September Favourites ’18

I say this every month but honestly where is this year going and how is it already October?! I’m so excited for autumn and winter though, because as much as I love the warmer weather, I hate it in the UK! People just don’t know how to deal with it, including myself. I never have any decent summer clothes for the UK either and I was baking at work and home. URGH!

September really did fly by and I honestly do not know where the month went. Well to be fair I had a week off work so that fly by, which is always the way it works! ๐Ÿ˜› That is definitely my last bit of holiday until April now. ๐Ÿ˜›

So with a busy month, I have SO MANY FAVOURITES TO SHARE! I sometimes struggle to be honest with you, but not this month. ๐Ÿ˜› I hope you like this months favourites post anyhoo!

  • SBC Collagen Bath & Shower Creme.

This was a shower creme my mom recently gave to me. She loves SBC and when I lived at home I used to use the brand quite a lot. Since moving out a few years ago I’ve not touched it since, not until she recently gave me this MASSIVE bottle of collagen bath and shower creme! I use this daily now and it only takes a little bit of this and it goes such a long way. It smells floral yet sweet, I can’t quite put my finger on the scent but I really do like it, it’s different. This makes my skin feel so moisturised and fresh after use. I really do love it and so happy my mom gave it to me.

  • Barry M All in One Nail Paint.

This has been one of my favourite base and top coats for years, YEARS! My old bottle of this went out of date and was unusable, which sucks. I finally remembered to pick up a new bottle and this helped my nail polishes last SO DAMN LONG, which in turn made me so happy. I’ve been struggling to get my polishes to last longer than a day but thanks to using this it’s caused them to last just under a week. I love it and I don’t think I’ll use my nail polishes without it ever again.

  • The Body Shop Coconut Bubble Bar (review here).

If there is a new bath product I love to the moon and back, it’s definitely the coconut bubble bar from The Body Shop. I feel like I’ve spoken loads about The Body Shop on my blog lately and I do apologise for that, but meh I love the brand so much and it’s thanks to me rediscovering it that has helped me start to look after my skin properly once again. These bubble bars are a real treat but I’ve used them quite a few times throughout September. It’s just made me realise how excited I am for the colder weather and coming home to a nice hot bath after a long day. I really hope The Body Shop release some limited edition scents for Christmas! I’ve linked it where the name of the product is, but I recently reviewed this, so you can check it out.

  • Barry M Molten Metal Celestial Silver Nail Paint.

When I picked up the Barry M all in one nail paint I picked up a few other bits and pieces too. It turned out I qualified for a 3 for 2 offer so I quickly ran back to the Barry M stand and picked up this gorgeous nail paint! This is part of the molten metal collection, which I own a couple of nail paints from already (you can check out the review for the holographic one here) and they’re pretty awesome. I’d seen pictures of this shade on Instagram and it is so damn pretty! I wore it during my week off work and it was so lovely to wear. I got so many compliments on it. I really need to paint my nails with it again, as well as review it. ๐Ÿ˜›

  • Carex Unicorn Magic Hand Wash.

I picked this up at the start of September as I found it in Savers. I remember hearing about this scent from Carex for AGES but could never find it anywhere! So when I found both the hand wash and the shower and bath I picked a couple of each up. I was going to mention the shower and bath but I feel like the hand wash has been used so much more. It’s such a lovely scent, which is of palma violets! I’ve never been a massive fan of the sweets, but I do really like the scent. I don’t know if this hand wash is drying my skin out of not, as I’ve always been hit and miss with Carex hand washes. I don’t care though, I love it so damn much and it’s going to be a part of my bathroom from now on!

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – American Horror Story Season 7 Cult.

Before and during our week off I made sure that me and Dane finished catching up on American Horror Story. I would have mentioned season 6 too, but that was such a bag of shit I couldn’t even believe people enjoyed it. Season 7 which is Cult was AMAZING though and I loved it so much! I loved Evan Peter’s character, even if he was a psycho! I also loved his sister Winter too and especially loved what she wore throughout the show. It was just a great season, even if it was a little bat shit crazy… But which season of AHS ISN’T bat shit crazy? ๐Ÿ˜› I need to start watching the new season as it’s currently airing, but it’s trying to find it to be honest.

Favourite Film – Christoper Robin.

Oh man I was so happy to have a date evening with Dane and this film was definitely that. I cried so many times throughout this and as soon as it comes out on DVD and Bluray I’ll be picking it up! It was such a lovely film and definitely one that I thought was made for adults over children. Pooh was adorable and definitely one of my favourite characters alongside Eeyore. The humour was just so dry and hilarious all at the same time! If I wasn’t crying, I was laughing. At one point I was sad for Pooh and turned to Dane to say, “Oh poor Pooh” and my voice broke as I said it was I was trying not to cry. It was hilarious! If you haven’t seen this film yet and get the chance to, honestly go and see it.

Favourite Book – Himouto! Umaru-Chan.

New month, new manga to read! I’ve not read loads of this, but enough for me to mention it here this month. I LOVED the anime so as soon as I found out the manga was FINALLY coming out in the UK I decided to order both volume 1 and 2 so I could read it. There are so many volumes coming out over a short period of time too which is pretty awesome and I love it! It’s a pretty cool manga and what you’d expect if you’ve watched the anime. It’s definitely made me chuckle when I’ve read it before going to work.

Favourite Song/Artist/Album – Myth & Roid – Voracity.

Me and Dane discovered this song thanks to the anime Overlord and we love it so damn much! We listen to it almost daily and it’s so damn catchy. I can’t remember where we were or what we were doing but I kept humming it whilst we were out and it was starting to bug me after a while. ๐Ÿ˜› I need to find more music from this band as their sound is pretty awesome. Definitely give it a listen!

Favourite Game –ย Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies.

I hate that I go into phases when it comes to playing games and this is definitely a game I’ve played on and off for God knows how long! I do really love playing it but sometimes I just don’t have time and then other times I’ll have LOADS of time to play it! It’s so bizarre. Anyway, I’ve finally sort of got into this game and I really do love playing it. I feel like a mini detective/solicitor and it’s pretty cool. I only paid about ยฃ7.00 for it too when I picked it up, which is pretty good. Now I’m talking about it, I actually really want to go and play it.

So those were my favourites from September. I’m pretty excited for October as I plan to start my Christmas shopping and of course we have Halloween and Bonfire Night coming up, which is always good. ๐Ÿ˜›

Do you have plans for both of those things yet? What were your favourites from September too? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you had a lovely weekend.

The Body Shop Coconut Bath Bubble – Review

From hardly any reviews on my blog, to LOADS! Aww I do love writing reviews and I always forgot how much I love writing them.

I’m back with yet another The Body Shop product to talk about and today it’s going to be another bath product. I recently spoke about the strawberry bath bomb on my blog and after using the bath bubble, I just knew I had to share how amazing it is with you all!

As I mentioned on my review of the bath bomb, I am still always trying to find brands that amazing bath products that won’t leave your bank account crying afterwards. The Body Shop is doing such a great job with creating amazing bath products and whenever I pick up new ones, I’ll definitely be sharing them with you all!

At the same time as I bought the strawberry bath bomb, I decided to pick up one of the bath bubbles too. I picked up the Coconut Bath Bubble as I found it sounded the most appealing to myself. Whilst the strawberry scent from The Body Shop will always be my favourite hands down, I also love the coconut scent too. I used to use it all the time as a teenager and it was my go to whenever I shopped in The Body Shop.

Like the bath bombs there are various different scents you can pick up for the bath bubbles including coconut, moringa and pink grapefruit. Like the bath bombs these don’t break the bank and only cost ยฃ1.50 each.

Like the bath bombs these are only 28g but for how small they are they really do pack a punch and leave you with a bath full of bubbles, scent and colour.

The bubble bar itself is in such a cute little heart shape, which I wasn’t expecting! I don’t know if the other two scents also share this shape, but if they do that would be so cute! It’s also this gorgeous baby blue colour, which really shows when you pop it into the bath. Of course it smells of coconut and I know this sounds odd but it just smells of The Body Shop coconut, a creamy scent that reminds me summers abroad and sun cream. I love it!

Like my Lush bubble bars I use a sieve/strainer to make sure I get the best bubbles possible! I sometimes crumble said bubble bar up into the sieve but I found the coconut bubble bar was quite strong and hard to break so I ended up just popping the whole thing into the sieve and running it under the hot tap.

The blue bath colour really does begin to show through pretty quickly, which took me by surprise! These aren’t big bubble bars but they really aren’t messing around when it comes to the colour payoff in the bath! You can see when you move the bar away from the water how it continues to foam up and bubble, which entertained me for a while.

Even halfway through me running this under the tap it was still really hard to break up and make crumbly, so I had to continue with this until I managed to break it up. It’s a really strong blue colour and I can understand why it gave off such an amazing blue to the water now, as well as loads of bubbles.

Oh my God, look at all the bubbles and all the blue water! I felt like a mermaid to be honest with you and I was loving it!

The water itself had a lovely delicate coconut scent, nothing too strong or too weak, which I really loved. The water was somewhat conditioning on the skin, but nothing like the Lush bath bombs and bubble bars. It did the job though and I felt so pampered after using it. It left a light scent of coconut on my skin too, which would be lovely to compliment afterwards by using either The Body Shop coconut body butter orย body milk (which I used to use constantly as a teenager!), or the coconut body mist or eau de toilette.

Since trying the coconut bath bubble I’ve bought three more since as I just love using them so much. I am actually so happy that The Body Shop have brought out stuff like this as like I said on the strawberry bath bomb review, I really don’t want to keep buying and supporting Lush anymore, so if I can support better brands who also won’t rip me off, that would make me so happy!

What do you think of The Body Shop bath bubbles? Would you give them a go? Have you already? Let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope your weeks are going well so far.

The Body Shop Strawberry Bath Bomb – Review

Okay so I know the last review I did on my blog was about a product from The Body Shop and as you can tell from the title of this post, this one is about the same brand again.

I’m sorry for posting another review about The Body Shop BUT lately I feel like they’re ticking all the boxes and doing something right. I want to talk about them as much as I can, whenever I can!

I found out when writing my wish list Wednesday post about The Body Shop that they now stock more bath products, which makes me feel so damn happy!

If there is one thing I have been trying to do throughout 2018 is find a replacement for Lush bath products. As cool as Lush products are, I really don’t like them anymore, for so many reasons. If you’d like to know why, please let me know and I’ll do a post about it.

For now however, I’m going to be talking about one of The Body Shop’s newer products, Strawberry Bath Bomb.

I recently picked a couple of these up to try because if there is one scent I love from The Body Shop it’s definitely Strawberry! I have so many childhood memories of my mom taking me into The Body Shop to buy a bottle of both the strawberry and satsuma shower gels, alongside some bath pearls and animal soaps.

There are various different scents you can choose from for the bath bombs including strawberry, mango andย green tea. I didn’t pick up the other two as I wasn’t 100% sure if I’d like the scent, but for just ยฃ1.50 you wouldn’t be spending a bomb (Ha… Get it? Bomb? :P) on one of these.

That small price makes sense considering these are only 28g. They’re not very big, but I rather like this. I feel like these will make great stocking fillers at Christmas, as well as good little gifts to pad out someone’s birthday present. They’re especially great for children and teenagers who are starting to get into beauty and bath products.

The strawberry bath bomb is a cute pink colour and smells just like the other products, especially the shower gel. For such a small bath bomb, the scent really does pack a punch and I was so pleased these smelt strong. I say strong, they’re not like Lush bath bombs, I just mean strong for the size of them.

I popped this straight into the bath and wow did the fizz on this last a long time, or what?! It also produced a pink shade similar to the bomb itself. I was pleasantly surprised at how “dark” the bath bomb was when it had finished. I couldn’t wait to get in to be honest with you!

In all honesty this felt slightly moisturising but meh it wasn’t anything special. I didn’t not feel moisturised but I didn’t feel like I was all at the same time. If anything I would want to use the Strawberry Body Yogurt afterwards so I could smell of The Body Shop strawberry for as long as possible.

I have sensitive skin and after using this I didn’t find I encountered any issues. This felt really gentle on the skin but as I said, if you need moisturiser after a “boring” bath then you’ll need it with this too. These are like the Lush bath bombs where you feel conditioned and soft afterwards.

This being said I did notice that I could smell the strawberry on my skin throughout the day on and off, which was really nice! I did use the shower gel alongside it too in the bath, which was amazing!

Okay so this next part has kind of resulted in a mini rant about Lush and the hipster standards they now seem to have set up for bath products. I read a couple of reviews on The Body Shop website for these bath bombs and urgh, I’m now raging.

Granted to Lush fans this ISN’T an exciting bath bomb and nor is it pigmented but for the price, what the fuck do you expect?! I’ve noticed a couple of people on The Body Shop website review the bath bombs and moan at how they’re nothing like Lush. Why do we always compare to them? They weren’t the first people to create bath bombs and they certainly won’t be the last. I honestly feel like there is nothing natural in their products half the time. I don’t want greasy butters in my bath bomb and nor do I want edible glitter. I just want a plain bath bomb that I can enjoy and not feel greasy or look/feel like Tinkerbell afterwards when she’s being shaken around. I do apologise for the mini rant, but I am sick and tired of the “standards” that Lush have set for bath products, when in all honesty they’re actually pretty shit and WAY OVER THE TOP.

Rant over. ๐Ÿ˜›

Overall my thoughts on The Body Shop Strawberry Bath Bomb is pretty awesome and for its size it really does pack a punch and all for just the sweet price of ยฃ1.50! This won’t break the bank at all! These are especially great for kids and teenagers to spend their pocket money on! You could buy all 3 scents for just ยฃ4.50, you’d pay more than that for just one bath bomb from Lush, as well as other bath product sellers.

Do yourself a favour and get to The Body Shop and pick some of these up! Which scent(s) would you like to try? Or have you already given them a go? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time all, take care and I hope you’ve had a lovely weekend.

September Wish List ’18

Yay for September! As I mentioned on my previous post, I love September and it’s by far my favourite month of the year. However, whilst I have some goodies on this wish list that I would LOVE to buy, I’m actually intending to go on a spending ban this month. Anything I buy will be because I NEED it and not because I WANT it.

This is because I plan to go to London to see my friend Sophi closer to Christmas and I need monies for that of course! ๐Ÿ˜€

So this is definitely a wish list and not a, “Fuck it! I’ll buy it!” I hope you like this wish list though. ๐Ÿ˜›

  • New Look Navy and Red Check Tapered Trousers – (link)

I honestly don’t need anymore of these trousers but these are pretty nice and I can always do with more trousers for work, especially as the weather is getting cooler now. Is it sad though that one of the reasons I want these is because they remind me of the ones that Joker wears in Persona 5? HA! ๐Ÿ˜› Yes I am a sad person. In all honesty though I love wearing these trousers for work and a recent pair I bought from New Look are so comfortable and definitely my favourites to wear.

  • Nintendo 3DS Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrith – (link)

I’m currently playing Persona 4: Golden and I LOVE that game! Although I don’t love the fact that my Phantom Thieves babies aren’t in it from Persona 5… Again, sad much?! Atlus recently announced that Persona Q2 would be coming out in Japan at the end of this year, so before we know it it’ll be out here in the UK too. I’ve been meaning to play the first Persona Q game but as of yet I haven’t. Soon as I’ve finished Persona 4: Golden, I’ll be buying this next! I’d love to get the actual game but it’s too expensive these days, especially when Nintendo eShop have it for the great price of ยฃ17.99. Whilst writing this blog post I’ve come down with a cold, so a part of me was so damn tempted to pick it up now, but meh I’ll be good. ๐Ÿ˜›

  • Funko Pop! Vinyl Spyro The Dragon & Sparx – (link)

I didn’t know that this Pop was coming out until I was writing my 7 games I’m excited for post recently. I found it on the GAME website when I was looking at Spyro Reignited on there and now I want it so badly! I don’t even know where I would keep it in my house, but it just looks adorable. I’d probably end up keeping it in my manga cupboard, or even by mine and Dane’s computer. I doubt I’ll buy it, but it sure will go on a Christmas list. ๐Ÿ˜›

  • Etsy TeanoSugar Persona 5 Joker Hard Enamel Pin – (link)

Urgh pin badges are kind of taking over my life and I am incredibly surprised that I haven’t ordered this yet… Again, I’m trying to be good! I have so many pin badges and sadly I can only wear one or two at a time. BUT this Joker pin badge is amazing and oh so perfect that eventually I will need it, no matter what! I’d wear this for work all the bloody time, as well as over the weekends on coats and hoodies. I would love to see Morgana and Ryuji made too and when I eventually order this pin, I’ll definitely ask the seller if they’ll be making anymore designs.

  • TeePublic Wezdesign Morgana Mona Persona 5 T-Shirt – (link)

Looking back at this wish list, I feel like half of it is Persona 5 related. Sorry guys that I’m a hardcore P5 fangirl! I could be worse. ๐Ÿ˜› I remember seeing this print/design on Redbubble ages ago but it suddenly vanished and I don’t know why. The same design is no on TeePublic and it’s pretty adorable! I need more Morgana t-shirts in my life and whilst I do like this on a t-shirt, I’d love to get it on a sweater a little bit more. I refuse to buy anymore though… Again, Christmas list. ๐Ÿ˜›

  • The Body Shop Almond Milk & Honey Calming & Caring Bath Milk – (link)

This is the last item on this list and it’s definitely one I really wanted to buy at The Body Shop event I went to recently for Coventry bloggers. I thought I’d be good though but since then I’ve been thinking about it. I love a good bubble bath and since I’ve stopped buying Lush products I’m trying to find places that sell similar products for good prices. I am LOVING The Body Shop right now for bath related stuff! I recently tried one of their bath bombs and it was perfect, absolutely perfect. I really like the Almond Milk & Honey range and would love to give the bath milk a go, especially with winter coming up.

So there is my wish list for this month! I am planning not to buy anything from this list to be honest with you. I need to save my monies. ๐Ÿ˜›

What goodies do you have on your wish lists this month? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time though, take care guys and I hope you had an awesome weekend.

August Favourites ’18

YAY it is finally September, my favourite month of the year! I can’t wait to get started thinking about all the awesome things that are happening this month. I liked August, but it just lasted a little too long for my liking.

August was also an exciting month and I can’t wait to talk about both that as well as what this month brings in a post very soon.

For now though, it’s time to talk about my favourites from August and considering how much of a blur last month was, I worry I won’t even remember any of my favourites. ๐Ÿ˜›

Here goes, enjoy!

  • The Body Shop Peppermint Cooling Foot Lotion.

I feel bad as I already know I’ll have two The Body Shop products mentioned on this post, but sod it! Clearly they’re doing something right. Anyway, after finishing off my L’Occitane foot cream I’ve now moved onto FINALLY using and finishing The Body Shop foot lotion. I really love this foot lotion and have done since I bought it many moons ago. It’s old, I know but it certainly still does the job. It’s got a lovely peppermint menthol scent to it and leaves my feet feeling cooled, smelling fresh and feeling smooth all day. I use this in the mornings before I head to work. You can still buy their cooling foot lotion, but it doesn’t seem to look the same as it used to. Mine is pink, whilst the newer version looks blue on the website. Either way, it’s amazing stuff!

  • Lime Crime Plushies in shade Gum Drop.

I’ve been so excited to mention on this product on my blog! I haven’t bought myself a lip product for absolute months now and in all honesty it’s due to how anxious I’ve been about wearing lipsticks. Not just that, but the effort of wearing it at work has also affected it. However, I really do miss wearing lipsticks and whilst I don’t wish to wear them everyday, I’d definitely like to wear them more often. I’ve had the shade Cherry Soda in my wish list folder for the longest time and decided to finally pick up that shade, as well as another. I’m so glad I opted on Gum Drop to be honest with you as out of the two, I feel like I’ve worn this one more. It’s such a me shade as it’s sheer berry shade and if there’s one shade I love, it’s berry. It reminds me a little of MAC Rebel, which is my favourite lipstick shade ever. I’ll be writing reviews on the Lime Crime Plushies soon, so keep eyes peeled for that!

  • Tesco Comfort Eye Drops.

This is such a random product to add to this list this month, BUT these eye drops were a life saver at the time of purchase. We’d headed to Coventry to see Dane’s parents for the afternoon, which was lovely but as we left and were on the way to theirs my one eye was incredibly dry and VERY sore. At one point I was even worried that I had an eye infection heading my way. I didn’t want to spend a fortune on eye drops but I needed something decent. These cost me less than ยฃ2.00 and they did such an amazing job. I don’t feel like they’ve done anything dramatic for my eyes, but they definitely make my eyes feel better, especially whenever hayfever was around in August! It’s made me realise that I need eye drops in my daily routine now.

  • The Body Shop Passionberry Lip Balm.

I picked this lip balm up a couple of months back, as whilst I don’t need anymore lip balms in my life, I always end up buying more. In all fairness I get through my Vaseline tins quite quickly, especially when I’m using them at work all day! Since my lips haven’t broken out and been gross and infected for almost a year now, I feel more comfortable with wearing coloured lip balms! I picked up two of these, but the one I was after the most was this purple shade in passionberry. Oh my it smells divine and is a really thick lip balm too. I feel like this really nourishes my lips and feels more like a gel butter instead of a balm. I also picked up strawberry, which is a gorgeous red shade. I know for a fact I’ll be wearing these loads throughout autumn and winter during work, as well as out on the go.

  • Lush Plum Rain Shower Gel.

I’ve only recently been using this shower gel after owning it for about 2 or 3 months! My manager actually bought it for me as a belated birthday present, which was incredibly sweet! I remember her saying, “I went in to get Snow Fairy as you said how much you love it. But seeing as they didn’t have that, I got this for you instead.” How cute is my manager?! This shower gel is one I wanted to try from Lush when it first came out. Although I probably won’t pick it up in the future, I am definitely loving using it! It’s a gorgeous dark purple colour (which is my favourite colour) and foams up so well from just a little bit of product. It also smells amazing, just like plums! It reminds me of Christmas to be honest and this is purely down to The Body Shop plum shower gel they had out for a few years.

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – Attack on Titan Season 3.

I feel like I mentioned this recently… But in all honestly I don’t recall at all talking about season 3 of Attack on Titan! It’s been out for quite a few weeks now and me and Dane watch it every Sunday morning/afternoon on Crunchyroll. As each season has aired and played, the story has just gotten so much better. I am for sure loving season 3, as so much is coming out and it is AMAZING! Dane already knows what’s happening as he’s up to date with the manga. There have already been some awesome scenes and massive pieces of information coming out, especially in last weeks episode. However, I’m not going to talk about this here though so I don’t spoil anything for anyone. BUT if you have always wanted to watch Attack on Titan, I honestly tell you to go and do it and if you want a new manga to read, go and read the manga too. ๐Ÿ˜›

Favourite Film – A Quiet Place.

Me and Dane watched this recently over the August bank holiday and oh man I WISH so badly that we had gone to the cinema to watch it. It’s stars and is directed by John Kransinski and his co star Emily Blunt is also his wife! I learnt this whilst watching it, which was pretty awesome. It’s basically about some alien style creaters that come to earth and if you make a sound the aliens will hear you and kill you. The film is CONSTANTLY on the go and keeping you on the edge of your seat. Me and Dane felt so tense throughout the movie in our living room, so God knows how we’d have felt if we were in the cinema! We didn’t buy this, we rented it but I would have happilly paid for this, it’s such a great film. I heard a few days after watching this that they’re already planning for a second one, which I’ll definitely go and see in the cinema.

Favourite Book – Persona 4.

I saw my best friend Gabriella for her birthday in August and we had such a lovely girly day together! I had her birthday presents with me and she had my belated birthday presents with her! She bought me an amazing Persona 5 Morgana t-shirt as well as Persona 4 Vol. 1 manga! I’ve been meaning to pick it up for ages now but just not got around to it just yet. I’ve already read it and I loved it so much, far more than Persona 3! Persona 3 Vol. 1 before the shit out of me, but Persona 4 has left me wanting more and I can’t wait to pick up the next one(s) already. Such an amazing present, thanks again Gab! ๐Ÿ˜€

Favourite Song/Album/Artist – Radio Bam and Hoobastank – The Reason.

So I’ve popped Radio Bam on here this month as I’ve been doing nothing but listening to full Radio Bam episodes most of this month. On and off over the past 10 years I’ve been listening to Radio Bam and I always end up stop listening as I just get bored of it, or I just can’t be arsed with it. Thanks to YouTube and someone uploading all the episodes to their channel and playlist I can keep up with what episodes I’ve listening to. I also love listening to Radio Bam whilst I do blog work, get ready in the morning before work and when I wine down in the evenings. I wish I could get the episodes on my phone or iPod so I can listen to the podcasts on my way to and from work.

Alongside Radio Bam I decided to add Hoobastank – The Reason as I forgot about this song existing! I remember when it came out in 2004. I would have been 14 when this came out and DEEP in my skater phase, with my emo one just around the corner. I remember it would come on KERRANG! all the time, both the radio as well as the music channel and I didn’t really like it much as the video confused the hell out of me. It randomly popped up on my recommendations recently on YouTube and I gave it a listen. Now I’m in love with it and intrigued to check out the rest of Hoobastank’s music.

Favourite Game – Viscera Cleanup.

Over the bank holiday in August me and Dane ended up buying this game and played it together on the Sunday and Monday and it was so much fun. I understand why it got so much hype when it first came out and even now! Basically some weird murder sprees have occured in work style places and it’s your job to clean up all the blood, guts, body parts, etc. We’ve played a couple of levels but the one that broke us both was the Christmas one where Father Christmas has gone on a mass murder of all his elves and reindeer. The funniest part was we would find TNT all over the place and it would constantly blow us up without even realising. It was hilarious and crazy all at the same time. I definitely recommend you watch people play it if your PC or laptop isn’t powerful enough to play it. Oh man, it’s hilarious!

Wow this post feels like it took forever and to be fair it really did… But I have a reason why!

I might have bought myself a new laptop to be honest with you… ๐Ÿ˜› So my day was starting this post, stopping to look at laptops, ordering the laptop to pick up, going to pay and pick it up, setting it up at home, having dinner and FINALLY finishing off this post!

If I get the chance too I’ll definitely talk more about my laptop in the future. I just wanted something new and lighter. I’m already so happy with my decision to buy this and the past 10 months of saving for this has been totally worth it!

Coventry Bloggers – The Body Shop Event

Oh man I have been M.I.A. this past week and I am so sorry! I’ve been a mixture of poorly and too busy with personal life to do any blog work.

FINALLY THOUGH I am here and I am talking about an amazing blogger event I attended last Friday, which the gorgeous Emily over at Drained Beauty organised.

As the title reads, this was for the Coventry Bloggers community, which I’m proud to be a part of! I know, I’m not from Coventry BUT Dane is so we both visit the area regularly.

I was so excited for the event and made sure to leave work early so I could get to the event in good time. This is my first (and hopefully not last!) blogger event of 2018, so I couldn’t wait for 4pm to hit so I could leave work and make my way to Coventry.

Can I just say, the weather was so shit as I got off of the train in Coventry, it was chucking it down so I legged it from the station to the town centre. Thankfully it wasn’t raining on my way home, even though I’d bought an umbrella as soon as I got to Primark. MEH!

Anyway! I got to the event with about 15-20 minutes to spare and got to meet the lovely ladies who would be attending the event. I just want to say, the Coventry blogger babes who were at the event are by far some of the nicest I have ever met! I’ve been to many events in the past and whilst I’ve met some absolute beauts, they weren’t as friendly and chatty as the girls were last week.

Not only were the bloggers at the event lovely, but the two members of staff were also amazing. They were approachable throughout the event about all sorts and were thorough whenever they were talking about certain products. So thank you so much girls for holding an amazing event!

Right, onto the event itself now! I’ll be talking about all the new products we heard about, as well as what I got in my cute little goodie bag and what I bought.

The event itself worked out that we would have a nose around the shop, talk amongst ourselves, to one another and the staff all whilst trying certain products.

The first new product we were shown and told about is the limited edition banana range! I’ve already spoken about this on my blog and even reviewed the body yogurt (which you can read here).

Although The Body Shop has banana hair care in their permanent range, the body care is sadly only limited edition and I assume will be around until the Christmas stock is out. I’ll be sad when it goes, especially the body butter and body yogurt.

In the range there’s three itemsย shower cream, body butter and body yogurt. The girls were telling us how banana is great for dry skin due to how rich in potassium they are. This helps to repair and hydrate dry and damaged skin. After hearing about the banana range and how amazing it is, we were offered demonstrations with both the body butter and body yogurt. I would have had a go, but I already own the whole range so I already know how amazing it is!

Before the next demonstration and talk went ahead on another new product, we were left to take ALL THE SELFIES with the banana range! I did a couple myself with two of my favourite products from the range. I cannot tell you how amazing the banana range is and I swear we all need to get a petition started for The Body Shop to keep it forever!

The next products we heard about were new face products that The Body Shop have in stock, as well as some old favourites that not many people know about. The first item we heard about is their liquid peels and they showed us the Vitamin C Glow Revealing Liquid Peel,ย Drops of Youth Youth Liquid Peel and Drops of Light Liquid Peel. I had a go with the latter and it is pretty cool and yet gross all at the same time!

Sadly I didn’t get any pictures of the demonstration I had on the back of my hand, but I’ve used liquid peels in the past by Korean brands. It’s a gel consistency and the more you rub onto your skin the more it works on the skin to gently peel away any dead skin. It’s gross and satisfying seeing all the gunk that rubs off of your skin! I love using my Korean one once to twice a week and I honestly plan to buy The Body Shop one in the future! This leaves your skin looking and feeling fresh, as well as brighter. I love how there’s the two different liquid peels to choose from. I tried the Drops of Light, but I’m 30 soon so I need the Drops of Youth one me thinks.

Alongside the liquid peels, the girls were also telling us about the new face mask to join The Body Shop’s growing collection! We heard about a couple of the face masks, but the newest member of the family is Mediterranean Almond Milk With Oats Instant Soothing Face Mask.

This face mask is designed for people with sensitive skin and is 100% vegan! This face mask also acts as an exfoliating face mask and reminded me of porridge when I looked at it inside the jar. It helps dry and sensitive skin from feeling tight and itchy, all whilst gently exfoliating your skin to leave you with smooth hydrated skin! I don’t know about you guys, but this is very much needed throughout the winter months, so this will be great to dig out whilst having a hot bath as the weather gets cooler.

I gave this a go in store on the back of my hand and it felt so gentle and the sort of product you would use in a spa. I know one of my friends definitely wants to give it a go after I showed it her, due to the sensitive skin idea! There is nothing worse than having sensitive skin and not being able to use face masks due to that.

The other face mask that the girls were talking about is the Japanese Matcha Tea Pollution Clearing Mask. I’ve wanted to try this since it came out and I had a little look at this face mask on the back of my hand, which felt amazing! I definitely need to give this a go in the future, especially as autumn and winter will be here before we know it.

After we gave the face products a go that the girls spoke about, they were showing us this box with loads of things inside of jars that you can look at. Each jar explains what the item is inside and where it has come from in the world. They also have the cards which explain where EVERYTHING comes from that goes into our products, which I think is amazing! If you visit the Coventry store the girls told me you can ask to see this box and honestly have a look when looking at certain products! It’s really interesting to see where they come from.

BUT an awesome fact one of the girls told me has really stuck with me since then and I’ve been sharing it with everyone I know! Basically Hartley’s sell seedless strawberry jam. Someone at The Body Shop knew this face and asked Hartley’s what they do with the seeds. I can’t remember what Hartley’s said but now they give the seeds to The Body Shop, which goes into their Strawberry Softening Body Polish. How cool is that fact though?!

After that we again got to have a little look around the shop, give the face products a test and take lots of pictures! I went around the bath products and had a nose at what The Body Shop has to offer. I’ve bought some of the bath bombs and bubble bars to try and so far I’ve tried the strawberry one, which I’ll also be reviewing VERY soon!

The last products that the girls told us about were make up related and sadly I didn’t get any pictures of the girls talking about these. I can of course fill you in on what new products we were told about.

The girls were talking about the new Matte Clay Powers that have recently launched, which come in six different shades. Sadly I don’t wear make up like this so these didn’t interest me in the slightest! They look pretty good for the price though and I’m sure they give good coverage too.

Then we were told about the new lipsticks that have recently come into store. I feel bad that I can’t remember for the life of me what they’re called and I can’t seem to find them on their website! They’re matte style lipsticks but with shine and comfort that a matte lipstick doesn’t bring with it. They came in a lovely variety of colours, with mostly nudes, pinks and reds! I sadly didn’t give them a go as I didn’t want to end up buying loads of lipsticks. ๐Ÿ˜›

However, I did give their Shine Lip Liquid’s a go as the holographic style packing was bringing out the magpie in me!

One of the exciting things we learnt about from The Body Shop girls is that The Body Shop is rolling out 3 for 2 in some stores right now, including the Coventry store as a trial run. This 3 for 2 applies to pretty much everything in the store and will enable people to try all sorts of different products! The 3 for 2 works like most offers of the same name, you pick up 3 products and you get the cheapest free!

Sadly I didn’t make the most of this promotion as I’m trying to be good, but I didย end up buying one of the Shine Lip Liquid’s, which I have fallen madly in love with and worn ever since buying. I’ll definitely be reviewing this in the future! I picked up Blueberry Chew, which is a gorgeous pink with blue tones and shimmer. It’s definitely a lip gloss. These come in nine different shades, some shimmery and some normal. I would love to pick up more of these in the future!

Then it was time to grab my goodie bag and make my way back to Birmingham. I ended the evening buying 20 chicken nuggets from McDonald’s and going around the local area playing Pokemon GO. Oh how the other half live. ๐Ÿ˜›

I thought I’d show you guys what I got in my goodie bag as it’s so lovely and perfect for myself. I did want to give some of the products in here a go before writing this post, but sadly I just haven’t had time to. Hopefully in the future I can give them a go and give a proper review!

First of all I’ll show you guys the gorgeous cosmetic bag* I got in my goodie bag! It’s a black bag covered in pink bunnies, writing which says, “Forever Against Animal Testing” and The Body Shop logo.

Inside the pouch are three products, a full size bottle of Strawberry Shower Gel*, a full size tube of Almond Milk & Honey Calming & Protecting Hand Cream* and a travel size bottle of Banana Truly Nourishing Shampoo*.

I’ve used the Strawberry shower gel for about 20 years now and it’s always a fond favourite to have in my shower. Dane loves it so much that he bought 2 massive pump bottles in the sale! So this will go down a treat in my bathroom.

I’ve grown to love the Almond Milk & Honey range SO MUCH recently and I especially love the hand cream. Sadly however it doesn’t do as much for my hands as it could and should. This being said I still use it and use it daily at work.

Finally the banana shampoo has been a love/hate product of mine and Dane’s since we started dating. One minute I love it and what it does for my hair and the next I feel a bit meh about it. Mostly because you pay quite a lot for the product and I don’t feel the price is worth what it does. Sorry The Body Shop! Dane loves it though and these little travel bottles are handy for have for weekends away.

The other goodies I got in my bag came in this cute little pink and white polka dot paper bag. Inside there are loads of little samples, including the Japanese Matcha tea Pollution Clearing Mask*, Mediterranean Almond Milk With Oats Instant Soothing Mask* Vitamin C Glow Revealing Liquid Peel*, Banana Shower Cream* and finally the Banana Body Yogurt*.

I honestly cannot wait to give the liquid peel and the matcha face mask a go over the weekend! I plan to have a proper pamper day on Sunday and these two will be used in that regime. ๐Ÿ˜›

As I mentioned I bought the Shine Lip Liquid in the shade Blueberry Chew and thanks to my ยฃ5 discount voucher, I managed to bag it for ยฃ2! Bargain!!! I honestly can’t wait to review this on my blog.

Overall I LOVED this The Body Shop event and I cannot wait to attend more Coventry Bloggers events in the future. Again I want to say a massive thank you to Emily for hosting the event, as well as allowing my brummy self to attend. ๐Ÿ˜›

I’m going to pop the Coventry The Body Shop Instagram down below, make sure to go and check them out and let the know I said hi! ๐Ÿ˜€

The Body Shop Banana Body Yogurt – Review

If there’s something I always love writing, it’s an honest review. Whether it be about a good or a bad product, they’re what we look for as people when we buy things and we trust other normies opinions when it comes to that.

I love writing them because I love being honest about a product in every shape and form. Today’s review however will be a good one, a VERY good one.

If there is anyone who is terrible at using body moisturisers, it’s me. I actually HATE using them and always have done for as long as I can remember. I get warm very easily throughout the year so whenever I’ve used anything on my skin I end up getting even warmer and feeling clammy and gross.

Years ago I did give The Body Shop body sorbet (review of the strawberry body sorbet here) a go and loved it, but meh after a while I didn’t actually feel like it was doing much for my skin. It did do great things throughout the summer though. It’d be a perfect product to use on holiday as an after sun.

The Body Shop released their body yogurts not long ago and since their release I’ve heard nothing but good things about them from bloggers and social media users. I wanted to give the strawberry one a go, but only of late have I been more frugal with my money.

The banana range really caught my eye (you can see which goodies I wanted to get here) and as soon as I got the change to go into a store, I made sure to sniff ALL THE BANANA! that sounds so rude… ๐Ÿ˜›

I knew I wanted the shower cream but I wasn’t sure if I would be sold on the body butter and body yogurt. I cannot stand the body butters from The Body Shop. They’re too thick for my skin and are the worst for causing me to feel sticky and gross. This being said, I did in fact pick up a little tub of the banana body butter, which I use on my hands. It’s amazing and really has helped my eczema lately.

I also ended up picking up the body yogurt and since buying it, I have been hooked!

You can only get the body yogurts in one size, that being 220ml and costs ยฃ8.50. Including the banana there are currently 6 scents to choose from. Almond Milk, Banana, Strawberry, British Rose, Moringa and Mango. Apart from banana, I’d love to try the strawberry one in future.

It states on the tub that it is 100% vegan, as it is made with almond milk! Nice one TBS! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Directions are fairly straight forward really.

48H moisturising, instantly absorbing & non-sticky gel-cream. Can be applied on damp skin after your shower. All skin types.

First of all I know what you’re waiting to find out. “What does it smell like?” Now, a sarcastic person would reply, “Bananas, of course!” But deep down, I’ve got you and I know what you mean. In what way does it smell of bananas, it could either smell of sickly sweet foam bananas, the yellow medicine you used to get as a kid or just a regular banana.

The answer is that it smells of fake banana, as in McDonalds banana milkshake, or even Nesquik banana milkshake mix. It doesn’t smell sickly sweet at all and it doesn’t smell like true banana, it’s a nice meet in the middle scent.

The texture of the product is amazing though! As the product states it’s a gel cream, which is what makes it so light weight and cooling to apply. You don’t need a lot either to make the product go a long way! I don’t use this on damp skin though, just because I was always told that moisturiser doesn’t work on damp skin, so meh I just can’t.

Due to how light this is on the skin, it only takes me about five minutes to apply in the mornings and really doesn’t feel like a chore at all! With the warmer weather it also hasn’t left me feeling sticky or clammy throughout the day. However with how warm the weather has been lately it can feel a bit warm in the morning when applying, but that is just due to the heat.

I only use this every other day due to the 48 hour moisturising but I do feel like I could easily use it everyday, especially when winter is here and my skin needs it more than ever!

The scent lasts all day on my skin and I get nothing but compliments from people on the yummy banana scent. I just wish The Body Shop had brought out a body spray and perfume too, as I would LOVE to smell of a banana all day long. ๐Ÿ˜›

Overall, I do really love this body yogurt and I especially love that it’s banana scented. It really has improved my skin in such a short amount of time and if you’re like me and can’t be arsed with the hassle of applying body lotions before work, then you need to give this a go!

If you like a thicker moisturiser then the body butter is definitely one to go for as you’ll still get the same scent with that too!

I would like them to bring out some more scents in these, such as coconut, which is another favourite scent of mine from The Body Shop. I’d also love to see old limited edition scents make a come back, especially raspberry which is another of my favourite scents.

Sadly the banana range is limited edition so their stuff won’t be sticking around for long. If you want to try this, I recommend you try it really soon. There are always some discount codes flying around. I intend to stock up when a sale hits! ๐Ÿ˜›

Have you ever tried The Body Shop body yogurts? If so which one(s) have you tried?

Do you want to give the banana range a try? Have you already? Make sure to tell me all in the comments!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re having a lovely week so far.
