September Favourites ’22

I can’t quite believe how quickly September flew by. Literally it felt like yesterday it was the first full week of September, so the fact it’s now the second day of October… It’s just mad!

I’m rather excited for October due to Halloween, as well as Bonfire Night looming. It’s also at the end of the month when me and Dane have some time off together to celebrate the colder celebrations of the year and more. Not to mention the excitement of Pokemon Scarlett and Violet coming out next month too! November is an exciting month, but I’ll save chatter about that for next months favourites post. 😉 So yeah, October is a bit of a calm before the storm kind of month for us.

A lot happened in September with (what felt like) events left, right, and centre! I do just want the world to slow down a little to be honest… I’m wary we’re less than 100 days until Christmas and God knows how many until my 33rd birthday… I looked… 96 days…

One thing I’m especially excited for for the rest of the year is how many people I’m meeting who I’ve befriended thanks to the internet and similar interests. This time next week I’ll be meeting up with someone I befriended through a Discord, which I know we’re both excited for! 😀

I’m going to jump straight into the September favourites, as I’m wary I’m going to waffle on! 😛

Beauty – Dove Body Scrub Pomegranate Seeds & Shea Butter and Dove Body Scrub Crushed Macadamia & Rice Milk.

This was a more recent purchase that I got towards the end of September, and in a short space of time it has fast become a favourite! I love a good body scrub, especially foaming ones as I feel like they’re sort of cleaning as they scrub. Anyone else feel like that? Anyway, to be honest I mostly use body scrubs on my underarms and legs before shaving. However, I will use all over too if I feel it’s needed. I picked up two types of the Dove body scrub, Pomegranate Seeds & Shea Butter and Crushed Macadamia & Rice Milk, as at the time of purchasing (and publishing this post) they were buy one get one free from Superdrug. I have wanted to try the Dove body scrubs for a while now, so didn’t see the harm in taking up the offer! These have fast become a staple for sure as they smell really good and leave my skin feeling soft and moisturised after use. They’re not rough in terms of scrubbiness, which is ideal if you have sensitive skin. I had a horrible allergic reaction on my legs to a body scrub recently (name here) so my legs are grateful for the Dove body scrubs, that’s for sure. My only problem with the Dove body scrubs is that we don’t have as much choice as America do. For example, they have the Brown Sugar & Coconut Butter, which I would LOVE to get one day!

Movie – Kalifornia.

I’ll pre-warn you now, the trailer for this film is so cringe and typical of the early 90’s. I remember watching this film with my parents when I was a teenager, and although it’s classed as a horror/thriller, we found so many parts hilarious due to some of the stuff Early would come out with. Kalifornia is about a writer and his photographer girlfriend, who are planning to drive from Kentucky to California, writing and taking photos for his book as they go. Due to the costs of such a trip, they advertise for people to travel with them, with the advertisement being filled by Early and his girlfriend. Prior to leaving and during their trip, things go from weird, to bad. On my dad’s birthday we spoke about the film again, one Dane had never heard of before, so I decided to buy it for us to watch one evening. I think due to the trailer (and the way we sold it to him) Dane didn’t expect much from it, but by the end of the film, he commented how much he enjoyed! I highly recommend if you fancy giving it a watch! It has a big cast with Brad Pitt, Juliette Lewis, David Duchovny, and Michelle Forbes.

TV Show – Bee & PuppyCat.

I’ve been so excited to talk about Bee & PuppyCat this month! As regular readers may have seen, I did talk about the show prior to it’s launch on Netflix at the start of September (which you can read here). I really loved the updated version of season one, however there were some hilarious and memorable moments from the original that I was sad not to see. I can only imagine they were so good previously that recreating them again wasn’t doable… But I don’t know. I won’t spoiler by mentioning what they are, but in the future I might write a blog post of what I thought of the Netflix version. To conclude here, I’m so excited for another season (there better be one!) as well the hype that is now around the show. I’ve always followed the hashtag on Instagram for the show so I always saw people’s posts about it. Since the show came out last month, I’m always seeing and discovering new people through Bee & PuppyCat, which in turn just makes me so happy!

Music – Electric Callboy Tekkno.

Electric Callboy’s new album Tekkno released towards the end of September, which both me and Dane were excited for! We were also meant to go and see the guys play last week but due to one of the singers falling ill, the gig has been postponed, which is a shame, but at the same time it’ll still be an amazing show! 😀 Tekkno is such a fun album and one I’ve been finding myself listening to lots since it came out, with putting it on in the morning on my way to work, whilst I’m working, as well as on my drive home! Electric Callboy are a band everyone should check out at some point, with their sound being a mixture of metal and electronic. We discovered them in 2020 when “Hypa Hypa” came out. Our friend told us about it and since then we’ve both been hooked!

Game – Bear & Breakfast.

I’ll be honest, as the days loomed for this game coming out, I did contemplate whether or not to buy. A review I watched mentioned how repetitive the game is, which wasn’t such an issue for me, but it did kind of put me off. Alongside that, I already have plenty of games to play so I was a bit torn. In the end, I bought it and have played it on and off the past couple of weeks! Bear & Breakfast is a game where you’re a bear and start a chain of bed and breakfasts in your woodland to try and encourage humans back to the forest. It’s a very basic game, but fun nonetheless if you want a game you don’t want to have to think too much about! Sadly the past week I haven’t touched it, as I’ve been working on some last minute cross stitch projects… More about that under other. 😛

Just a few of my favourite things…

Nature Centre, Birmingham.

I went out yesterday with my bestie and our best boys to see some cute animals at the Nature Centre in Birmingham, then lunch at our favourite independent coffee place. It was so lovely and I’m so glad the weather held up for us, as prior to that it has been fucking miserable! I started to really get into the autumnal feels and I honestly can’t wait for more of that. My bestie loves red pandas, so I told her it was time for us to go and see some in Birmingham! We picked the perfect day and time to go as there were hardly any people there, and with some coffees in hand, we walked around the park, in awe of the cute animals in front of us. I think the red panda knew it was the main reason for us going, as it really did do some poses for us. 😛

THIS IS HALLOWEEN, THIS IS HALLOWEEN!

Back in the summer my dad asked me if I could get him some vegetable seed packets. They didn’t have one he was after, so as I joke I decided to pick up some pumpkin seeds for him to try growing. They weren’t cheap, so I paid for them and we had a laugh about it. The above photo is from yesterday. I cannot believe just how well his pumpkins have grown! They look incredible and I’m so proud of him for giving it a go! He did give one to me to grow too, but we didn’t have the luck he did. This photo just gives me so many autumn and Halloween vibes, both of which I’m excited and beyond ready for now!

“Kiki, look it’s me!”

FYI I will be posting a blog post up all about this glass, and shirayukinikki, the store/artist behind it so keep eyes peeled for that this month! Back a couple of months ago me and one of my newer friends decided to go halves on shipping some glasses by shirayukinikki to us. Since this arrived last month, I’ve been using it for iced drinks, alcohol and even just glasses of squash. I really love the Jiji and Lily bakery design behind it and couldn’t resist. Of course if you aren’t aware, the design is inspired by Studio Ghibli film Kiki’s Delivery Service, which you should go and watch if you haven’t before!

Kawaii goods.

Finally, I want to show off some cute items that arrive the past few weeks, because why not!

The first image is of my honey bear gacha by shigematsu_kun that my friend Emily was kind enough to add to her From Japan order for me! I’d seen someone buy the four honey bear gacha and showcase them on an Instagram reel, I knew I needed them! Once Emily sent them to me, I decided to stick them on my desk monitor as I thought it was the perfect home for them! I love when I’m working from home, or sitting at my desk that I can look up and see the four little cuties sat there! My desk is growing more adorable and I love it!

The second image is of my Toast the raccoon plushie by Yencat! I backed it on Kickstarter earlier this year in February, alongside with a plush pouch too. This guy is a CHONK and I love it! It’s a lovely plush for cuddling due to this, but as I already have one mochi plush I use for cuddling, I’m going to purely keep Toast for display purposes. As I may have mentioned before on my blog, raccoons feel like my spirit animal and due to that I do adore them, but this is actually my first raccoon plush! I don’t think I could have chosen a better one, do you? 😛

So, there we have it guys, my favourites from September! It flew by, didn’t it? 😛 I am excited for October though due to more autumnal vibes and Halloween. 😛

What were your favourite things about September? Are you excited for October too? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

Until next time, take care all and enjoy the rest of your weekends. 🙂

2018 Christmas Advent Calendars You Should Buy!

December is now less than a month away and the closer it gets to the 1st December, the more people frantically run around the shops and online for advent calendars. Whether they be chocolate, tea, beauty or even alcohol everyone is after the perfect one for Christmas, not even just for themselves.

For years now I’ve always looked out for unique and amazing calendars that appeal to me and this year I feel like I’ve seen quite a few I’m keen on. So I thought I would share them on my blog.

I don’t care if people are still thinking, “Nat! It’s too early for Christmas!” Well no not really. It’s a month until December and people usually start opening advent calendars on the 1st so…

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this post! At the time of writing I’ll pop prices too, as well as links to the product.

ADVENT

  • Baylis & Harding Beauticology Special Delivery Red Calendar – £9.99 (link)

I actually heard about this advent calendar from someone I work with and it is RIGHT up my street! I love all the scents of the products in there such as peppermint swirl, candy cane and vanilla icing. The scent range actually reminds me of what The Body Shop are bringing out this year. I always eye up the Baylis & Harding stuff at Christmas and regret not getting anything, but I think I am going to treat myself to this this year. I mean, why the hell not?! Spoiler, I’ve already bought it! 😛

  • Cath Kidston Christmas Town House Advent Calendar – £40.00 (link)

The past year I’ve really grown to love Cath Kidston, after years of wondering what the hype around it was! I’ve been eyeing up the advent calendar they’re bringing out this year and I really like the look of this one, but I put that down to all the cute alpaca stuff they have in it. You get loads of different bits and pieces in this including body lotion, lip balm, hand cream, bathing salts, cuticle cream and body scrub. I just love all the different things you get! I’ve found this really cheap online so I may have to treat myself to it to have at work or something. I’ll see. This would make an amazing gift for a teeanger, or anyone who loves Cath Kidston.

  • The Body Shop 25 Days Of The Ehchanted Deluxe Advent Calendar – £65.00 (link)

This was one of the first advent calendars I saw this year and I was so close to ordering it, BUT urgh the price. It hurts my soul. I’ve never had a beauty advent calendar before and this year I felt like going all out, but not for almost £70! This looks so good though and has a large variety of products in, perfect for anyone who is looking for new products to try, or even people who want to try The Body Shop but aren’t sure where to start. I’m not a massive fan of some of the products in all The Body Shop advent calendars but I’d gift those items to people, my mom and my best friends being the main ones, you know like little stocking fillers! I may keep my eyes peeled when these go down in price to pick them up but I just can’t justify the price.

  • Disney Snow White 12 Days Beauty Advent Calendar – £14.00 down to £7.00 (link)

I saw this advent calendar a while ago when I was bored on my lunchbreak and was after an advent calendar. I know that this is aimed at children, but it just looks so basic and simple I love it! This would be great to give to a teenager or child 12 days before Christmas and for the price you could buy loads of them too! I may have to grab one of these at some point if I still feel like getting it. The items in the calendar have a fresh apple scent. You get a nice range of products in this like hand cream, body lotion, body wash, lip balm, bath fizzers, nail file and a body puff. This is more for children and teenagers.

  • MUGLER Angel Advent Calendar – £115.00 down to £103.50 (link)

This is definitely an advent calendar I’d love to buy but fuck me the price is crazy! This is something I’ll be keeping my eye on however as it’s just such a bargain for all the goodies you get. Angel was one of the first perfumes I owned and it was my mom who bought it for me. I don’t wear Angel as much as I used to for vairous reasons, mostly because I’m trying to use up my older stuff to make way for my favourite stuff. This is only for 12 days so I’d start it more towards Christmas. I just love all the little bits you get in here and especially the fact you get two refillable bottles, one in a 15ml and one in a 25ml! I’d gift my mom the latter as I have a refill size at 25ml already. I’m praying this goes down in price more as I really would like it, even after Christmas!

  • Baileys Advent Calendar – £18.00 down to £16.20 (link)

There’s nothing wrong with an alcohol advent calendar, but not when they cost a bloody fortune! This probably isn’t worth £18.00 when you can buy a bottle of Baileys for the same money. I like the idea of opening little minatures each day to pop in your coffee and hot chocolates! I’d want to pick this up for a cheaper price though, not going to lie.

  • M&S 12 Days Of Christmas Socks – £18.00 (link)

My manager at work actually found these and they’re such a unique and cute idea! I love the idea of opening a new pair of socks for 12 days, especially Christmas socks. I’m actually tempted to buy this as a gift for someone myself, but I’m unsure. BUT if you know someone who loves a good pair of socks, you could definitely pick this up for them. My favourite pair in the box is definitely the Christmas llama ones. 😛

  • I Love Christmas 12 Days Of Christmas Advent Calendar – £12.00 (link)

This is the last gift set on this list and it’s definitely a cute one, for an affordable price. This is definitely a great advent calendar to pick up for a child or a teenager due to how cutesy it is. Not only do I love all the kawaii animals on it, but I also love what you get inside the gift set itself! You get hand cream, bath salts, bath fizzers, a body puff, nail file, lip balm, body lotion and body wash. They’re all scents that are right up my street too! For £12.00 I feel like this is a complete bargain.

So those are my picks for advent calendars! I’m sure there are so many more out there that may appeal to loads of people, but these are the ones I like the most!

There are some really awesome advent calendars out there! This is the first time I’ll be treating myself to a nice advent calender too. I’ve already bought both me and Dane Reece’s Peanut Butter advent calendars and I’m so excited to open it. 😛

Are you or have you bought your an advent calendar yet? If so which one have you bought, or which one(s) are you planning to pick up? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re having a great week so far

L’Oreal Paris Smooth Sugars Clear Scrub – Review

Why is it that one minute I barely write any reviews and then the next I’ll write loads? It’s so odd! Today I have a review I’ve been meaning to review for ages now but I wanted to give it a long trial so I could give you guys a proper review. If that makes sense? You’ll see what I mean when I write the review.

Anyway, no time like the present, let’s get on with it!

I heard about this scrub when it was released in America, not long before it was released in the UK. I KNEW I had to try it! I’m really loving the beauty products that L’Oreal is bringing out lately, from their face masks to their hydra genius. They’re really on it lately and I really hope they keep up with the amazing products!

These new sugar scrubs come in three different types, glow scrub (polishes and boosts radiance), nourish scrub (softens and smooths) and the one I picked up, clear scrub.

The clear scrubs claims it purifies and lifts blackheads with the 3 fine sugars and kiwi seeds that the sugar scrub contains.

On the box it states;

For the first time, the L’Oreal Paris Laboratories have selected 3 FINE SUGARS and combined them with KIWI SEEDS so you can instantly reveal pure, freshly clean, baby-soft skin. Use on face & lips.

A natural exfoliant rich in essential nutrients. We have selected fine crystals of brown, golden and white sugars, for deep yet gentle exfoliation.

KIWI SEEDS, to smooth skin, unclog pores and visibly reduce blackheads.
PEPPERMINT ESSENTIAL OIL, rich in soothing properties, to visibly reduce blemishes.
LEMONGRASS ESSENTIAL OIL, to purify skin.

Beyond clearing, our expert blend cares for the skin.

Delicately scented, the light, fresh formula heats on the skin, for maximum efficacy and a unique cleansing experience.

INSTANT AND LONG-TERM, VISIBLE RESULTS:
IMMEDIATELY: Skin is clean and purified.
AFTER 1 WEEK: Pores & blackheads are visibly reduced and skin is mattified.
USE AFTER USE: Skin is smoother, revived and healthy-looking with a baby-soft touch.

When looking more into the scrub and what it contains and is said to do, I KNEW I had to give it a go! Not only can you use this sugar scrub on your face, but you can use it on your lips too, which was what hit the nail on the head for me buying this.

Sadly this scrub was incredibly overpriced (in my opinion) at £9.99 so I waited for ages to find this on a half price offer. I paid £6.65 for it and I feel like this lower price was definitely worth it.

I decided to give the clear scrub a go out of the three as I’d heard it was the best for combination skin, but also because I’d heard bad things about the nourish scrub being incredibly greasy, and that isn’t what I needed! 😛

I couldn’t wait to give this sugar scrub a go so as soon as I got home I had a lovely hot bath and used this for the first time! I know there are instructions on the packaging you can follow, but I thought I’d share what I do, for both in the bath and in the shower.

The product itself isn’t liquidly, but neither is it super thick. A little goes a long way but I always grab a dollop of this to make sure I have enough to scrub all over my face and lips. It does feel tacky and sticky when using but this isn’t a bad thing! It moves around your face easily and doesn’t feel sticky really when using it on the skin and especially doesn’t when you rinse it off.

No matter what you must have dry hands when using this product! If your hands are wet when digging into the jar for the scrub, any water left behind WILL create and form bacteria.

You apply this to a dry face and scrub in circular motions all over your face. I always focus a little more on my t-zone and cheeks as that’s where my skin is at its worst the majority of the time. When you’ve had enough rinse the product off of your hands and using your wet hands continue to scrub your face in circular motions all over until the scrub has melted. Then rinse the scrub off of your face with water. I always use a damp flannel afterwards to make sure all of the scrub and sugar is off of my face.

If you want to use this on your lips just go over them and scrub in circular motions after you’ve done all over your face. You could otherwise use this on a daily basis if you wanted to on your lips, but they recommend you use the sugar scrub three times a week. I only use it once or twice a week.

The first time I used this scrub I worried I’d had an allergic reaction as a couple of days after use I had a really bad breakout on both of my cheeks. It was so bad, it looked like acne. Thankfully it wasn’t due to this sugar scrub, which I learned after using it again after my skin calmed down. It was due to something else, which I’ve stopped using since.

Since that incident I’ve used this scrub at least 10 times and have had no issues whatsoever! If anything this scrub has left my skin feeling not only baby soft after use, but I can really tell it’s gotten into my pores and lifted out any dirt that had gathered, especially on my nose. I don’t suffer with blackheads on my nose but I do notice the pores become a little clearer on my nose after using this product.

My lips also always feel super soft when using this sugar scrub too! I hate using lip scrubs on my lips as they’re always sticky, taste like shit when you lick them off and make a fucking mess! This one is great! Don’t lick it though, it’ll taste foul. 😛

Over the past couple of months of use, I’ve definitely noticed a different in my skin, especially when I’ve broken out. Using this scrub really does help throughout anytime with a breakout, start, middle and even at the end.

You get 50ml of product in this glass jar and I haven’t even made a dent in this product yet, even though I’ve used it loads of times. It also has a gorgeous sweet scent like kiwi, but isn’t strong or overpowering AT ALL. If anything it’s just the right amount of scent you would want from any beauty product. I love the scent though for in the mornings when using this scrub as I feel it really does brighten me up and prepares me for the day ahead.

Overall I LOVE this sugar face scrub and it will definitely be becoming a part of my bathrooms family! I refuse to pay £9.99 for it however as I don’t feel it’s worth such a high price and instead I’ll be grabbing it whenever it’s on offer and I’m low on the product.

At the time of writing this review these sugar scrubs are half price at Superdrug and only cost £6.65 each! I’ll link the Clear Scrub I’ve reviewed and own here.

What do you think of the L’Oreal Sugar Scrubs? Do you love them, hate them? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re having a lovely week so far! I still can’t believe it’s June. 😛

L’Oreal Paris Infallible Matte Lip Paint in Nude-Ist – Review

Oh dear I can’t believe I haven’t written a review since before I went on holiday! The review was back in August and I do apologise for how long it’s taken me. I’m sure there are various reasons, mostly being too busy and to be honest a little bit too miserable to wear any lip products, which makes me feel sad.

I’ve been at my new job a week now and I can safely say I love it and wearing my lipsticks again is back, and that in itself makes me so happy! I haven’t yet ventured into wearing dark lipsticks but give it time… I’m sure I soon will when I feel comfortable!

In the meantime I dug out a lip paint that I picked up in September and have been meaning to review for quite a while now. I’ve felt a mixture of thoughts about this lip paint and after my holiday I put off using it for a while due to that. Of course I’ll go into that in more detail as and when I can throughout this review.

For now grab a not hot drink because it’s bloody freezing today and I hope you enjoy my review.

I’ve wanted to try one of the L’Oreal lip paints since they first came out, but I could never find a shade that I really liked the look of. I did notice Nude-Ist through the advertisements in Boots but I still wasn’t sure about it due to it being marked as a nude shade. I’m not a fan of nude shades AT ALL! However when I read Emily’s review of this over at her blog The Mini Mermaid. I loved her review so much of it and she included swatches, which encouraged me to swatch this myself and ended up with me buying it.

Although Nude-Ist is a nude shade, it does look more of a purple grey shade to me. Let’s just say that if it was shouting out nude, I wouldn’t buy it!

I want to start off but addressing one of the main issues I have with this lip paint and it’s nothing to do with the product itself… When I bought this all of the tubes in the display were scratched, I even grabbed one of the tubes from the back and it was the same, so I bought that one. None of these were protected in plastic either, so I didn’t know if I was picking up a new one or a tester, which was sort of annoying. When I got it home and tried it, it looked like it had been used due to the screw cap inside the tube being covered in the product. The tube also didn’t feel very full, as if it was half empty. I was meant to take it back to the store but ended up leaving it, as I bet they wouldn’t have been able to do anything about it.

This put me off using the product in all fairness, but it’s been okay. I have noticed a few issues though when I first bought it, but I don’t know if this is due to it actually being a used product or just the product in general. I’ll go into this as the review goes on. For now I’ll talk about the packaging itself.

It’s very different to most liquid lipsticks and lip paints. This one comes with a fluffy doe foot applicator which is my favourite to use when applying these sorts of lip products. Although I don’t like the style of the tube due to it not being see through it, I do like that you can squeeze it and thus get more product onto the applicator.

The product has a smell that I’ve noticed in previous L’Oreal lip products, including one of the lipsticks I bought and reviewed back in 2014, which you can read here. It reminds me of Parma Violets, which I’m not the biggest fan of. Due to the smell it does put me off wearing this lip paint if I’m being sensitive. There has been a couple of occasions where I’ve worn this and the smell has been so strong on my lips that when I’ve been breathing and talking through my mouth it’s made my throat sore due to the scent. Don’t get me wrong, it isn’t strong or heavy by any means and when I’ve re worn this again recently I’ve not encountered these issues again… So I’m not sure what it could be. Maybe I had applied too much of it on my lips.

This is definitely creamy in texture and due to that is so comfortable to wear throughout the day, as well as easy to apply! It’s also great to apply slight for a lighter colour, or heavier for a stronger colour payoff. I always go for the latter!

It’s meant to be a matte lip paint and due to the cream texture it sort of is, especially when it’s dried down a little. For a matte lip products it’s certainly comfortable to wear and that is always a bonus!

I find this wears really nice and I only really needed to top it up at work after I’d eaten my lunch. I drink various hot and cold drinks throughout the day now so doing wear tests are better than they used to be in my old job. This still wears well though even after various hot drinks.

This isn’t a liquid lipstick and won’t outlast a kiss test! This will transfer and the sight on my work mug (which is Adventure Time! :P) was crazy! This didn’t affect the colour though, which was great news to me.

This removes really well and just needs a baby wipe to remove, or just your make up remover. I have used Vaseline and baby wipes before, but either way it won’t leave a stain behind or your lips feeling sore, which is always a winner!

I do love Nude-Ist as it’s the perfect autumn and winter shade! I can honestly see me wearing this loads when the weather is colder due to how comfortable it is to wear. I also love how it’s not an “in your face” shade, but shows off my love for purple lipsticks!

As I always do (in traditional There Might Be Coffee fashion…) I’m showing off what the product looks like will full coverage, as well as what it looks like when it’s worn down.

With full coverage

With full coverage (my favourite picture! :D)

Worn down

I don’t know if I’d pick up anymore of these lip paints however, I’d definitely repurchase this shade but I think I would only pick it up in store if it had a secure wrapper on it. I don’t trust to buy another and for it to have been possibly used.

After reviewing this I really want to wear it tonight now, but I don’t think I can be bothered… As lazy as that is! 😛

Have you tried any of the L’Oreal lip paints? If so what did you think of them? Which shades do you have or want? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

Until next time take care all and I hope you have an awesome weekend.

March Favourites ’17

Wow it’s April already? I know I say this every month of every year but this year really is going fast already. It’s April now and with this month comes Dane’s birthday as well as us having some time off of work to do some stuff to the house. I can’t wait for mine and Dane’s week off together to be honest.

So it’s time for me to talk about my favourites from March, yay! AND don’t forget I now talk about lifestyle favourites every month now too. Double yay!

  • NSpa Fruit Extracts Strawberry Shower and Bath Gel.

I recently picked up this shower and bath gel on a random visit to Asda. I love the NSpa products and have never faulted them for their products, especially the shower and bath gels. I’ve tried various flavours but I’d never seen the strawberry one until that visit. We snapped it up straight away and both gave it a go in the shower the next morning. Oh my it is amazing! It smells just like strawberry lace sweeties which Dane loved. It reminds me of The Body Shop strawberry shower gel but this isn’t as nice. BUT I did find that this one is more moisturing! It’s also BRIGHT RED which is amazing, especially if you pop it into the bath. It smells amazing first thing in the morning and really wakes and perks you up for the day ahead. I definitely recommend giving it a go if you love strawberry flavoured things.

  • Blistex Relief Cream.

I mentioned last month in my February favourites (which you can read here) that my lips are suffering quite a lot lately and are constantly sore, uncomfortable and splitting. Since buying this lip cream it’s not been so bad, BUT my lips are still very sore and splitting. I’m going to blame stress and being in the cold quite a lot at work right now. If it doesn’t go though in the next week I’ll be going to the doctors as it’s becoming a joke now. It isn’t cold sores, it’s just weird. xD

  • Marc Jacobs Oh Lola EDP.

I recently dug this out of my perfume box recently and I actually forgot how much I love the scent. It’s very floral and refreshing and not only does it remind me of summer days, but also of Bristol, where me and Dane went for our first anniversary together. I think when this is finished I’ll be repurchasing it in the future. I want to get through quite a bit of my perfume collection at the moment so I can try some new scents.

  • Superdrug Refreshing Hydrogel Eye Patches.

I found these in Superdrug of late when buying my mom’s Mother’s Day present and I couldn’t pass up the chance to give them a go. I bought three as they were on a 3 for 2 offer and they don’t break the bank at almost £1.50 each. I’ve given two of them a go so far and they really do help if you have tired eyes. I haven’t found they help my dark circles but they don’t really claim to help with this. I’m currently working very early shifts right now so after a tired week of that these really do help when used before bed. I leave them on for a good 15-20 minutes whilst reading a book or playing with an app on my phone. Lovely!

  • St.Ives Blemish Fighting Apricot Scrub.

I mentioned this back in August on my favourites and I’m mentioning it again because I was recently reminded how good it is. I have always used it with a wet face and hands and although it did scrub my skin and leave it feeling lovely and soft, I didn’t feel like it was leaving me as soft as I wanted to be. However I recently tried it without wetting my face and hands and I find that it works so much better! You are supposed to use it on wet skin but meh. Although I have sensitive skin I don’t scrub too hard and don’t have any issues. It leaves my skin feeling baby soft and gorgeous. My love for this scrub has been renewed!

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – K-On

Dane recently introduced me to K-On, an anime about a group of high school girls who meet through the band club at school. You see them as they all develop as a band and how they do with their music. We’ve now finished season one and are soon to start season two. I love it so much! All the girls are adorable and the songs throughout the show are catchy and right up my street. My favourite character is Mio, the bass player who is the mature one of the group, but who is also scared of most things, especially singing on stage. 😛 I love her for that, as well as her being a left handed bass player like myself.

Favourite Film – A Silence Voice

I was so excited to go and watch this anime film! I wanted to book the first showing with Dane but sadly due to him working we weren’t able to. It looked like we had lost our only chance to go and watch this in the cinema but with a random Google search I found out they were doing one showing at The Electric in Birmingham. I booked it straight away and not long after I did it had sold out. This is definitely one of my favourite films of the year (including Logan) and I wish I could go and watch it again! I’ve attached the trailer above so you can see what it’s like.

Favourite Book – A Silent Voice

I had wanted to read the manga of this whilst I was reading Your Lie in April, as it was advertised at the end of each volume. I had already bought the first two volumes before we went to watch the anime film version, however just before going to watch it I ended up buying all seven volumes as I knew I wanted to read the rest after reading the first two. It has fast turned into my favourite manga series and I cannot wait to write a blog post about it as well as the anime when I finish the series. It’s about Shoya a cocky school boy who becomes a bully when deaf girl Shoko joins his class. She ends up leaving the school and he’s left on his own as a punishment for his actions by the rest of the children in his class. Years later he learns sign language so he can apologise for his actions years previously and from there we see how their friendship grows, as well as many more. It is a beautiful manga and one I recommend everyone to read.

Favourite Song – Sex Whales & Phantom Sage – One Day.

I LOVE songs that are brought out by NCS for so many reasons! Most of them I find are of the chilled electronic style which I love and are free to use. I can’t recall where I heard this song, but I’m pretty sure it was from a blogger or YouTuber. Either way it’s amazing and very chilled, something I can see me blasting throughout the summer both at home as well as on the move. I’m hoping to start doing YouTube videos this year and NCS songs are what I’d be using on any future videos.

Favourite Game – ???

Erm I can’t lie I haven’t played any games this month… Most of my time has been focused on reading manga in all honesty… Is that bad? 😛 I really do need to pick up Pokemon Moon again though! As well as some of my Lego games. We did buy Lego Worlds when it was released and whilst Dane loves it, I’m not a huge fan. I’m not used to playing Lego games like that and as silly as it sounds it creeped me out a tad. 😛

So those were my favourites from March. It was hard to think of stuff I loved this month apart from the shower and bath gel and the Blistex cream. Only because I just didn’t take much notice really. That and due to my lips being sore lip products other than balms or creams are a no no, which makes me very sad. 😦

What were you loving throughout March? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time take care all and I hope you have a lovely weekend.

October Empties

Another month, another empties post. I think I have come to the decision that in 2015 empties posts will be no more on my blog. It’s not that I don’t enjoy writing them, because I do but having to store empty bottles in my bathroom for a month is somewhat hoarding behaviour and I don’t like that personally. Hey if I finish off a product I REALLY liked then I might just mention that in my favourites or something, but either way having to collect a bag full of empty products just is annoying and it annoys my family too, so I can see next month being my last empties post.

But for now I shall tell you about what I used up throughout October!

  • Superdrug Nail Polish Remover.

This is a bog standard nail polish remover and a very good one at that! I’ve had this a while and that’s because a little bit of this goes a long way so it’s taken me well over a year to get rid of it! I would have re-purchased this but at the time of realising I needed some new polish remover I ended up picking a cheap bottle up from Home Bargains. I would definitely buy this again as it was really good at a cheap price.

  • N SPA Cherry Body Scrub.

I mentioned this in my September Favourites last month and I can safely say I would re-purchase this! It lasted ages, smelt gorgeous and left my skin feeling and looking gorgeous and soft! It wasn’t the best body scrub in the world but for the price I paid it did a really good job in my opinion. Check this out if you’re after a decent body scrub on a budget.

  • The Body Shop Hand Cleanse Gel in Pink Grapefruit and Sweet Lemon.

I LOVE The Body Shops hand sanitizers, I’ve said this time and time again and I mean it! I’ve recently picked up 3 more as I just can’t live without having one of these in my back pack, nor my apron at work. They work really well to keep your hands germ free and smell gorgeous too. The Body Shop have these on 3 for 2 so I suggest you grab some bargains with these. One thing to say on these though is that Sweet Lemon was a limited edition scent from a few summers ago so you can’t pick this up anymore, gutted!

  • Simple Kind To Skin Antibacterial Hand Wash.

I loved this hand wash and over the years my hands either loved it or hated it, so I’m glad they saw my side as to how amazing it is. It’s a gorgeous fresh mint hand wash that leaves your hands smelling, feeling and being clean and fresh. I was meant to re-purchase this but when I went to the shop to buy it, there weren’t any left so I was left buying something else. I will be picking this up again soon mind, I don’t think I can live without it now.

The reason for these three products having an edited image is that all I have left of the two Lush products are empty wrappers and due to wanting to get all the product I resulted in cutting up the Hand Food tube to nothing… Now that that is cleared up… 😛

  • Lush Magic Bath Bomb.

I owned this bath bomb for an age, another purchase from my friend Mali (maliberrymakeup) and one I had saved and saved until I didn’t want to save anymore and a few baths later this was gone. It was an enjoyable bath bomb but not one I would buy again in a hurry. It had some sort of seaweed inside which grossed me out a tad and I had to scoop it all out of the bath water before I got in. It did seem to help my aching muscles though which was lovely and the blue bath water with red made it a purple shade which I adored. It’s a shame this is limited edition as it’s such a nice shaped bath bomb.

  • Soap & Glory Hand Food hand cream.

I have had a love hate relationship with this hand cream from day one and whilst it was a lovely hand cream, it had a horrible scent which I really disliked. This kept my hands gorgeously soft throughout the months I used it and it was a staple for my back pack. Would I buy this again? Possibly if they change the scent WHICH I have noticed they have done with one of their Christmas sets. I pray that they bring out Hand Food in the Sugar Crush scent. I CAN ONLY PRAY!

  • Lush Candy Mountain Bubble Bar.

I love this bubble bar so much and I finally used mine up from last Christmas, in preparation to buy another this year. This has the same scent as Creamy Candy Bubble Bar but it just looks that little prettier, don’t you think? This is a real girly bath bomb and also a real treat for myself when I fancy something sweet after a long day. The scent lingers on the skin for ages and I just can’t get enough. Will be buying some more by the end of Christmas to keep me through 2015.

So those were my empties, and they were also all spoken about short and sweet, I do apologise for that.

What products have you used up this month? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Tanya Burr Lip Gloss in Exotic Island – Review

This evening I’m bringing you a review that I have been so excited to write-up (and FYI this is my first ever lip gloss review!) I’ve only owned this lip gloss 2 weeks but it certainly feels like a lot longer! I’ve used it quite a lot and it’s already one of my favourite go to products.

I’m talking about one of Tanya Burr’s lip glosses, which launched back late February this year, as well as nail polishes by Tanya Burr too.

For a while the lip glosses and nail polishes were only available to purchase from Feel Unique, but at the start of April they were launched in Superdrug, which I was super excited about! I knew just days after their launch in Superdrug that I would be going shopping for my boyfriends birthday and I decided I would treat myself to one of her lip glosses, which one however, I wasn’t 100% sure on!

There are 12 shades to choose from, Smile, Dream, Sparkle, Champagne Toast, First Date, Just Peachy, Afternoon Tea, Chic, Picnic In The Park, Aurora, Exotic Island, Let’s Travel The World, Heart Skipped A Beat and Vampire Kiss.

In this review I’m going to be reviewing the shade I opted for, as well as the collection as a whole, as I have a few things I want to say about it.

DSC_0002  DSC_0003

I opted for Exotic Island, a gorgeous dark pink, sort of like a raspberry shade and the shade itself reminds me of my MAC lipstick Daddy’s Little Girl, which came out with the Archie’s Girls Collection. You can check out the review for that here, but that shade was classed as “mid-tone pink violet” which is probably what the shade is for Exotic Island.

DSC_0004

DSC_0009

The packaging for this lip gloss is simple but really lovely and delicate, something anyone would be pleased to pull out of their handbag. It’s a clear tube, which shows off the lip gloss shade perfectly and has a black lid, which has a cute little pink heart on the top, which just adds to the girlyness of the product as a whole. Also the writing on the gloss itself is written in Tanya Burr’s own handwriting, which I thought was a nice touch and made it feel that little bit more personal.

The packaging that Feel Unique buyers got for this was a cardboard packet with a picture of Tanya Burr on it, however if you purchase the lip glosses from Superdrug,  you just get the lip gloss of your choice in a wrapper, so you’ll know no one has opened it… Unless they’ve ripped it apart to try and swatch.

DSC_0008

The gloss itself is really pigmented as well as non sticky, which everyone looks for in a lip gloss nowhere days so when I applied this to my lips for the first time, I was nothing but disappointed! Pigmentation wise I’m not sure if this can be said for ALL of the shades from the collection, as a couple of weeks after purchasing Exotic Island I swatched another shade from the collection when I popped into Superdrug in Milton Keynes and it was more of a light pink than the red that it looks like in the tube. SO if you are able to swatch, make sure to.

DSC_0005

DSC_0006

The applicator for this lip gloss is a flat and long doe foot applicator, which I’m always happy with using. However this applicator is better than the usual doe foot as it’s longer and wider, meaning if you have fuller lips that you’ll be able to apply it quicker and possibly more even, if you have thin lips… I don’t know if there would be an issue or not, but really I don’t see why not!

A little of this gloss goes a long way and I find myself quickly applying it before I head to work, as well as during my shifts as it’s just such a lovely gloss to wear! I don’t know if it contains any conditioning properties but it certainly feels like it does! I wear this as my lazy lip gloss a majority of the time, but that being said I have worn this for some evenings out with friends as it’s just lovely to wear and it lasts ages in my opinion.

As if it couldn’t get any better, this lip gloss also has a gorgeous scent to it! It smells like sweeties, boiled sweeties you would get from your grandparents as a child. Which sweets however, I haven’t got a clue! The nice smell just means it tastes nice too, so you can’t go wrong with this and as it isn’t an overpowering sweet smell, more of a subtle smell, ladies out there who hate scented lip products needn’t worry as this won’t make you gag!

Overall I’m really happy with this lip gloss and I would like to own another one, maybe two lip glosses from the collection! Two I have my eye on are Afternoon Tea and Vampire Kiss. Whether or not I’ll pick them up, who knows (but it’s more than likely!).

Here you are, a few pictures of me wearing the product to see how it shows up on my complexion (FYI I’m yellow toned).

DSC_0010 edit

DSC_0015edit

Okay now onto the things I wish to talk about with the collection as a whole. There are some good and some bad things I’ll be mentioning.

Pros:

  • The collection is huge and with a shade that will suit anyone, with any skin tone.
  • These are affordable and now that they’re available to buy in Superdrug that’s just great!
  • The gloss itself is gorgeous in so many ways! The pigmentation, the doe foot applicator, how it isn’t sticky and finally how it smells lovely, but of course this is all mentioned above in more detail.

Cons:

  • Although the collection has a shade that will suit anyone with any skin tone, there are quite a few shades similar to others in the collection, but personally this doesn’t bother me. However I know some whom it has bothered.
  • When I went into Superdrug to first check these out, there weren’t any testers which was a pain as for all I knew I could have picked up Exotic Island expecting it to be a bright purple shade and be solely disappointed that it isn’t. However for me this isn’t the case, but if I hadn’t of tested one of the shades out that someone had opened previous to me, I would have been very annoyed to discover that the shade was NOTHING like it was in the tube when I arrived home with it… As personally I wouldn’t have wanted it. But this is just a personal preference and for all I know Superdrug could be getting testers out now!

So overall the pros weigh the cons but even if the cons outweighed the pros it wouldn’t be a bad thing as this collection is amazing!

Tanya Burr has created the perfect drug store lip gloss for the normal lady. All we want is a range of shades of lip gloss that will smell good, last ages, have good pigmentation and be affordable. This is Tanya Burr’s first collection and I really hope she teams up with Eye Candy again to create another as it would be amazing.

You can buy your Tanya Burr lip glosses at £6.99 each from:

Feel Unique

Superdrug (both in-store and online)

Cloud 10 Beauty

Pom Shop LTD

Have you checked out the lip glosses by Tanya Burr? If so, do you like them? Any you own or have on your wish list? Let me know in the comments down below!

I apologise that this post is up so late at night, I’ve been pretty busy all day and have only just had time to get this post finished off and published on my blog.

Until next time, take care all and I hope your weeks have started off well.

MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer in Reckless – Review

DSC_0272

After about a months since these babies came out, I’m finally reviewing one of the two shades that I own! They’re the amazing Velvet Lip Lacquer’s by MUA and everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) has been going crazy for them! They’ve been compared to Lime Crime’s Velvetines and whilst some agree they’re just as good, some disagree. Either way I’m glad MUA have come out with these as I refuse to buy from Lime Crime, I won’t go into reasons why here.

I heard about these from my friend Amy over at Von Dork and I couldn’t believe I hadn’t heard about them until that point! She’d informed me that everywhere was sold out of these beauties and they were pretty hard to find and she wasn’t wrong. I popped into a couple of Superdrug stores and I just couldn’t find them. I tried both the Superdrug stores in town, nothing. One in Coventry, nothing and even a quiet store near my  home, nothing! Finally I couldn’t wait any longer and I decided to order Reckless online!

The Velvet Lip Lacquer’s come in five shade; Atomic (orange coral shade), Kooky (a dark purple), Funk (a darkish pink), Criminal (a more Barbie/neon pink) and finally Reckless (a classic red).

I own both Reckless and Kooky, Reckless being the first shade I picked up from the collection.

DSC_0273

DSC_0274

The first thing I want to talk about with this is the gorgeous packaging! Each these only cost £3, which is a bargain price for what you get. It comes in this black and gold card packaging, that makes the lip lacquer look great and it also explains on the back a little bit about the product itself, which is always good. The wand is a frosted plastic with a black matte lid that has the name of the brand and product in gold. This looks really classy and makes the lip lacquer look more expensive than it actually is, which is great of course and although I’m not about what a product looks like, I can’t ignore the fact for MUA it looks rather more expensive.

The applicator on this is one of those little doe foot ones which in a way does and doesn’t help make this easy to apply. In the first week of owning this I hated it because it took me so long to apply to my lips, especially my top lip and contemplated sending it back for a refund or even popping it on eBay to sell half price. BUT after scouring the internet for some help, I found what I needed to use to help this product work, which I’ll be mentioning soon enough.

DSC_0276

DSC_0275

Please excuse my horrible hands! The pigmentation of this is amazing and when I swatched this on my hand it didn’t wash off fully for a good day or two! I’d describe Reckless as being a classic red colour but with a vampyness to it, if that makes sense. It’s a dark red I find but it works as a classic red shade, which will be great for 50’s looks.

Due to this being like a gloss it glides onto the lips easily and as it’s really pigmented it leaves a lot of colour behind too! As I mentioned before, the doe foot applicator can make it tricky to apply this to certain areas of the lips, mostly the line of your lips as this doe foot applicator isn’t exactly small and unless you have huge lips you’re going to struggle.

DSC_0297

Photo 19-12-2013 14 25 16

However thanks to doing some research I found out that although it wasn’t happening with MUA, over the pond in America some beauty bloggers were having issues applying their liquid lipsticks the same way as I was and had tried using a lip liner beforehand, commenting how it had worked. So I popped into Superdrug and picked up Barry M’s Lip Liner in number 3 which is a red and whilst sitting in the bath (YES THE BATH!) I drew in the line of my lips with the pencil and coloured my lips in with it, just to give the lip lacquer something to stick to as I thought it would help it last longer, as well as make the colour pop a bit more and it worked!

Now onto the staying power! The staying power is amazing and whilst some bloggers have been saying it’s rubbish, it really isn’t. I’ve worn this for work and only after having a couple of drinks it has lasted me my whole shift (between 5-6 hours) which is great!

Due to its staying power it’s also good for kissing as when dries completely it doesn’t smudge or come off onto anything, so I did a tester on the side of my boyfriends face and there were no marks whatsoever, which I think he was pleased about!

Although you shouldn’t put any glosses, balms, etc over the top of these lip lacquers, I sometimes pop some Vaseline Paint The Town Red (review here) over the top as the matte to me can be a bit drying at times. The only problem with doing this is that  the staying power of this won’t matter as when the gloss or balm you applied begins to come off, the lip lacquer will too, which in itself is a real shame!

Either way it is worth doing that if you want to have something moisturising over the top of the lip lacquer, as matte can be quite drying to some and as the weather is getting dramatically colder, I think it’s best to keep those lips soft and moisturised!

Now, due to these have such amazing staying power, it does mean they can be tricky to remove. I find a good make up remover helps to wipe off these and I’m using Simples Eye Make Up Remover to do this. I soak the cotton pad in the remover and push it gently down on my lips for a while and then gently wipe the product away. I try not to scrub my lips as our lips are very sensitive and I don’t want to cause any damage to them if I can help it!

Photo 19-12-2013 14 23 19

Photo 19-12-2013 14 25 37

Overall I love, love, LOVE this lip lacquer, so much so I picked up another one a few weeks later in Kooky (which I’ll make sure to review in the future!). I’ve wanted a classic red lipstick for a while and although this isn’t a lipstick, it’s a liquid version which is fine with me! It’s a gorgeous red to wear throughout the rest of the winter season and I can see me wearing it loads before spring is upon us once again.

It’s a great product if you want to try out liquid lipsticks but don’t want to pay loads for them. You can get them in an array of colours (as I mentioned at the start of this post) and from swatching the shades there are some wearable shades in there and some daring ones.

Since these coming out they’re now more available to pick up, which is great, so for £3 pick one up to try.

Have you bought any of the MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquers? If so which one(s) have you picked up?

If you haven’t bought any yet, how come and do you intend to in the future?

Leave me any answers or even questions about this product in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all. I’m off to rest for the day as I’m rather poorly.

MUA Power Pout Colour Intense Tint & Lip Balm in Broken Hearted Review

Another week, another lip product, another review. If you’re a regular reader you’ll know just how much I love my lip products and when a new type of lip product hits the shelves, I’ll try my best to get my mitts on one to try! The latest addition to lip products is of course the lip crayon.

Clinique were the first to bring out the lip crayons and eventually Revlon, Bourjois, Seventeen and even Rimmel are getting on the bandwagon!

I’ve wanted one of the Clinique Chubby Sticks for ages, but I’m in two minds whether or not I want one at the same time. I have my eye on shade Plushest Punch after seeing a review of it (here) a while ago. However at their £17.00 price mark I’m a tad put off for the meantime, especially as I’m pretty poor at this moment in time too.

A few months back I was wandering around Superdrug with my Mom, looking around the make up counters when I stumbled upon MUA’s stand and noticed they had their own lip crayons for sale. I tried out all the shades and decided that Broken Hearted was the shade I liked the most.

The Power Pout lip crayons come in six shades altogether, Broken Hearted, Crazy In Love, Irreplaceable, Justify, Rendezvous and Runway.

DSC_0001

DSC_0002

As I’ve already mentioned, I chose Broken Hearted. These lip crayons are only £3.00 each, so I was pretty good not to walk out with more!

MUA claim that the Power Pout’s are both a tint and a lip balm so they’ll make your lips look gorgeous, as well as be protected and moisturised at the same time. They do definitely give great colour pay off and they do make my lips feel soft and smooth and at the moment this has been the lip product I’ve been reaching for when going to work as it’s so quick and easy to apply and it lasts ages!

DSC_0003

Broken Hearted is described by MUA as a deep rich raspberry, which is pretty accurate, it reminds me of a dull hot pink too, which will work wonders for anyone who it too shy to wear a hot pink lip colour.

Due to this being a lip balm it leaves a glossy finish, which looks really nice and it feels creamy too, perfect if you don’t like a matte or satin finish on your lips, which can feel really drying.

The lip crayon glides on easily with no tugging and as it is in the shape of a pen it’s easy to apply, especially if you have thin lips. When the product wears down you don’t need to sharpen it either as with a few twists at the bottom of the crayon the lip colour will just come up.

As well as looking great it smells lovely too. It smells somewhat minty and I’ve found when applied to the lips it’ll leave a slight tingle, but nothing like what a plumping lip product would do.

Whilst I have many positives about Heart Broken, I do also have some negatives that I know other beauty bloggers have mentioned in their reviews of the Power Pout’s too.

If left in a warm room or taken out when hot, they WILL melt. This happened to mine the last time I saw my friend Poppy and the crayon itself has moved so it’s ended up mushing against the inside of the crayon tube, which is really annoying! Due to this it’s hard to wind up to reveal more product and when applying the lip product you can see it hitting against the sides of the crayon tube, which just makes me cringe.

As well as this due to it melted a little once in my room one night when it was really humid, the lip crayons tip has gone a bit mushed, but personally this doesn’t bother me, as it’s molded in a shape that makes the product easier to apply on my lips than it was before.

I guess it isn’t so bad that this lip crayon didn’t break the bank at £3.00, I’d be really annoyed if it was one of the Clinique Chubby Sticks!

Photo 09-10-2013 13 43 40

Photo 09-10-2013 13 43 58

I really like this lip crayon though and so far it’s the only one I own, thus the first one I’ve owned so I don’t have much to compare it to. I’m hoping to pick up a Bourjois and Clinique one in the future, but we’ll see.

For £3.00 each, the Power Pout’s are worth picking up and the choice of shades is incredible too!

Will you be picking up one of these to try?

If you already have one, which shade do you own? Let me know in the comments below.

Until next time, take care all and I hope your week is going well so far!

October Wish List

Finally after months without one, I finally have a new wish list out!

I’m currently sat in Xscape in Milton Keynes, watching my boyfriend and his friend snowboarding. I’m sad that I’m not able to join them, but my time will come.

So whilst they go off snowboarding, I’m sat in the cafe watching them on the slope and writing up a wish list post. I’m using my boyfriends MacBook Pro, as he has Photoshop, which I lost on my old laptop when it died on me.

So, I have plenty of lovely things to show you, so let’s get on with the post! 😀

October Wish List

  • Heart Elbow Patch Jumper from ASOS – £22.00.

I noticed this jumper from ASOS months ago and have been pinning over it ever since. I have pleather skater skirt just like what the model is wearing in the picture, so in the autumn and winter months I’d be wearing that sort of outfit out during the day and in the evening. I think this jumper would also look lovely with a tartan skirt of some skinny fit jeans, teamed with boots of course, or creepers. I love the little heart-shaped elbow patches, they just make it look really girly and cute. You can also get this in black with brown elbow patches, but I didn’t like the black and brown combination.

  • Sweetheart Dress by Wal G from Topshop – £30.00.

This lace dress by Wal G comes in loads of different colours, but I opted for the bordeaux shade, as I thought it would look gorgeous throughout the autumn and winter season this year. I love lace dresses for this time of year too. For it being stocked in Topshop I was amazed at how cheap it is and if it wasn’t for being so poor at the moment, I’d have bought it by now. This would look lovely during the day and the evening as it would look great with a pair of boots, creepers or even some spiked flats, of course with my spiked pleather jacket to match. I’d mostly wear this dress with my navy military coat, or what I like to call my Sherlock coat. 😛

  • Burgundy Fox Print Jumper from New Look – (Was £24.99 when I wrote this post) £12.00.

When it comes to chilly weather, you can NEVER have enough jumpers and with bonfire night and even the Christmas German Market looming upon us before we know it, I’ll be needing as many snuggly jumpers as possible and as burgundy is one of my favourite colours and foxes one of my favourite animals… It’s as if this jumper was made for me! It looks super soft and snug and as soon as I get spare cash I’m going to go into New Look to try it on. I’d definitely team this with black skinny fit jeans and shorts, as it’ll look and feel lovely. Teamed with boots and a warm coat and I’ll be toasty warm all autumn and winter!

  • DC Rebound Hi Se from DC Shoes – £35.00.

I love DC SHoes as a company, so I of course love their footwear! I’ve owned a pair of DC Rebound Hi shoes since I was 18/19 years old and they’re still lasting me now, however they’re white and very much neon and even though I love them so dearly, I would like a darker coloured pair that I can wear throughout the colder months. I’ve been keeping my eye on these since May and every other month the price of these has gone down. Eventually I will buy these, I love the navy and white, but I especially love the red bandana style pattern on the shoe itself. It’s only minor on the shoe but it looks so nice. I saw someone wearing these on a train ride to my boyfriends a couple of weeks back and even though the woman who wore them had smaller feet than me (size 3 at a guess, I’m a 7!) they looked very comfortable and I regret not asking her if they were as comfortable as they looked!

  • Cut Out High-Waisted Black Skirt With Shoulder-Strap from Choies – £25.99.

I follow meowismful’s blog via Bloglovin’, but I’m also a subscriber to her YouTube channel and when she spoke about this skirt on one of her haul videos, I just fell in love with it! It’s really grunge and I think it would look beautiful teamed up with jumpers, quirky t-shirts and worn with creepers is a must too! I think I’d be inclined to wear this skirt all year round and as it’s a one size fits all, I’d certainly hope it would fit me, as I have quite a big bum and skirts sometimes ride up, it can depend on the material. This does remind me of something I’d have seen being worn by someone on Tumblr, which gives it a massive thumbs up in my books!

  • Pinnafore 2 For Dress from Warehouse  – £35.00.

I saw this dress over on alittleboatsailing’s blog two months ago and just fell in love with it so much! There’s something gothic about it that I like and I think it would be lovely worn in the winter time with my big red coat and my boots, it would give it a bit of edge I think. However I did go into Warehouse to buy this but they didn’t have any left in my size, so I was told, “If you go onto the website you can get Warehouse to send us your size for you to buy from here.” So as soon as I got home I did just that, that was back towards the end of July and my dress still hasn’t been shipped to the stored I needed it to go to, which to me is just wrong and bad customer service. This has put me off buying this dress a little bit, but that being said it’s so damn pretty that I just need it in my life!

  • Vans Sk8 Hi Marvel Spider-Man Trainers – £65.00.

When I heard about this I went to go and look at them on Schuh’s website straight away and let’s just say, I fell in love and contemplated getting myself overdrawn… Bu I was smarter than that and have waited patiently for them. I know these are on my Christmas/Birthday list for someone to buy me or for myself to save up for and sadly buy myself as some sort of self present. I heard that the design on these is perfect and that they look better in the flesh than they do on the pictures and they were right. The front of the shoe where its red is suede and has a beautiful web print on them, perfect for any Spider-Man fan, like myself. As you all know I love Spider-Man and to have these to wear out and about would be a dream come true. I love Vans trainers, they’re so comfortable and my 7-year-old Vans trainers haven’t let me down yet and are as comfortable as they were the day I bought them back in 2006. I’d wear these trainers with skinny jeans and maybe baggy jeans. These are what I would wear when I’m not feeling up to making an effort or if I’m walking around a lot. I wonder if I’ll get them for Christmas… *hint hint* 😉

  • Natural Bamboo Cute Fawn Handmade Phone Cover from and by Little Doe – £18.99.

I’m a fan of Little Doe’s jewellery, she likes foxes and deers like myself and when Scarlet posted a picture of this phone case on her Facebook page, I was hooked instantly and knew I just needed this cover for my iPhone! It’s made out of natural bamboo and has a gorgeous picture of a female fawn on it. You can have it customised too by picking from a selection of colours (pink, black, red, lavender, yellow & mint green) that you would like to have for the fawns rose, I’ve already decided that I would like mint green for mine. You also don’t have to own and iPhone 5 to become an owner of this gorgeous case, it’s also available for the iPhone 4, iPhone 4s, Samsung Galaxy S3 and Samsung Galaxy S4. I can’t wait to get my hands on one and when Scarlet announced she would be bringing out designs with foxes on, I felt ecstatic! I can’t wait! 😀

  • Barry M Matte Nail Paints from Barry M’s website, Superdrug & Boots – £3.99 each.

When I heard that Barry M were bringing out matte nail paints I was pretty excited about it and the fact that they’re all named after coffee related things just made me laugh… Because I work in a coffee shop of course! So anyway, you get five different shades to choose from and whilst I don’t want all of them, I probably want most! You have Espresso (matte black), Crush (red wine), Caramel (coffee brown), Vanilla (light grey) and Mocha (a dark brown). All the shades are beautiful but the ones that are catching my eyes the most are definitely Espresso, Crush and Vanilla. I could see me wearing Espresso to death over the winter period as I love wearing black nail polish and for Espresso to look matte and leather like when you wear it, it appeals to me a lot. By the time this post goes live, these polishes will be available to purchase in both Superdrug and Boots stores.

Well that was my wish list for this month! I’ve really missed making wish lists and as my boyfriend is lovely enough to let me use his MacBook Pro to write-up and edit posts together for images, I think my wish lists will see a quick return to my blog!

What have you seen that you hope to add to your wish list for October? Let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you have a good weekend.
