New Years Tag

Okay guys don’t be too shocked, but it looks like I’m posting twice in one week! :O I know, I can’t believe it either. πŸ˜› As regular readers will know, I stated at the start of 2020 and the end of 2020 that I would only post one post a week moving forward and only post more for special occasions. This is one of those special occasions.

I was recently tagged by one of my best friends (yes Sarah, you’re classed as one of my besties now!) to take part in the New Years Tag and I didn’t want to miss out on taking part, nor did I want to push back any review posts, so I thought I would do two posts in one week! πŸ˜›

Sarah over at Raiin Monkey has actually created this tag, as well as tagging me to take part. She created it as she isn’t a huge fan of resolution posts and I can’t say as I blame her. I used to write them all the time years before, but for the past couple of years, I’ve not bothered. This is a great tag to kick start the New Year, whether it be to share your New Year related answers, or to even introduce new readers to your blog!

Either way, I’m so excited to take part and again, thank you so much Sarah for tagging me! Make sure to go and check out the original tag post AND go and read Sarah’s answers! πŸ˜€

It’s chilly this evening so go and grab yourself a hot drink, or even run a hot bath and read this as you have a soak! πŸ™‚

Tags always include rules, right? So, here’s mine:

1. Copy the questions to your blog.

2. Link back to my original post, and also thank the person who tagged you (linking theirs, too).

3. Answer the questions.

4. Add your own question (if you want to).

5. Tag 4-6 friends to answer it.

6. Give yourself a pat on the back. You blogged!! You’re awesome!

The Questions:

1. Let’s start by looking back at 2020. What were three good things that happened to you?

I went to Japan for two weeks in January, literally less than a week after my 30th. It was amazing and the memories both me and Dane made there were something I held to dearly throughout 2020. I’m taking part in Japanuary over on Instagram (theremightbecoffeeblog) for the whole of January and being able to talk and share my trip to Japan last year is really helping. I miss Japan so much right now and I’m already contemplating going in 2022…

This is kind of a bad thing that became a good thing, but we had some water damage in our bathroom that affected the kitchen ceiling. We were able to claim this damage on insurance BUT we decided enough was enough and jumped at the chance to get our bathroom redone… It’s been almost six months now since we had it done and it’s changed our lives. It’s gorgeous and we’re so happy with it.

I can’t actually think of a third one… It’s really hard! I guess one thing lockdown helped me with a little is to “live a little” and do things that I’d wanted to for a while. Whether that be take up a new hobby (resin making), or buy something I knew I’d wanted for ages. I started buying clothes from Black Milk Clothing again and this time they were brand new, not second hand or brand new with tags on eBay. I also started to buy things that had sat in wish list for years as I wasn’t spending my money during lockdown on petrol, nor when I’d be out and about with friends shopping, eating out, etc.

2. What was a positive to come out of spending all that time at home?

Both me and Dane were able to start making a list of things we needed to do at home and things we have meaning to do since we bought our house almost five years ago. We had a week off at the start of December and got loads of those things done! Alongside that we also started a new hobby together, which is resin making. Dane focuses more on making polyhedral dice and I focus more in keyrings and items like that. It’s lovely having that hobby to do together, especially if we’re feeling creative.

I’ve also been working at home since March 2020 and whilst I do miss my colleagues and the office, I do enjoy drinking decent coffee, and generally my own home comforts. Plus I don’t have to worry about missing parcels. πŸ˜›

3. Did you start any new hobbies in 2020? Discover any new interests?

I mentioned before that I started resin making. I’d watched people play and make resin pieces on Instagram for years and had always wanted to give it a go myself. Around the start of lockdown me and Dane decided to give it a go ourselves. We bought some silicone, resin, mica powder and more things to make our own polyhedral dice molds and then dice. The molds didn’t go great but since then we have experimented more with resin and bought molds from people. I’ve grown an interest in having a go at making amigurumi (Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small, stuffed yarn creatures) but I need to do my research first… I’d also love to FINALLY do Twitch streams! I’d look to Twitching some older games, as well as indie games. I’ve got some ideas in mind and plan to have a play around and test the waters to see what can be done. Watch this space!

4. What was your best watch and/or read of 2020?

I’m not going to lie, I read fuck all in 2020… I’m quite ashamed of it to be perfectly honest.

I did watch some amazing shows and films however, so I’m just going to pop a list below:

TV Shows:

Don’t F**k With Cats: Hunting an Internet Killer

Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness

I May Destroy You

Pose

The Mandalorian

The Haunting of Bly Manor

I May Destroy You

Movies:

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

1917

Parasite

A Whisker Away

Soul

5. Name five things or people that helped get you through the gloomy times?

Animal Crossing: New Horizons –Β This game came out just as lockdown happened in the UK in March 2020 and whilst I was working from home, playing Animal Crossing everyday really did help to take my mind away from what was happening in the world. I don’t pick it up everyday like I used to anymore, but I still love playing it. It’s good to just zone out to when you have things on your mind, or if you’re feeling lonely and want company.

Retail therapy – I hate putting this, but honestly a bit of retail therapy every now and then has really helped. When I’ve been bored and not known what to do with myself, I have gone onto Etsy or my wish list for a bit of online window shopping. Sometimes if the mood has taken me I’ve bought something. I don’t think I’m the only person who has done this either to be honest with you. I did go on a spending ban around August 2020 as I’d been spending a lot and I needed to be good. I’m actually planning to go on a spending ban in February as I want to try and save some monies up. I’d like to start saving to do some more stuff to the house, as well as another trip to Japan in the (hopefully) near future.

My friends – My friends (online included!) have all been amazing. Whenever I feel rubbish they’re always on a DM to me cheering me up, or supporting me when I really need someone to vent or talk to. I cannot thank them enough. I’m not going to name people here, but you all know who you are. πŸ™‚

My parents – I’m not going to say much here, but they’ve been there to listen to me bitching on FaceTime and for company when I’ve been really lonely during the day. I may live with my boyfriend, but working from home, some days are quiet and I get incredibly lonely. So I’ll call my mom or dad for a bit for a natter and then return to work.

Dane – Finally I want to mention my boyfriend. He’s been my absolute rock throughout everything, and I don’t just mean through the gloomy times of 2020. He’s the main person I see and speak to day to day and I appreciate him for putting up with me so much. πŸ˜› He’s just an amazing human being and I don’t know how I can tell him that anymore than I already do.

6. Okay, phew! We can forget last year now!! Share something you want to achieve this year.

I’d like to get a 2022 trip booked for Japan. I want to go for two weeks again and explore more of Japan. I’d also love to go around cherry blossom season.

I would also love to start selling some of my resin pieces. I’ve made so many and I look at them and hope they can find forever homes in the future.

Twitch! I really want to do it. I love playing games and I love talking, so why not mix the two? Watching PayMoneyWubby has really inspired me to give it a go. Even if I’m not playing games, I’d love to do some general chatting videos and maybe even talk and share some geeky stuff? I don’t know, as I said earlier in the tag I really need to take a good look into it all.

I want to improve my home. We NEEEEEED to do the garden up, we also need to save for an extension. If it turns out I’ll be working from home more often in the future, I’d love to get my own desk set up in our office… But I don’t know yet.

Finally… I would love to extend our family and bring a miniature schnauzer into our lives. It’s a big thing to get a dog and it isn’t something I’m taking lightly. We looked at adopting last year and to be honest as soon as we started to apply I got anxious and not in a good way. I’m glad we didn’t get a dog as I don’t think it was the right time. I’m hoping this year will be right, but who knows. πŸ™‚ I do want a dog… But only when I feel ready…

7. Tell us three things you’re looking forward to.

I’m hoping things start to go back to normal by autumn this year.

I’m looking forward to seeing my family and friends again as I really do miss them. I especially miss being able to give my parents hugs and going on shopping dates with my friends I miss going for sushi and not knowing what I felt worse about, the expensive bill after eating at YO! Sushi or by how much food I’ve eaten. I don’t miss going out for food by all means but I miss being able to if I wanted, you know? I’m the same for if I wanted to spontaneously go shopping for stuff for the house, a day trip and more. So I’m excited to get able to do this again… Hopefully. πŸ˜›

I’m actually really excited to seeing My Chemical Romance in June! I remember the hell I had trying to book tickets whilst in Japan and then a week after I got back I was able to get both me and Dane a ticket. Dane isn’t a fan of the band, but he’s coming with me because he’s a good egg like that. πŸ˜› I’m getting my nails done black with glitter, very much how I used to in my emo days back in 2007 that morning and I’m going to try and dress up. Can you tell just how excited I am? πŸ˜€

I know it sounds sad but I’m actually looking forward to getting my garden fence done. It’s been something we’ve been meaning to do for a while now, but with Japan, our bathroom issues and more… Meh. It’s been pushed back. I think we’re going to wait for the weather to brighten up a little and then we’ll buy the goods, book some time off work and get it done! πŸ˜€ I want to try and do my garden up a little and make it a nice place to sit in in the summer.

8. Other than our current global situation, what’s one thing in your life that you’d like to change in 2021?

One thing I’d like to change? Erm… I don’t know really. I’ve felt so creative in 2020 and so far in 2021 but I’ve also felt low because I can’t put that creative energy into anything. I have my blog and that’s great, but sometimes it doesn’t feel… Enough. I think that’s why I love my resin so much, but resin is something that we can only do late at night and over the weekend. I’d love to take up a new hobby this year, aka amigurumi to try and do something creative there. In 2020 I started to use my Instagram stories more to talk and share things and I loved it and I think that’s where my creative juices flow. I love sharing stories, items and talking about anything. I’m a talker. If there was an Olympic sport for talking, I’d be looking to win a gold medal! Hence why I would genuinely love to try Twitch. I’d love to look back on 2021 in a years time and see me achieve something new as quite frankly the only thing I achieved in 2020 was going to Japan. I want to try and do something in 2021 that makes me proud. πŸ™‚

I tag:

Everyone who reads this post to give it a go! I would tag people, but my brain is empty for who to tag. πŸ˜›

I know this post is quite late up tonight, but I hope you guys enjoyed it! I really enjoyed writing it and filling in the answers to Sarah’s questions! πŸ˜€

Do you think you’ll give it a go? What do you think of 2020 and what are your hopes for 2021? Make sure to let me know in the comments below.

Until next time all, take care and keep safe. ❀

The Estelleosaurus Animal Crossing Island Getaway Tag

Can you believe in almost a week that Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been out for two months? Nope… Neither can I! The time has really flown by and honestly, I am living my best island life!

I don’t care if I talk about Animal Crossing too much on my blog, I love it so damn much and I’ll shout about if I want to! I love reading bloggers Animal Crossing posts too, I honestly cant get enough of it.

During the lock down I’ve not been too great on and off mentally. I’m feeling low, tired and lethargic and the only thing that is keeping me going at the moment (aside from Dane and my friends) is Animal Crossing. It came out at the perfect time considering lock down happened 3 days after the game released.

So, I will continue to talk about Animal Crossing as much as I want to, because this game is literally a huge part of my life right now.

Recently Estelle over at Estellosaurus created an Animal Crossing tag and I KNEW I had to take part! So, let’s get started!

Welcome to the Estellosaurus Animal Crossing Island Getaway Tag!

The rules are:

  1. Copy and paste the rules and sentence above. Answer the questions. Duh.
  2. Thank the person who tagged you, don’t forget to link to their original post/answers
  3. Tag 2 new people to take part.
  4. Share your Switch Friend Code at the end if you want too!

1. What is your island called? Why did you pick that name?

My island is called Kitsakura and the name is a mixture of kitsune and sakura. I tried loads of names I wanted to have for my island, but they were all too long, so I merged some of my ideas together. I really love the name, it feels unique.

2. Share a picture of yourself on your island.

Image

3. What hemisphere did you choose? Is it the hemisphere you are actually in?

I chose the Northern Hemisphere, as this is what I am in. I know some who changed it, but honestly I don’t see the point. I want the game to adapt to what is happening realistically where I live.

4. Who is your current favourite resident? Who would be your ultimate dream resident?

This is such a hard question because I love all my residents for different reasons! I would have to say Cookie though. This is the first time I have had her on my island and she’s always a villager I have wanted in the previous games. The fact I can finally have her (thanks to amiibo) is amazing and I honestly love how sassy and kawaii she is. I love her so much, I requested for her to be drawn in a commission with me, purely because I love her vibe so much!

A close second to Cookie is Bones. I had him in one of my previous games and adored his silly, childish behaviour. He’s still as adorable as ever and he honestly brings a smile to my face whenever I see and talk to him on my island.

5. What can you not do on your island that you wish you could?

I’m really missing The Roost at the moment… In New Leaf it was one of my favourite places to go, as well as one of my favourite things to do once a day. You would have to make some villagers coffees for them and make sure to get them right. If you did good, Brewster would give you a special item. I worked as a barista at the time, so that’s why I loved it so much. Honestly though, The Roost needs to return!

6. Favourite season in game and why?

This is a hard one, especially with New Horizons, as so far we have only really seen spring. Overall… I think I have always loved spring for the cherry blossoms and winter for the snow. I especially love making snowmen and when Christmas is around, all the pine trees have pretty fairy lights on them.

7. If you played New Leaf, what do you miss from that game that you wish had been taken across to New Horizons?

The first thing that comes to mind is your villagers coming to your house to visit. You could either invite them or they would ask to come over. I really wish you could do this! I want Cookie, Bones and Goldie to come to my house and see all my cute stuff… As well as all my turnips. πŸ˜›

8. Favourite K.K. Slider song?

It’s always been K.K. Bossa since the Animal Crossing anime movie, however I’ve always fallen in love with Bubblegum K.K. after hearing it loads in Cookie’s house! It’s definitely K.K. Bossa though, it’s even my phones ringtone. The scene from the film is really cute and I recommend you to go and find it to watch if you can. YouTube has a fake English dub here… It’s not official dub but they did an amazing job (I’ve watched the Japanese one too).

9. Favourite non resident character?

Definitely Isabelle! She only came around in New Leaf, but honestly she is such a cutie and I honestly look forward to seeing her every morning when I turn my game on, even when she doesn’t have news. I love hearing about how she spent her evening and what crappy TV she’s been watching. Alongside Isabelle I love Tommy, he’s so cute and adorable with his higher pitched voice out of the two Nook brothers.

Finally, I love and miss Resetti. As much as I hated when he would have a go at me in the game if I didn’t save, I always looked forward to seeing him too as it was such a rare occurrence. I hope he comes back in the future… I really do. I know people have said they can hear him when you go to use the terraforming tool… But it isn’t the same. 😦

So, that was The Estelleosaurus Animal Crossing Island Getaway Tag! I love Animal Crossing so much, as well as Estelle, so I knew I had to take part in this tag.

Now for tagging who I want to join in… EVERYONE! If you read this post and would like to join in, please do!

Are you playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons? Are you still loving it and playing it everyday? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below all your thoughts and feelings on the game.

Until next time all, take care and stay safe.

Horror Movie Tag

Halloween Popcorn GIF by alexa kerr

Halloween is literally under a week away now and whilst I’m excited for it, I’m also not all that arsed… Why I hear you ask? I’m just not arsed anymore… The last time I went out for Halloween was back in 2015 and it was so much fun, but shit at the same time. Me and Dane dressed as South Park’s Mysterion and The Coon and we had such a laugh! Loads of people recognised who we were (some too bloody much!) but the whole night we couldn’t get a drink and we constantly had the same guy shouting out character names out. After the 10th time, we knew it was time to go home.

So since then, we’ve stayed in and greeted trick-or-treaters. We don’t even watch a horror movie it anything. This year however we’re staying in and playingΒ Luigi’s Mansion 3,Β which we’re looking forward to! May also watch some scary films too… Just to shake it up a bit!

Last week the gorgeous Sarah over at Raiin Monkey tagged me to take part in the Horror Movie Tag that she had taken part in. I know she’s been loving Halloween this month and as I got myself into the spooky spirit a few weeks back at the Bubble Boba Halloween event (which you can read here), I thought this tag would be a bit of fun to take part in! I don’t recall doing anything like this before and I do miss taking part in tag posts on my blog.

1. What is the first horror movie you remember watching?

Alien and I fucking hated it and still hate* it! I was only 6 when I first watched it and the only scene I saw was the chest burst one. It frightened me so much that I didn’t sleep for about a week. Since then I can’t watch that film (or any of the other Alien films for that matter) because they just make me anxious and sleep doesn’t happen.

*I don’t HATE the film… But it freaks me out! πŸ˜›

2. What is your favourite horror movie?

Shaun of the Dead. Now I know this is a comedy style horror, but it’s still up there as a horror movie for me and as it’s one of my favourite films, it’s definitely up there as my favourite. Alongside that however I also loveΒ 28 Days Later,Β Hostel II (I love the first one but I prefer the second one more), the Saw series (Saw II is my favourite!), Rosemary’s Baby, A Quiet Place, Carrie, Planet Terror and many more. Those are just a small few.

3. What’s your favourite horror movie genre?

Does thriller count? Alongside slasher and zombie. I’m not aΒ massiveΒ zombie movie fan, but I have named a couple on here so… πŸ˜›

4. What genre scares you the most?

Probably sci-fi to be honest with you. As I mentioned, I hateΒ AlienΒ due to how much it freaks me out… But alongside that some other alien style films creep me out too. I guess it depends, but other than that nothing really scares me, you know? Might make me overthink and be anxious after… Which theΒ AlienΒ movies are good at! πŸ˜›

5. What is the last horror movie you watched that actually scared you?

I haven’t in all fairness… AgainΒ Alien creeps me out so if I re-watch any of those I do usually feel a bit… Unsettled when trying to sleep. The last time I watched an AlienΒ movie was when I lived at home and that was over 3 years ago now!

Shaun Of The Dead Zombie GIF

6. Who is your ultimate Scream Queen?

Nah not really… If anything I usually react by saying, “Whoa what the fuck is going on?” I never scream at horror movies. I might jump at times, yes, but never scream.

7. What’s a concept that you’d like to see in horror?

I don’t know in all fairness… This is a tough question! Something unique to be honest with you. I feel like we rarely get this now! I did loveΒ A Quiet PlaceΒ as I found this was done so well! I couldn’t say what concept I would like… I do love my horror comedy films like Shaun of the Dead and Doghouse.

8. What is your favourite on-screen kill?

Definitely the scene in Hostel II where Beth cuts off Stuarts genitals and lets him bleed to death. He’s such a prick at the end of the day and was going to rape and kill Beth! He deserved to die, he was such a fool. πŸ˜› I’m sure there are better on-screen kills but this is the first one that popped into my head.

9. What’s your favourite franchise?

I don’t think I have one when it comes down to horror to be perfectly honest with you… I’m not really all that arsed about horror when it comes down to it… If anything probably Saw because it’s probably the only horror series and franchise I’ve fully kept up with. That and I do really love the story behind it. BUT although I used to be a massive horror movie fan growing up, I’m not so arsed about it now. 😦

10. Who’s your favourite horror director?

Eli Roth is one of the first people who come to mind. He’s the guy behind Hostel I and Hostel II, as well as Cabin Fever. I can’t think of anyone else in all honesty with you. 😦 I’m so crap when it comes down to horror movies! πŸ˜›

I have to add though what an amazing job John Krasinski did with directing A Quiet Place! I honestly loved that film so much and if anything I regret not watching it in the cinema. A Quiet Place: Part II is set to come out at the start of 2020, so I am beyond excited for that! πŸ˜€

So that is the end of the Horror Movie Tag! πŸ˜€

I want to say a massive thank you to my best blogger friend Sarah for tagging me to take part in this! It really cheered me up yesterday on my lunch break at work as I wrote my answers!

I tag EVERYONE who reads this post to give this tag a go themselves! πŸ˜€ If you do take part, please tag me in your posts so I can come and read your answers myself! πŸ™‚

Until next time all, take care and I hope you’re having a lovely weekend. πŸ™‚

The Pokemon Tag

As regular readers will know, I LOVE Pokemon! I have done since I discovered the show aged 6 and then the game aged 9. I’ve just been hooked since then and really do love playing both the games still to this day, as well as collecting Pokemon items from the Pokemon Centre in Japan.

I wasn’t at all surprised when I read that Sarah over at Raiin Monkey had taken part in this tag, as I know she loves Pokemon just as much as I do! πŸ˜€ She mentioned at the end of the post how she’s happy for anyone to take part in this tag, so whilst I’m poorly in bed I’m giving it a go myself! πŸ˜€

I really hope you enjoy my answers to this tag post, I know I’m excited to give it a go.

1. Favourite Pokemon?Β Definitely Mew, Dragonite and all the Eeveelutions! πŸ˜€ I love Cubone and Ampharos too.

2. Least favourite Pokemon?Β I can’t say as I have a least favourite Pokemon in all fairness… If anything maybe some of the latest generation Pokemon as they’re just lame and weird made up stuff to get the numbers up.

3. Favourite starter Pokemon?Β Cyndaquil! I love that Pokemon so much.

4. Favourite Eeveelution?Β Ooo this is a tough one to be honest you!

5. Favourite legendary Pokemon?Β Definitely Mew as well as all the dog legendary Pokemon from the second generation, Raikou, Entei and Suicune.

6. Most terrifying Pokemon?Β Mmm this is a tough one as I don’t find any really terrify me as such… If anything MissingNo used to creep me out growing up! I remember catching one in Pokemon Red and it glitched my game, nearly to the point of me losing everything! That’s the most terrified a Pokemon has ever gotten me. πŸ˜›

7. Most adorable Pokemon?Β Aww this is a tough one as there’s so many! πŸ˜› The baby Pokemon evolutions are definitely adorable and I loved them all in generation 2! Of course Mew and the Eeveelutions are up there with the cute Pokemon. One of my favourites has to be Cubone though. πŸ™‚

8. Most amusing Pokemon?Β Misty’s Psyduck. πŸ˜›

9. Favourite Pokemon type?Β Dragon and fairy.

10. Least favourite Pokemon type?Β I’d definitely say bug. It’s so shite it’s a joke. πŸ˜›

11. Favourite new Pokemon from X and Y?Β Fennekin and Sylveon! πŸ˜€

12. Favourite Pokemon attack or move?Β Dragon rage is a pretty good one, alongside some of the moves Eevee can learn from it’s Eeveelutions in the new Pokemon: Let’s Go Eevee.

13. Favourite trainer type?Β Trainer type?! Erm… I don’t know really… I guess the ones that carry cute Pokemon is always good and of course the easy trainers. πŸ˜›

14. Your gym leader speciality?Β I don’t fully get this question… If you mean if I was a gym leader I think my speciality would be fire Pokemon as I seem to sway towards them quite a lot. πŸ˜› In my team I’d have Fennekin, Cyndaquil, Vulpix, Flareon, Arcanine and Rapidash.

15. Favourite region?Β Kanto and Johto. I love them both too much to pick just the one.

16. Favourite location?Β Definitely a toss up between Lavender Town from Kanto and Mt Moon from Johto when you get to watch Clefairy and Clefable dance on a Monday.

17. Most relatable Pokemon?Β I legit went to Buzzfeed and did a quiz because I honestly couldn’t come up with an answer for this! I got Mewtwo and it said, “You’re a rare one, that’s for sure. At times you may let your anger get the best of you, but we all know that you’re a sensitive and thoughtful spirit at heart. This world needs you, but just doesn’t know it yet.” Good enough. πŸ˜›

18. Favourite gym leader?Β Definitely Blue Oak/Gary Oak. I can’t really pick a favourite gym leader as I can’t say that I have one, but I love Gary’s character. He definitely needed to become a gym leader in the future.

19. Favourite elite 4 member/champion?Β I rather like Lance from gen 1 as he comes back for Silver and Gold to help you out for a “mission”.

20. Favourite Professor?Β Professor Oak for sure, the original professor! πŸ˜€

21. Favourite Pokemon bad guy?Β Team Rocket is always a good choice, but I really liked N too from the Black and White games.

22. Favourite rival?Β I’d say Gary Oak but I actually rather liked the rival from Silver, Gold and Crystal. He’s called Silver and from memory he’s actually Giovanni’s son!

23. A friend-relatable Pokemon?Β Oh God knows! Erm… Probably Snorlax. I love sleeping and if someone wakes me I get very angry. πŸ˜›

24. Most useful Pokemon?Β Every single Eeveelution to be honest with you. πŸ˜› If you needed heat – Flareon. If you needed water – Vaporeon. If you needed electricity – Jolteon. You get the point. πŸ˜›

25. Favourite animal Pokemon?Β Definitely fox/dog.

26. Favourite coloured Pokemon?Β Purple and white and pink.

27. Favourite game?Β I’d have to say Pokemon Silver. As much as I loved the original three, Silver has a soft spot in my heart. It’s the Pokemon game I’ve played the most and almost came close to finishing. The reason I didn’t was due to my game becoming corrupted. 😦 I cried for days after it happened.

28. What did you nickname your rival?Β It was usually my cousin as we used to compete against one another when we played Pokemon. She always did better than I did though. πŸ˜›

29. Favourite Pokemon tune or song?Β There’s loads from Pokemon Silver, Gold and Crystal that I love such as “Violet City” and “Azalea Town”.

30. Most nostalgic element?Β I think when the Gold and Silver remakes came out and it meant I could replay the games again and gain myself some memories back to when I was a teenager. I spent hours on end, to all hours playing the original Silver game. I think I need to now go away and play Pokemon Silver as I’m just getting too many memories. πŸ˜›

Aww I really loved taking part in this Pokemon tag and if it wasn’t for Sarah giving it a go, I don’t know how long it would have taken me to find out about it! Make sure to go and read Sarah’s post to see what her answers were.

I tag everyone who reads this post and loves Pokemon to give the tag a go yourself! πŸ˜€

Do you love Pokemon just as much as I do? Let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re ready for the weekend, I know I am! πŸ˜›

Damn I’ve not long got home from work and I AM SOAKED! I get soaked running to my car and then soaked running from my car to the front door. Urgh, why did I forget my umbrella this morning? Well, I won’t tomorrow, that’s for sure. πŸ˜›

This must be the first post of the month (apart from my monthly posts) that hasn’t been Christmassy! Shock horror. πŸ˜›

Sarah over at Raiin Monkey tagged me a few days ago to take part in the 10 basic confessions tag. Last week I had a break from blogging, even though I had loads of blog related work up and ready as I’d spent the weekend before last just power writing and getting stuff up and ready.

That break was definitely needed! This week however, I am super busy with work so blogging is something I am trying to do, but my brain isn’t quite ready for it after a long hard day. I am trying though. So of course when Sarah tagged me to do this I just JUMPED at the chance!

The older I get the more I think I’m becoming less of a basic bitch, but I don’t know… I could still be a bit of a basic bitch to be honest with you! πŸ˜›

I love how this tag is something a little different and hey, there is NOTHING wrong with being a basic bitch! πŸ˜›

Β Holo

I’ve loved holographic stuff for years, before it became a trend to be honest but this is due to my love of Japanese fashion and other things. Growing up holographic stuff just stole my heart so the fact it’s a massive trend now makes me happy and even takes me back to the 00’s when I was a teenager. I love a good holographic nail polish lately, as well as stationary.

Wearing Vans with trainer socks

I don’t know if this is a basic thing, but I feel like it’s hipster and that still counts to me! πŸ˜› Since the summer I’ve found myself wearing trainer socks with Vans and although I love it, I used to take the piss out of teenage girls and men who did it! I usually wear them with leggings as well, which I think makes me even worse. It’s just so comfortable to be honest and Primark offer a HUGE collection of different trainer socks to choose from! My favourite ones to buy and wear are always Pusheen.

Starbucks

I love coffee, I really do. I grew up with my parents drinking coffee like it’s water. I also worked in Costa for two years so I like to think I know a bit about coffee too. Whilst I do still enjoy venturing into Costa and independent coffee shops, Starbucks is always going to be the basic bitches favourite place to venture to. I do really like Starbucks myself to be honest and whenever I’m out with my best friend Gabriella we go in there for caramel macchiato’s. πŸ˜› Also it’s the only place I find that does mint hot chocolate all year around, which in turn makes me happy.

Loving the sick (and rude!) memes

I’m such a sucker for memes and the more they create, the more into them I become! I feel like Facebook is just home to memes, cute animals and food videos that encourage you to cook and gain weight. I’m a definite lover of rude memes though and one page I love for this is Lush Dolly Memes over on Instagram. I love her posts and I think I’ve pretty much liked them all since the page started. πŸ˜› Go and check it out if you’re rude and crude like I am and then come back and tell me how damn funny their posts are.

Burning candles

I don’t know what it is, but during the summer months I’m not arsed about burning candles, but throughout the cold winter months the candles are lit daily in my house! Yankee Candles are my choice nine times out of ten to be honest, with Woodwick Candles being a close second. I just love scented candles so much, they add a lovely scent to the home, especially if you have guests. I currently have Cherries On Snow by Yankee Candle burning and I do really love it.

Table books

I do rather love books you can have in your living room either on/under your coffee table or on the shelf. People’s reactions to certain books is always good, whether it’s a comical book or about something you’re interested in. When I was a student I used to love going into places like Urban Outfitters and looking at the various different books they sell in there. I have all sorts of books myself now including books about The Book of Mormon, Persona 5, Pewdiepie, Deadpool etc. Table books are great and I recommend them for everyone!

Mermaid leggings

These are definitely a basic bitch item BUT at least I buy mermaid leggings by the brand that kick started it all, Black Milk Clothing! I have almost a handful of different coloured mermaid leggings now and I love them all so damn much. Unicorns and mermaids are so basic bitch things it’s a joke! I’m not a mermaid or unicorn person really, but mermaid leggings I’m definitely a sucker for. πŸ˜›

Fairy lights

I LOVE fairy lights so much! Not long after me and Dane got together I bought some battery operated ones and wrapped them around my bed. I loved having them on late at night whilst I read books before bed. Since moving into the house we now have some colourful fairy lights (well our Christmas lights actually…) around the stairs and some fairy lights behind our sofa in the living room, which we’ve wrapped around some of the artwork we have framed and hanging up. Yeah they’re basic bitch lights, but I love them anyway! I’m actually hoping i have some more for Christmas to hang behind the bed.

Sex and The City

Apparently this is a basic bitch thing… I had to Google what classes as being basic as at this point in the tag I DO NOT HAVE A CLUE! Apparently owning the box set of Sex and The City is basic. I don’t personally think this but meh. I watch every single season and even the films of Sex and The City, in order at least ONCE A YEAR WITHOUT DELAY. Honestly, not even joking. Sometimes I just get the urge to watch it from start to finish and it makes me so happy. Now I’m talking about it, I feel like I really need to watch it again!

I genuinely don’t think I’m a basic bitch

Of course this would be something a basic bitch would say, but I genuinely don’t think I am. I just like things that this young basic bitches discovered 10-15 years later! I’m 29 soon and have been watching Sex and The City since I was 16… Sex and The City isn’t a basic bitch thing, it’s a necessity for all women out there! Mermaid leggings are just amazing and so damn comfortable. Who doesn’t love scented candles? Man I could go on. πŸ˜›

So I have come to the end of this tag post! It was something different to do, but I have realised from taking part in it that I am definitely not a basic girl. πŸ˜›

I want everyone who reads this blog post to take part in the tag and make sure to link back to me when you’ve written. I want to see what basic things you are as well. xD

Again, I want to say a MASSIVE thank you to Sarah for tagging me to take part in this post!

Until next time all, take care. IT’S ONE WEEK UNTIL CHRISTMAS! πŸ˜€

The Christmas Tag 2018

Excited The Office GIF

Image taken from GIPHY

Christmas is just 16 days away now and I’m pretty much ready for the day now. All I need to buy is FOOD and I honestly cannot wait for Christmas food. πŸ˜›

I was recently tagged by Jess over at Little Pink DuckΒ to take part in this tag, which I was really happy about! I love doing a tag every season and every awesome holiday that comes our way, especially Christmas! I don’t know if I’ve done this one, I actually don’t think I have which is amazing. If you want to check out Jess’ post and her answers, I’ll pop the link here for you. πŸ™‚

I hope you enjoy the tag anyhoo, especially my answers. It’s Saturday evening and I’m watching Peep Show’s Christmas special.

What is your favourite Christmas film?

It has to be the Home Alone films! The first Christmas film I stuck on this year was Home Alone 2. They definitely remind me of when I was little at Christmas. There’s other films I love too, but this is always the first film that pops into my head whenever I think about Christmas films. πŸ™‚

Have you ever had a White Christmas?

I feel like I have a few times to be fair. I remember it snowing when I was about 6 but it may have snowed before or after Christmas. The one year before I met Dane (probably 6-7 years ago!) I remember it snowed a little on Christmas Day, which was really nice to watch in the dining room whilst eating dinner and opening gifts.

Where do you usually spend your holiday?

I usually go to mine or Dane’s parents, but this year we’re actually going to be at home, which will be really nice. πŸ™‚ I’m rather excited to be honest with you as I love cooking, so the thought of me and Dane getting up in the morning to get Christmas lunch/dinner started together, whilst we watch a Christmas movie or listen to Christmas songs. I am really looking forward to it.

What is your favourite Christmas song?

I would usually say Wham – Last Christmas but I’ve heard it so fucking much this year that it’s definitely not anymore. I completely forgot that Queen has a Christmas song, so when Dane showed me this recently I fell in love. It hasn’t come on the radio much at work but when it has, it’s really put me in the Christmas mood.

Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?

Never! I remember I did for a time growing up, I’d always open a certain gift from a certain relative but as I got older I never received that gift anymore, so I stopped doing it. I mean, what’s the point in opening something early?! πŸ˜›

Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?

Comic, Blitzen, Dasher, Pranser, erm… Does Rudolf technically count?

*Google searches*

Dasher, Dancer,Β Prancer,Β Vixen,Β Comet,Β Cupid, Donner,Β Blitzen and Rudolf.

I didn’t do too badly, did I? πŸ˜›

What holiday traditions are you looking forward to most this year?

I’m looking forward to creating the traditions me and Dane will have for having Christmas at home! I’m really excited for what we’re going to do on the day and how we’re going to do it.

Is your Christmas tree real or fake?

Fake! I remember as a kid my mom decided to buy a real one and it was gorgeous, but it was a pain for the month she had it. The needles kept falling off etc. I don’t think I’d ever have a real one myself.

What is your all-time favourite holiday food/sweet treat?

Mmm I always love the Christmas dinner. The way my parents do gravy, to huge fluffy Yorkshire puddings. I love everything! If there is one thing I’m not arsed about over Christmas it’s all the chocolates that go around throughout the day. We never did this as a family growing up, so whenever anyone does it elsewhere I just don’t get it to be fair. πŸ˜›

Be honest: do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better?

I actually really love giving gifts. I like to think I’m quite thoughtful in the gifts I buy so when I get to see peoples reactions to what I’ve bought them, it really does make me happy. I feel rather guilty this year with Dane’s presents as I personally feel like I haven’t bought him a whole lot, even though deep down I know I have. :’)

I’m doing Secret Santa at work in a few weeks time and I really hope the person I have loves what I bought them. I can’t wait to see their face.

What is the best Christmas gift you’ve ever received?

I could never pick one gift to be honest with you. I have a little collection to be fair including, my Kitchen Aid mixer, my Dyson hairdryer, my huge Totoro plushie, my Thomas Sabo bracelet, a little fox that Dane bought me when we first went to the Birmingham German Market together.

What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?

I don’t know to be perfectly honest… The only place I can think of is Japan, but I’d love to visit there all year around to be perfectly honest with you. πŸ˜› Me and Dane could have KFC for Christmas dinner hahaha!

Merry Christmas GIF

Image taken from GIPHY

Are you a pro-present wrapper, or do you fail miserably?

I’m not a pro, but I’m not a fail anymore! I’m definitely getting better, which makes me happy as I feel so good in myself when I’ve wrapped a present really nicely. πŸ™‚ I’m rather proud of how I wrapped most of my presents this year!

Most memorable Holiday moment?

Probably the first year I spent Christmas with Dane. It was probably the first one in years where I was genuinely excited for it for all sorts of reasons.

When did you realise the truth about Santa?

I must have been 10 or 11 and someone told me, “You really think Father Christmas buys all those presents for you? It’s your mom, Nat.”

I was of course gutted, but meh I soon got over it. xD

christmas tree animation GIF

Do you make New Year’s resolutions? Do you stick to them?

I usually make at least one New Year’s resolution, this year was to save money which I’ve done really well and was quite pleased with. I’m trying to think what I can do this year and again it’ll probably be to save up money, but this time for a 30th holiday in Japan. πŸ™‚

What makes the holidays special for you?

Being with the ones I love, especially Dane and just being able to use the time of Christmas and New Year to think about the year coming to an end and what I’d like for the year ahead. Oh and having a bit of a break too, you know? πŸ˜›

So that was the Christmas tag 2018! It’s taken me most of the evening to write this post and it’s because I kept getting side tracked with watching Christmas movies. πŸ˜›

So with tagging people to take part in this post… I WANT EVERYONE WHO READS IT TO TAKE PART! πŸ˜€ It’s Christmas so the more the merrier. πŸ˜›

Are you excited for Christmas? What are you most excited about? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re having a lovely weekend.

Sunshine Blogger Award

It’s Friday and the weekend is about to start for me and I’m pretty sure that yours is starting soon too!

So what better way to kick off the weekend than to do the Sunshine Blogger Award, which the amazing Sarah from Raiin-Monkey tagged me in! Thank you so much for the tag Sarah, she’s such a beaut so make sure to go and check her out. You can read her Sunshine Blogger Award post here.

Sarah mentioned that she can’t find the original creator of this award so that she could thank them, so sadly neither can I! If you know who though, please let me know and I can add it to this post asap! The meaning behind the award is really lovely, so the fact that Sarah has tagged me to take part in it is appreciated. πŸ™‚

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you & link back to their blog.
  • Answer the 11 questions the blogger asked you.

  • And finally, make sure to list the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo on your post and/or your blog.

Sunshine Blogger Award

Here are my answers to Sarah’s questions!

1. What’s your favourite mythical creature?

Probably a dragon to be honest with you. I know I love anything unicorn and mermaid themed, but meh I don’t actually care all that much about them as mythical creatures… Although mermaids are pretty cool in all fairness. I mean, think about it. What would you do all day if you were living the life that Ariel has? I know I’d probably be swimming around and such. πŸ˜›

2. Do you collect anything? If so what?

I collect so much stuff! My most prized possessions are my Japanese things such as Pokemon plushies, Persona 5 plushies and especially my Good Smile Company Nendoroid’s. Me and Dane have been collecting these for about 4 years now and we love it. We have them in our living room on display and they’re our pride and joy.

3. If you could dress up as anything for Halloween (with no cost restrictions in mind), what would you dress as?

Erm… I’d probably dress up as some sort of anime or gaming character. I’d definitely do a female version of Joker from Persona 5! I’d want to get some monies together so that Dane or my best friend Gabriella could also dress up with me! Oh man, that would be pretty cool to be honest with you. πŸ˜€ I’d also love to dress up as Lady Deadpool, but I definitely don’t have the body for that…

4. What are your top 5 songs right now?

Erm…

Myth & Roid – Voracity.

Hoobastank – The Reason.

Evanescence – Lithium.

Panic! At The Disco –Β But It’s Better If You Do.

Daft Punk – Around The World.

5. Share a fond memory from your childhood, and why it’s meaningful to you πŸ™‚

I remember when I was younger and I first got into gaming, I used to always be so excited to come home after school to play games on my PlayStation and Game Boy Color! At the time I was always playing games such as Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow as well as loads of random games on my PlayStation. I just always looked forward to it to be honest and it really was a joy to come home and play those games. I remember one summer I was just so stoked to get home from work to play Spider-Man. I loved the first Spider-Man game and played it daily.

6. What’s your favourite species of bird? (hahaha I know this is super random, but I was just having a conversation about birds and was compelled to ask! :D)

Oh wow this is such a random question, but I do love those types. Erm favourite bird though? It has to be a robin. They’re so gorgeous and adorable, you can never go wrong! I’ve always heard all sorts ofΒ  stories behind them, one being if you see one it means you’ll have a good day and luck and another being that if you see a robin it means a loved one who has passed is watching over you. Both meanings are lovely and mean a lot to me whenever I see robins now. Sometimes in the mornings at work I’ll see them.

7. Imagine you could be a witch or wizard for a day, what spell would you most like to cast first? Tell us why.

Mmm I don’t know to be honest with you as I’m not a massive wizard/witch fan. I’d probably want to learn how to create a dog for myself that can be left on its own all day! That would be the dream to be honest with you.

8. Do you have a go-to Autumnal make up product?

Probably just my deep berry pink shades, such as Rebel by MAC (review here) and Gum Drop Plushies by Lime Crime (review here) as I just feel like they work really well with mustard shades, as well as other darker shades too.

9. Spooky or Spoopy? (or both like me!)?

Spooky for sure. Spoopy just makes me think of Snoopy to be honest with you.

10. What’s something that you love the texture of? (Apologies for the random questions guys, I’m not very good at this!)

I don’t know what it’s called but it’s like shearling but it’s super soft and light to the touch. I’ve owned a couple of hoodies now with it inside and it’s just so soft and fluffy. I just love brushing my hand over it as it feels like a cloud. I’m definitely a fan of soft feeling clothing, there’s just something so comforting and relaxing about it. There is nothing worse than stroking a garment that you think is going to be lovely and it feels like sandpaper!

11. Are you a fan of sci-fi? If so, do you have a favourite movie and/or TV show?

I used to love sci-fi growing up, but I feel as the years have gone by I’ve not been as much of a fan of it as I used to be. I have always been a massive Star Wars fan after my brother and dad got me into it from a young age. I Googled popular sci-fi movies and TV shows and quite a lot of stuff came up as recommendations. Black Mirror was one for TV show and this is definitely one of my favourites TV series! Alongside that there were TV shows such as Stranger Things and American Horror Story, which are another two TV series that I love.

Aww I loved all of the questions that Sarah asked all 11 of us to answer, but now it’s my turn to come up with 11 questions! πŸ˜›

1. What is the most and less used app on your phone?

2. What is something you’re really looking forward to?

3. What is your favourite flower?

4. Do you like memes? If so which is your favourite?

5. You’re being executed for a crime you committed. What is your last meal? P.S. Sorry for the morbid sort of question! πŸ˜›

6. If you could change your name, what would you change it to and why?

7. Name 3 films that you’ve enjoyed watching this year?

8. For female bloggers – Ryan Reynolds head on your ex’s body? Or your ex’s head on Ryan Reynolds body? For male bloggers – Blake Lively’s head on your ex’s body? Or your ex’s head on Blake Lively’s body?

9. Have you ever shopped on Wish before? If so what did you think? If you haven’t, would you?

10. Do you ever wish you could go back to school and be the person you are now back then?

11. What is your favourite trend?

Finally it is time to tag 11 people who I want to see taking part in this tag! πŸ˜€

Again I want to say a massive thanks to Sarah for tagging me to take part in the Sunshine Blogger Award! She’s such a star and one of my favourite bloggers, so if you love my content then please make sure to go and check out her blog!

Autumn Tag 2018

We are officially 2 weeks into autumn now and whilst I was walking home yesterday after a lovely sushi and shopping date with my friend Sophie, I took some pictures.

Earlier that day Michael fromΒ mnealewriting tagged me to take part in the autumn tag. I can never turn down a tag post, especially one about autumn! Over the years I’ve done more autumn tag posts than I can remember. I don’t care though, my thoughts on autumn seem to change each year. πŸ˜›

So get yourself a lovely hot drink and a blanket as this is going to be a long tag, enjoy!

What signifies the start of Autumn for you?

When the trees start turning into that gorgeous orange colour we all know, that chill in the air in the mornings and evenings as you travel to and from work and when it starts to get darker earlier.

What is your favourite Autumn scent?

I definitely love scents like salted caramel and other baked scents. Especially when they’re warming and comforting.

What is your favourite Autumn colour?

Mustard, for sure! I do like burgundy too, but my love of this shade has diminished as the years have gone on. Mustard has always been a firm favourite though.

Are you a fan of PSL (Pumpkin Spice Latte)

Hell no. It tastes of sugar, type 2 diabetes and heart failure.

What is your favourite Autumn drink?

I can’t say I have a favourite to be honest with you. Autumn and winter are definitely times when hot chocolates rear their yummy heads and I’m always down for a mint hot chocolate, but I associate that more with Christmas. Salted caramel latte is always a good choice.

What’s your favourite coffee shop and their drink of choice?

Anywhere really, I don’t have a favourite. I’ll go to Costa for hot chocolate and flat white and Starbucks for anything else. I love an independent coffee shop near where I live as they do creme brulee in any drink and it’s pretty damn amazing! I love independent coffee shops the most to be fair.

Apple Pie or Pumpkin Pie?

Neither. I find pumpkin flavoured things to be so American and it’s really took off over here. I don’t know why though.

What TV show, new or old, are you looking forward to in the next few months?

South Park! They have their new season out at the moment, which me and Dane need to watch actually. We’re also watching Attack on Titan and loving it. I keep binge watching This is England 86, 88 and 90 at the moment and it really makes me feel warm inside. It’s one of my favourite shows. To be fair I don’t really watch much TV, only catch up stuff. It’s gaming that’s happening for me the rest of the year!

What is your favourite Autumn fashion trend?

As you may have noticed I’m not all that fashionable anymore. BUT in my world of fashion… Erm… πŸ˜› No I’m loving the tartan trend right now! I’m wearing red tartan with cream, blue/green tartan with mustard and grey tartan with anything really. πŸ˜€

What is your favourite comfort food to enjoy in the colder months?

ALL THE FOOD! No, I especially love macaroni cheese, katsu curry, fish and chips and toad in the hole with gravy and roast potatoes. All the carbs basically.

What is your favourite Autumn activity?

Going out with Dane for walks and looking at Halloween and bonfire related goodies, just before all the Christmas stuff kicks off. I also like going out for Bonfire Night, we did that for the first time together last year and it was so much fun. I’m so excited to do it again this year already.

Do you like horror movies?

LOVE THEM! We watched one with our friends Jacqui and Chris yesterday evening. We watched the new IT and it was amazing! I’d watched half of it to be fair but the ending was good. SPOILER there’s going to be a second film coming out! But we’ve all planned to watch more horror movies and probably spend Halloween together.

Do you ever do anything fun for Halloween?

Not anymore to be honest, I’m getting too old for that now. Last year we did the house up the week of Halloween and got some trick or treaters at the door. They were only little kids with parents and THEY WERE ADORABLE! I made sure to have loads of sweets for them and this year I’ll do the same if I don’t go out for Halloween. I did really enjoy their faces when I told them how scary they looked, it’s so sweet. If we go out, we’ll probably go watch a horror movie, or go watch one with our friends.

What was your favourite part about Halloween as a child?

Well I only went trick or treating once and whilst it was fun, I felt wrong knocking peoples doors for free sweets. So that never really was my favourite thing. What was, however, was every Halloween a local stationary store stocked Halloween goodies and they just seemed to have LOADS of bat themed goodies! My mom would always buy me something and one year she bought me a blow up bat you were meant to hang on the wall. A couple of months later that bat broke and it wouldn’t inflate anymore. I was upset and gutted. When Halloween came the next year, they stocked the blow up bat again and my mom bought me another. It’s still at her house somewhere! To this day I try to buy a bat themed product over Halloween.

I just thought! You know what I really looked forward to over Halloween? Greggs cupcakes with the Halloween rings on the icing! I always wanted the bat one, but one year I managed to collect all three! A pumpkin, a skull and of course the bat. Oh man, how easy we had it when we were kids. πŸ˜›

Are you a bigger fan of Bonfire Night or Halloween?

Bonfire Night. To me it’s just the icing on the cake for autumn! As soon as Bonfire Night is over that’s it, everyone gets excited and their bodies are ready for Christmas! As I said before, me and Dane went out for the first time for Bonfire Night last year and we loved it! We had such a good evening and I have some very fond memories of it. I can’t wait to find somewhere to go this year already.

Where is your dream destination to visit in Autumn?

I don’t know to be perfectly honest with you… I would like to go to Bristol again soon as whilst I felt a bit out of place when I went for our anniversary in June, I do love that little city and the artist side of it. Otherwise I don’t know really. I’m going to Essex/London on at the start of November so that will be lovely!

Do you always forget about the clocks going back?

Ha I actually did to be honest with you! I just had to Google when it is as I can’t for the life of me remember.

When do you usually start preparing for Christmas?

I already have to be fair. πŸ˜› I usually do the start or end of October. I like it all done mid November to be honest with you so I have the rest of November and all of December to just chill out and enjoy Christmas and having money for meals out and German markets.

There we have it, that’s the autumn tag! I don’t think I’ve ever done this one before in all fairness and I LOVED it! πŸ˜€

So, who am I going to nominate?

Anyone who reads this post and loves autumn, I want you to give this tag a go! πŸ˜€ I would have tagged certain people, but I feel like the past few times I’ve just tagged the same couple of people recently and that just isn’t fair.

What’s your favourite season and why? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you had a lovely weekend. πŸ™‚

Flawsome Award

img_8133

I feel bad for posting 2 tag posts in a row, but I’ve been so damn busy this week that sadly I’ve not had time to sit down and think straight about what I want to write for my blog, even though I have loads of ideas.

Ross over at Man Vs Adulthood recently tagged me to take part in the Flawesome Award and I felt really loved to be tagged to do it. I love tag posts no matter what they’re about and as long as I feel able to do them, I will. Of course this one is not an exception.

About the Flawesome Award:

Created by Sophia Ismaa, the objective of the Flawesome Award is to celebrate the flaws that make us awesome. With this award, we are reminded that our flaws are unique things that can give us strength, and make us awesome. Sophia said: β€œOur flaws make us human, our flaws tell us more about who we are, and in turn we turn those flaws into awesome strengths. In short, our flaws make us #flawesome.”

Rules of the Flawesome Award include:

List 3 flaws and turn it into a strength

So, what are my flaws?

Urgh this post is going to be so hard for me to write today for so many reasons! I have so many flaws I ca talk about so listing 3 will probably be piss easy for me. πŸ˜›

Flaw 1 – I get wound up far too easily.

I don’t know why and although I have my suspicions as to why, I get wound up and annoyed so easily by anyone and everyone. The smallest thing can just piss me off and put me in a bad mood and it’s probably because people generally just bug me. I especially get wound up if people say things that I don’t agree with, or try to push that stuff onto me. It’s probably a trait I’ve picked up from both of my parents. We’re quite stubborn all three of us. I also blame my anxiety. If I feel anxious about a certain topic and someone is going on about it, it winds me up. I wish I couldn’t be so wound up and annoyed half the time, but meh that’s me and I don’t think I’ll ever change, sadly.

no way yes GIF

Flaw 2 – I overthink things.

This is definitely a flaw and although I like overthinking situations to prepare myself for the worst, it actually bugs me and people around me. I’ve overthought a scenario for almost all scenarios and that’s so mentally draining to be perfectly honest with you. I wish I didn’t overthink things, but at the same time whilst it’s a flaw, I also kind of like that I overthink stuff. It means I’m thoughtful of the outcomes of situations, whether they’re positive or negative thoughts.

Flaw 3 – 9 times out of 10, I actually dislike myself.

Oh what an emo flaw. I don’t know if this is technically classed as a flaw or not but I’m adding it regardless! I’m not exactly confident when it comes to myself with the way I look and whilst I get compliments almost daily from people and especially Dane, it just doesn’t do any good. I wish I could have a day where I don’t feel gross at myself but meh I don’t think this will ever happen. Definitely a flaw of mine is how much I judge myself and it sucks to be honest with you. I wish I could just not give a shit and be confident, but I doubt that’ll happen anytime soon.

Woohoo, so that is the Flawesome Award! I want to thank Ross again for tagging me to take part in it. I really hope the beauts I tagged to take part will too as it’s an eye opening post.

I’m sorry for how emo my flaws are, but meh that’s just me. πŸ˜›

Anyhoo, take care all and I hope you’re having a lovely weekend.

Another 10 Facts About Me!

Good morning all, I hope you’re all well and had a lovely weekend… Even if the weather was shockingly shit! πŸ˜›

Gemma over at But Gemma Darling recently tagged me to take part in the 10 Little Unknowns tag. She’s such a sweetie and one of my favourite bloggers out there, so I KNEW I had to take part in this tag!

You can find her post here. I loved all her answers!

I’ve done unknown facts posts before on my blog, but I want to try and come up with some quirky answers and facts about me that not many know. I really hope you enjoy reading this post, I know I’m going to enjoy writing it. πŸ˜›

1. My thumb bends back a bit further than it should. It’s really odd and whilst I’m not double jointed, there is something unnatural about how far back my thumb goes. It’s always been commented on and it only seems to be my right thumb that does this. I try to make it straighter and “normal” looking but it actually hurts. Maybe I am slightly double jointed? Who knows. πŸ˜›

2. I like to think of this as my nifty party trick BUT I can rap “Weird Al” Yankovic’s White N Nerdy with and without the lyrics… But I’m better WITH the lyrics of course. πŸ˜› If you don’t know this song I’ve shown it above. It’s a really fast song to rap to and I’ve tried it on and off for the past 10 years now… So let’s just say I’ve had plenty of practise. πŸ˜›

3. I have food phobias. I don’t know how it started or when it started but meh I have it. I hate certain smells of foods, textures and even looks. The smell of thought of eating mushrooms makes me feel sick and in the past when I lived at home, my dad would fry mushrooms and once it made me throw up. Gross. I also hate the look of tomatoes, inside and out. They just don’t look like they should be eaten and that alone makes me heave.

4. Inspired by Gemma, when I was born I wasn’t breathing straight away but a good smack to the bum got me to wake up. Apparently the drugs my mom had taken for the pain had caused me to erm… Not wake up basically. I was fine though!

5. I used to be a sex toy tester and every now and again I’ll test new sex toys, but that’s once in a blue moon lately. I’m not going to name which company I tested and reviewed for, but I did used to love doing it.

6. I have a pretty sick and dark sense of humour thanks to years of watching Dirty Sanchez, Jackass and cKy on MTV, as well as many other shows. Speaking of Dirty Sanchez, I recently went to see Lee Dainton and Matthew Pritchard talk about Dirty Sanchez and got to meet the guys after. Highlight of my year! πŸ˜€

7. When I was 6 years old I looked like Hermione Granger… I hate this unknown fact about me as I’m not the biggest Harry Potter fan but meh, I see the resemblance. I wish my hair still looked that amazing! I loved having wavy hair growing up. This was due to a french braid though. My hair is naturally straight. Also, look how perfect them eyebrows are! πŸ˜›

8. I roll my eyes a lot, especially when talking about people and how they annoy me. I didn’t really notice how much I do this though until Dane’s brother pointed it out to me and how I look like the one guy from TGFBro. I just seem to do it to emphasise how annoying and dumb people are and in turn how much that annoys me.

9. Growing up I loved playing video games, my love of games has grown as the years have too, but sadly my enjoyment of certain games have declined and I couldn’t honestly tell you why. I have a feeling it’s actually from watching certain people play games for years and not having a go myself. It’s just made me feel like I may as well just watch people play games instead of partaking in them myself.

10. I actually think I have tokophobia, which is a fear of being pregnant/having children. I love seeing my friends and families babies and children, but the thought of having my own fills me with dread. The thought of having a baby freaks me out for so many reasons, including changing my body, my life and especially having no fucking money. Fair play to people who do it, I don’t know how you do. I’d say I don’t know why, but that would be very unfair. Meh either way this fear is growing monthly and it sucks.

Wow we made it to the end! It took me quite a few days to do, I’m not going to lie. πŸ˜› This post was actually meant to go up on Saturday but sadly I was just far too busy to get it done. 😦 Oh well, better late than never eh?

Do you feel like you learnt some new things about me? Let me know which one(s) you found were new facts!

Right, time to invite some awesome people to give this a go too. πŸ˜›
