Coventry SS19 Fashion & Beauty Press Day

Almost a month ago I got the chance to go to the SS19 Fashion & Beauty Press Day in Coventry and it was so much fun! I’d booked the day of work especially for the event, which in turn was also the day I found out I’d been offered my new job! Definitely a day for celebrating!

The event was organised by Coventry Bid, who partnered up with Emily who runs Coventry Bloggers (and also her blog The Emily Chapters).

Me and Amy (Writing into the Ether) decided to meet up before the event to go for something to eat and then head to the event together. It was a lovely early afternoon eating Japanese food together and talking about all sorts, from her weekend down in Brighton, to working together on blog posts.

We ventured over to the event and it was much bigger than I thought it was going to be! I’ve only attended one fashion style event before, which in turn was the first blog event I ever went to and by far one of the worst! We won’t go into that though now… 😛

The event was held in The Old Grammar School, a gorgeous church like building that was the perfect location for this event and as you walked in the main section was filled with various high street fashion retailers, some recognisable and some not.

As well as fashion there was a small beauty section located in one of the rooms, which was great but to be honest too small for how many people were at the event. This being said it was amazing for networking! I saw some old and new faces and spoke to loads of bloggers, which was lovely.

We were given a drink upon arrival and after a little introduction to the evening and what it entailed, we were let free to venture around and look at all the clothes coming out for spring and summer 2019!

There were various people there including Milk Vintage Clothing, Marks & Spencer, Topshop, Yours Clothing, Debenhams and more.

I was really disappointed that I never got to have a look at Topshop and what they had on offer. They left early due to a launch/sale the next day. I did go over to the stand to look at what was on offer, but everyone was swarming the area so I couldn’t really get a chance to look, which was a shame.

I have to be honest and say my two favourite stands were Marks & Spencer and Yours Clothing. Now I’m not a plus size lady but I LOVED all the styles that Yours Clothing had on offer for plus size ladies. It’s great that they make fashionable pieces that are up to date with the catwalks but they don’t charge loads for pieces because “they have to use extra fabric”. This is an excuse that most stores out there use and it pisses me off. It’s just bogus and I don’t agree with it at all.

Marks & Spencer were amazing and they were by far my favourite. I actually used to work there for a couple of years and I was always so frustrated at the clothes range and how they’re aimed at older women. They’ve taken a lot on inspiration from massive brands, the one that stands out the most being Chanel. They had some gorgeous pieces that really stood out alongside the other stands in my opinion.

They had a mannequin that was dressed perfect for the office, or an evening out with friends or a partner. They also had a gorgeous tea dress that would be lovely to wear during the later spring months when the weather is starting to get warmer, as well as summer when the weather is gorgeous and an evening in a beer garden is a must!

The piece I loved the most on their stand is their leather slingback shoes which shout Chanel! They had the nude pair on show and I would love to pick them up for work now. They’d look perfect with the tea dress I mentioned and a nice black or navy blazer.

Finally another stand that kept drawing me back to it time and time again was Milk Vintage Coventry. When I was in my early 20’s I was obsessed with vintage clothes and was always down at Cow Vintage in Digbeth. These days that isn’t so much the case, but I do rather like to flick through vintage finds as and when I get the chance to.

I loved the variety of vintage pieces they had on show, but I particularly loved a tartan skirt they had on show! I love wearing tartan trousers (in various colours… Not just the standard red!) which I thought this was when I first saw it. Everyone was commenting on this piece though and I think if these had been on sale at the event, it would have been snapped up straight away! A geeky black tee or a band shirt and some Vans trainers or Converse would look amazing with this in the summer!

Me and Amy ended up going our seperate ways on and off during the event but I walked around with Gemma (Just Gem) who is such a sweetie! I love her so much and she always makes me giggle when I’m in her company. 🙂

However before I lost Amy, we had a good nose around the beauty section and I watched Amy get her makeup down by the gorgeous girls at Benefit. She looks beautiful in the photos I took of her! 😀

I would have had my makeup done by Benefit, but as my readers know, I’m not a makeup wearer. They made all the girls look stunning (even though they did previously!) and gave them a bit of colour with their Cheekleaders Mini Bronze and Mini Pink palettes!

Me and Gemma ventured over to the Clarins section of the room, where they were talking about some of their new skincare, which we also got to take home samples of! I still need to give them a go, I’m really excited for them. 😛

Sadly I can’t remember names, but the woman at Clarins was so thorough about everything and the even tried both of the products on the back of mine and Gemma’s hands.

We got to try the Re-Boost day cream and the Re-Charge sleep mask. They both feel really refreshing and hydrating on the skin and as I said previously, I’ve got some samples to try but as of yet I haven’t give them a go. I will do very soon though and when I do if they feel lovely on the skin I might treat myself to one of them. 🙂

I wanted to get my nails painted as well but it was so busy I just left it in the end, but Amy and Emily (Coventry Life) got their nails done and they looked gorgeous! 😀 They both went for a raspberry pink colour.

We all sort of gathered together as we waited for Amy to get her nails painted and then ventured over to the last beauty stand, which was Dior. This area was incredibly busy and me and Gemma never got the chance to ask what they were talking about and showcasing at the event. However, later on the lady who was in charge of the stand noticed that she hadn’t yet spoken to us and said how she felt bad for missing us. Even though she had packed everything away at this point, she still went out of her way to go and get both me and Gemma a goodie bag with some little bits and pieces in! We both had a sample of their Joy perfume, as well as a mini sample of their Dior Addict Lip Maximizer. I’ve used this product a couple of times now and it’s lovely! It’s nothing to write home about, but it’s good and does me for work. 🙂

Before we all headed home after the event we had loads of selfies! I loved seeing Emily as I hadn’t seen her since before Christmas! She’s such a great person to talk to and always so honest in her blog writing, as well as just her in general. I also love that she collects pin badges like I do! 😛

Overall I had such a fun time at the event! I’m not the most fashionable in the world anymore and I don’t really do much in the world of beauty either, but most of all I loved seeing my blogger girls and just having a good natter with them all!

March was such a crazy month for me and I feel like this event (as well as the news I received earlier on in the day) was just the beginning of the crazy. 😛

Do you love fashion? If so which trends are you looking forward to this spring and summer?

Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time all, take care and I hope you had a lovely weekend.

A Holiday Haul!

I’m sure I mentioned time and time again the past month (or two…) that I would write a holiday haul post when I’d bought all the goodies I wanted for my holiday. It now looks like I’ve bought all the goodies I’ll want (and need for that matter…) for my holiday IN LESS THAN A MONTHS TIME! Oh my, the days, weeks and months have gone by so damn quickly.

I’m not going to lie, I am hella excited for my holiday, but I’m also really nervous all at the same time. I know for a fact I won’t want to come home.

Anyway, I decided to be naughty as soon as pay day hit this month and bought myself quite a few bits and pieces for the holiday… As well as to wear in the UK as and when appropriate… I kind of used the holiday as an excuse to buy things. 😛

I don’t think I’ll be buying anything else for “the holiday” (hahaha :P) but if I do I can always make a second post about that! The only other thing(s) I can see me buying is a new bra for the dress I bought (you’ll see what I mean when I show it off) and maybe a choker.

Right, enough waffle. On with the haul! I’ll talk about things in the order I bought/received them.

  • Sixty Seven Silver Tone Holographic Sliders (no longer available).

Oh sliders, such ugly sandals when covered in fur and pom poms. I’m not a huge fan of wearing sandals, flip flips etc and more than not often opt for Vans when on holiday due to how comfortable and lightweight they are. However, I had a little thing for sliders this year… The none fluffy variety, of course! I had a look everywhere for a holographic pair but couldn’t find a single thing and when I did SEEM to find something decent it was stupidly priced or the colours were a little off.

As I do at least once a week I had a nosey over on TK Maxx and found these beauties! I waited a while to order them, but as sizes below and above my own started to sell out I knew I needed to get on it and get my pair ordered! These cost me £12.99 and retail for £33.99. WOW! They’re amazing though and I’m so glad I bought them! They’re really sturdy and feel like they’ll last a long time. The holographic is sort of matte in colour and doesn’t look too shiny, which I like. They’re not 100% comfortable to be honest and I find they’re rubbing a little on the top of my foot, but I’m hoping this is just them breaking in.

I plan to wear these both in the daytime and the evenings. Everything I’ll be showing off in this video what I bought I’ll probably wear with these sliders. I have to say I hate that they’re called sliders… I know why they are but I dislike it so damn much! I can’t wait to rock these to the beach in my matching bikini! 😛

My camera just wasn’t playing ball with me when trying to take pictures! It looks pretty cool though and shows off all the colours of the glitter really well. 😛

  • Topshop Black Glitter Skater Skirt (no longer available).

I’ve been in need of a new skater skirt for quite a long time now but I just haven’t really seen anything I’ve liked. My previous skater skirt was from Topshop so I decided to have a look on their website for an upgrade, sadly I found nothing. I looked around various high street stores for a while and I remembered the one place I hadn’t even looked for a new skirt, a Topshop one at least. eBay, my holy grail and first place I often look for things I want at a decent price. I found this Topshop skater skirt straight away and I fell in love! It was bidding and considering there was only 2 of us bidding on it, it started on 99p and I did a ninja and bidded with 5 seconds left, I won. I only paid about £2.50 for this including postage.

It’s really gorgeous black skirt with pink, blue gold and silver pieces of glitter running throughout it. It’s a lightweight skirt which is nice as it doesn’t feel heavy at all when wearing it. I’m also glad to say that the glitter is embedded into the skirt itself so when wearing, washing, etc no glitter bits will shed anywhere. I don’t know how much the skirt originally retailed for, but knowing Topshop probably £20-£30.

I’m just so pleased I picked this skirt up as it’s amazing! It does make my bum look bigger than it actually is though due to the way it hangs and I’m not sure if I like this or not. It can be worn as a high-waisted skirt or normal. With my new crop top (which I’ll be talking about last) it looks gorgeous and works really well. If anything it has finally given me the push and courage to wear more crop tops. 🙂

  • Pretty Little Thing Anaiya Multi Tie Dye Denim Short (available here).

Urgh. Just getting this out there that if you have read my recent blog post you’ll know how annoyed at am at Pretty Little Thing and how I don’t recommend them. If you haven’t, here is the link.

That aside I love these shorts, even if they are a little on the snug side. They’re high-waisted denim shorts with a tie dye affect on them. Although not 100% they do have rainbow colors on them. You can see where they originally dyed them blue, pink and yellow only for the colours to run to create green, purple and orange. They look amazing and very eye catching! They’re distressed too which I love, all over the front of the legs and a little on the one back pocket. The pockets in these are really big and deep, which I love! Means you can keep a phone and money on you if you don’t want to carry a bag around.

I’ll be rocking these with my crop top, as well as various t-shirts tucked into it. I tried on one of my black long sleeved t-shirts and I loved how it looked! I’m tempted to take said t-shirt on holiday so I can wear it in the evenings. I’d wear it with either my pair of Star Wars or 101 Dalmatians Vans. Maybe even my DC high tops. I’ll see what shoes I decide to take with me closer to the time. I’ve even looked at wearing my chunky 90’s looking heels, but I’m not sure if I will or not yet.

I know they’re very bright to wear in the UK throughout the whole year (come on let’s face it, our summer lasts all of a week…) BUT I will wear these throughout the year over here. I’ll rock them with band tees, tights and Dr Martens boots for a grunge look. If anything, I can’t wait to when I’m back from holiday! 😛

  • Boohoo Manhattan Hologram Triangle Tie Bikini (available here).

I didn’t need a new bikini and in the end I bought two. Shit. For this holiday I have noticed a pattern of me lusting after things that are either holographic, mermaid scale print or turquoise sequins. This obviously caught my eye (like the little magpie I am…) when browsing around Boohoo. It’s a bog standard triangle bikini BUT OMG IT’S HOLOGRAPHIC AND SHINY AND PRETTY AND OMG! Breathe Nat, breathe.

You can’t go wrong with holographic and when it comes to a hot country where the sun is out most of the time, you definitely can’t go wrong! This is the bikini I’ll wear when tanning on the balcony. It’s the tie at the sides for the bottoms and at the neck and back for the top. As I said, bog standard.

These are still available on the Boohoo website as well as another here which is holographic too. I was tempted to order this one instead/as well as the one I bought but meh. Don’t need ALL THE BIKINIS! xD

I am seriously in love with this picture since taking it!

  • Killstar Pheadra Skater Dress (available here).

The day that Killstar launched this dress for sale on their website I KNEW I had to have it. I’m a massive fan of Killstar and my love of them has grown dramatically this past year. I want NO NEED to own more pieces by Killstar!

This is a skater dress with a mermaid print on, and a pentagram strappy back. This IS NOT a dress I would wear in the daytime, only in the evening when the sun isn’t out and at risk of tanning the pentagram shape into my back. I do not want. 😛 The pictures of this dress don’t do it justice. To me it just looks turquoise on the website but when it arrived I noticed that in the light the dress will shift and go a purple shade. Also as you can see it has a mermaid pattern on it. Oh Nat, you and those mermaid scales! I do like the smaller scales though and it makes a change from the bigger ones I rock on Black Milk Clothing pieces.

My only issue with this dress is I feel it’s too big… But I worry the size down would be too small… Also as amazing as the pentagram shape is on the back, it isn’t practical at all when wearing a bra. As of yet I haven’t got myself a new bra to wear with it yet… I hope I can get one before the holiday.

I know it sounds stupid because with a back like that you’d want to show off the dress, wouldn’t you? Alas this dress actually looks better with a jacket or cardigan over the top. In fact it looks so cute teamed up with my burgundy cardigan! Who’d have thought? I can’t wait to wear this throughout the year in the UK. I’ll definitely have to wear Dr Martens or brothel creepers. 😛

  • Killstar Arabella Halter Top (available here) and Posing Shorts (available here).

The same brand and the same print as the Killstar Pheadra dress. I couldn’t resist not getting this top and shorts. I don’t 100% know if you can swim in them, but damn I’ll give it a go! Nah if anything these won’t be for tanning in due to the top being the way it is, but more for popping out to the beach in for a walk with the shorts or even a pair of shorts over the top. I also wanted to pick these up for pole dancing in as I think they’d be gorgeous!

I do feel a little self conscious in this set due to how out there it is, but at the same time I actually feel really good about my body! I ordered both the top and shorts in the same size as I ordered the dress and whilst I don’t feel they’re too big, I do worry that the top part is a little baggy. I think I just need to get used to the style of it. I plan to try it on a few times at home before we leave for our holiday. I’d gladly wear this with shorts or a skirt with a little jacket over the top for if it’s chilly.

  • Black Milk Clothing Mermemerald Crop Top (no longer available).

Finally we have my last piece of clothing I bought in this haul and to be honest it’s by far my favourite! Everyone knows it, I love Black Milk Clothing and I especially love their mermaid printed pieces. I now own 3 mermaid pieces, including this new addition!

This is a size up from what I usually buy from Black Milk but it doesn’t matter as it fits lovely. It’s the Mermemerald crop top and guess what? It’s discontinued and now a museum item SO IT’S WORTH A FORTUNE! I picked this up second hand off of eBay for about £24.00, which I’m really chuffed about.

I didn’t expect it to be such a bright green when I took it out of the packaging though, but I adore it. At first when I tried it on I put it on the wrong way around. When I worked it out though and put it on properly I just fell in love. I paired it with my shorts, which looked amazing and then I paired it with my skater skirt. A part of me died and went to heaven for how lovely the two looked together. I haven’t felt all that great about my body the past month and more so the past week so to feel confident and nice about myself, I’m so happy. Black Milk seems to always have that affect on me. 😛

I already know I’m going to be wearing this most evenings when out with Dane for drinks and even for a day of shopping! I can’t wait to wear this back at home though to be honest. It’s such a stunning piece and when the weather is crap and gloomy over here, I can see this perking me up. It shifts from green to turquoise in the right light. How amazing!

One of my favourite pictures I’ve taken for such a long time! FYI I’m covering my face because I had some nasty zits on my cheek. YUCK! xD

PLZ DO NOT LOOK IN THE BIN. Nothing in there to hide, but still! xD

I was going to try and merge these four pictures in with the items themselves but it would have just been a mess… Sort of. SO I thought I would add said pictures at the end of the post, so you can see how I would wear some of the pieces together, as well as with other items. 😀

So that is everything I picked up for my holiday! I have so much more crap that I could buy and a part of me still wants to pick up a few more things to grunge up my outfits in the evenings. A choker being the main thing right now really. We shall see…

Have you guys been on your holidays yet? Where did you go?

Also, are there any items in this post YOU own or want to? Let me know all your thoughts and answers in the comments!

Until next time all, take care and I hope your weeks are going well so far.

Last Minute Christmas Ideas

It’s only a week until Christmas now and although myself and Dane have finished our Christmas shopping I know of a lot of people who probably haven’t even started yet! My parents for example leave their Christmas shopping until the last minute.

SO this Christmas ideas list will be handy if you’re like them! This list will cater to men, women, children, and teenagers.

  • Zoella On My Travels Back Pack – £50.00 *currently £30.00* (link)

This is a great present idea for a woman of any age but I would say this is more for a teenager or student, especially if they’re a fan of the YouTube star Zoella, who has teamed up with Boots this year to create some lovely gifts for Christmas. Inside this gorgeous grey backpack you get a ceramic takeaway cup for those hot drinks, a keyring for your keys and some pencils. You can’t really go wrong with something like this. Hell I’d love it but I have enough bags to last me a lifetime. 😛

  • Stormtrooper Decanter – £21.00 (link)

This is the perfect gift for anyone who loves Star Wars, but I would say more so for your boyfriend, brother or even your dad. It’s a decanter which you can pop any alcoholic choice in. I was going to get one of these for Dane and fill it with Jack Daniels, but I left it. BUT you don’t have to fill this with alcohol! You could always buy some cheap battery operated fairy lights and put them into the decanter, leaving the on and off switch outside. This was another idea I had for Dane for Christmas, but again I left it. May have to do it though now as he loves this.

  • Lush Rudy and Pip Gift Set – £11.95 each (link) & (link)

Look how adorable these two little gift sets are! These will make lovely last minute gifts for children and even secret Santa gifts. My favourite of the two is Rudy. If you want to get one or even both of these though you will have to hurry as Lush run out of things like this super quickly as Christmas grows closer.

  • Pokemon Christmas Pikachu Mug – £7.99 (link)

Who doesn’t like to get a mug for Christmas? Or any occasion for that matter! I have eyed this mug up myself many times over December so far but I don’t really need anymore mugs… BUT this would make a great addition to any Pokemon fans cupboard, or even their desk at work! Yeah it’s Christmas themed, but sod that, I’d use it all year around. 😛

  • Chocolate & Peanut Butter Cupcake In A Mug – £9.99 (link)

It’s funny because I’ve actually bought this mug for Dane for Christmas as he spotted it in Lakeland last night and really liked it. It’s also a present he’s received early which is kinda nice. On the mug there is a guide and ingredients as to how to make a chocolate and peanut butter cupcake in the microwave,  which Dane really liked. So this is a definite mug for anyone you know who doesn’t just love cake, but loves anything chocolate and peanut butter flavoured. It also makes an amazing mug for big cups of coffee!

  • Pusheen Shaped Purse – £7.99 (link)

I LOVE Pusheen and although I wouldn’t be bothered about receiving something like this, I know a lot of little girls who would! I loved when I was bought my first coin purse as a little girl. I was able to keep my pennies in there for sweeties and pound shop treats. Pusheen is starting to become a more known thing in the UK now after being out in America for agggges and little girls go crazy for her. So why not get a lovely little coin purse and pop some silver in there for good luck. 🙂

  • Hamster Hottie – £9.00 (link)

I LOVE hotties and I recently bought myself a new one, as well as buying one of my best friends one for Christmas. They’re a lovely gifts to receive for Christmas due to how cold it is, as well as in general! I bought my friend Jacqui hers as it was Gromit, who she loves! But also because I know she would appreciate the warmth of it. I love mine because I like to snuggle it when I have bad period pain, or in bed and on the sofa if I’m chilly and need something to warm me up a little bit. These are great for anyone of any age and you can pick so many different varieties and animals up which is great!

  • Christmas Slipper Socks – £12.00 (link)

This a cheesy Christmas gift, but a nice one if you’re stuck for ideas on what to get a male secret Santa, boyfriend, brother or your dad. I’ve bought these for Dane as his feet are always cold, I wanted something nice/cheesy for him to wear Christmas day and he wanted them! They have cute little bells on which jingle as you walk and some support on the soles so that you won’t slip on wooden flooring (which is handy in our house seeing as all downstairs is wooden floor!). I am just so excited for him to wear these Christmas!

So those are just some of my ideas for some quick last minute Christmas presents! There are hundreds more I could have added to be honest. Check out Boots for some good ideas, as well as your local supermarkets! M&S had a 50% off gifts sale recently, which I’m sure is still on so that is definitely worth checking out!

I hope everyone isn’t stressing too much with presents and even food for next week. Have you finished all your Christmas shopping? If so what was your best purchase this year for someone? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time take care all and I hope everyone is getting excited! Only 7 days now!

August ’16 Wish List

Ha I don’t know why I’m writing a wish list when I have no money to buy anything! I guess that is why it’s called a wish list. 😉 Either way I love making wish lists and skint or not I’m not going to stop making them anytime soon! This one has a couple of home related things on, woohoo.

 photo August 2016 Wish List_zpsutagvef9.jpg

  • Pusheen Handbag Mirror – £6.99 (link)

Recently I broke my handbag mirror, which I was really sad about considering it was a fox one. The mirror has broken in half and it’s currently awkward as hell to apply anything through it. I love Pusheen, have done for years so I am so damn glad that the merchandise is becoming easier to buy in the UK now.

  • Topshop Vinnie Mouse Shoes – £18.00 (link)

I only discovered these today thanks to the Instagram Disney Find! I would like some new flats as the majority of mine are all tattered and old, and who can say no to a cute pair like this that look like Mickey or Minnie Mouse? These aren’t cheap, but Topshop shoes are great quality and I don’t mind paying these sort of prices. I also love how they’re pointed, as I love pointed flats.

  • Deadpool Lanyard – £8.99 (link)

It’s not news that I love Deadpool, so whenever I see Deadpool goodies I want to buy them all! I would like a lanyard for work so I can keep my card on it, as well as my locker key. I don’t know when I’ll pick one of these up, but I intend to as soon as I can really. Can make sure I look cool at work! 😛

  • Marks & Spencer Tailored Fit Boxy Checkered Shirt -£25.00 (link)

I eyed this up recently when I was in M&S and it is beautiful! I think they have their autumn range in stores already going by all the darker colours, and knitwear that they have out for sale at the moment. I love checkered shirts and have gone through many in the past. This one so far has one negative review, so it’d definitely be something I would try on before I buy! I may have to look into picking this up for when September comes with its autumn weather. It would look great with a pair of jeans, or a skirt.

  • Pusheen Round Mug -£7.99 (link)

I think I have already mentioned my love of Pusheen, and it isn’t that I need anymore mugs, as I have loads (mostly Disney ones…) but how can I say no to this Pusheen mug? I know a few people I follow on Instagram who have this mug and it just looks so damn cute! I think I may need to treat myself to this in the future, as it would be lovely to have hot chocolates in with marshmallows and cream!

  • Maybelline Baby Lips Pop Art in Blueberry Boom -£2.99 (link)

I have two out of the three from this collection (you can check out the review for Grapefruit Zing here) so why not get this one too? That and I love blueberry so it’d be silly for me not to pick this up. I can’t find it in stores ANYWHERE so I don’t know if this is an online exclusive. I’ll be making sure to order it in the future, I don’t want to let this one slip through my fingers.

  • Disney Animator’s Collection Princess Mug – £8.99 (link)

I have been waiting for the new Animator Collection to come out in the UK for a couple of weeks now and it has slowly started to make its way over here. YAY! I don’t need anymore mugs, but I love this one. The Princess’s as little toddlers are so damn cute! My favourite one is Pocahontas as she is so damn adorable looking! I’ll probably pick this up too at some point. ^_^

So that is my wish list for August! I need to be good this month as I have spent way too much money lately. I’ll be spending the majority of the month in the house playing games and tidying our things away. Yay!

What do you have on your wish lists this month? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and see you soon!

Photo Diary Adventure – London

I have literally just got back from a trip to London to visit my friend Sophi, and it was very much needed! They house has been very stressful to say the least and my trip to London came up in good time. I booked the trip back in April/May, and due to that it cost me next to sod all! Only £6.00 each way! Can I hear a woo to the motherfuckin’ hoo??!!

Anyway… I decided I would do a little photo diary of my trip down to “the big smoke” (as my dad calls it), because why not?

Due to my anxiety I was really nervous about traveling on my own, but it was really straight forward. I just had to get on a train and sit for just over two hours.

 photo Photo 13-06-2016 10 04 29 am_zpswgdbrosg.jpg

My dad gave me a lift to New Street half an hour before my train was due, which I liked as it gave me time to grab a magazine, a drink (I drink a flat white with vanilla if you were curious), and get to my platform in time to get a good seat.

 photo Photo 13-06-2016 10 34 18 am_zpsdie3zihu.jpg

I managed to grab a good a window seat with a table which was good as it meant I could lean on the table and do some writing. Throughout the journey I did just that whilst listening to my music and wrote some blog posts. I was also talking to a lovely woman from New Zealand throughout the journey, and she was telling me how she had been traveling around Europe for nine weeks, and was getting close to her trip ending.

Finally after the two hour and a bit journey I arrived at London Euston, and was greeted by Sophi up by The Body Shop. YAY! I was pleased that she was able to meet me as I was anxious about getting lost attempted to get out of Euston, or going down to the underground. London does set off my anxiety a tad, even though from this trip I feel more comfortable about it now.

Day I Arrived:

As soon as we met up we decided that food was needed, and went to YO! Sushi for some lunch. We had a good gossip whilst we had our food and it was pretty standard for YO! Sushi really. If you know what I mean.

Soon as we finished our food we headed to the shops, starting off at M&M World. Me and Dane were meant to go there when we were in London last year, but we never did and so I wanted to see what I missed out on! Not going to lie… I didn’t miss much.

 photo Photo 13-06-2016 3 02 05 pm_zpsn3nhvjkw.jpg

 photo Photo 13-06-2016 3 05 47 pm_zpsdxfws9aq.jpg

Don’t get me wrong, M&M World was good and is definitely somewhere you need to go at least once, but the only thing I liked about it was the pictures I got to take with Sophi. A lot of the products for sale were well overpriced and whilst they were nice, I wouldn’t buy them for myself. Only a massive M&M fan will get a kick from this place. Alas, I didn’t. It was cool though, and I loved nosing at all the stuff that they had on offer, especially the create your own M&M’s! But they were extortionate prices so I left it… Otherwise I would have bought some for me and Dane for when we move into the house.

The next shop we popped in was just next door, which is the Nickelodeon Shop. I prayed that they would sell some Adventure Time goodies, but sadly they didn’t. The majority of stuff for sale in there wasn’t anything I was really interested in, such as Spongebob Square Pants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Paw Patrol, and Dora the Explorer. They did have something I was interested in mind, even if the section was only small. The Rugrats selection they had wasn’t very big, with only four pieces of clothing on offer, including the t-shirt that I picked up. I will show it off a lot better on a haul post soon, but I love this t-shirt so much! I loved watched the show growing up, so it has some nostalgia to it.

After that we had a walk around various places all the while including (name of shop) which is an old sweet shop, where I got a few goodies, Hamley’s, Japan Centre, and then we went to Choccywoccydoodah!

Choccywoccydoodah is a chocolate shop that also make cakes. But the store in London has a café at the top of the shop which me and Sophi ventured to for a naughty chocolate lunch. I had never heard of it until she told me about it, and insisted that we go. It was pretty damn amazing to be honest… The café that is! It was all done out and reminded me of Moulin Rouge. We had orange lemonade and some dark chocolate melted in pots with biscuits to dunk. It was a real treat to say the least and I’ll definitely be going again, especially with Dane.

As much as I loved the café upstairs I sadly can’t say I felt the same about the shop downstairs. I’m being honest, but I just found that it looked tacky and was crazily overpriced. I guess I’m just a boring cow and love my cakes plain and simple. Is that such a crime? Although I say this I bought me and Dane some chocolate to try, because why not?

After a spot of chocolate overdose we headed to Oxford Street, what I was most excited about! I don’t know why I love shopping on Oxford Street so much but I have a feelings it’s due to how big the shops are. Of course the first shop we had to go into was Lush, why would I pass that up?!

I had some black pots that I wanted to exchange for a face mask, and I knew for ages that I wanted to give Prince of Darkness a go. A lovely member of staff let me try it, as well as a few other face masks on the back of my hand. I knew I’d like this face mask due to the charcoal, and I cannot wait to try it and now and review it for you guys. Alongside that I also picked up a few other goodies including my Oxford Street favourite Supertramp bubble bar, and the new bath bomb Lava Lamp. I was very good to say the least and didn’t buy more things, even though strangely I didn’t want much more.

 photo Photo 13-06-2016 7 21 30 pm_zpsfyxqrwte.jpg

After this we looked around various other shops on Oxford Street before our final destination being Topshop. Oh my God, it was huge, I couldn’t believe it to be honest. The floor you walk into is just nothing but accessories, no clothes or anything. I was taken back by how much stuff there was on the floor, including a Bubbleology, and a Lola’s Cupcakes. We bought some bubble tea from there to drink, and I’m not going to sugar coat it, the staff were rude and it wasn’t made properly. I drink bubble tea a lot and watch how it’s made, so I know when it’s been right or not.

 photo Photo 13-06-2016 7 35 41 pm_zpsflnuvyna.jpg

Other than that, I wasn’t completely disappointed by my trip into the Oxford Street Topshop. I ended up buying a real treat from there that I will love for years, my new yellow raincoat. YES I said yellow! 😛 I will talk more about it in my haul that will be up in a few days, but I wore this for the majority of my stay in London, and it was so cosy, and warm, and of course was waterproof for all the crap rain we had down there. I cannot wait to do some look book posts with it.

After that we finally decided to call it a day and headed home. We stayed up until late nattering away about all sorts, as well as planning what we could do the next day!

Day One:

I woke up bright and early for the long, and exciting day ahead of us. In fact I woke up a whole two hours before Sophi did! It was because a delivery van woke me up and I couldn’t get back to sleep so I decided to text Dane for a while as he got ready for work, and was at the house. I also sorted out my suitcase by putting stuff in there what I had bought the day before.

 photo Photo 14-06-2016 12 31 43 pm_zpsptqv9kqz.jpg

The weather wasn’t exactly amazing whilst I was down there and the majority of the time it rained… The full day I was there wasn’t any different and it rained a lot! Good job I had my new raincoat, eh? 😛

 photo Photo 14-06-2016 1 01 47 pm_zps5qeb0atj.jpg

Something I loved about getting the train from where Sophi lives (Harlow) is on the way into London you can see the gherkin, and The Shard! I had to of course get a sneaky picture of this.

 photo Photo 14-06-2016 1 34 28 pm_zpsvxq9t5wp.jpg

We had already decided months before that we would be going shopping at the Stratford shopping centre, but not until we had gone to Bubba Gump Shrimp for lunch! I wanted to go when me and Dane were in London but as never really got time, and we worried we wouldn’t like what was on the menu, as he isn’t a massive fan of fish.

I really enjoyed going there, and I loved the food we shared too. Sophi had been before, she knew what to recommend for us to eat. When I had looked at the menu back when I ordered my train tickets I decided on a chicken burger, but what’s the point in going to a shrimp restaurant if you eat chicken??? Exactly! In the end I decided on a cherry fizzer drink, and for food we ordered garlic bread (which let me tell you were HUGE!), shrimp shack mac & cheese, and Forrest’s seafood feast.

 photo Photo 14-06-2016 1 46 34 pm_zpsb4gnm7zp.jpg

Not only did I enjoy the food, but I loved the decor of the restaurant too! To make it better, they had Forrest Gump playing in the background, which I loved. It isn’t the cheapest place in the world, but £39 for two people and drinks wasn’t bad in my eyes. I would and will gladly go again.

 photo Photo 14-06-2016 4 08 03 pm_zpsaqqnwehf.jpg

So our next stop was the Stratford shopping centre! Which I was really excited to go to as I have heard nothing but good things about it from Sophi, and I also heard how big it is before I went down to London. If you’ve never been, it is like two Birmingham Bullring’s, if not bigger than that!

I saw various things I liked and wanted to buy, and various things I liked and ended up being naughty and picking up. These are in my haul post here.

The one thing I really regret not picking up was this Deadpool picture from HMV. I can’t even find it on the website to order! As I always say on majority of my posts these days, I love Deadpool, and so does Dane. I would love this picture to put up in the spare room, as it would just look awesome! It wasn’t cheap at £14.99, but to be honest I don’t mind paying that for Deadpool. I can see me picking this up next time I’m near a HMV.

I also eyed up this Totoro bento box in The Japan Centre, but I didn’t get it because of the size of it, and I don’t really need it. It was only £12.99, so maybe next time I’ll pick one up!

Then after I was shopped out and very tired, me and Sophi headed home (aka her flat) and relaxed for the evening. We had something to eat, and watched Lilo and Stitch before we went to bed. I was shattered so we got an early night. Before I went to sleep I tidied my suitcase so that I wouldn’t need to do it the  next day.

Going Home:

It was time to head home, and as my train wasn’t due to leave until 2.13pm it meant we could chill out for a while in the flat before heading into London. We didn’t do much really, just made sure my bag was all packed and such, as well as have some breakfast and get showered and dressed.

We left the house nice and early to make sure we were in Euston for time to have a coffee before I left and a chat. We popped to Starbucks and Sophi treated me to their new S’Mores drink (which was really nommy!) and a toastie. I showed her Bee & Puppycat, and we chatted about what she could do with the rest of her day.

Eventually it came to be time for me to get onto my train, and I was really sad to be saying goodbye. I had an amazing couple of days with Sophi, and I honestly cannot wait to do it again soon!

My train journey wasn’t as quiet as it was going into London, and I couldn’t wait for people to get off at stops so I could just chill out. I was going to try and get a blog post or two written, but in the end I just played games on my phone and listened to music.

Eventually I got back to New Street, and good ol’ Brum with my dad waiting to pick me up.

As much as I loved London and seeing Sophi, I just wanted to get back home so I could give Dane his box of goodies, as well as start working on the house again. It was nice to have a break and escape reality for a while, but you can’t run away forever.

I’m hoping to go down to London again soon to stay with Sophi, as it’s just too much fun to wait until Christmas to go again! I also apologise for not having so many pictures towards the end of this post, I was kinda too busy to take anymore. 😛

I’m hoping to start doing more photo diary related posts, as I love reading things like this myself. Did you enjoy this style of post from me? Make sure to let me know in the comments! If you liked it, I’ll certainly do more.

Until next time, take care all and I hope you have a great weekend.

London Haul

 photo Photo 19-06-2016 9 04 53 pm_zps72nthk0b.jpg

Wow what a long week it has been since returning from London! Of course I do apologise for how quiet I have been the past two weeks, but as I said on my Twitter account, I have been way too busy with the house to think or have time to do anything with my blog. Sorry about this, but I know that my regular readers understand, and for this I love you all and thank you as much as I can!

I have just got back from London after visiting my good friend Sophi, and I had an amazing time! I ended up spending more than I intended to as we went shopping around London, as well as in Stratford shopping centre. So I thought why not show all my lovelies what I bought down in the smoke!

I said from the start of my trip to London that I wouldn’t buy any clothing, as I don’t need any, but I found that was the majority of what I bought. Oops! I picked up three t-shirts, and a coat.

 photo Photo 19-06-2016 9 09 14 pm_zpsqknekfma.jpg

 photo Photo 19-06-2016 9 09 20 pm_zps7salqyz3.jpg

The first t-shirt I picked up was this Rugrats Reptar one from the Nickelodeon shop in London. It wasn’t cheap to be honest at £20, but I thought it would make a nice treat and was a real throwback to my childhood as I loved watching Rugrats growing up. So much so that I still watch it to this day if I fancy a bit of a nostalgia trip. As you can see it’s a purple t-shirt, with Reptar on, as well as his name in metallic pink writing. You can pick this up online here.

The second and third t-shirts that I bought were both from HMV, not usually a place you would think sold clothing. They do sell t-shirts though, usually relating to bands, TV shows, movies, and games, etc. You get the point! These two t-shirts were both £12.99 each, however HMV have an offer where you can buy two for £20, which is a bargain really! So of course I took them up on that offer, because it would have been rude not to.

 photo Photo 19-06-2016 9 12 08 pm_zpsaefwhead.jpg

The Harley Quinn one is to coincide with The Suicide Squad, as it’s meant to be the same as the t-shirt she wears in the movie (which FYI I am excited to see when it comes out!). I just love the design of it, it’ll be something nice to rock in the summer with shorts… Like Harley Quinn really! A girl I work with (Hi Rhi! ^_^) has this t-shirt too, and I heard about it from her before my trip to London. As you can probably gather this is a woman’s t-shirt. Sadly any men out there who want it won’t find it in HMV. I would have linked back to this for people to look into buying from HMV, but it isn’t on the website sadly.

I also picked up a Deadpool t-shirt from HMV. It had to be done, as I LOVE Deadpool and I knew whilst I was in London I wanted to pick up some Deadpool goodies, or at least one. This was the only thing I actually managed to pick up, and I don’t regret it. This is a pretty straight forward tee with just a picture of Deadpool with his arms folded, nothing spectacular or special. I don’t mind that to be perfectly honest. This is a mans tee, sorry ladies they don’t have any specifically for us! I don’t mind this though as I picked up a smaller size so it would fit snug on me. You can find this on the website, and I have linked it here for you.

As well as the two t-shirts I picked up from HMV I also bought myself a few other things, not clothing related. I picked up these Kurt Cobain pin badges for my backpack, as during my trip to London I decided that I would start to use it again more often. I love Nirvana and Kurt so I though it would be cool to get some badges with his face on them. These were a steal at £3.99 and I can’t wait to pop a few on my backpack. I also picked up a DVD copy of Forrest Gump after visiting Bubba Gump Shrimp. It’s a film I’ve been meaning to buy and add to my collection for some time now, as it’s one of my favourite films. I put it on for me and Dane to watch when I got back from London, and I cried so many times that I ended up losing count. Oh dear. 😦 It was another bargain at only £2.99!

 photo Photo 14-06-2016 11 51 00 am_zps497ei0su.jpg

My favourite purchase of my trip to London was definitely my new coat, a yellow raincoat! I have been after one of Topshop’s raincoats for years now, and every time I saw one I liked the look of it seemed to sell out really quickly, if not straight away. I saw this one in the Oxford Street store and decided to grab it with both hands before I was never able to buy one again! I’ve bought it two sizes too big for me so it didn’t feel snug, but instead was more roomy and baggy. Reason being so that in autumn and winter I can layer up and not feel uncomfortable. I found from wearing it around London for a couple of days that this coat is incredibly warm, and will be perfect for rainy days! The hood is huge which I’m really pleased about, as I love any jacket, coat, or hoodie was a hood that swamps my whole face. I can’t wait to wear these with my Jake Dr Martens boots (you can read about them here) as they’re both yellow and will look amazing! With all this rain we’ve been having they’ll work perfectly together. Yay! You can fine this raincoat on Topshop’s website here.

I mentioned before that I went to Bubba Gump Shrimp whilst in London and shortly after having a meal there with Sophi, I decided I wanted to get some goodies from the gift shop. Before heading down the restaurant gave us our blue flashing glasses that we’d had drinks in. As Sophi already had a blue glass already, she kindly gave me hers so that me and Dane could have one each in the house. I love that she does things like that! I also bought two pint glasses from the gift shop, which were meant to be two for £10, but the guy only charged me £5.98 for two. I didn’t say anything and accepted how cheap they were! One is going to be for my dad whenever he comes to visit me at the house, and the other for myself and Dane to use whenever. They’re just bog standard pint glasses, which will come in handy for pop, beer, etc. By the way I do apologise for the pint glasses still being wrapped up. I don’t want to open them until me and Dane have moved into the house. But you all know what a pint glass looks like anyway! 😛

 photo Photo 19-06-2016 9 14 46 pm_zps54tgodcb.jpg

Of course I couldn’t go down to London and not pop into the Lush on Oxford Street. That would just be out of order, and it was one of the last shops me and Sophi popped into on my first day in London. I had promised Dane (and myself) that I wouldn’t buy anything… But I caved in and ended up buying two things. DOH! I took in five empty black pots and bagged myself a free pot of The Prince of Darkness face mask, which I was super happy about! I haven’t used it yet, but I hope to soon.

The two products I bought were Supertramp bubble bar, which is an exclusive to Oxford Street, and their newest bath bomb Lava Lamp (link here), which Oxford Street did release when they first opened last year, but discontinued it shortly after. I imagine to work on a better formula and scent for it… Who knows! Either way I thought I was going to go crazy and want to buy more, but alas I only really wanted to get my favourite exclusive, that being Supertramp, and I’ve always wanted to try Lava Lamp. I’ll be giving them a go soon enough and reviewing them. Woop!

 photo Photo 19-06-2016 9 22 52 pm_zpsmrlcrylv.jpg

The majority of the rest of things I bought were food and drinks related, either Japanese or American. I said that I would be coming back with loads of Japanese snacks, but I didn’t really think about bringing this much back! Boy do I have a lot to show…

 photo Photo 19-06-2016 9 22 58 pm_zps0zejm2ws.jpg

All my Japanese goodies are mostly from Japan Centre, but I also grabbed some stuff from an independent Japanese supermarket too. I bought two types of Pocky, banana and matcha (green tea), my two favourites! They cost less than a £1 each so I bought two of each, because why not! I also bought some random goodies too such as Pokemon wafers, a panda wafer, as well as three bottles of ramune soda! One is missing however due to me and Dane drinking it… Oops!

I also bought plenty of American sweets, mostly blue raspberry flavoured as they have always been my favourite. Just loads of random things. These were mostly from Gobstoppers in Stratford shopping centre, and I’m just going to say that I will never go there again. I will try the one in Birmingham to see what it’s like, but I judged the Stratford one so hard. They were selling out of date stock from over a year ago, AT FULL PRICE, the staff were rude, and they charged ridiculous prices for things you can buy in Asda for 99p. A complete joke, and I won’t be going there again…

 photo Photo 19-06-2016 9 23 02 pm_zpsrumn1bnv.jpg

Another sweet related place I bought stuff from was the legendary Choccywoccydoodah, which I had never heard about until my friend Sophi told me about it. We ventured into the cafe there, which was amazing, and to be honest (for me) the best part about it. The shop itself was lovely, with some beautiful creations, but at the same time I do feel like it was really tacky… Sorry (I’m not sorry…)! I ended up buying some chocolate, one little slab of dark (which you can buy here), and a larger slab of chocolate with green tea flavour (which you can buy here). I’m excited to try these, as the dark chocolate we had in the cafe was gorgeous! It was ridiculously overpriced to be honest, and I doubt I’ll ever buy anything from there again. I feel bitchy saying that, but it just seems a rip off for what you’re getting, especially when I’m not a huge chocolate lover anyway.

 photo Photo 19-06-2016 9 28 34 pm_zpsiff9tlm0.jpg

Apart from the goodies that I also picked up for Dane (a Fallout 4 Dogmeat Pop Vinyl!, a book, and some sweeties) that is all I bought! My friend Sophi gave me and Dane one of the nicest moving in presents we have received so far, with it being matching Disney mugs! Lady and The Tramp for me, and Stitch for Dane. We love them, and will be using them lots when we move into the house. She also gave me a medium Pink Sands Yankee Candle that she didn’t want, as well as a Charity Pot lotion from Lush that she didn’t want either. All the goodies! I intend to give her something very soon as a thank you for having me stay at hers whilst we were in London. That and it’s her birthday soon!

So that was all the stuff I bought whilst in London! I wish I could have ventured to more places that sold Japanese related things, but that will be for next time.

What have you bought nice for yourself lately? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time take care all, and I hope you’re having a good week.

April ’16 Wish List

Oh hello April, you’re here early?! Easter has come and gone, and the kids are currently on their Easter holiday’s still. Spring is officially here too, the clocks have gone forward, and people are moaning about not getting any sleep. Oh wow is them! 😛

I’m still on a spending ban, and apart from buying my boyfriends birthday presents last month, I have been really good so far! Alas, a spending ban doesn’t stop me from creating my monthly wish list, so here is it for month number four of the year.

 photo April 2016 Wish List_zps15jvjrnz.jpg

  • Pokemon I Love Mew Plushie – £27.55 (link)

I remember these cute plushies being announced back before the start of 2016 and I just KNEW that I would need one in my life, mostly this one pictured about. The little cutie is giggling with its eyes closed and hands on its cheeks. I don’t think these are very big plushies, which is nice for popping on the side, or on your bed. There are various people on eBay selling these, at various different prices, and from mostly Japan. I love Mew, they’re my favourite Pokemon (alongside the Eeveelutions) so I kinda need one of these in my life. Childish as it may be, I don’t care. Life is short!

  • Deadpool Pewter Keyring – £4.50 (link)

I love Deadpool… I think people who come onto my blog know this from just reading my profile alone! I loved Deadpool before it was cool by the way 😛 I don’t like to hoard keyrings, this is something I used to do when I was younger and I’ve grown up from that now! I’ve been looking for a pewter Deadpool keyring for ages, and as of yet I haven’t been able to find one. Whilst my hunt for one has somewhat come to a stop, at the same time I’m still waiting, as this is out of stock at Forbidden Planet. OH WOE IS ME! This was actually one of the items I would have bought for my boyfriends birthday, but alas I wasn’t able to.

  • Lady and The Tramp Boypants – £4.00 (link)

There is a lot of Lady and The Tramp items in this wish list this month… I don’t know why! For once there just seems to be a lot of said items on the market at the moment… Which makes me happy! I have enough knickers to last me a life time, but I just can’t say no to anything with these two cuties on. Topshop don’t only do their 3 for £10 on their knickers, but they also do student discount. So whilst I’m meant to be on a spending ban, I may just have to treat myself to these very soon. You can never have enough knickers!

  • Reese’s Pajamas – £25.99 (link)

Just want to first of all say, these are from Primark but as I rarely go out shopping anymore and don’t step foot into Primark when I do, I’m having to resort to eBay for these. I love Reese’s peanut butter cups. Fattening, but oh so yummy! I know loads of people who love them too, and I’ve made my own “healthy” versions of the yummy snack. In the summer last year I picked up some short pajamas from Primark with the same Reese’s logo on. I love the look of these pajamas as they look snug and comfortable, with the awesome Reese’s logo all over the bottoms. I could just buy the bottoms for £14.99 but for another £11.00 I may as well get the whole set.

  • Lady and The Tramp Letters Mug – £7.99 (link)

As I have previously stated, I love Lady and The Tramp so when I saw that The Disney Store had a new mug up for sale, I just fell in love. I want to order it as soon as I get paid from work, or at least pop into the store and pick it up, alongside the Eve mug, which I’ll be talking about shortly. I love Disney mugs, and whenever I get my own house that’s pretty much what all my mugs are going to be! xD

  • Billabong Iti Jacket in Black Cherry – was £96.00 now £48.00 (link)

I am after a new jacket for spring and summer. I fancy something red or yellow. 😛 This is a winter jacket to be honest, but I still really like the look of it for autumn and winter time! It is pretty damn expensive at £48.00, so I am keeping my eye on it to see if it’ll go down even further. I’ve seen this in person and it is a gorgeous jacket and one that is perfect for seeing you from season to season. I love it in the black cherry colour, it’s a gorgeous colour and something different. You can also pick it up in Off Black and Grunge Green, so if you like the look of it but want a different shade to the dark red, you have a couple of options.

  • Shades of Kawaii: A Cute Colouring Book – £4.99 (link)

I LOVE colouring books, and recently me and Dane spend out evenings and days off colouring in together, and watching movies. They’re just so damn relaxing to do, and we just both enjoy doing them together. He has a Deadpool one which I bought him, and I have three, a dog one, a seasons one, and an animals one. Yeah, I have enough to last me a lifetime… But I’m sucker for anything Japanese and kawaii, so of course I really like the look of this colouring book. I can see us doing more and more colouring over the next couple of months.

  • Eve 3D Mug – £9.95 (link)

The other mug I said I was going to talk about from The Disney Store. I have the Wall-E mug that goes with this one, and when I finally get my own house I really want to get this mug so that I have the cutest (and my favourite) Disney Pixar couple ever. I love my Wall-E mug and how it’s a square shape, so it’d be nice to get this one too, which is a more “normal” shape. Perfect for hot chocolates, and cups of tea. It is more on the pricey side, but sod it. We only live once.

  • Lady and The Tramp Socks – £3.50 (link)

The final item on my wish list that I’ll be talking about is of course Lady and The Tramp themed. Oh boy! 😛 As you can see, they’re these lovely ankle socks, again from Topshop like the boyshorts. I don’t really need any socks, but meh I can’t deny these! Like the knickers Topshop do an offer on socks, 3 for £8 so I think I may have to take up this offer when I buy the knickers. 😛

So that was my wish list for April! I’m still on my spending ban, but I may have to treat myself to a couple of things on this list, it depends how I feel, and also how my bank account feels. 😛

What do you have on your wish lists for April? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’ve had a great weekend.

Boxing Day Sale Haul

I can’t believe how fast the past couple of weeks have flown by! It only felt like yesterday that we were celebrating Christmas, than New Year, and yesterday it was my birthday. I have so many posts I need to write-up, but I’ve just been so busy with the celebrations, as well as work, and spending time with loved ones. So in hindsight I’m only just able to write about what I picked up in the Boxing Day sales! I have so many posts to get sorted, so please be patient with me over the rest of the week as I’m busy with work all weekend.

I mentioned in a post on Christmas Eve about what goodies I was contemplating or had even already bought in the Boxing Day sales. One of the main things I bought caused me so much hassle I nearly rang customer service and had a massive bitch out at them… But I was calm and collected (surprising for me in situations like this!) and I got the problem sorted. That item I shall talk about first, to get it out-of-the-way.

  • Topshop Two-in-One Velvet Cord Playsuit – £60.00 (link)

It took a while to get this playsuit to my home, and safely in my wardrobe but it was definitely worth it! As I mentioned on my post-Christmas Eve, I had my eye on this playsuit during my holiday, as I saw it being advertised in a magazine. When I got home I got onto the Topshop website as soon as I could, and was sad to see it was sold out. So I had a look in some stores, and they had sold out too. I scanned Depop and eBay, but everyone was charging a fortune. So on Christmas Eve I had a look on the Topshop website again and there it was, back in stock! So with my student discount, and a £20 gift voucher, I ordered it. It cost me £34 instead of £60, which I was really happy about.

However, I soon encountered a few issues when it arrived… 1. It was too small, which was pretty upsetting to be honest, for obvious reasons. No one likes feeling like a fatty! 2. The playsuit arrived damaged. Something had ripped the bag it was packaged in, which had gone through to the playsuit itself and caused it to rip and be covered in mud. 3. It hadn’t even been packaged properly and was clearly one that had been sent back and re-sold to me. I’m not a snob by all means, but damn at least make it look presentable! These were all annoying, and frustrating issues, so as soon as I could I emailed AND tweeted Topshop about it with complaints. The complaints department fobbed me off with the email I received by saying, “Sorry you better take it back to a Topshop store to be looked at, and exchanged.” which made the situation even more annoying than it already was. I was going to make a complaint about it, but it’s past now and I have my new playsuit. However, the people who I spoke to via the Twitter page were amazing! They offered me some compensation by saying I could have free express delivery, AND 10% off. I asked if I could still use my student discount on the playsuit, and they said yes! It was incredibly generous of them, especially considering I only paid £28 for the playsuit in the end, including my £20 voucher and 20% off.

So I am now the proud owner of this playsuit and I cannot wait to wear it out soon. I intend to dress it up with some knee-high socks, and some flats for a cute Japanese school girl look. I might just throw my fedora on for good measure.

  • New Look Back Ribbed Cold Shoulder Long Sleeve Top – £8.99 (link)

Sorry I don’t have a picture of this… 😦 I originally ordered two t-shirts from New Look, but I ended up returning the one as it didn’t fit properly. It was extremely annoying to be honest, as on the picture online on the model it looked like a normal length. But when I got it and tried it on, it was more like a crop top. This is due to me having boobs… Big ones at that. The t-shirt was rolling up whenever I lifted my arms in the air. Once again, like the Topshop playsuit it left me feeling less confident about my weight and body, and more like a potato.

However the t-shirt I kept fit beautifully and I’m wearing it right now to be honest. I’ve been after a cold shoulder top for years! Since I first saw my friend Faye (HI FAYE!) wearing one back when I first met her nearly three years ago (wow time flies!). So I’m glad to finally have one of my own. I expect a fashion addiction to start-up soon, especially as I now have my eye on other cold shoulder items from New Look… This wasn’t in the sale, but it was still a bargain at £8.99 and they come in four different colours too! May have to pick up that burgundy one soon.

  • The Body Shop Frosted Plum Shower Gel – £2.00 down from £4.00 (link)

I wanted to try this shower gel all over the Christmas period that it was out in store, but I never got around to it… I was trying to save money, and use up products I already had accumulated in my cupboard. As Christmas loomed I found most of my shower gels had gone, and I needed more. So I thought, “sod it for £2.00 it won’t break the bank!” so I ordered it. It’s a lovely shower gel, that with a little it goes a hell of a long way! It has a fruity, yet floral scent to it which I really enjoy, but my boyfriend doesn’t like. I wish I had picked up the Frosted Apple scent now, but hey ho. Can’t have them all (well I could… It’s still available to buy…)!

  • The Body Shop Africa Ximenia & Salt Scrub – £7.5o down from £15.00 (link)

I have used this body scrub since buying it, and wow it is amazing! I don’t think there will be any body scrub to top this and that is just after one use. This is a very thick scrub, which is more like a wax consistency (it isn’t wax!) and a little bit of it really does go a long way. I’ve hardly touched mine. I already know I will be repurchasing this scrub as it has really helped my skin already, and it smells amazing too! I can’t wait to review this in the future. Even at £15.00 this is definitely worth the money.

  • Boots Soap & Glory Get A Smooth On – £17.50 down from £30.00 (link)

I popped into Boots to get some essentials for myself, but I ended up picking up this gift set after having my eye on it for a while. I was close to ordering this online when I ordered my Christmas Eve Yankee Candle but I wanted to be good and not order too much. I eventually decided to pick this up for various reasons, the main one being that I needed a new weekend bag desperately! It’s a gorgeous silver holographic bag, which is pretty roomy to be honest. I used it for New Years when me and my boyfriend went to our friends for the evening, and everything fit in there perfect. I also love the Sugar Crush collection by Soap & Glory, and so does my boyfriend who has been using the shower gel loads since I bought this set. I’ve used the shower gel, and the body scrub before but never the body spray, and buttercream until now. I love the spray, and have been using it for work.

  • Boots Yankee Candle Large Jar in Christmas Eve – £10.99 down from £21.99 (link)

I’ve been after this candle for years, probably 6 or 7 years now… Boy has that flown by! It was a complete steal at £10.99, and I was tempted to buy another Yankee Candle too as they had Christmas Cookie and Snowflake Cookie for the same prices, but I left the last two as my boyfriend admitted he had bought one of them for my birthday (you’ll find out soon which!) so I just bought Christmas Eve. I can’t wait to burn it soon.

So that’s everything I picked up in the sales! I don’t think I did too bad in hindsight. I did buy some goodies from Lush, but that’s for a separate post coming up soon, so keep your eyes peeled for that.

What did you manage to pick up in the sales? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

Until next time, take care all.

January/Birthday ’16 Wish List

Is it my birthday in three days… I’ll be turning 26 and this saddens me. I am getting older, and with the years not only do I gain another wrinkle, another grey hair, and a saggier body, but I also gain other things. But we will leave that for another post because I now feel inspired to write it!

Back to this post however… With a new year, and a new month, comes a new wish list! A birthday one with that. I don’t really feel like I want much after Christmas, but I will try my best to try and come up with some things that I would love to receive, or buy for myself with birthday money.

So, list time! I love making these. ^_^

  • Topshop Lady and the Tramp Pyjamas – £28.00 (link)

As soon as I heard about these pyjamas being available to buy I instantly though “NEED IN MY LIFE!”. I love Lady and the Tramp, it’s by far one of my favourite Disney movies, so I’m a complete sucker for these of course. They’re pretty expensive for what they are to be fair, and whilst I have enough pyjamas to last me a life time, I may just treat myself to some more new ones, or ask for them for my birthday. We shall see.

  • Amazon The Hobbit Trilogy – Extended Edition Blu-ray – £44.00 (link)

I LOVE The Hobbit… More so than Lord of The Rings, but I put this down to me going to see all The Hobbit films in the cinema, I was never allowed to do this with Lord of The Rings as a child/teenager. I own The Lord of The Rings Trilogy Extended Edition Blu-ray’s so I have been eagerly waiting for The Hobbit’s one to be released so I could buy them all. I intend to have a marathon of this as soon as I get them. If no one buys me this for my birthday, I’ll soon buy it for myself… Possibly whilst my boyfriend is on holiday so I can marathon them the weekend he’s due to leave.

  • Amazon Sword Art Online: Lost Song Playstation 4 game – £24.99 (link)

As I mentioned on a post recently, I now have a PS4 and I love it so much! I really would love to get some more games for it, and this is one I have my eye on, out of many! Me and my boyfriend got to demo this game whilst we were at Hyper Japan and I really liked it! There are many more games out there I would have asked for instead, like Life is Strange, but this isn’t released for another 20 days yet! I love the Sword Art Online anime, and I really want to read the manga, so the game is right up my street!

  • AnimUK Animal Crossing Isabelle Nendoroid – £32.99 (link)

I’ve spoken various times in the past about Nendoroid’s and how much both me and my boyfriend love, and collect them. I wanted the Animal Crossing Isabelle figures ages ago, but they sold out and go for a lot of money now. However, they’ve re-released one of the two, and I intend to get one before they go again! It isn’t expensive either, and AnimUK are a great place to go to for Nendoroid’s as they don’t charge you for the custom fees that the official Good Smile Company shop do.

  • Loungefly Star Wars Boba Fett Brown Wallet – $38.00 (link)

I don’t NEED a new wallet, but I would really like a new one… I love the fox one I have by Loungefly but I fancy a change for some reason, and this Boba Fett wallet is one I’ve had my eye on for a while. It isn’t cheap however, and is impossible to get hold of in the UK without paying through the teeth for it from America. I’ll have to see if I REALLY want it.

  • GAME Sony PlayStation DUALSHOCK®4 Wireless Controller Darth Vader Edition – £49.99 (link)

With my new Playstation 4 I’ll need another controller for it so that my boyfriend can play games with me! I really wanted the limited edition Darth Vader PS4, but 1. it was too much money, and 2. it was sold out anyway so… The controller is probably the nicest part of the console itself, so the fact you can buy the controller is pretty awesome! It isn’t cheap, no but it’ll be worth it! I’d use this one, and my boyfriend could have the normal controller… Because he isn’t special enough for the Darth Vader one, of course. 😉

So that’s my wish list for my birthday, and January! I can’t believe I’m going to be 26 in just three days. Damn I’m getting old. 😛

What’s on your wish list for January? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and see you soon.

Christmas Eve Shopping!

As many of you will know (or might not if you are hiding under a tinsel covered rock) Christmas sales start early now, instead of starting Boxing day they now start Christmas Eve. Soon they will start in October! It’s my day off work, so whilst lying in bed watching a movie I decided to order myself a few goodies from the sales. I tell a teeny lie there as I have one item here that wasn’t sale, but I saved £26.00 on it. I’ll go into more detail on that.

As well as what I have managed to pick up so far (which isn’t much but my bank account is crying) I’ll also be sharing some things I hope to pick up in the next couple of days.

The top row is items I have bought, and the bottom items I hope to pick up. Enjoy!

Boxing Day Sales

  • Topshop Two-in-One Cord Playsuit – £60.00 (link)

I’ve been after this playsuit since my holiday, as I saw it being advertised in a magazine. I just fell in love with it, and knew I had to have it. When I got back to the UK I searched for it online and had zero luck, it sold out pretty quickly due to it being worn by a singer (can’t remember her name, nor the band she sings in) as well as by a model (again don’t know her name). So when I was out doing some last Christmas shopping last weekend I asked in Topshop if they had any in stock, to which I was told no, and there wasn’t any left in Birmingham either. Gutted! I was just browsing this morning online and I found it! In my size! Sadly this isn’t in the sale, but I do have my student discount which saved me £6.00, as well as a £20.00 gift voucher from a customer at my old job gave me as a leaving present, so I snapped this beauty up for just £34.00! I’m so glad I have managed to pick this up! This being said, there are a lot of negative reviews about this, mostly to do with the zip being faulty… I’m hoping I’ll be lucky and be sent a decent one. If not this will either need to go back, or I’ll have to fix it myself. Either way a very pissed off Nat will be down to Topshop! I really want 2016 to be the start of me dressing up again, as lately I haven’t given much of a damn, just throwing on a pair of baggy jeans, a baggy t-shirt, baggy hoodie, and my Vans. Which isn’t necessarily a bad look, and I feel lovely wearing this… But I always gain loads of compliments when I dress nice. So why the hell not? I hope to have my first 2016 lookbook featuring this dress, for my birthday.

  • Boots Yankee Candle Large Jar in Christmas Eve – £10.99 down from £21.99 (link) (Yankee Candle link)

I’m just going to quickly vent some mild frustrations at this purchase… Yankee Candle’s UK website actually have this down at £8.80 in the sale… It isn’t much money no, but still it is annoying. However, this isn’t annoying if you want to pick up this deal, as Boots have sold out! Yankee Candle still have some of these left which is good. It was a choice between Christmas Eve, Christmas Cookie, or Snowflake Cookie. I know I have one of the last two for Christmas as I got my boyfriend to choose which one I was going to buy. I cannot wait to burn this now, I’ve been after it for years!

  • The Body Shop Africa Ximenia & Salt Scrub – £7.50 down from £15.00 (link)

I quickly went past this whilst browsing what The Body Shop had on offer in their half price sale. I need a new body scrub so I thought I’d have a look over it. I recently bought a peach and lemon body scrub from The Body Shop and it is safe to say, they were rubbish! The lemon one somehow got into my hair and ruined it for about a week! Leaving it feeling like it was constantly full of hair gel. Not impressed! So I checked out the reviews for this one, and they were all positive, so I added it to my basket! It comes in a really lovely resealable jar too, which I’ll be using to make my own coffee body scrub in future.

  • The Body Shop Frosted Plum Shower Gel – £2.00 down from £4.00 (link)

I really like The Body Shop shower gels, they’re a real treat for me so whenever they have their shower gels on sale I always pick one up. Frosted Plum is a scent that has appeared back for Christmas after a long time of being M.I.A. and I cannot wait to try it. I don’t think I’ve given it a sniff in store either, which is a surprise to me, especially seeing as I’ve been into The Body Shop loads recently. This will be nice to use for winter before work.

These are some of the things I’m hoping to pick up when they go into the sale, or what I’m still contemplating picking up.

  • Lush Sweet Christmas Gift Set – £35.50 – not yet in the sale (link)

This was on my Christmas wish list so I’m keeping fingers crossed that I’ll get it, but even if I do I’m hoping I’ll manage to grab one (or maybe two) in the Christmas sales at Lush, alongside some other bits and pieces. I pretty much want everything in this box. It contains: Magic Wand Reuseable Bubble Bar, Rose Jam Bubble Bar, Yog Nog Bath Bomb, Luxury Lush Pud Bath Bomb, Tooth Fairy Tooth Powder, The Comforter Shower Cream, and Snow Fairy Shower Gel. Alas if I don’t pick this up, I’ll be buying some other goodies instead: Snow Fairy Shower Gel (the BIGGEST bottle!), Salt and Peppermint Bark Shower Scrub, Yog Nog Bath Bomb (at least 5!), Star Dust Bath Bomb, Bar Humbug Bubble Bar, Christingle Body Conditioner, So White Bath Bomb (at least 5 again!), and Father Christmas (again, at least 5!). Realistically I don’t want to be buying THAT much, or spending that much either really. I’ll be picking up what I can, and whatever I think will last me until next year.

  • eBay Baggy Cargo Pants – £29.99 (link)

When I was a teenager and starting to really come out of my shell and discover who I was, my fashion tastes developed quickly too, and I always wanted a pair of baggy cargo jeans. The rocker and alternative girls at school wore them, and I wanted to as well. My parents reused to buy me such jeans, but my brother bought me a pair, Levi’s too! I wore them for years, but as I got older I lost a lot of weight and they didn’t fit me anymore. Not just that they were battered from wearing them so much. I would love to own another pair for lazy days to pair with a tight fitted t-shirt. The next two I’ll be talking about would go perfect with this pair of pants. Also, I know these aren’t a sale item, but meh… It’s my blog! 😛

  • New Look White Stripe Contrast Trim T-Shirt – £5.00 down from £9.99 (link)

This t-shirt reminds me of something from the nineties. It also reminds me of Ernie from Sesame Street, and I don’t know why! This would look great dressed up and down! For £5.00 I can see me picking it up, as I could do with some new t-shirts. I find myself gravitating to the same ones and I wish to change that.

  • New Look Black Ribbed Cold Shoulder Long Sleeve Top – £8.99 (link)

I have been after a t-shirt like this for YEARS! Only now have I managed to find one exactly how I pictured it in my mind. The only problem I have with cold shoulder tops is if you don’t have an awesome top arm tattoo to show off it renders it pointless… But alas I still want one and even though it isn’t sale, I can see me buying this too. £8.99 is a pretty good price for what it is to be fair.

So that was my choices and purchases for the Christmas sales! I also cannot believe it’s Christmas Eve. This Christmas has passed us by really quickly and soon enough it’ll be the New Year!

Have you picked anything up in the sales? Make sure to let me know in the comments.

Until next time, take care all and have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!
