Lush Snow Fairy Body Conditioner – Review

Woohoo the first Christmas Lush review of 2017… And most likely the last! My love for Lush has definitely faded over the years and sadly it’s due to a factor of reasons. One main one being money. I’ve either not had any spare income to buy Lush items, or I’ve bought so many products in the Boxing Day sales that I haven’t felt the need to buy anything else throughout the year!

At the moment though all of the Lush items I own are now out of my “Lush Box” in my bedroom and in my bathroom. They’re either in the cupboard, waiting to be used or on the side of my bath, being used.

One product in particular that I recently started using and was gifted last year by Dane’s parents is the Snow Fairy Body Conditioner.

Lush describe it as:

Pop your cherry; rich, hydrating washes await. Cherry infusion meets candy floss water to evoke all the fun of the fairground.

This has your usual Snow Fairy scent behind it, sickly and sweet and perfect for any Snow Fairy fan out there! When you open the lid of the tub you’re greeted not only by that smell, but also a candy floss pink body conditioner, as well as some iridescent/blue shimmer on the top! This goes after the first use however, which is a shame.

This is a product you use in the shower or bath after washing your skin. It’s like an in shower moisturiser/body lotion which you swill off after applying all over the skin! I’ve used shower moisturisers on and off over the years and they do really help to moisturise your skin!

Although my tub was gifted to me you can buy the 100g size for £8.50 or the 225g for £15.95.

I’m not going to lie, I was incredibly disappointed by this product. For years I’ve wanted to try the Christmas body conditioners, especially Christingle, so when Lush brought out Snow Fairy last year I KNEW I had to give them a go.

I’ve tried the body conditioners in the past too and didn’t have much luck. I’d previously tried the Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner, which again was gifted to me. I hated it and after a first use I threw the product away! Of course I kept my black tub though! Need to get them free face masks! 😛

I didn’t think Snow Fairy would be the same but alas I was proven to be wrong. I applied this to my skin and washed it off and I should have felt comfortable and moisturised, but all I felt was greasy and disgusting. I ended up having to use my shower gel (which ironically is Snow Fairy at the moment! :P) to wash off that greasy feeling. It was such a waste of time and I’m just glad it was my day off, otherwise I couldn’t have been late for work, as well as feeling uncomfortable during my shift.

I know this greasy feeling must feel amazing for someone with very dry skin and possibly a great product to use over new tattoos in the shower! It just didn’t work for me sadly and as I said, I was very disappointed about it.

However, I didn’t want to do what I did with the Ro’s Argan and throw it away. I had so many issues with Ro’s Argan that I just HAD to throw it away. Not only did I hate how thick and greasy it was, but I also hated the smell.

With the Snow Fairy one, the smell isn’t very strong but I rather like that. After a few tries out over the past fortnight, I think I have found something it can useful at doing!

First of all I tried shaving with it, but it ended up clogging up my shaker, which SUCKED as it worked so well as a shaving cream!

Then I tried using it in dry places on my body such as my knee caps, elbows and feet but I still felt greasy and felt the urge to wash it off again. So that was a no no.

Finally I tried using it after washing my hands instead of reaching for the hand cream and you know what? It worked SO WELL! In both intense winter and summer, my eczema plays up so much and whilst it isn’t as bad as it used to be now I’m in the office, it can still get bad.

I’ve tried this since the start of the week now and it’s worked pretty well on my hands, as well as making them smell slightly of Snow Fairy, which is never a bad thing!

I think my overall thoughts on the Lush Body Conditioners so far is that they’re amazing for people who LOVE to feel moisturised or have intensely dry skin, but if you hate feeling greasy or have oily skin then keep clear.

Lush are great at helping their customers and if you want to give any of these a go and unsure if you’ll like the feeling they leave behind, you can always ask for a sample! I want to get a sample of Christingle to be honest. If it isn’t the same as Snow Fairy and Ro’s Argan then I would definitely like to buy one in the future to try.

Otherwise, sadly I won’t be buying the body conditioners in future and if I’m gifted any this year I’ll either use them as hand wash, or gift them to someone else. HEY! Maybe I’d even do a giveaway when I hit 200 followers? 😛 We shall see!

What do  you think of the Lush Body Conditoners? Do you have a love relationship with them like I do? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’ve had a lovely weekend.
