Why I’m a Tangle Teezer Convert – Review

It’s Sunday and I am having such a lazy day! Me and Dane are sat in front of the TV playing games and watching movies whilst we on and off play Pokemon Go too. We have had such a lovely chilled weekend together and really spent time together, which was much needed.

For the rest of our day we’ll be chilling out and having a BBQ, all whilst I get on with blog work. I have loads in my head that I want and need to get written down, all whilst my hayfever plays up. 😛

This is a review I knew I wanted to do a week into using Tangle Teezer brushes. They’ve been around for just over 10 years now and this is the first time I have ever had the pleasure of using one. As someone who has long and thick hair, a review for these brushes is very much needed, especially the two styles I bought.

So get a nice cold drink, sit back and I hope you enjoy my review of not one, but two Tangle Teezer brushes.

I decided in June before me and Dane went away for a short break in Somerset that it was time for me to get a new hair brush. The one I was using at the time was the same style as a Tangle Teezer brush but it had started to see it’s last days and wasn’t performing as well as I wanted it to.

I decided to pick up the Large Smoothing Tool using my Boots points. Although I knew that this hair brush was designed to be using whilst blow drying your hair, I thought it would also be okay for just brushing your hair. Nah, this isn’t good for just that. The teeth on the brush are very hair and due to that it really hurts your scalp when brushing your hair. I gave this a test drive whilst I was in Somerset and I couldn’t get on with it at all!

Before we headed home me and Dane popped to Cribbs Causeway to get some breakfast and have some retail therapy. I decided to pop into Boots to grab the other Tangle Teezer hair brush I had my eye on, this one being The Ultimate Finishing Tool. Now this hair brush is amazing and it has drastically changed my life!

I’ve never tried the original Tangle Teezer and I don’t ever intend to to be honest. Why? well it’s just too small. I like a hair brush with a handle and that’s why I was always put off buying one of these hair brushes in the first place. With both the smoothing tool and the finishing tool they have handles, meaning they’re easy to hold.

The first brush I’m going to talk about is the smoothing tool.

Our innovative Blow-Styling Smoothing Tool takes the hair from wet to dry in one simple step, delivering a quick, smooth and gentle blow-dry.

The full size blow-drying hairbrush from Tangle Teezer is the innovative hairbrush which takes hair from wet to dry.

With ground-breaking teeth technology, the Blow-Styling Smoothing Tool has fixed base teeth with built in tension and slight flexibility at the tips. Delivering flow tension, the teeth allows the hair to snake through for a quick, smooth and gentle blow-dry without pulling or stretch-drying.

Taking excess water away from the hair for a faster drying time, the hair is left voluminous and shiny with reduced frizz. There’s no need for straightening irons.

The full size Blow-Styling Smoothing Tool is best suited for medium to long hair lengths.

When I first went to try this brush whilst blow drying my hair, I wondered if it would deliver what it said it would and surprisingly enough, it did! Not only do I have long hair, but I have thick hair too and whilst I’ve managed to get it blow dried at a reasonable time, it can take more time to dry it than it would for someone with shorter hair.

My Dyson hairdryer is amazing and really has improved my hair drying time, as well as my hair, so if I could find a hair brush to help me fasten the time even more, that’s amazing.

When my hair is wet I’ll brush it with this brush all over and run it through my hair whilst blow drying. As you’d probably gathered, the hair brush is designed to be used alongside a hairdryer. I’ll brush my hair and blow dry whatever is in the brush. I hope that makes sense, I can’t really think how to describe it! Due to the way the teeth are on this brush you can grab large and small pieces of hair to dry, which in turn makes drying the top of your head really easy. I always struggle to dry that part of my hair, but since getting this brush it’s definitely become easier to do.

I notice after using this on my hair that it feels lovely and smooth, with no frizz. If there would be a perfect partner tool for the Dyson hairdryer, it would definitely be this hair brush.

The smoothing tool is amazing and I am so happy to have it to use alongside my Dyson hair dryer now! Although I used my Boots points, this brush costs £20.00. Do I think it’s worth it? Definitely if you have long and thick hair like me which takes ages to dry! This has definitely sped up my Wednesday mornings before work. If your hair doesn’t take a long time to dry then this brush probably isn’t for you.

When my hair is dry I’ll go over it with this brush, but to make sure it’s lovely and smooth I’ll use the finishing tool.

The Ultimate dry-styles and dresses the hair. It’s designed to achieve perfect updos, back-brush in volume and texture and maintain hair extensions, clip-ins and weaves.

The Ultimate is Tangle Teezer’s fabulous new shocking pink dry-styling hairbrush.

Offering the perfect finishing touch, The Ultimate is created for dry-styling and dressing your hair. The unique teeth are longer with softer tips which lightly detangle and smooth cuticles for a high shine. It’s designed to achieve perfect up-dos, back-brush in volume and texture and to maintain and blend in hair extensions, clip-ins and weaves.

Easy to hold, simple to use and all you need for that final flourish, The Ultimate hairbrush finishes your look in style.

If there is a beauty staple I’ve bought this year that I have fallen in love with and will rave is one of the best I’ve bought, it’s this bad boy. Oh man this hair brush has actually changed my life! I know that sounds dramatic, but it’s the honest truth.

This brush is said to be for best brush for styling, but personally I think it’s perfect for just brushing my hair. The Tangle Teezer brushes are known for having the bristles that won’t pull your hair and hurt you pretty much. They brush through the hair with ease and detangle as they pass through any matted hair.

The bristles on this brush are long and due to that catch every hair you brush. Although they aren’t as thick and strong as the smoothing tool bristles, these bristles still hold up pretty well for what they are, which I love! It means if you have really thick hair they’ll withstand it without them getting damaged.

I find that this brush leaves my hair feeling soft, sleek and smooth after brushing. Everyday I put my hair into a fishtail braid and for this I need my hair to be really smooth so I can make it look as neat as possible. This brush has really helped to do that and my fishtail braids always look near and tidy.

My only issue with this brush is that it gather muck quickly around the bristles and although I clean it daily/weekly, I already feel that I need to give the brush a deep clean! I never had this with any of my other brushes. I intend to give it a big deep clean tonight when I have a bath.

As I said before and I’ll say again, this hair brush has really changed my life. Growing up I always used paddle brushes to brush my hair, as I’ve always had thick and long hair. Some paddle brushes broke due to the constant brushing and others just didn’t brush as well as they could have. I’m glad that we now have brushes like the Tangle Teezer ones that will do a great job in brushing our hair without LOADS of effort.

Again, I used my Boots points to buy this brush, but it costs £15.00 to buy. Would I pay that price for a brush? Well knowing now how amazing this one is, FUCK YES! Sorry to swear but honestly, I’ve never used a hair brush as good as this one and I love it dearly. Brushing my hair has never felt like a chore, I love my hair so much. This brush makes me feel somewhat glam after using as it just makes my hair look and feel gorgeous.

Will I try anymore of the Tangle Teezer brushes? I don’t know in all honesty, not unless I replace the two I have in the future with the same things… These are all I really want from the Tangle Teezer collection. I don’t need one I can throw in my handbag because I don’t brush my hair whilst I’m out and about. I braid it and leave it for the day.

Do you own a Tangle Teezer brush or brushes? Which one(s) do you own? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’ve had a lovely weekend.

My Daily Skin Care Essentials

Okay at the moment I am so DONE with how clammy and hot it has been. I love the hot weather, but I really don’t love it in the UK. Maybe it’s because work is hot and stuffy and maybe it’s because the UK isn’t prepared for heat? Meh either way, I just want a little bit of rain, if not for my gardens sake over my own!

Today’s blog post is one I’ve always thought about writing, but never have until now because I thought my skin care routine was boring and that no one would ever wish to see it.

This being said, why would it be boring? Especially if it works for my skin type! I feel like recently I’ve hit a jackpot with my skin care and FINALLY found some products that work for me and leave my skin looking great, as well as feeling good too.

Get yourselves a nice cold drink, maybe an ice cream or an ice lolly and prepare for this evenings blog post! Not only has it taken me a whole 6 years to write this post, but I’m spontaneously writing it at nearly 9pm. Oh dear, I hope it’s good reading. 😛

I have 6 main items I use when doing my morning skin care routine, some of them are recent newbies and some are products I’ve used on and off over the years. BUT it is finally so amazing to find products that work with my skin, and don’t cost a fortune to pick up either!

  • Australian Bodycare Skin Wash.

This is the first thing I’ll use everyday as a part of my routine and it’s only recently that I’ve started using this on my face. My skin was breaking out constantly and I started to worry I had acne and was feeling ugly constantly. I looked how I did when I was 13 and very much so like a pepperoni pizza! You can use this skin wash all over your body and considering I always use it on my body, using it on my face couldn’t hurt, right? It was amazing to be honest with you and it’s really changed my skin for the better this past month! You don’t need a lot of this either, which is even better considering this is a 1000ml bottle. I need to get some refills for it as soon as I can.

  • Clean & Clear Blackhead Clearing Cleanser.

This is the newest product in my skin care routine and it’s one I’m so glad I picked up! I needed a new face cleanser/toner and I usually pick up a tea tree one. They didn’t have that sadly and my mom has always raved about this cleanser, so I thought I’d give it a go. If I didn’t like it, I could always give it to my mom and pick up a different one. This is amazing to be honest with you and I feel like it really does lift up any leftover muck from my pores. Gross, but true! 😛 This is also really refreshing to use whilst the weather is hot.

  • Simple Kind To Eyes Soothing Eye Balm.

This is an eye cream/balm I’ve been using for many years now and chopped and changed using it on and off for various reasons. I always go back to it though because it always leaves my eyes feeling cool, moisturised and although not looking “better”, they certainly look somewhat refreshed. This lasts ages too as you only need a little bit and it doesn’t cost a fortune either. My only issue with this is that it doesn’t help with ageing, which I probably need to start thinking about now… 😛

  • LOreal Paris Hydra Genius Liquid Care (review here).

This is by far my favourite product alongside the tea tree skin wash in my skin care. This came out last year and it released at such a great time considering it was boiling when it came out. This is now my second bottle and look how much I have left! I’ll buy myself another bottle soon enough to be honest with you as I love using it everyday. As you’ll read from my review, this is a really light formula, which goes a long way and leaves your skin feeling moisturised and cooled down. It’s perfect to take abroad with you (if possible) due to how cooling it is. I especially love using it after a face mask.

  • Rimmel London Insta Fix & Matte Translucent Powder.

This is my second one of these now and I love it so much! This is probably the only bit of make up I always use to be honest with you. Due to my combination skin, I get an oily t-zone and due to that I like to matte it down as much as I can, with as little effort as possible. This powder is really light and doesn’t do a heavy coverage at all, but nonetheless for me it does an amazing job!

  • Collection Colour Lash Clear Mascara.

Due to having such big eye brows I need a good clear mascara to keep them in shape all day long and this is by far the best and most affordable clear mascara on the high street! I used to use the Miss Sporty one but the staying power wasn’t as good as it could have been. I’ve not really tried any other brands, I don’t need to considering how great the Collection one is! I recommend it if you want to use a clear mascara on both your eyelashes and eyebrows.

So those are my daily skin care essentials and my favourite ones to be honest with you! There are other bits and pieces I like using on and off too, but they don’t get a mention here. 😛

What are your daily skin care essentials? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re excited for the weekend, I know I am. 😛

Ohayou Clothing! Pin Badge Collection – Part 1

You know when I say, “This is a blog post I’ve been meaning to do for a while!” on some of my posts? Well I usually mean a couple of weeks… However this time I mean months. I’ve been meaning to write this post FOR MONTHS.

Now in this circumstance I have been meaning to talk about Ohayou Clothing! in general for YEARS now and I honestly mean that! It’s taken me so long to write about this brand and Chrissy the amazing owner because I’ve wanted to make sure what I write and post about her is exactly spot on and be perfect.

I have finally decided exactly how I want to talk about Ohayou Clothing! on my blog and I am so bloody excited to be honest with you! I’ve been working on this blog post mentally for months now, since the Eeveelution Kickstarter launched in March.

Instead of talking about any of the clothing I own by Ohayou Clothing!, I thought I would start on my ever growing pin badge collection and at the moment Ohayou Clothing! is dominating my pin flag… Soon enough I’ll have to get a separate pin flag purely for her marvellous pins.

ANYWAY enough chin wagging, it’s time to FINALLY get on with my first (of I’m sure many) Ohayou Clothing! post!

When Ohayou Clothing! announced her Sleeping Eeveelutions Kickstarer campaign I was so excited and made sure to back her campaign as soon as I could! She had a few issues with her Kickstarter due to copyright issues with Nintendo and Pokemon and it had to be frozen for a while. However, it was all sorted in the end and her Kickstarter continued and it did so well. I’m so proud of how much she made with the campaign! It’s definitely a Kickstarter I’ve had a pleasure being a part of.

When the campaign came to an end, it was time to decide which pin design you wanted and the one I settled on (after a bit of a struggle) was the sleeping Vaporeon pin. It’s so adorable and cute! I love how all of the sleeping Pokemon pins have themes based on their type. Of course Vaporeon being a water Pokemon it’s sleeping on a beach. It was tough to be honest having to pick just one pin as my reward (I only opted to back one as my pin obsession was pretty nonexistent then…) only allowed me to have one pin. I just love Vaporeon though and the beach scene reminds me of Fuerteventura, which is my second home.

After these pins were released and sent to their new owners, Chrissy opened up a secret shop on her store for people to come and buy brand new sleeping Pokemon pins, as well as seconds pins.

Seconds pins are pins that have been sent with issues, such as wrong colour, marks on various parts of the pin and basically just anything wrong with the pin that you can think of!

Although I had my heart set on the Vaporeon pin all along, I did fall in love with the Mew pin that was brought out as the first unlocked reward. So when Mew came out as a seconds pin, I knew I had to order! It recently arrived in the post and I have to say, I wouldn’t even think it was a seconds pin! It looks just as good in quality as the Vaporeon pin, as well as some other pins I own by Ohayou Clothing! The one thing I love about the Mew pin is that it’s surrounded by Japanese sakura (well it looks like that to me anyhoo! :P) and it’s just so cute! I can’t wait to wear it throughout winter to be honest with my cream jumper.

When I ordered my Mew pin I decided to order the Spyro pin that Ohayou Clothing! designed recently. I wasn’t going to to be honest as the smart adult in my brain was saying, “No Nat, you don’t need that!” whereas the nostalgic youngster in my knew she had to have it.

Spyro is a massive part of my gaming life as I used to play it when I was younger during the summer holidays with my cousins. We’d take it in turns to go around each world and attempt to complete them 100%. I loved it!

So I knew I needed the Spyro pin badge in my life! It’s so adorable and I cannot wait to wear it over the summer and winter months for work. The remastered Spyro games are out in September so I’ll be rocking this pin on jumpers throughout that month for sure.

The thing I love the most about this design is how much of a rebel Spyro STILL looks, whilst giving the pins design a cute kawaii feel. Also, look at that glitter, it’s so fabulous! 😀 I know not everyone knows what half of the Pokemon are anymore who are out, but everyone who was around in the 00’s will know who Spyro is.

Finally I’m going to talk about the Pin Dream pins I have from Ohayou Clothing! so far. NOW when I started writing this post towards the end of last week, it was before some sad news from Ohayou Clothing about her Pokemon designs and pins.

Like when the Kickstarter was around, Nintendo and Pokemon have got to Ohayou Clothing! again and told her she has to stop making and selling Pokemon designs. I am gutted to be perfectly honest with you. Due to this, the Vaporeon pin will be the last Pokemon pin for the Pin Dream pins. I was so excited for the rest of the Eeveelution doughnut designs to come out, but that aside I’m angry on behalf of Chrissy. There are plenty of other people out there who are inspired by Pokemon and their designs to create their own designs and images of certain ones. There are loads of Kickstater campaigns out there that are producing Pokemon inspired pins, as well as hundreds of Etsy stores and even Redbubble. So why is Ohayou Clothing! getting it and no one else appears to be? Well, yet anyway.

Either way I will continue to support Ohayou Clothing and Chrissy with her store, as well as with her future Pin Dream designs!

For now though, I will talk about the first two pins she came out with for her Pin Dream Patreon. They’re both Pokemon pins and I love them so damn much, as I said, I’m just gutted I won’t ever be able to own all 9 pins. 😦

The first pin was an Eevee doughnut pin and I knew I wanted it so much! The design of it is adorable, from the sparkly brown doughnut, to the fluffy tail dangling down, and the adorable little tongue that Eevee is sticking out. There is nothing wrong with this pin and it definitely ticks all the KAWAII boxes.

Chrissy always packages all her parcels perfectly and with the Patreon Pin Dream’s you get a couple of little extras too as a thank you for supporting her. With the Eevee doughnut I got a sticker of Eevee sleeping as well as a Glaceon badge.

The second Pin Dream is the Vaporeon doughnut and sadly I haven’t had the chance to wear it and show it off yet. This only arrived recently but I’m sure I’ll wear it at some point soon for work or in general. This pin is just as gorgeous as the Eevee one with the blue glitter doughnut this time. Not going to lie the Eevee pin is definitely cuter than Vaporeon, but the blue makes up for that! 😀 This will be lovely to wear on my red coat during the winter season.

Like with the Eevee pin (as well as all of her packages to be honest…) the Parteon package for Vaporeon came with some lovely little extras again, including an Eevee and Vaporeon sticker, as well as some Japanese candy, which was really yummy. 😛

So, that’s my pin collection from Ohayou Clothing! so far.

I am gutted about the whole Pokemon palava with Chrissy, especially considering she had so many cute ideas coming up with Pokemon, including Cubone and Dragonite, which I was excited to get during her designing stages.

I really hope in the future that Nintendo and Pokemon chill out and allow Chrissy to continue being amazing. OR they could just offer her a job to designs some new merchandise for the Pokemon Centre in Japan. 😛

What do you guys think of Ohayou Clothing’s! cute pin badges? 😀 Which do you like the most? Maybe you already own some of her merchandise! She doesn’t just design pins, she designs clothing, as well as homeware. I live in my Eevee and Umbreon varsity jackets when it isn’t hot! 😀

Let me know in the comments what you think of Ohayou Clothing! AND if like me you don’t agree with how Nintendo and Pokemon are treating her, then join me in talking about it online on Twitter and Instagram.

Oh by the way, do you guys like my little Mii Kun that has recently come into my life? 😛 I’ll be talking about him properly soon, but I love him so bloody much! He’s from the anime How To Keep A Mummy, which you should watch if you love cute anime series.

Here’s a little bonus picture I posted on my Twitter page…

He looks so realistic here. I love the plushie so fucking much and I really hope to feature him more when it comes to talking about anything kawaii and Japan related. 😛

Anyhoo, until next time I hope everyone had an amazing weekend!

July Wish List ’18

Oh man as if we are in July and oh what a gorgeous year 2018 is turning out to be already, eh?! Last week we had nothing but sunshine and it was glorious.

I was really naughty in June and bought loads of stuff, but you know what? Fuck it! I don’t feel like I’ve had a proper treat since I left my previous job so it’s been nice to buy stuff for myself that I either need and don’t need, but have wanted for ages.

The majority of stuff on this months wish list I doubt I will buy as I need to save my monies now after an expensive month. I really struggled too with this months wish list as there isn’t much I really want to buy in all fairness… Well apart from the manga mentioned below. 😛

Anyhoo, ON WITH THE WISH LIST! 😀

  • FairyGlo Gel Nail Polishes – (link)

This is what I’m going to kick off the blog post with as although I’ve mentioned I won’t be buying much this month, this is something I’ve ordered as I REALLY wanted to give FairyGlo gel polishes a go! Someone I work with uses these and they look amazing, so I wanted to give them a go for myself. I have 4 shades in mind that I want to grab and they’re purple, blue, raspberry pink and lavender shades and they look awesome! Where I’ve found them they’re £1.99 each which is pretty decently priced, but I know this is due to them being Chinese and cheap. But meh, I’ll give them a go they won’t cost me much to buy. 😛

  • Cath Kidston Park Wildlife Fox Cushion – (link)

I really want this cushion and I regret not picking it up when me and Dane went away to Bristol/Somerset for a couple of days at the start of June. Dane was the one who pointed it out to me to be honest! The fox on it is so adorable and instead of grabbing this cushion I picked up a fox trinket dish and the park wildlife tray instead, which the fox is on. I really want more of the park wildlife bits that are all in the sale at the moment! I’m definitely going to keep my eye on the cushion because if it goes down in the sale anymore, I’ll definitely grab it!

  • A Polar Bear in Love Vol. 3 – (link)

I mentioned this recently on my manga wish list (which you can read here) but this is out this month so I’ll be pre ordering this closer to the time, aka the end of the month. 😛 I love A Polar Bear in Love. It’s so bizarre but so cute and somewhat relate able all the same. If you love reading cute and strange manga, definitely give this series a go! I can’t wait to see where it’s going after where Vol. 2 left off!

  • Le Mini Macaron 3X Shine Topcoat – (link)

I recently picked up one of the Le Mini Macaron gel nail kits and I LOVE IT! I really want to give the rest of their products a go though, including this 3X shine topcoat, which has nothing but good reviews! I haven’t used a topcoat whilst using the shade I picked up in the kit and it’s lasted for quite some time now. The only time it started to chip was when I was in the bath and I was kind of picking it off. 😛

  • Vans x Marvel Spidey Webs LS – (link)

The Vans x Marvel collection is a mixture of awesome and disappointment of how much better they could have done. I really wanted the Deadpool Vans that they released but when I saw them in the flesh I was so disappointed. For a start they had a ninja star on them, which Deadpool doesn’t use! I mean, what? :S Anyway so the only things I actually liked from the collection are the Spider-Man t-shirts, including this long sleeved boyfriend tee. I love long sleeved tops, especially if they have a boyfriend tee feel to them! It’s not the cheapest in the world, but you’re paying for the brand, as well as for Marvel. I’ll definitely be picking this up in the future as I love it so much!

  • Le Mini Macaron Kitticorn Magic Powder – (link)

I’ve always wanted to give the holographic and chrome nail powders a go but I haven’t really been able to. Although I would prefer to give a cheaper one a go, I’m adding this to my wish list because for the money I wouldn’t mind giving this one a go and it comes with a topcoat polish too, which is always good! I don’t know if it’s the same one as the 3X shine topcoat though…

  • Marvel Spidey Ringer Tee – (link)

Like the boyfriend Spider-Man tee I really love this tee that Vans have brought out for the collaboration! This one would definitely be ideal lately with how bloody warm it’s been this past week. I’d rock this tee all the time with a cardigan, hoodie and jeans. At the time of writing this it’s on sale at EMP and I’m SO TEMPTED to order it but meh I need to watch my monies after an expensive month in June… 😦

  • Le Mini Macaron Coffee Shop Les Minis Gel Polish Set – (link)

I’ve spied a couple of the gel polish shades I like the look of, including Latte which is in this coffee coloured set. I LOVE coffee coloured nail polishes and although I won’t this month, when it comes to it I’m going to order myself a couple of different shades from Le Mini Macaron as I really want to give this brand a go! I especially love all these shades as they’ll look great for every season too.

So those are all the items on my wish list for this month! Sorry if it’s really boring, I honestly cannot think of much I want to buy this month really… 😛

You watch though after this post, I’ll think of shit loads of stuff I want!

What items do you guys have on your wish lists this month? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time, take care all and have a lovely week!

June Favourites ’18

I cannot believe it is July! I ended off June by getting incredibly drunk and nursing a monster of a hangover with McDonalds chicken nuggets. xD

Oh dear. It’s a lovely warm day though, I’m between doing housework and blog work and getting ready to go out to a wedding this evening. I usually get my monthly blog posts written up and scheduled about a week in advance, but sadly that isn’t the case this month… OOPS! 😛

Anyway, enough blabbering, on with the favourites this month! 😀

  • Australian Bodycare Tea Tree Oil Skin Wash.

If there is a product that I have REALLY loved lately, it’s definitely this tea tree skin wash, which you can use all over your body, including your face. My skin has been breaking out really bad lately, so much so that I worried I might have acne. Alas, it was just some of the products I was using on my skin as since I started using this stuff on my face it has changed dramatically! Not only that but I use it on my body too as a shower gel and I always get out of the shower feeling fresh and clean! I always forget how much I love this skin wash and from now on it’s definitely going to be a constant piece of my shower/bath!

  • Simple Kind To Eyes Soothing Eye Balm.

I recently picked up this old favourite again as I was in need of a new eye gel. I’ve used this on and off over the years and never had a problem with it, but sometimes I’ve found it to be too expensive for what it is and that’s why I didn’t pick one up. However, recently I found it at a price I was willing to pay and oh man, I forgot how great this eye balm is! As many of us Brits know, it’s been really hot in the UK most of June so this eye balm has come in handy for helping cool down my eyes early in the morning, as well as in the evening before bed.

  • L’Occitane Almond Foot Cream.

I don’t actually know if L’Occitane even sell this anymore but I’ve started using it lately to help soften my feet. On and off for about a year now I appear to now have eczema on one of my feet, which sucks. Since using this food cream in the mornings before work the eczema has improved dramatically! Some days I don’t use it, but most days I do. Due to the almond it smells really good too and has a matte texture to it so it doesn’t leave your feet feeling greasy after use, which is great!

  • Le Mini Macaron Gel Manicure Kit in Midnight Blueberry.

I’ve wanted to try the Le Mini Macaron gel kits for agggges! It started off as a Kickstarter and I remember discovering it after it had finished. I’ve had my eye on the kits online for a while but I didn’t feel that the £30-£35 price tag was really worth it for what you get. However, recently House of Fraser had some of the kits on offer for just £10! So I finally picked one up. I’m so glad I did as I now have a new found love for gel nail polish and since then I’ve used more gel polishes with it than the one provided in the kit. Sadly House of Fraser don’t have anymore of these kits left. 😦

  • Tangle Teezer The Ultimate Finishing Brush.

I picked up this hair brush when I went to Bristol at the start of June and oh my God, it has changed my life so much! For about 5-6 years now I’ve been using this style of brush, but never the Tangle Teezer brand. I knew I was in need of a new hair brush so I decided to use my Boots points to pick up one of these brushes, as well as their smoothing tool brush which you use when blow drying your hair. Their brushes are just amazing and I cannot wait to review them both on my blog.

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 10.

Holy shit this season was crazy of RuPaul’s Drag Race and I’m not going to lie or reveal any spoilers, but I am so annoyed at who won… But whatever. If there was one queen on this season who I loved to the moon and back, it’s Monet x Change. She is such an amazing queen and she made me laugh constantly and SHE SHOULD HAVE FUCKING ONE! My favourite moment in this season is the clip I’ve posted above, and it’s definitely one of my favourite moments EVER! 😀

Image taken from giphy.com

Favourite Film – The Shawshank Redemption.

This is such a random film to have on my favourites this month, but it’s probably the only one I’ve actually watched. I fancied watching it after realising that Hank in Detroit:Become Human is the mean prison ward in this film! I just felt the need to watch it again really and I always forget what an amazing film this is. I’m watching it right now as I write this blog post… 😛

Favourite Book – Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid.

I bought quite a few Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid manga’s in June as 2 of them came out. I always love when I get the newest volume because I can carry on where the anime left off. I don’t feel like I need to write too much about this manga series as I feel like I wrote WAY TOO MUCH about them throughout June. 😛

Favourite Song/Album/Artist – Panic! At The Disco – A Fever You Can’t Swear Out.

I don’t know quite why, but recently on my journeys to and from work I’ve been mostly listening to A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out and it really took me back to over 10 years ago when it came out. I remember going and buying it one weekend and I listened to it so much at school. I just forgot how much I love it and it’s such a great album for summer too. I don’t care how old the album is, it’s still a classic!

Favourite Game – VR Chat and Pokemon GO.

Well this is a game I’ve wanted to play for the longest time and although I only have a handful of times, I LOVE IT SO MUCH! The first time I went on the game I was incredibly overwhelmed and confused, I didn’t even turn my microphone on as I was too anxious to talk. The second time I went on the microphone was on and I had an amazing time with random people, one even told me how to do bits and pieces on there and it was lovely. As I wore a skin of an anime girl, I become some Ugandan Knuckles’s queen! It was hilarious and Dane filmed the whole thing. I’m really hoping to start making gaming videos with Dane. Keep eyes peeled for that in the future. 😛

I couldn’t not talk about Pokemon GO this month as I recently downloaded it again and since playing it with Dane and our friends I am in love with it! 😀 We’ve been out with our friends a few times now to play it and walked around our area as well as parks. I’ve also bought the Pokemon GO Plus so I can still play whilst I’m out and about without pulling my phone out of my handbag. I’ll be talking about that very soon! But yeah, I love Pokemon Go and I cannot wait to play it more over the summer.

So those are my favourites from June! What were you loving throughout last month? Make sure to let me know in the comments.

Until next time, I hope you all have a lovely day and are enjoying the warm weather.

Elodie the Unicorn Ramen Bowl

I don’t quite know why I’m writing this post/sort of review today as it’s just so random, but at the same time it’s something I really want to share with you guys for so many reasons! Of course, I’ll go into those as the post goes on.

I don’t mean to call this a review throughout the post either, but what else can it be?

I’ve been lusting after the Elodie the Unicorn Ramen Bowl for about a year now, which I discovered through Smoko’s Kickstarter campaign for the Elodie the Unicorn Humidifier. I nearly ordered this through Kickstarter which would have come with the humidifier, the mug and of course the ramen bowl. I didn’t due to how expensive it was and was gutted I’d missed the opportunity to getting some cute unicorn pieces for the house.

Smoko is an American company, so at the time you could order their Elodie products but shipping and import would have cost a bomb! So I left it… Then recently on Firebox they started releasing some of Smoko’s Elodie goodies, including the ramen bowl.

I’ve mentioned it a couple of times on my blog in the past when talking about my monthly wish lists, which you can read here and here.

Me and Dane had been in the house over a year when I discovered the Elodie goods on Firebox’s website and I pleaded with him to let me order the ramen bowl. It was pretty expensive at the time, £24.99 and for a bowl we both found it was expensive. I added it to my Christmas and birthday lists and I still didn’t receive it.

I noticed recently that the bowl was on offer and when I first looked it was down to £20.99, which I thought was a bargain… But again Dane was honest and said, “Nat where are we going to keep it? It’s not cheap either for a bowl.”

He was right, it wasn’t cheap and we didn’t have room for it, so I left it.

A couple of weeks ago I looked again on the website, just randomly to see what new Elodie goods Firebox may have added to the store, I discovered that the ramen bowl was EVEN CHEAPER than previously at £14.99!

I decided not to chance it a third time and put an order through! When you shop with Firebox for your first time you can receive a £5 voucher, which I put towards the ramen bowl. It practically paid for my postage, which sadly isn’t the cheapest in the world but it was definitely worth the money to ensure that my bowl arrived in one piece.

I didn’t have to wait long before my ramen bowl was on its way to me and on my doorstep, it literally arrived the day after I ordered, I was amazed and so happy.

I got home from work and I couldn’t wait to open it. The box that it comes in is cute in itself! Is it sad that I can’t bear to throw it away?! I’m not going to to be honest, I’m going to use it to keep my food in at work. 😛

The bowl itself is gorgeous and to be honest not what I imagined it to look like. It’s also lighter in weight than I thought it was going to be, which is incredibly handy when taking the bowl in and out of the cupboard.

This is technically two bowls, but to cook the noodles you need to use both bowls, one as the bowl itself and one as the lid.

So how it works is you pop your ramen noodle packet and any flavouring sachets into the bowl and pour boiling water over. Give it a max of 15-30 minutes and voila! The noodles will have grown twice their size and be ready to eat!

It claims it’s big enough to fit your ramen noodles in without breaking them, I don’t know if it’s due to the brand of noodles I used but sadly I had to break mine in half to get them into the bowl. I used proper Japanese ramen by the way. 😉

They melt in your mouth when eating them and this bowl will already make my life easier when I’m in a hurry or I’m tired after work. After cooking the noodles you could of course transfer the noodles to the other bowl so that two of you could share them… But of course I just want to scoff all the yummy ramen noodles myself! 😛

So, was this bowl worth the money? Oh hell yes! If anything I’m glad I waited a year to buy it for £10 less than the original asking price.

Dane was indecisive about this bowl but not only does it look adorable, it actually does an amazing job! Now Dane wants a ramen bowl himself, which I’m trying so hard to find for him! Otherwise I’ll have to buy another Elodie the Unicorn ramen bowl for him to match mine. 😛

If you like the look of this ramen bowl and want to get one for yourself, then make sure to use my code down below to bag yourself a £5 code!

Escapades Into Realities of a Virtual Nature: Part Two of Jimmy Rustling

Image result for rustle my jimmies

Image taken from knowyourmeme.com

Hello there coffee lovers! Dane here taking over Nat’s blog for a bit. Hopefully I didn’t bore you last time with declaring how much I needed to get a virtual reality headset with a gaming PC to power it. I had actually planned to follow up the post with a games wish list and things you need for VR but there really isn’t much point in that now because…

I got myself a new PC! I know only a few of you may actually be interested in reading this post and I do apologise for its subjectively boring topic.

By the way, my jimmies have been rustled by the cost. 😉

I just couldn’t wait any longer and I had to make the jump to get everything I needed. I had already bought a couple of the items like the PSU, case and so on. These were all things I could test out before hand to prove worked just so I could send them back if needed. It is always wise to get everything together as you wont know if there is a problem until you power them on, and with a computer you need everything together to make sure it works.

Sadly in my excitement, I didn’t get many photos of the build. I just had to build it, and yes this was built by myself. Nothing was pre-built and it is much easier than some people may realise.

The PC isn’t the most powerful workstation in the world but it’s certainly enough to play the current generation of games.

If you’re interested here’s the specs:

  • Ryzen 5 1600 Processor
  • 16GB Corsair vengeance 2666MHz RAM
  • Gigabyte B350 Gaming 3 Motherboard
  • Asus GTX 1070 Expedition Graphics Card
  • NZXT S340 Case

There are many reasons I went for this set up. After looking at components for over a year, seeing how the market has changed and the right deal for me came up I couldn’t pass up the opportunity.

I have wanted Ryzen to succeed since it launched because Intel have been the dominant processor producer for several years and competition always helps the market. After it got released and the major players recommended using it I knew this would be the direction I would head. It has been commented that Ryzen is better at handling streaming and other multicore applications, it lacks the pure power that Intel produces but is a cheaper alternative for those who still want to game. The 1000 series is actually out of date already, Ryzen has in fact released APUs (CPUs with Vega Graphics embedded) and even released the full second generation 2000 series. This caused prices to drop for the 1000 series processors and I had to snap one up.

Buying a motherboard these days is somewhat of a simpler purchase. There are 3 options that you can go for with Ryzen processors (AM4 Chipset) A320, B350 and X370 which are the budget, mid and enthusiast levels respectively. I went for B350 as I want something which has some of the fancier bits of the higher end X370 but a more reasonable price. Someday I may end up overclocking the processor which the B350 will allow me to do. Other than that aspect it is just brand preference, aesthetics and price that you need to look for. I chose the Gaming 3 for its red and black theme and little bit of RGB.

The graphics card was a slightly different story. All along I was going to go for an MSI GTX 1060 6GB, this changed for a few reasons. Since last year prices for GPUs have been astronomical due to bitcoin mining and ram shortages, prices started to decline about a month ago to a point where I felt it was time to purchase. A 1060 6GB is supposed to be more than enough for 1080p gaming and VR but as my monitor is ultrawide and I wanted a little bit of leg room for if a game became extremely taxing in VR I decided on a 1070. It just allows that extra bit of comfort and you definitely know the component is VR Ready. I chose the Asus 1070 Expedition on a bit of a gamble. It has a red accent which is quite nice but no RGB, there weren’t even many (if any) reviews on it. If you search Asus 1070 it doesn’t even come up! The main reason was the price though, it was on sale at Overclockers.co.uk and was cheaper than the 1060, for the power I could not pass up on that opportunity (not for the second time as a 1070ti was actually on sale at Scan.co.uk which I did miss out on).

So there we have it. I made the jump and have given you my reasons for doing so and I have no complaints whatsoever with everything that I have. I can happily play all the games I have at very high/ultra detail and I love it. There is still a few bits that I want to get to make it more aesthetically pleasing, increase the disk space and I may even overclock it in the near future. All in all I am incredibly happy with what I have, and the day it arrived I was like a little kid at Christmas.

SO if you have made it this far through the post, well done! I know this post wasn’t the most exciting in the world and as I said above, only a select few may enjoy this post. Nat asked if I wanted to have a go at writing on her blog today whilst she suffers with her hayfever, and this is what I came up with.

If you’re interested in getting your own gaming PC but don’t know where to start then I’ll leave some links down below of where you can buy any parts for your gaming PC if you want to build it yourself, like I did AND I’ll also be sharing where you can buy a gaming PC built for you.

SCAN UK – Decent prices, they offer finance, their returns policy is brilliant (they’re understanding when it comes to PC components) and have incredibly friendly staff in their Bolton store.

Overclockers UK – They do pre-built PC’s so if you don’t want a gaming PC then you’re good with going here and the prices are reasonable and like SCAN UK they offer a brilliant returns policy, they also do finance. The delivery from them is secure and you feel good in the knowledge that your goods are arriving safely, and very quick delivery too!

So from buying my gaming PC it has also allowed me to use this…

Yeah. I did it.

BUT MORE ON THAT LATER!

I hope you guys enjoyed reading my post today and I am so excited to talk more about the above very soon!

I hope you’re all having a lovely weekend and until next time, take care all.
