November Empties

This is the final empties post I’ll be doing, sad times! I just don’t have it in my heart to do these posts anymore and if anything they feel like a chore to do at the best of times. If I really want to rave about a product then I’ll review it, or even have it mentioned on my favourites post. Also if I’ve used a product I really didn’t like I’ll probably do a “Monthly Dislikes” post, but we shall see!

For now let me tell you about my empties from last month, there are quite a few.

  • Gillette Satin Care Shave Gel.

I’ve mentioned this before, if you would like to read more about it look here.

  • Palmolive Lavender & Chamomile Caring & Aromatic Hand Wash.

I somewhat enjoyed this hand wash but not enough that I would buy it again. It smelt really nice and due to the ingredients had a lovely relaxing scent to it afterwards. This left my hands feeling soft and clean but not as soft as other hand washes have in the past, which was a little disappointing. I wouldn’t buy this again however as whilst the scent was nice, it was also a little on the overpowering side. If you love lavender and camomile then you’ll love this!

  • Dolly’s Mixtures Shower Gel in Pina Colada.

I really enjoyed using this shower gel and for a £1 I’m pretty chuffed that I picked it up! These are from ASDA and come in variety of scents. They’re a strong scent and foam up beautifully when applied to a sponge. When I used this my skin felt lovely and soft, and smelt amazing! I love pina colada’s so anything that smells of it just makes me happy, as sad as that sounds. It just reminds me of summer evenings, last Christmas with my family, and how holidays should smell of. I will definitely pick up this scent again, but I would like to try one of the other scents first.

  • T-Zone Clear Pore Anti-Bacterial Cleanser.

This is a great and basic cleanser which only costs a couple of quid, if that! I’ve already spoken about this in the past so I’m going to leave that link here.

  • The Body Shop Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet.

I LOVE this moisturiser and I already have another pot of it which I’ve started to use! I’ve written a full review about this when I first bought it, which you can check out here. I’m really pleased that this lasted me three months, although I won’t lie, it has felt like a lot longer!

  • Wilko Fruits Bath Pearls.

These bath pearls really did remind me of my childhood. My Mom used to take me to The Body Shop once a month and treat me to a couple of shower gels and some bath pearls. I loved using them in the bath and how they would explode inside. I never saw them for years until now and what a let down these are! I only used a couple, the rest of the packet were used by my boyfriend, who loved them! But he’d never experience bath pearls as a kid, so the child in him loved these I reckon. These were good, don’t get me wrong. They release different scented oils which leave the skin feeling a little greasy and moisturised, but I just didn’t like them. The nostalgia just wasn’t there 100% and I was pretty gutted because of it. BUT for a £1, I can’t complain.

  • Wilko Fruits Bath Bomb in Blueberry & Grape and Lemon & Black Pepper.

I didn’t use these bath bombs, my boyfriend did but I just wanted to talk about these. I reviewed the Strawberry & Pomegranate bath bomb and it wasn’t the most positive of reviews. After using the bath bomb I was rather poorly and left with a urine infection and thrush. I do have sensitive skin, but I didn’t think that these would make me THAT ill! As my Mom bought me three of these bath bombs for £3 I had two left over to use up. My boyfriends been staying at mine the last couple of weeks in November and as he wanted a bath or two, I decided he might like to use these. He did! He doesn’t have sensitive skin like I do and therefore didn’t come across any issues. He said his skin felt soft and he did smell really nice after use. These two bath bombs smell amazing, much better than the Strawberry & Pomegranate one! I guess I just wish I could have used these myself, but alas I’m not risking getting ill again. It isn’t worth it. If you don’t suffer from sensitive skin, or want to get your boyfriend something nice for Christmas, definitely invest in these as they’re great for men and come in a variety of scents.

So that was my last empties post… Are you going to miss this series? If I get enough people saying they will, I may keep on doing it. I’m going to see how I feel.

What did you use up during November? Let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time, take care all and I hope December is going well for everyone so far.

September Empties

Excuse my language but holy shit I used up a lot of products in September! I don’t think I’ve ever had this many items in an empties post and it’s really surprised me.

I won’t lie, I am glad to be rid of a lot of the products I had as whilst most were good, it is good to have a clear out so that new things may be bought and wasted money on. 😛

I just want to get this out there now that when we enter into 2015, I’m not 100% sure if I will be writing up anymore empties posts as whilst I do enjoy doing them I do just think it’s a hassle to save up all the empty bottles in my bathroom. I am just putting this down to how much I saved up this month and I may change my mind, we shall see how the next three/four months go…

  • Gillette Satin Care Shave Gel.

I’ve mentioned this before, if you would like to read more about it look here.

  • Hello Kitty Liberty Body Wash.

I was given this body wash in a gift set from my sister-in-law and I really did love it! I saved it for quite a while until I decided to use it and within a few weeks it was gone and I have missed using it. It was softening on the skin, lathered beautifully and left my skin smelling gorgeous! It reminds me of the scent the old pink FCUK products that Boots sold at Christmas time in the early 00’s and it really did leave me with some childhood memories! If this is out again this year I’ll probably pick some up as I really enjoyed using this. I am really sad to see it finished.

  • Philip Kingsley Body Building Shampoo.

I’ve had this shampoo for ages so when it finally came to its end I was really shocked! It just didn’t seem like it was ever going to run out. I’ve since repurchased this in a 1 litre bottle as I really do love this shampoo! If you want to read more about this it featured on my 2013 Favourites, you can find that here.

  • Carex Strawberry Fun Shower & Bath.

I LOVED this shower and bath and when it ran out I was actually really sad, but at the same time I wasn’t as it only cost me a £1, YES A WHOLE POUND COIN! This really did smell like sweet strawberries and perfect for children or anyone who loves strawberries like myself. This really did remind me of The Body Shop’s strawberry shower gel and on a recently shopping trip I picked one up for my boyfriend, who loves it just as much as I do. This leaves your skin feeling great and smelling delicious and it was a treat to use in the bath alongside a fruity bath bomb. BUY IT if you want to try something good, you won’t regret it.

  • I Love… Cosmetics Hand Wash in Mango & Papaya.

Although this featured in my favourites last month (read here), I really couldn’t wait to see the back of this product throughout September. It wasn’t a bad product but I found that due to its bright orange colour if you dripped any on the side, it would stain and has stained. I won’t be picking up this scent again, but I will pick up one of the others, preferably the coconut scent! Otherwise this was great, it smelt delicious and left my hands feeling clean and moisturised.

  • Soap & Glory The Greatest Scrub Of All Facial Exfoliator.

Another product I couldn’t wait to see in the bin! I used to love this scrub, it was my holy grail and when I suffered with some dry eczema style rash on my face years ago, this was the only thing that cleared it up! However over the years I have grown bored with this and now I can’t stand using it anymore. I didn’t even finish this product up, it just one day seemed to go gloopy and I ended up just throwing the rest of the product away. The things I don’t like about this scrub is how greasy it feels on the skin after use, it makes me cringe just the thought of it! I think it’s just to moisturise the skin but I just don’t like it. As well as that the scent is disgusting, I don’t get soap & Glory’s scents but apart from Sugar Crush they all make me feel sick. Shame that as the past year has gone by, I’ve grown to dislike most of Soap & Glory’s products. It does make me rather sad.

  • T-Zone Clear Pore Gel Facial Wash.

I LOVE this face wash and as soon as I was running low I picked up a replacement. This costs less than £2 to buy and it really is worth the money. I don’t know if it’s due to what food I eat, me getting older or the face products I now use but I’ve noticed since using this wash that my skin has improved a hell of a lot! I recommend this to teenagers with troublesome skin so SO much as this is what I used to use when I was a teenager and it really did help my oily skin. You can pick T-Zone up at great prices in Home Bargains and Body Care, so keep your eyes peeled.

  • Sure Maximum Protection Deodorant in Sensitive.

I get through one of these every month and since May I haven’t mentioned one… I think because of the fact I always mention one and I always mention the same thing… Go and read about it here! 😛

  • The Body Shop Coconut Hand Cleanse Gel.

I love my hand sanitizers and I REALLY loved this one! I bought it when I went to Bristol in June and since then it has been so lovely to use, having a sniff of the empty bottle now reminds me of summer and Bristol. Soon as I can I will be picking up another bottle. I recommend The Body Shop cleanse gels so much as not only do they keep your hands germ free, but they leave your hands smelling lovely too. Go and check them out!

  • Carex Strawberry Laces Hand Gel.

Whilst The Body Shop cleanse gel was great, this was a let down and I couldn’t wait to finish the bottle! When you smell the bottle it has a light scent of strawberries, which is pleasant but when you use this on your hands it just stinks of alcohol and I hated it because of that. It wasn’t worth the money I paid (I paid £2 for 2) and I regretted buying it as soon as I started to use it. I don’t recommend, head to The Body Shop and pick up their strawberry cleanse gel, it’ll be worth the extra money and last longer! The cap on this was also rubbish and it opened inside my work apron and leaked everywhere, was really annoying. Don’t waste your money!

  • Wilko Fruits Bath Bomb in Strawberry & Pomegranate.

The first thing I want to say about this bath bomb is how awful it is. My Mom bought me 3 bath bombs for £3, as she knows how much I love my bath bombs! As soon as she brought them home I knew I wanted to try one out, so I popped the whole bomb into the bath and had a good, long soak! I just want to apologise if I go into TMI here but I just want to get out there how this product made me poorly. Before using this in the bath, I was fine but the day after I didn’t feel myself, but the day after that I was rather poorly… And it turned out I had thrush. I suffered from it for a week and it was painful and uncomfortable and I KNOW for a fact it was due to this bath bomb. If you have sensitive skin (or sensitive bits like I clearly do!) then steer clear of this product as whilst it felt moisturising on my skin it really did leave me feeling poorly and run down. I haven’t used the other 2 bath bombs and I have contemplated taking them back to get my money back. I’m not going to bother wasting mine or anyone else’s money on the Fruits collection anymore. I am really disappointed as the collection has had a lot of positive comments. For a little money I would just prefer to splash out on Lush.

So those were my empties of September, I still can’t believe how many products I finished! I doubt it’ll be the same in October, but who knows!

I hope everyone had a great September and I shall see you next month.

Until next time, take care all.

August Empties

DSC_0010

Alright so I know I didn’t do an empties post for July, but that’s because I only had one thing I would have been able to talk about, so it would have been pretty pointless. However throughout August I have been flooded with empty products, so much so that my purple Liberty bag is overflowing with empty products! So finally I bring to you an empties post, I hope it was worth the wait! :’)

DSC_0012

  • Dettol Camomile Comforting Hand Wash with E45.

Like all the other Dettol hand washes I have mentioned before on my blog, I really did enjoy this one. This was a bargain at a £1 and I thought I’d give it a go, as it sounded just as good as the honey one that I use so much. It was lovely to use and I was sad when it came to the end of the bottle. It reminded me of Johnson’s bedtime baby bath with the camomile scent, which lasted ages on my hands. I’d buy this again for sure!

  • Carex Complete Bubble Gum Hand Wash.

This was really fun to use and was an awesome bright blue colour, just like bubblegum! Although this did smell amazing the smell did get a little boring and tacky smelling after a few weeks and I actually couldn’t wait to finish it after a while. I’m unsure if it was this or something else but after a few weeks of use my hands started to be terribly dry, and since this coming to its last use a week ago my hands now aren’t as dry. I would pick this up again, don’t get me wrong but maybe as a treat as whilst it was only a £1, it was a bit too artificial smelling for my liking. I recommend people to try this who have children mind, as it was lovely nonetheless.

  • The Body Shop Hand Cleanse Gel in Strawberry (mentioned here and here).

This is a lovely hand sanitizer and providing if I’m on a budget or not is by far one of my favourites! At work, at home and amongst friends and family I get nothing but compliments on this, how gorgeous it smells, and even people asking if they can nab a blob off me. These don’t break the bank to buy and last ages in my opinion! I like to keep them in my handbag for at work and on the go, as you never know when you may need some.

  • The Body Shop Early-Harvest Raspberry Shower Gel (mentioned here).

I was extremely sad to see the end of this (especially considering that I’m saving money and can’t buy anymore yet) because of the fact that it just smells amazing, plus I think it’s limited edition (I hope not!). I bought this for mine and my boyfriends long weekend in Bristol and it really does remind me of there whenever I smell it. This smells of delicious, ripe raspberries, perfect for summer! This foamed up lovely, left my skin feeling soft and gorgeous as well as smelling amazing too! I will buy this again in the future, as well as for my boyfriend who probably loved it more than I did!

DSC_0014

  • Gillette Satin Care Shave Gel.

I’ve mentioned this product before, if you would like to read more about it look here.

  • Colgate Plax Mouthwash in Soft Mint.

Like all mouthwashes, this did a good job and one I expected it to. Since this has run out I haven’t re-purchased this one, nor have I purchased any in particular. This was nice to use and made my mouth feel nice and fresh whenever I used it.

  • T-Zone Clear Pore Anti-Bacterial Cleanser.

I love this cleanser so much that I re-purchased it well before it ran out and that is what I am currently using. This cleanser doesn’t cost much, less than £2.00 infact and is available from both Home Bargains and Body Care if you would like to pick it up. This smells gorgeous, just like tea tree and really does feel like it works when applied to the skin. I use this everyday and I can safely say that I have fallen in love with it. I used to use the T-Zone range as a teenager and I can say that it still works the same now as it used to back in the day! Try out their products if you fancy trying something new and affordable.

  • Hidden Passion EDP.

This was a find in a pound shop, for obviously a £1. I bought it after one of my closest friends picked it up too as it reminded me of one of my more expensive perfumes. I ended up using this for work and I couldn’t wait to see the back of it! Yes it’s cheap and cheerful but also really crap! I don’t recommend this unless you want something to spritz after the gym, work, for your car, etc.

  • Oral-B 3D White in Brilliance.

I LOVE this toothpaste and I can’t believe this is the first time that I’m mentioning this product on my blog! Since this came out it’s all I use and I think this toothpaste has been out for 2-3 years now, which is a very long time! This toothpaste isn’t cheap but I recently discovered that you can pick this up really cheap in Home Bargains, which I’m really pleased about. I recommend this toothpaste if you want to have clean and pearly white teeth!

So those were my empties for August! Whether or not I have any products to talk about this time next month or not, I’m unsure, we shall wait and see!

What products did you use up throughout August? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time, take care all and I hope September is going well for you all so far.

June Empties

DSC_0007

I want to get this out there that I thought there would only be three empty products to talk about today, but low and behold when I peered into my purple Liberty bag to take pictures for this post, I came to see that there was actually seven empty products! Talk about using things up!

DSC_0008

There are a few products I have mentioned before in previous empties posts that I don’t wish to go into detail about, so I’ll just link you to the previous posts.

DSC_0009

  • Gillette Satin Care Shave Gel.

I’ve mentioned this product before, if you would like to read more about it look here.

  • Dettol Revitalise Hand Wash.

I mentioned in my May favourites last month about this hand wash and boy did I enjoy using it! I haven’t yet re-purchased another  but that’s just because I’ve been busy and haven’t ventured to a BM Bargains yet! Either way for 99p I know I’ll be buying another one soon enough! I worried this would dry my hands out but it didn’t at all, so if you’re like me and worry that this may dry out your skin, then don’t! The Dettol hand washes are amazing and to be honest I don’t worry about having any germs on my hands are using this.

  • The Body Shop Seaweed Pore-Cleansing Facial Exfoliator.

I LOVE this exfoliator and when the bottle would no longer produce anymore of the scrub from its tube I was rather sad as I really do enjoy using this scrub. It would leave my face feeling squeaky clean, as well as smooth and fresh. I used to use it twice a week, mid-week and at the end of the week. I bought this back in November last year and it really has lasted me a long time, which I’m happy with! It’s a scrub that when in contact with water foams up, which I like as it makes a change to a scrub that just stays like a grit on the skin, with a bit of oil inside of it too. Due to this scrub foaming up, it feels like it actually cleans the skin, as well as exfoliating it. This was a top 10 favourite of mine for 2013, and you can read all about it here, as well as here from when I purchased it.

  • I Love… Cosmetics Banana Split Bubble Bath & Shower Creme.

I haven’t enjoyed using a shower creme so much for quite a while and when I finished this off on Monday morning, I was rather sad once again as I love this shower creme and as soon as I can, I’m buying more! I picked this up for a £1 in Primark before going to Bristol as I was intending to have it for my long weekend, but I decided against it and ended up buying something else instead (The Body Shop’s Raspberry shower gel). This smells exactly like the foam banana sweets you would buy from the pick and mix as a kid, those alongside pink foam shrimps and white mice were my favourites. I really do like the I Love… Cosmetics products, especially the shower cremes as they smell so damn good and leave your skin feeling soft and smelling good.

DSC_0010

  • T-Zone Spot Zapping Gel.

This is the first time this has appeared on one of my empties posts, however I have already got through three, maybe even four of these prior to this one but I’ve always ended up throwing them away instead of mentioning them in a post on my blog. However it has been mentioned on a favourites post from back in February, which you can read about here. This spot zapping gel is amazing and really does help to calm my spots redness down, as well as prevent them if I’m breaking out really badly when that time of the month arrives. These cost less than a £1 each in Home Bargains and really are worth every penny! I stock up on these when I go in there as I just get through these really quickly.

  • Soap & Glory Puffy Eye Attack Turbo-Boost Hydra Gel.

I have one thing to say about this eye gel, a waste of money. It isn’t a bad product to use on the eyes, but its claims of stopping your eyes being puffy is a load of rubbish. It helped my eyes feel cool in the mornings one day and then it would irritate them another so I’m actually glad to see this product finished and in the bin. I wouldn’t buy it again because it was a waste of money at nearly £10 for this tiny little jar, but if I was given it for free I would gladly use it! I’ve replaced it with an old favourite, which I’m already enjoying using. I wrote about this back in October last year in a favourites post, which you can read here and a haul post here.

  • Bumble and Bumble Surf Foam Wash Shampoo.

This was a sample given to me over the weekend when I went shopping with my friend Poppy in Milton Keynes. I’d been dying to try out this shampoo for ages but felt a tad apprehensive for reasons such as “will it dry my hair out?” or “will it make it frizzy?” as my hair can go really frizzy and hard to handle if I use a shampoo on it that it doesn’t like. However when I tried this sample out on Sunday I was pleasantly surprised! My hair felt and looked really thick and voluminous and as well as that it looked really clean. I’m really happy with how it made my hair look and feel… However it did make my hair harder to brush which was annoying… But either way I love this shampoo and in the future I will be buying the full size bottle!

So those were my empties for June! I wonder if I’ll have as many empty products after July… We shall see!

I hope everyone’s weeks are going well, weekend will be upon us soon!

Until next time, take care all.

February Favourites 2014

DSC_0004

First of all I want to apologise for the fact that this post is 3 days late! I always try and post my favourites posts on the 1st of each month but alas I was super busy the weekend just gone and only yesterday I got to write-up this post and schedule it for today.

I’m sure next month my favourites posts will be back on schedule and live on my blog for the 1st!

Anyhoo… I really can’t believe it’s March already! 2014 isn’t just going by quickly but it’s also seeming to have its ups and downs too.

My spending ban took a turn for the worst towards the end of February and I ended up spending more money than I was meant to… Oh dear… BUT I’m going to be good for the rest of my spending ban now, which comes to an end in May! Thanks to my spending ban I have saved quite a bit of money and I’m really pleased with myself.

So this post has waited long enough to be written, let’s get it done! I apologise now for one of the images, my camera died just after I snapped the picture and sadly one of the items on it is blurred. 😦

DSC_0005

  • Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire EDP (mentioned here).

Back at the start of November 2013 my Mom bought me this after she came back home from her holiday away and it was a lovely present! I had asked her to pick this up for me, but I was going to give her the money for it, which she wouldn’t let me give her! I absolutely adore the La Petite Robe Noire perfumes, including the EDT and the newest edition La Petite Robe Noire Couture, which smells beautiful! This perfume is definitely one for colder months in my opinion as it contains warming scents such as black cherry, black rose, liquorice, etc. I wore it a lot for work as well as on my days off during February as I was in the mood for a sweet and warming scent. This one is rather strong is you spray a lot of it and I find that a couple of sprays on my neck does the job if I don’t mind anything strong, or I’ll spray on the backs of my knees and my wrists if I don’t want it to be too strong. It’s a gorgeous perfume and I know in the future I’m going to get the EDT version of this too, which I nearly bought last Wednesday as it was only £27.00 for a 30ml bottle!

  • Elemis Collagen Cleansing Balm.

This was something my Mom gave to me after purchasing a huge Elemis gift set and not wanting another cleanser, offered this to me to try. At first I was rather skeptical about it as it’s rather greasy, but once you get it wet it turns into a moisturising cream. I was worried for a couple of days after starting to use this that it wouldn’t work with my skin and if anything would break me out or cause rashes due to my sensitive skin. When it comes to skin care, Elemis products don’t work with my skin and cause allergic reactions but this one has been amazing and I love it a lot! This product is for all skin types and the balm is said to help remove make-up, as well as dirt and grime that could/will have been picked up throughout the day. It absorbs excess oils on the skin and remove impurities without leaving your skin feeling dry and stripped of any nourishment. It leaves the skin on my face feeling lovely and soft and it makes a nice change to what my cleansers usually do to my skin! A little of this goes a long way too, which is great!

  • bareMinerals Perfect Light Mineral Veil & Flawless Application Face Brush.

I’d said for ages how I wanted to get some sort of face powder that could prevent any oily patches on my nose and forehead, as whilst at work whenever I looked in the mirror in the toilets it would bother me to the point where I felt I looked greasy and dirty. My Mom knew of my paranoia and that I wanted a powder and recommended that she had seen this one on QVC so bless her she ordered herself the huge set that this came in and gave me this. I didn’t think I would like it at first as I worried it would give a tone to my skin, which I didn’t want and as this is a light powder not a translucent powder, it worried me even more! However when this was applied to my face it didn’t leave any sort of shade or colouring at all! Since then I’ve been using this and it’s a lovely product! The only flaw I have with it is that it really does show off the dry patches on my chin and the skin by the sides of my mouth, which annoys me as then I need to apply aqueous cream afterwards. Like I said though, this doesn’t happen all the time and I know it’s just the rash/dry skin I have on my face affecting the Mineral Veil. The little Brush that this came with is super soft and picks up plenty of the Mineral Veil as well as feeling soft and applying the product well and evenly all over my face. It’s such a cute brush and I love it!

  • The Body Shop Strawberry Shower Gel (mentioned here).

I’ve expressed before on my blog about how much I LOVE this shower gel! When I was little my Mom would buy me a bottle of this once a month for me to use before school and due to that it left behind some fond memories. Whenever I smell this shower gel now it just reminds me of when I was little and because of that it’ll always be a smell I’ll love. I’m currently (as you can see!) getting through this bottle, but I have a huge bottle to start using soon! I really like using this shower gel alongside my Soap & Glory Butter Yourself Ultra Nourishing Fruity Liquid Moisture Lotion as they’re both fruity and sweet, I really can’t wait for the summer to use these two hand in hand! A little of this shower gel does go a long way and with a couple of squibs on a sponge you can get a lovely lather which will leave you smelling beautiful, as well as having soft skin. My boyfriend has grown to be a huge fan of this shower gel and whenever he comes over to mine he uses this in the shower. I bought him a little sample size of this as well as the hand sanitizer in Strawberry too, which smells exactly the same as the shower gel! I love The Body Shop’s shower gels but this one will always be my favourite.

  • MAC Lipstick in Lady Bug.

My friend Mali over at maliberrymakeup recently (and still is) had a blog sale and as usual I had a look at what bargains I could snap up and when I noticed she had a MAC lipstick up there I got rather excited for it, but within a few hours it was down as “on hold” and I forgot about it. Days later it was still the same so I asked if it was available to buy, which it was! So I snapped it up and days later it was at mine and I wore it out for the afternoon. I prefer to wear this with a lip liner as not only does it show off the colour better, but it helps it last all day! I’ve been wearing this loads for work as it just looks gorgeous and it feels lovely too, plus the fact it lasts ages means I don’t need to keep topping it up on busy days. I’ll be writing a huge review for this really soon, I’m rather excited about it as I love this lipstick so much, it’s fast turned into one of my favourite MAC lipsticks.

  • Barry M Lip Liner in Shade 3.

I bought this lip liner months ago to accompany my MUA liquid lipstick but this has pretty much began to be used with anything and everything red that I own! I’d never wear this alone, but I recently discovered that with a red lip gloss over the top this works wonders and lasts ages! I use this with Lady Bug the most, alongside Lush’s Santa Baby. I like to use a lip balm first, rub away any excess and then apply the lip liner. I do this because it gives a creamier application for the lip liner, instead of it dragging along the lips, which I hate! I’m thinking of reviewing this in the near future as I just love it so much and I really can see me picking up more of Barry M’s lip liners as they’re gorgeous and for £2.99 each, worth every penny!

  • Collection 2000 (or Collection as they’re now called) Lock N Hold Lip Gloss in Break Dance.

As I wear a lot of lipsticks for work, sometimes I like to just give my lips a lot, especially if they’re a little dry so I usually opt for a lip gloss to give me a pop of colour and this is the one I reached for the most. I love this lip gloss and I’d love to try more of the Lock N Hold glosses as they have some nice pale shades, perfect for spring and summer! Break Dance is a peach colour and it smells of yummy sweets, which is a bonus! This lip gloss is said to last 6 hours, but this is total rubbish and doesn’t even last an hour on the lips, whether you’re drinking or eating, or anything like that. This isn’t a sticky lip gloss either, which makes is even better for wearing whilst I’m busy at work. The wand is a strange shape and not like the usual doe foot applicator, which makes a lovely change. These are only £2.99 each and well worth the money! I bought mine yonks ago and at one point used it every day and whenever I went out in the summer time, so it lasts ages as you don’t need a whole lot.

DSC_0006

  • Chapstick in Apple (mentioned here).

I thought I had mentioned this more than once, but alas I have not and for that I’m really surprised! I LOVE this lip balm! It’s like a petroleum texture that not only smells but tastes of green apples, which I love. It doesn’t take long to apply to the lips and is therefore perfect for on the go. I use this loads at work and soon enough I’m probably going to need to pick up another one as I just can’t NOT have this lip balm in my bag or even by my bed on my bedside table. It works great underneath and on top of lipsticks too, which is always a bonus. Whenever I apply this someone will usually ask me, “What’s that smell? Did you spray something?” because the smell of this is just so strong. It won’t break the bank to buy and probably costs a £1.00, if not less than this.

  • T-Zone Rapid Action Spot Zapping Gel.

This is one of T-Zone’s newest products and has replaced their Spot Zapping Stick. When I couldn’t find that in store I picked the gel up instead and I LOVE it! It cost me 99p and so far is lasting me a long time. As soon as I feel a spot coming up or if one of recovering from being popped I put some of this on and within a day the spot redness has reduced or even dried up and near enough vanished. I’ve already picked up another tube as I was worrying that my current tube (one in the picture) was close to running out, but it turns out I was wrong and it seems like there is loads left! I have contemplated trying out more of the T-Zone range, as for years I have loved their products and they’ve always done me good. Any recommendations would be lovely by the way.

  • L’Occitane Cherry Blossom Hand Cream (mentioned here).

In January I received some free sample hand creams from L’Occitane, like many L’Occitane fans did! In the little knitted pouch I was given I received their Cherry Blossom hand cream and I used it quite frequently throughout February. It smells subtly sweet and isn’t super thick, but a nice gel like cream that doesn’t leave my hands feeling greasy. It leaves them feeling and looking really soft, as well as smelling fresh and beautiful which is always a bonus. I have smelt L’Occitane’s Cherry Blossom range before, including their EDT and it’s one of my favourite ranges by them, alongside the Almond one. I would definitely pick up the travel size, maybe even the full size version of this as it’s just lovely! I love the cute little sizes of this as it means I can chuck it into my hand bag and it won’t take up much room, as well as this I can keep it in my pocket of my jacket or even my jeans.

So those were my favourites from February! I apologise once again for how long it took for me to write and publish this on my blog, but finally it’s here and my empties post will follow tomorrow… I hope!

What were your favourites in February? Let me know in the comments below and as usual if you have any questions in relation to any of the products mentioned, feel free to leave any questions in the comments about those too.

Until next time all take care and see you next time.

January Empties

DSC_0007

Another month, another bag of empty products to show off to you and I have to add, this months empties and the first empties of 2014 are boring! So this post isn’t going to be very long at all… Sadly.

I’m sure they’ll be more interesting as the months fly by, but for January, it’s boring. Sorry in advance!

  • Dettol Honey Nourishing Hand Wash with E45.

These will be featuring a lot in my empties videos in future and there should be another one of these in the photo, but I only used up another bottle after the 1st February. I love this hand wash, so much so I spend nearly £5.00 a month just to use it, but I’ve started to buy it in bulk just so I have one spare in the cupboard incase. As I’ve mentioned on previous favourites and empties posts, this is the only hand wash that leaves my hands lovely and soft, as well as smelling great and being clean! I recommend this hand wash to everyone and they come in various different ones, not just honey! Due to this keep being in my empties posts, I don’t think I will mention this again in future, although I will show it in my pictures. What’s the point in keep mentioning this! xD

  • Asda Essentials Sensitive Shave Gel for men.

Yes this is for men! But I couldn’t afford the Gillette shave gel at the time and whilst I was buying some food I picked this up for less than £2.00. It was horrible and quite frankly I’m glad it’s finished! It caused me to have rashes on my legs and under my arms which wasn’t any nice and I ended up giving my boyfriend the last of this to use up to shave his ginger stubble off with. I’m glad to see the back of this and won’t be buying it again, unless my boyfriend is in need of a cheap shave gel!

  • T-Zone Spot Zapping Stick.

I actually wrote a negative review on these a couple of years ago now as for a while I was getting terrible spots after using this, but I think that was down to a face wash, or product I was using at the time. However since then I have been using this again and not had any problems! The only problem I have now is that I don’t think you can buy this anymore and instead I’ve bought a gel version of this. This is a liquid which is a roller ball and you roll it onto the skin however you do so wish. This won’t break the bank to buy and I think depending where you buy it it’ll be £1.00-£2.00. You can pick these up pretty cheap in Home Bargains and Body Care. These are great for on the go as all you have to do is roll the product on where you want it to go and voila, you’re done! This is a great product and I feel rather bad writing a negative review but I guess things change.

  • Nivea In-Shower Body Moisturiser Skin Conditioner in Dry Skin.

I have two of these here that are both samples I received back before Christmas and I thought I would start to use them up. I have owned the full size version of this product in the past and at first I loved it, but after I while I grew to think it was just easier, as well as nicer to just stop being lazy and apply a body lotion after having a bath or shower. I think this stuff smells vile and since being reminded about that, I’ve realised that I don’t like this product at all and will probably give away the rest of the samples I have to friends, family, etc. I prefer to use a dry skin lotion that I used to use to wash my hands with, it does just as good a job and doesn’t have a horrible smell to it.

  • Montagne Jeunesse Dead Sea Face Spa Fabric Face Mask.

I love this mask and I will keep saying it every time it pops up in my empties! This is one of the quicker and easier face masks to use out of all the Montagne Jeunesse masks. You pop this on your face and sit back with a good book for 5-10 minutes, or like me until I reach a new chapter! This masks contains dead sea salt and seaweed which is great for combination skin like mine and also leaves your skin feeling clean, soft and refreshed! I love this mask and will keep buying it as long as it’s available to buy in shops.

  • Montagne Jeunesse Strawberry & Cream Face Mask.

I HATED this mask! It caused me to break out and have terrible rashes all over my face and I just wish I hadn’t used this. The smell of this was beautiful though and the only positive side of this mask… Alongside the fact that it didn’t break the bank to buy this. It didn’t do anything good for my skin and quite frankly it wasn’t worth the money at all. BLAH what a load of bloody rubbish!

  • Montagne Jeunesse Chocolate Mask Face Mask.

However I do LOVE this mask and it’s one of the few I can use and my skin will be beautiful after use. It leaves my skin feeling and looking lovely and soft, as well as fresh and gorgeous looking. It also smells amazing, just like hot chocolate! It contains chocolate and shea butter so this does nothing but positives to my skin, as it just adores shea butter. I always say nothing but good things about this mask and I think in future I will just be picking this one up, alongside the sheet masks as these seem to be the only masks that don’t break me out or cause rashes.

So those were my empties from January! I told you it wouldn’t be anything special, didn’t I? Sorry about that!

What were your empty products this month? Do you like or hate any of the ones I mentioned above? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time, take care all!
