Kat Von D Beauty Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Bauhau5 – Review

I have wanted to write this review the week after I first wore it but I decided to wait until 2017 to kick start off the year with an amazing review, because this one is going to be good! I haven’t fallen in love with a product for quite some time and it is safe to say that my Jeffree Star Cosmetics liquid lipsticks have been pushed aside a little since me buying this in November last year.

When I went to visit my friend Sophi in London I decided to visit the Oxford Street Debenhams store so I could swatch some of the Kat Von D liquid lipstick shades. I have always wanted Bauhau5 but never ordered it from people on eBay, or Sephora, or anything else like that. Well this shade was certainly worth the wait as since me buying it two months ago it has been my go to lipstick. I can’t wait any longer, I have to review this lipstick once and for all!

The first thing you need to know about Kat Von D Beauty if you’re from the UK is that it is FINALLY out for sale here! YAY! No need to use dodgy eBay sellers or paying the odds to get it shipped from America. However the only place you can buy it from is Debenhams. If you aren’t able to get down to the London Oxford Street Debenhams store to buy anything then do not worry, you can order online. WOOHOO! I decided to buy Bauhau5 from the store because I was down there anyway and I wanted to swatch a few shades to get an idea of what I would like to buy in the future from the Debenhams website.

As I have already mentioned (and the title… DUH!!!) I picked up Bauhau5 which is a deep raspberry shade. I have seen liquid lipsticks like this before, Masochist by Jeffree Star Cosmetics being one of them. However I wanted to try something by Kat Von D and this was the shade I had always been drawn towards. I love wearing my dark shades and especially my pinks, purples and reds. Raspberry pink is a definite win for me when it comes to lipstick thanks to my love of Rebel by MAC Cosmetics.

I love the packaging for Kat Von D as it just looks so gothic yet expensive and luxurious. The black packaging with silver roses definitely does this for me and what makes me even happier is that the pattern continues onto the product itself. As you can see the black and silver pattern is on the lid of the liquid lipstick, as well as some detailing on the tube itself.

The applicator is a doe foot like most liquid lipsticks and lip glosses these days and is to me on the small side, which I really like as not everyone has big lips so it means anyone with smaller or thin lips will be able to apply this all over without any worries of over lining or making a mess. The tube for Kat Von D’s liquid lipsticks are long, unlike Jeffree Star’s liquid lipsticks which are shorter. I’m never preferable length wise with the tubes, although I know a lot of people are. I don’t find it any harder or easier to apply with a longer or a shorter wand. I do like the size of Kat Von D’s liquid lipstick though as I find the length of it looks nice and slick, especially as you take it out of a glitzy handbag on a night out. This does also have a scent which I was rather surprised by! I thought it would be scentless to be honest but I am really pleased about the scent as I find the chemical style smell with some liquid lipsticks I own puts me off. This one has a light scent which reminds me of vanilla and very much so reminds me of the smell that you get with MAC Cosmetics lipsticks.

I can’t compare to any other Kat Von D liquid lipsticks but this is very pigmented to me and it is a beautiful shade! I didn’t know what to expect before I swatched this in Debenhams but I was surprised at what a gorgeous colour it was and by how creamy it felt when applying it to the back of my hand.

Due to the public Twitter and YouTube arguments that happened between Kat Von D and Jeffree Star I feel like I am sounding like I am siding with one or the other (I’m not I don’t give a shit about all that rubbish!) but I found when applying this to my lips and wearing it that it felt more comfortable than Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks. They’re both comfortable, don’t get me wrong but I found due to the creamy texture of Kat Von D’s liquid lipsticks that this felt like I was just wearing a lip balm rather than a lipstick.

I don’t feel like I need to apply a lip liner with this as it’s a thick enough consistency that I can take my time and line my lips. However with Jeffree Star’s liquid lipsticks I find the majority of his shades are watery in consistency and can be a bit more fiddly when applying without a lip liner as a guide. This being said I do feel that I use more of the Kat Von D liquid lipstick over than Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks due to the texture of them.

The true test of a liquid lipstick for me is the staying power. I never ever have a problem with this staying on my lips and I always get lovely compliments on it due to that. It lasts the same amount of time as all my liquid lipsticks do, which is great!

Just a reminder that all liquid lipsticks this will get worn away if you are in contact with any food (or possibly drinks) that contain oil. This lasts throughout my shift at work too, only budging on my lunch break when I grab something to eat, which of course is perfect!I do find if you reapply this however you can tell a little bit when looking close up that you’ve reapplied which I can’t say as I liked but meh nothing that can’t be solved with another coat all over the lips.

I of course used the “kiss” and “finger” test to show off that this product doesn’t come off when in contact with anything, and everyone I have shown it to has been impressed, especially my boyfriend who hates being covered in lip shaped kisses.

I do find that Bauhau5 does stain a little but nothing a couple of cotton pads soaked in make up remover won’t fix!

I’ve swatched Bauhau5 above Jeffree Star Cosmetics Masochist.

In good There Might Be Coffee spirit when it comes to reviewing lipsticks, I have to show off my mug wearing them! Dane bought me a selfie ring light for my phone so I’m using that today to show off the colour, woop woop!

So what do I think of the Kat Von D liquid lipsticks? I think they’re fucking amazing! Excuse my language but I love them so damn much. They’re creamy, comfortable to wear, long lasting, reasonable price wise to buy and come in loads of lovely different shades. I don’t want to own all the shades but I want to own the majority of them to be honest. Whenever I go out somewhere nice for the day or I fancy looking good I always go to Bauhau5 as it’s one of my favourite shades to wear and it just feels and looks great when on. This is the sort of colour I will wear all year around, especially in the summer. If you’re after a shade which will get you out of your nude and pale pink comfort zone then I would say go for Bauhau5 as it’s definitely a shade that will suit everyone.

If you want to pick up this or any other shade of liquid lipstick by Kat Von D then here is the link to Debenhams. They cost £16.00 each which I think is a reasonable price. Sadly in store it is only available at the Oxford Street store right now, but I heard that more stores in the UK will be stocking it at the start of this year. AHH EXCITING!

Like I do with the Jeffree Star Cosmetics I’ll be saying at the end of this post which three Kat Von D liquid lipstick shades I want to pick up next!

Mother – A cool pink. (Temptalia review)

L.U.V. – A warm purple.  (Temptalia review)

Nocturna – A deepest grape.  One of the new shades recently revealed and I LOVE IT.

So that was my review! What do you think of Bauhau5 and the Kat Von D liquid lipsticks? Do you own any yourself, if so which shade(s) and what do you think of it/them?

Until next time take care all and I hope you’ve had a great week so far.

27th Birthday Wish List

Yes in 3 days time it will be my birthday and I will be turning 27… Oh age really is creeping up on me! I’m not going to moan though, I hate when people do shit like that. What I especially hate younger people asking how old I’ll be to turn around and say after my reply, “OH MY GOD YOU ARE SOOOOO OLD!!!” Urgh just shut the fuck up. Sorry to sound very negative but I hate younger people being so ignorant as to say things like this. 😛

With a birthday comes gifts and presents (if you’re as lucky as myself and many others. Some people sadly don’t get gifts and presents on their birthday…) from various different people and whilst I’m not the type to say, “I WANT THIS FOR MY BIRTHDAY!” I will direct people in the right direction if they aren’t sure what to get me, especially Dane although this year  he seems to know what to get me as he’s ordered majority of my presents.

So here is my wish list for my birthday this year! It’s got some geeky stuff on as well as some beauty related goodies and jewellery.

  • Pokemon Center Vulpix Pikachu Crossover Plushie in Normal Form – £25.50 (link)

I know I always post about Pokemon Center plushies that I want and lust after but this is one that I REALLY want! It’s an adorable Pikachu dressed up as Vulpix, who is one of my favourite Pokemon. This also comes in the new Aloha form but I prefer the original. I don’t think I’ll be getting this for my birthday as it doesn’t come out until the start of February but as soon as I get paid next week I’ll be ordering one myself. ^_^

  • Your Lie In April manga volume 2 – £8.99 (link)

This is a new manga and anime I have gotten into lately and I really do love it! I read volume 1 as soon as I was given it by Dane as an early Christmas present and I can’t wait to read more of the manga to be honest. The anime is really good and although the manga and anime are meant to be aimed towards men I find that women can watch it too. The anime is currently on Netflix but it is in Japanese with English subtitles. I’ll pop a trailer up so you can watch it!

  • Kat Von D Beauty Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in shade Mother – £16.00 (link)

I love Kat Von D’s liquid lipsticks and I was so glad to get my first one (Bauhau5) in November from the Oxford Street store when I went to visit my friend Sophi. Since then I have craved to buy more but I’ve been good so far. Even if I don’t obviously get an actual liquid lipstick for my birthday some vouchers for Debenhams would be great so I can pick up a couple of shades. Mother is a gorgeous rose pink shade which I would love to pick up for when spring and summer are here.

  • South Park : The Fractured But Whole Mysterion figurine – £39.99 (link)

Dayyyyum this is something I really want but I know I won’t be getting… Sad times. Me and Dane love South Park and as soon as I saw this on Forbidden Planet’s website I wanted it. We’ve also seen it in the Forbidden Planet store in Birmingham and it looks amazing! He’s 6 inches so he’s huge as well. We nearly ended up buying it New Years Eve when we went out shopping but left it due to being on a spending ban… 😦 I’m sure we’ll buy it as a treat in the future. We already know where we would put him in the house, on the fireplace! 😀

  • Thomas Sabo Fox charm pendant – £25.95 (link)

As I mentioned on my Christmas natter post recently my parents gave me a Thomas Sabo charm bracelet for Christmas, which I love! I know my brother is buying me some more charms for it for my belated Christmas and my birthday present combined and this is one of the charms I showed him. As regular readers of my blog will know I love foxes so this is right up my street! I love how simplistic but gorgeous it is.

  • Lime Crime Diamond Crushers Liquid Lipstick in shade Trip – £13.95 (link)

I’m not a huge fan of Lime Crime due to the controversy surrounding them but the past year they seem to have somewhat bettered themselves. That and my friend Claire has told me nothing but good things about the liquid lipsticks… I trust her with make up gossip that’s for sure! I have loved the look of the Diamond Crushers since they were announced a while ago. Trip is my favourite out of the bunch, which is a beautiful blue lipstick topper, which you can also wear alone. I’d team it up with various different liquid lipsticks. It’s currently sold out on Love-Makeup but I’m going to keep my eye out for it in the future!

  • Pokemon Eevee Evolution water bottle  – £9.90 (link)

I thought I was going to get this for Christmas as Dane had shown it to me before ordering my presents, but alas he never. I don’t think I’ll be getting it for my birthday either. He insists that I don’t need anymore water bottles but I beg to differ! I love having water bottles for work, as well as for on the go and although I love my owl water bottle that I use for work, I’d love a Pokemon related one for work too to show off my inner geek! This one is pretty simple but I love that it’s purple. If I have some birthday money I might treat myself to it.

  • Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick in shade No Tea, No Shade – $18.00/£16.00 (link)

I decided that I’m going to calm down on my Jeffree Star liquid lipstick buying as I want to try out loads of other brands instead of just sticking to the same one. HOWEVER he announced this shade just before Christmas and I fell in love, hard!!! I can’t wait for it to come out on Beauty Bay this month because as soon as it launches I’ll be buying it. It’s a beautiful purple metallic shade and it’ll be perfect for autumn and winter seasons.

  • Thomas Sabo Bird charm pendant – £35.00 (link)

I know I’ll be getting this for my birthday as my brother told me he would get it for me. It’s a Christmas themed charm but I’d love it all year around. It’s call the bird charm but as you can see it’s a robin, which I love. They’re just such gorgeous birds and they always remind me of the winter season. It’s not a cheap charm however as it originally costs £70.00! OUCH! If however he doesn’t manage to get me this charm I’ll pick it up on my birthday as a treat to myself.

So that was my wish list for my 27th birthday! God I really am getting old and whilst at 27 you probably expect to see more adult present ideas on a post like this, you won’t find that with me. I am a big kid and even though I’ll soon be 30 I know I’ll stay that way for a very long time.

What kind of gifts do you like to receive for your birthday? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time take care all and I hope you had a lovely New Year.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! It’s New Years Day and hello 2017! I can’t believe how quick it came around. I’m happy for a new year, even though I rather loved 2016 for various different reasons. SO I thought I would do a favourites of 2016 but it won’t just be for beauty like my monthly favourites posts are, it’ll cover a lot more. I’ll be talking about beauty, fashion, games, books and films. For each I’ll be naming 3 things that were my favourite. I know I usually write why they’re my favourite(s) but I won’t be doing that today.

October ’16 Favourites

Wow October blitzed through this year and now Halloween is over it’s time for annoying people to shoot off fireworks at stupid times (and stupidly at each other…) and then onto alllllll the Christmas stuff!

But for now lets try and not get too excited for Christmas yet seeing as we have all of December to do that… Which will be here before we know it too! My favourites this month aren’t anything special sadly and I actually found it really hard trying to think of what I loved this month. Eventually I soon came up with some ideas. 😛

  • Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel

As many of my old readers will know I LOVE Lush and I especially love Christmas time when Snow Fairy their Christmas classic comes out. This sells out fairly quickly when it first comes out, both online and in store. I still have my bottles from last year to use up before I buy anymore this year. Dane bought me the huge 1kg bottle last year for my birthday in January and we recently started to use it. We both love the smell so whenever either of us use it we can smell it on each other right up until the end of the day when we get into bed. It’s a great shower gel not just for the smell, but it leaves you feeling lovely and clean, as well as soft and smooth. Oh by the way the label isn’t on the bottle anymore because the label kept peeling and making a mess so pulling it off was just easier.

  • L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream

My mom recently gave me a large tube of this hand cream because she got it for free when she ordered some goodies for herself. I have LOADS of L’Occitane hand cream to use up but meh I needed something at the time as my hands were really dry and I ended up keeping it. Now it lives in my handbag as my daily hand cream that I use before, during and after work. My eczema is starting to flare up again due to the cold so this hand cream has really helped to calm it down when it’s really bad. You can never go wrong with their shea butter hand cream, it’s definitely the best one I’ve ever used to date!

  • Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in Androgyny

I LOVE Jeffree Star’s liquid lipsticks and I’m forever eyeing up a new shade to buy, or even new shades that are being released. Recently Beauty Bay a UK beauty brand online brought his brand out to the UK and along with that LOADS of shades! I hadn’t been fussed about picking up Androgyny until my friend Rhi from work picked it up and it looked so lovely on her, so she swayed me to pick one up myself. Since then I love it so damn much and wear it a couple of times a week. I’ll be reviewing this very soon.

  • Holika Holika Smoothie Peeling Jam (Grape Expectation)

This was a face scrub I picked up from Homesense when I was in Chichester for work. It’s a gel style scrub you apply to dry skin, with dry hands and the more you rub the more dead skin begins to form on the skin. It literally peels away all your old dead skin cells on the skin. I would love something like this for my whole body to be honest! I bought two jars of this as I loved it so much after the first use. A little bit of this goes a long way which is great. It’ll definitely last me ages!

  • Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub

I’ve used this body scrub on and off for a couple of years now and make sure to use it weekly so ensure my skin stays lovely and soft. The best thing about it though is how lovely and sweet it smells, like a key lime pie. It works great not just for scrubbing the dead skin off of your body but also as it has some form of oil it leaves your skin feeling soft and as if you’ve used a body lotion or conditioner.

So those were my favourites from last month! I’ve found it was mostly items that help keep my body lovely and soft. You can tell the weather has got colder and harsher on the skin.

What did you love using last month? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time take care all and I hope November is an exciting month for you all!

July ’16 Favourites

Is it really August now? The past two months have flown by and I’m really gobsmacked about it. It’s due to my house, and now I can safely say that me and Dane have moved in! Hopefully things will start to slow down a little now, and I’ll have more time for my blog. Yay! As I write this I am wrapped up on my new sofa, in my gorgeous new M&S blanket, with a horror movie on… Did I also happen to mention it’s 8am? Oh dear!

Anyway let’s get on with this post! OH and you may have noticed that the background image is now different then how it was before. This is how it should be from now on, due to moving into the house, etc.

  • Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in Scorpio (review here)

I can’t believe I haven’t yet mentioned this shade by Jeffree Star, especially as it is on of my favourite shades to wear! I don’t really get as many compliments on this… So to speak. I usually get, “That looks very gothic!” or “Wow I wish I could rock a shade like that!” I guess the latter is kind of a compliment. It’s a gorgeous grey purple shade and one I love to wear whenever I fancy being different.

  • Maybelline Baby Lips Pop Art in Grapefruit Zing (review here)

I recently reviewed this on my blog and it has seriously been my go to lip product since I bought it. I have been wearing my lipsticks of course, but this has just been handy for when I’m too tired from early shifts at work (getting up at 4.30am is hard work people!) to be arsed to apply liquid lipstick. I get loads of compliments on this too, which is always lovely to hear!

  • Victoria’s Secret Body Mist in Snow Mint

This is an old Victoria’s Secret product and have owned for nearly two years now… Wow a long time! I love using this during the warm summer months as it’s so cooling to just spray onto the skin, especially before work, or if you want to pop out to do some errands. I get nothing but compliments on the Victoria’s Secret body mists and this is no different. Everyone always says how nice I smell, which of course is a great thing to be told! I hope they release these again this Christmas, as they are limited edition. You can pick these up on eBay though, which is always good.

  • The Body Shop Drops of Youth Concentrate

This is a sample I picked up a couple of weeks ago from The Body Shop and it is safe to say that I loved it. It’s one of those products where a little bit goes a long way, and as it’s lightweight and cooling it has been a real treat to use when it’s been hot and clammy. I don’t know if I would pick up a full size of this, but it has left my skin feeling gorgeous. I may have to treat myself to it in the future. It is a beautiful product to use.

  • Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Gloss in Wink Of Pink

Another Maybelline product! I have been waiting for these to hit the UK for quite some time now, and they are finally here. Not all shades that America have mind, which is frustrating. These have been lovely to wear on their own or over the top of Grapefruit Zing. I intend to review this soon as it is such a lovely lip gloss to wear over the summer, and it really does remind me of lip glosses I wore as a teenager.

So those are my favourites for July! Sorry that there isn’t anything mind-blowing on here, but sadly I haven’t been able to really use anything special this month due to house related issues again. Now we have moved in things will start to get more exciting on my blog again, I promise!

What things have you been loving throughout July? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you had a lovely weekend.

July ’16 Wish List

Oh hello July, can you please bring us some more lovely weather instead of all this vile rain!? Yes the weather has mostly been crap in June, but there was also some gorgeous weather too! Which I think a lot of people are forgetting about.

But enough about the weather, it’s now July and you know what that means? It’s time for a new wish list! This one wasn’t exactly straight forward to put together but I managed it in the end, and the majority of the items on said list are hella KAWAII!

 photo July 2016 Wish List_zpstet0lztf.jpg

  • Disney Pocahontas Meeko Pop! Vinyl – £10.99 (link)

I’ve expressed on my blog before how I’m not a huge fan of Pop! Vinyl figures, and would much prefer to spend quite a bit more money on Nendoroid’s. However, there are just some characters that Good Smile Company won’t bring out, and there are just some Pop! Vinyl figures I just cannot say no to. This Meeko one is so cute, and who can say that it isn’t, huh? I would want the Pocahontas one to go with Meeko too, eventually. May as well get the set.

  • H&M Porcelain Mug – £3.99 (link)

Due to the house I am constantly looking at home related things these days, mostly because I still have a lot of stuff to buy, but also because it’s kind of better than looking at clothes. I think this must be something that happens when you move out… Anyway! H&M have this cute matching cat set, but you have to buy them separate however. I probably have enough mugs bought for now, but I rather like the look of this one too! It’s not too in your face either, as the cats face is inside the cup itself, with some little cat ears on the outside. Very cute!

  • Jeffree Star  Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick in shade Rose Matter – $18.00 (or £14.00 from Cocktail Cosmetics when in stock) (link)

I love the Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks, FACT PEOPLE! I want all of the shades someday, but for now my collection has had to be told on hold due to the house. However, that doesn’t stop me from wishing after shades, especially Rose Matter, one of his newest shades. It’s a coral shade, which I love! However, I don’t really know if it suits my yellow skin tone… I’ll wait until I’m next in Cocktail Cosmetics Sutton Coldfield store to check this shade out.

  • Bee and PuppyCat Comic Book Vol. 3 – £10.96 (link)

I LOVE Bee and PuppyCat and it has fast turned into my favourite cartoon/comic book this year. Volume 3 isn’t due to come out until December, which sucks as it seems like so far away, but it’ll be well worth the wait! I have volumes 1 and 2 and have enjoyed them both a lot, so I already can’t wait for the third installment.

  • Deadpool Badge Pack – £1.99 (link)

I recently started using my backpack again, and as I used to collect badges when I used it beforehand, I thought I would start that little hobby up again. Now as I love Deadpool, I definitely need to add a Deadpool badge or two to my bag! I currently have some South Park, Adventure Time, and Kurt Cobain badges at the moment.

  • Disney Store Finding Dory Sea Otter Soft Toy – £12.95 (link)

I saw this little cutie when I was down in London visiting my friend Sophi, and I was going to buy him but I left it. I love otters, so to have a cute little otter plushie would make me really happy. BUT it isn’t a necessity, just something I am lusting after. Maybe if it ever goes into the Disney Store sale.

  • H&M Small Bowl – £3.99 (link)

The bowl is just like the cup, with a cats face inside and cute ears around the edge. Unlike the cup I would buy two of these, one for me and one for Dane, or guests. They’re just simple but really cute, something nice to perk you up in the morning to have cornflakes in before work.

  • Belle Muerte Hex Black As Your Soul Bath Bomb – £3.00 (link)

What hurts the most about this item is I want to buy one, but it is constantly sold out! I like how cheap it is mind! They have all sorts of variations, from this black one, to blood red, green, purple, etc. I know I’ve never been a fan of any bath bombs apart from Lush, but that won’t stop me from one day trying this one. Quite frankly I cannot wait!

  • H&M Plate With A Print – £3.99 (link)

Again, like the cup and bowl this is similar apart from the plate doesn’t have any little eats on it. This again will be nice for breakfast, as well as for lunch. I’d buy two of these to go with the bowls, for myself and Dane, or for a guest.

So that was my wish list for July! I know there isn’t anything super special on there, but to be honest since buying the house, I have a feeling my life might be a little boring. BUT every cloud has a silver lining, because I hope to do more house/home related posts from now on!

What items are on your wish lists this month? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time, take care all and I hope you have a great week!

May ’16 Favourites

It’s June and it’s also a hella exciting month! Oh God… Did I really just say hella?! Anyway! More to come as to why it is exciting in a couple of days time. 😛 It’s also mine and Dane’s three year anniversary on the 8th, yay! Of course, more into that next week.

However, it is once again time to share my favourites from the previous month, and boy was it hard to narrow it down to five! For once I actually struggled to decide, but eventually I found my favourites, which I’m sharing with you today.

 photo May Favs_zpsteoddxyt.jpg

  • Johnson’s Bedtime Baby Bath (link)

Okay I know this is meant to be for babies, but there is something to me that is really comforting about Johnson’s original baby bath, as well as the bedtime one. Every time I have used the bedtime one before bed I have slept really early, and had a great nights sleep! So it doesn’t just work for babies, obviously. It’s just going to a real treat to keep using, as whilst I love using Twilight bath bomb by Lush before bed, I find this is a nice cheaper version that won’t break the bank.

  • Bourjois Paris Happy Light Luminous Serum Primer (link)

I am loving the Bourjois primers at the moment, the luminous one being the one out of the two (the other is the matte one) that I’ve been using pretty much everyday throughout May. Sadly it’s not pretty much run out, which is the only thing I am disappointed about, because at £10.99 a pop it’s a lot to fork out every month. I did however get this and the matte one on the 2 for £14 offer in May. Well I wish I had bought more as these are amazing primers, dare I say better than Benefit POREfessional? They really do matte my skin and this one leaves me with a nice healthy looking glow. You don’t need a lot either to get a matte affect. I just love it, but I think I’ll be waiting until another offer comes up where I can feel okay with splashing out £11… Still, it’s cheaper than Benefit! 😛

  • Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick in shade Redrum (link) (review can be read here)

I love my Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks, that is a fact and everyone I know, knows this! I wear them quite often and every time I do I always get compliments. This was one of my recent purchases and oh my, do I love it. It might be my favourite shade to date and out of this and Scorpio, I find myself wearing this one more. It’s a gorgeous Marilyn Monroe red shade, perfect for any time of year. I get nothing but compliments on it, and since recently buying Jeffree Star’s white liquid lipstick shade Drug Lord, I’ve been mixing it with all my liquid lipstick to create my own shades! I recently tried it with Redrum and it looks just like Doll Parts! So pleased!

  • Lush Love and Light Hand Cream (link) (review can be read here)

Now this is a hand cream I have come to love when I first bought it, and then when the winter months came in and my hands were really bad, I grew to dislike it due to the fact it wasn’t nourishing my hands as much as I wanted and hoped that it would. However, I began using this again at the start of May and my hands looked beautiful and soft. I was so damn happy! I popped some in a little pot and started taking it with me to work to use after washing my hands. Towards the end of May though my hands have started to look rough again… I don’t know if it’s due to the hand cream not working as well as it did at first, or due to something else. Either way I am disappointed… I love what this hand cream did for my hands again, but I won’t be buying a pot ever again.

  • DKNY MY NY Eau de Parfum (link)

I can’t even remember how long I’ve owned this for now… Must be three or so years now, gosh I feel old! I remember to this day my mom buying me the huge 100ml bottle as it was on an offer, and I’m probably only just halfway through it now. This is a strong scent and one you don’t need a lot of. It isn’t the nicest DKNY scent I have had, but it isn’t awful either. I just use it for work these days, and I get NOTHING but compliments on it! Which is always a good thing. The only thing I dislike about it is how huge the bottle is. It JUST about fits in my handbag, which isn’t exactly huge. It’s a lovely scent though, and perfect for the summer months that are looming.

So those were my five favourite beauty products this month!

What did you enjoy using throughout May? Make sure to let me know in the comments.

Until next time take care all, and I hope everyone is having a good week so far.

Currently #6

Soon it will be May… I no like this. 2016 is going really quickly! I can’t complain too much though I guess. I want June to hurry up so I can spoil Dane with anniversary presents, have my two weeks off holiday, AND I’m going to London again (but I’ll save that for another post…)!

It’s my day off work (I wrote this post on Thursday 28th) so I thought I would do another currently post, as I actually really love to write them. I always seem to write these on my days off, which is nice. I like to sit on my bed, with the window open, maybe a candle burning, and just chill out to some music. Oh bliss. 😛

Watching:  I’ve been watching all sorts lately, but since the new season starting at the beginning of March I’ve been watching season 8 of RuPaul’s Drag Race religiously! KIM CHI TO WIN! I’m really loving this season, and it’s even better that I can gossip about it with one of the girls I work with. I’m going to be so sad when it’s finished, and we have to wait until season 9 next year. 😦

As well as that I’ve also been watching a TV show that I loved growing up, Harry Enfield and Chums. It was so hilarious at the time and going through the two series again just reminded me of how I would laugh so loudly at some of the sketches. My parents called me Kevin growing up, as I was pretty much just like him as a teenager. They still joke about it to this day. I don’t know who my favourite but my favourite five are, Kevin Patterson, The Lovely Wobbly Randy Old Ladies, The Old Gits, Harry and Lulu, and Wayne and Waynetta Slob.

I also recently continued watching Sword Art Online by starting series 2. I’m half way through it and I LOVE IT! It’s definitely up there as one of my favourite anime series. I’ll be finishing the rest off when Dane is here next. I love Sinon and her back story, she’s turning into my favourite character. FYI don’t watch the above video if you don’t want spoilers!

Reading: Speaking of Sword Art Online, I’ve been reading loads of my Sword Art Online Progressive manga lately. I’m currently about to start volume 4, and then I’ll have to wait God knows how long until I can read the next one. Then I’ll move onto my Nana manga and finish that off, considering I now have all of the volumes. I’m really enjoying this series, and it’s one I’m going to keep up with! The only problem I have with reading manga at work, is how sometimes there will be sexual images in there, which are somewhat innocent… I try to hide it, but I often worry if anyone sees what I’m reading, they’ll think I’m reading porn. Which of course I’m not! But we know what Japan is like when it comes to perving. 😛

Listening: I have been listening to various things lately. The past three mornings/afternoons I’ve been listening to cKy albums on my way to and from work. Can’t get much better than that!

Other than that though, I’ve discovered some songs I liked and downloaded to have on my phone. One I’ve only recently discovered is “Faded” by Alan Walker. I knew of the original track “Fade” which came out in 2014, but I didn’t realise that he had produced something new from it. I would hear “Faded” playing whilst out and say to Dane, “Pfft someone has ripped off Alan Walker’s track and used it to make a song. What arseholes!” Alas I was actually talking about Alan Walker really, who alas did not rip off his own song, but actually made it better. I am no obsessed with this song and listen to it daily. I don’t care if that sounds obsessive. I haven’t fallen in love a with song so hard for a very long time. Oh and the music video is beautiful too. I love videos like this, and have always wanted to direct/produce something like it myself.

As well as that I’ve been listening to loads of songs by Nightcore on YouTube. This is one of my favourites at the moment. I wish they had an album I could just buy and have in my car for journeys.

Eating: Mmm food… ME LOVE FOOD! I baked a lot the past month, which I really enjoyed doing. I made Dane a Deadpool birthday cake (which you can read in full detail here) as well as some ciabatta bread rolls. They were fun to make for sure, and I hope to make some more soon. I was meant to bake a cottage load for my dad, but I never got around to doing it. I might today, I guess it depends on what I’m doing with myself.

I tried an amazing Mexican dish yesterday too, and I wish I had bought some to eat tonight but I thought I would wait until I see Dane tomorrow after work and buy us one each to have before we go watch Civil War. Woop! It’s a potato, rice, and pulled steak pie. Was absolutely delicious! I’d love to try and make it myself.

Wearing: I’ve been dressing rather geeky lately, and I LOVE IT. I’ve rocked my Jake Dr Martens more than ever before (you can read about those here) and I can’t believe it’s been over a year now since Dane bought them me! Although I was only allowed them in September when I finished my masters. I’ve been teaming these up with my new Black Milk Clothing leggings, as well as my new Deadpool tee which Dane bought for me from Red Bubble. That is fast turning into one of my favourite places to shop for geeky clothing.

Wanting: I don’t actually feel like there is a whole lot I’m lusting after right now… I still really want ALL the Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks, and one day that will happen. I’m going to slowly grow my collection until I have the all, yays! Other than that I’m not quite sure what I want… My wish list post will be up in a couple of days anyway so you can check that out!

Woo to the hoo so those are my currently’s at the moment! I love doing these posts so that I’m able to share all the things I am into and loving lately. I hope to start doing one every month, as that’s how they seem to be falling into place lately. Let me know what you think of this idea!

What are you currently loving lately? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

Until next time, take care all and have a great weekend!

M.I.A. & This Week…

Oh dear I haven’t posted for over a week now… *smacks self on hand repeatedly until no longer feels bad and due to this arrives back to continue writing post hours later*

I do have my reasons though! I’m currently on holiday from work, and I’ll be returning back on Wednesday. I planned to sit around doing stuff at home, and writing loads of blog posts to last me at least a fortnight, but alas this hasn’t happened. For a change I haven’t been stuck in the house like I assumed I would be, and went out pretty much everyday!

Monday I went for a day out in town with my friend Sophie to eat sushi, do some nerdy shopping, got stuck in the rain, and chilled out at hers in the evening. It was lovely, and it’s days like that with her that I really do enjoy.

The new Matcha Roll from YO! Sushi. For how much it cost it wasn’t really worth the money…

Tuesday I wasn’t very well for pretty much most of the day so I spent it in bed playing Spyro 2 on my PlayStation and catching up with season 8 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Seriously love that show! Later on in the afternoon Dane came over after work to stay the night. He had the rest of the week booked off as holiday, as it was his birthday Thursday.

Wednesday we had a VERY busy day! I had planned to bake Dane a cake for his birthday, and was supposed to go out and buy everything on Tuesday, but alas I was poorly. But it didn’t matter as we had a lovely day together on Wednesday! We discovered a new shopping centre to go to instead of our usual ones, had lunch at Ed’s Diner, and got all the stuff we needed for his cake! I’ll be writing a post on this for tomorrow, as his cake was just too amazing not to talk about… Well in my opinion anyway. 😛 It took almost three hours to make, so it better have been good!

Ed’s Diner shakes are the best! I had the Biscoff one, delicious. ^_^

Thursday was Dane’s birthday and it was a really nice day. We went to a local farm that we always enjoy visiting (you can read about it here and here) and saw the cutest little bunny there! We really wanted to buy him, but alas we don’t have the room for him right now, which sucks. 😦 We went for a meal at Frankie & Benny’s too, which was amazing! Dane loved all the presents he was bought, and was mostly bought Deadpool related goodies. I also bought him the Darth Vader Nendoroid that he needed for his ever-growing collection. He was really pleased with him, which is good because he was hard to find! 😛

Not going to lie when I say that it makes me sad looking at these pictures of the bunny, just because I fell in love with him so much. 😥

Friday was another good day. We spent the morning in bed chilling out, reading our comic books and manga, and decided to go out to Forbidden Planet in Coventry, as well as IKEA. Just to get us out the house really. I’m currently reading the Sword Art Online Progressive manga (and by the way, I am LOVING it!) and Dane as usual is reading his Deadpool comics. For the rest of the day we pretty much chilled out, and played Xbox One games.

Sword Art Online Progressive manga. I’m currently on book 3, and loving the series so far!

Saturday more of a chilled out day, and a bit stressful due to trying to decide whether or not to buy the bunny we had seen Thursday, but alas it hasn’t happened. Which is a shame but meh… We hope he’ll go to a loving home. He was so damn cute! For the rest of the day we chilled out, read more manga and comic books, and played more games. Was legit a very chilled out day. I was meant to try to get some blog work done, but alas it didn’t happen. I did however order myself some new Jeffree Star Cosmetics liquid lipsticks! WOOHOO! I picked up his new shade Scorpio, and Redrum! I cannot wait for them to arrive, I’ll be making sure to review them. 😛

Image taken from Jeffree Star Cosmetics Instagram account. This is one of his new shades, Scorpio. A gorgeous grey purple shade. I can’t wait for it to arrive!

Sunday is today and I intend to get LOADS of blog work done! Me and Dane are contemplating going out to get out of the house for a while… But personally I don’t think I can be arsed. I have at least three or four posts I want to attempt to get written today, and then loads Monday and Tuesday too before I’m due back at work Wednesday. We shall see what happens!

Again I apologise for not being very active this past week on my blog, and to be honest I’ve just wanted to relax over my holiday from work, even though I didn’t do that at allllll! I promise to be back and active on my blog from today.

I hope to have a post up today, but if not today, then tomorrow for sure!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’ve had just as good a week as I did.

March ’16 Favourites

Hello April, where did you come from? This year really is flying by, and quite frankly I’m pretty happy about that right now… But I can’t say why yet. 😛 SORRY (not sorry)!

 photo March Favs_zpsjoz3h9xo.jpg

  • Marc Jacobs Oh, Lola! EDP (link)

I bought this perfume nearly two years ago when I went to Bristol for a long weekend for our first anniversary. I had wanted it for ages, so when I picked it up for a bargain I was super pleased! It’s a lovely light scent, which lasts agggges! I’ve been using it loads at work lately for the transfer from winter to spring. The bottle itself is beautiful, but due to how clunky the lid is, I often take it off when I take it out with me. I would recommend this scent for anyone, as I find alongside Decadence it’s one of the nicest scents.

  • Antipodes Deliverance Hand Cream (link)

My friend Poppy bought me this for Christmas, which I only recently received from her. It’s a gorgeous light hand cream, that really packs a punch! Lately my eczema on my hands is REALLY bad and this hasn’t worked on its own. However when I used this alongside my eczema cream it works like a charm. It smells beautiful and zesty too, which I love for when the summer comes around.

  • Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick in Unicorn Blood (link)

I bought this liquid lipstick from my friend Claire (from memory) in February, and I really do love this shade! I’d had my eye on it from the day Jeffree Star announced it, but was never able to pick myself up a tube due to it being forever sold out! I bought it from Claire (check her blog out here) for £10! BARGAIN! I don’t wear it alllll the time, but I do love it when I do. It applies like a dream, and lasts ages. OH and it doesn’t stain either. I’ll be reviewing this very soon.

  • Snow Fairy Shower Gel

How can this not be on my favourites? Like every month of the year!? I’ve been using this every other day when I fancied using it, and I always forget what an amazing shower gel it is. It smells gorgeous, the scent lasts ages, and my skin always feels and looks gorgeous after use too. I just need to get a body lotion of this now, and I’ll die happy. 😛 I still have my one 1kg bottle of this, as well as two 500g bottles. So I think I have enough to last me until Lush bring this out again in October. 😛

  • Miss Sporty Clear Mascara (link)

I have used his clear mascara on and off since I turned 14, so well over ten years now! I’ve used it on my eyelashes, as well as on my eyebrows, but I just use it for the latter now. I have big eyebrows (as you can probably see…) and it can be hard to keep them in place sometimes, so I use this clear mascara to keep them in place. It’s cheap as chips at just £2.99 too! It helps keep my brows in place all day, so it can’t get any better than that.

Those are my favourite beauty products from March! What products did you love using throughout March? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time, take care all, and here’s to April! 😛
