to go and do whatever I wanted for the rest of the day. Not going to lie, most of the time I ventured to the shops as I was so bored in the hotel room otherwise! I went into the town centre on my last day and ended up going in TK Maxx to do a bit of retail therapy. Among some Korean beauty items I picked up this perfume. Whenever I venture into Victoria’s Secret I Β have a smell of the perfumes in there to see what they’re like. They’re nothing special to be honest but they look great because of what they are. You know? This is a 50ml bottle and cost me about Β£25.99 from memory. It’s a great perfume but not as good as I remember… I use it for work really as a body spray more than anything. It’s like and not that heavy so it’s good if you work around food.

  • Chanel Rouge Coco Stylo Lipstick in shade Roman.

I’ve owned this for about a year now and I’ve probably only used it a Β handful of times. It’s a very creamy and glossy lipstick and due to that I find it’s a bit too sticky and heavy to use during work. This is however the first lipstick I wore since my lips being bad and I actually didn’t realise how easy and nice this lipstick is to wear. To get rid of that glossy feeling I blotted it a little and it lasted AGES! It’s also a really nice lipstick to wear during warm and muggy weather. It’s one I’ll be wearing more this year for sure. I miss wearing lipsticks instead of wearing liquid lipsticks all the time. This one is pretty moisturising too.

  • The Body Shop Peppermint Reviving PumiceΒ Foot Scrub.

I’ve loved this foot scrub for years and although I’ve had this new tub since January this year, I’ve hardly used it to be honest… I don’t know why… BUT I’ve recently started using it once a week to make sure my feet are lovely and soft! To date I haven’t found a foot scrub as good as this one. It doesn’t work miracles (for Β£7.50 you can’t expect that!) but it does help my feet be soft and smooth for a while! You can’t really go wrong and I recommend The Body Shop foot range to everyone. It’s definitely the best thing about The Body Shop.

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – Daria.

Daria has been around for years and whilst I have always known about it, I’d never actually watched it until recently. At the start of May I was really poorly with a stomach bug and for nearly a week was bedridden due to it. So whilst I had to stay in bed I decided to binge watch all of season one and half of season two. I never realised how good it was to be honest as well as Β how much I can relate to both Daria and Jane! I love them both so much, I want two besties just like them. πŸ˜› Even though me and my best friend Gabriella are probably like them anyway! xD I really need to continue watching it really and when I have my week off in a few weeks time I think I’ll binge watch it from the start with Dane, as I discovered he likes the show too. πŸ˜€

Favourite Film – Popstar: Never Stop Stopping.

This film isn’t new, in fact it’s been out for a year now and it’s one me and Dane have watched a couple of times now. It’s hilarious to be honest! If you love The Lonely Island then you will love this film as it’s the same guys behind the band. It’s basically a piss take at Justin Bieber, as well as other pop bands and artists out there. The songs (as usual by The Lonely Island) are catchy and funny as fuck! There’s also loads of celebrity appearances including Justin Timberlake as a Japanese sushi chef, who is absolutely hilarious! If you haven’t watched this film yet then I recommend it.

Favourite Book – Bridget Jones’s About The Boy.

This is a book I bought back in 2015 after I returned from my holiday in Fuerteventura with my dad. I had read The Edge of Reason and fell in love with Bridget all over again. SO of course I had to pick up the third book! I haven’t read loads (I hardly get time to read books… Manga I appear to. :P) but oh my God it is lovely to read about Bridget again! I was inspired to pick it up after watching the third movie Bridget Jones’s Baby. Sorry ladies (and gents) of the world who love that film but I thought it was so tacky and just awful. It was so obvious all the way through who the dad would be and it just lacked anything that Bridget would do in my mind. Well most of the time anyway. She would complain constantly about how she’s going to be a crap mom, how she can’t smoke, how she can’t drink, how she’s gaining weight. I don’t recall any of that happening. I’ve also ordered the fourth book too, which is Helen Fielding’s take on it, which already sounds much better than the film!

Favourite Song – RuPaul “Jealous Of My Boogie” and “Glamazon”.

Β I’m not going to lie, I’ve never been a massive fan of the songs from RuPaul… I especially don’t like how he uses the show to advertise his new single… Sorry but yeah. This being said there has always been two songs that stand out to me, which are Jealous Of My Boogie (which I’ve added above) and Glamazon. I just love how catchy and upbeat both songs are. I find myself playing them in the bathroom whilst cleaning! I love the one I’ve linked about the most. I need to download some music very soon and these two will definitely be downloaded straight away.

Favourite Game – Persona 5.

No word of a lie, I haven’t enjoyed a game this much since I discovered Pokemon and Animal Crossing, which are two of my favourite game series. OH and South Park of course! πŸ˜› I haven’t been playing this nonstop due to being an adult, but if I could I totally would! I play it a couple of nights a week after work and I can’t wait until I play it next. I mean after I’ve typed up this blog post (and probably another) I might go downstairs and play it (although it’s 7.30pm now… I may be too late to go down and play. Sad face.) but we shall see!

I don’t know how to explain what the game is about and to be honest I want to review the game itself so I don’t want to go into too much detail! It’s like Pokemon to be honest but darker. πŸ˜›

Yeahhhh so those were my favourites for May! I can’t believe we are officially halfway through the year now. 2017 is going way too quickly and whilst I’m glad (kinda…) I’m also feeling like my life is flashing before my eyes and I’m not doing anything with it, which sucks. It’ll get better though…

What were your favourites from May? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time take care all!

Currently #3

It’s been a couple of weeks since I updated you on my life, and my currently posts… But that’s because I’ve been too damn busy to! With me working longer hours, and just life being busy in general it has prevented me from doing my next currently, until now at least!

I’ve been really poorly the past couple of days and as a result I’ve been lying in bed, miserable, and resting up… Whilst catching up on blog related matters! So I have finally have time to get on track with my blog, as well as get posts written up for whilst I’m on holiday.

So here is my third currently list!

Watching: I’ve recently discovered RuPaul’s Drag Race, and it’s safe to say I am obsessed. I started season 6 recently, and when I’ve watched this and season 7 I don’t know what I’m going to do with myself! I also don’t know where I’ll be watching season 7 yet as I’ve been watching them all (well apart from season 1 which I watched online) on Netflix. God bless Netflix! I never really thought it would be my sort of thing, but I just adore it, my boyfriend has even enjoyed watching it at times! My favourite winners have been Raja, Sharon Needles, and Jinkx Monsoon, the latter being my favourite. They were all just so different and alternative, the style that I love anyway! I can’t wait to see who will win season 6 now.

Playing: I haven’t really been playing much since I finished Life Is Strange but one game I have been loving lately is TsumTsum, the phone app. I’ve spoken about it in the past on previous currently posts. I love being able to play it on the go, whilst walking to and from work, and before I go to bed. It is a really relaxing game and one that I think people with anxiety like myself should play. On the topic of games, Nintendo recently announced that they will be releasing all the original Pokemon games (Red, Blue, and Yellow) on the Nintendo eShop for people to play! I cannot wait to relive my childhood, and I intend to buy them all to play!

Listening: I’ve been listening to Daft Punk’s latest album Random Access Memories. It’s by far one of my favourites of theirs and one that holds a big place in my heart. It came out the year my life changed dramatically in both good and bad ways, so it holds a very big place indeed. There are certain songs on the album that I love, one being in a YouTube video above. I just love Daft Punk so much, they’re by far one of my oldest and favourite bands. I’ve actually written a review of this album, and it’s pretty in-depth for anyone who may want to read it, I’ll link it here.

Image taken from weheartit.com

Eating: There isn’t any food that I’ve been eating much of lately to be honest… If anything my eating habits have gone rather odd. I find myself not having much appetite one day, and then I’ll want to eat everything another day. I recently tried a chicken, bacon, and three cheese toastie from Greggs. It was amazing and the thought of it at this moment in time is making my mouth water! A food I have found myself eating a lot is egg and chips… I don’t know why! It’s just so easy and simple to make to be fair. I had it for dinner earlier in the week when I was poorly and I loved it.

Wearing: The cold weather is slowly creeping back and with this it has meant I’ve needed to bring out my big parka back from out of the wardrobe. I love how fluffy it is and how huge the hood is on it. As well as this I have finally started to wear my new 101 Dalmatians Vans (post about those here) and they’re so cute and comfortable! I can’t wait to wear them on holiday next week. Speaking of coats too, I have dragged out my red cape out to wear for Christmas parties and popped on my cute new Pokemon pin badge (can see that here) so it shows my nerdy side!

Image taken from Skinny Dip London website

Wanting: There isn’t much I really want at the moment due to Christmas being just around the corner now (well just over a month away!) so meh I don’t know. There just isn’t much I am lusting after I guess. If there is one thing I want it’s more money to buy people’s Christmas presents, and time! Otherwise one thing I would like right now is the Skinny Dip London iPhone 6 Case with the gorgeous Glitter Unicorn pattern on it (can find that here) but I keep saying to myself to wait for it… I hope this has been bought for me for Christmas… πŸ˜›

So that was my third currently list! Which of these things are you currently doing at the moment? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time, take care all.
