Spring Tag!

Image taken from weheartit.com

I love spring, it means the weather is beginning to get warmer and lighter nights are just around the corner. Since getting back from my holiday I’ve been lusting after warmer weather and not needing to layer up and wear my parka. I just want to wear my pleather jacket again, as well as my dresses and playsuits.

It’s officially spring today! So what better way to start off spring 2015 on my blog, than a spring tag!

1. Favorite spring nail polish?
I like my cream and pastel shades for spring, and I’ll definitely be wearing my Models Own Speckled polishes (post about them here). They remind me of Mini Eggs, which I love. As well as that I’ll probably be wearing my Illamasqua Raindrops (review here) polish as I love that shade for spring too.

2. What is your must-have lip color this spring?
I’m swaying towards pinks this spring, mostly nude pinks as I’ve recently got into wearing this shade and I really like it. As well as that I always like to rock a hot pink shade too. You can’t go wrong with pink! One I’ll probably wear a lot is Miley Cyrus’ Viva Glam lipstick (review here).

3. Show us your favorite spring dress!
I have so many favourites! I love my Dr. Martens dress (lookbook here), as well as my Miss Selfridge playsuit which I wore on holiday and will continue to wear in the spring and summer in the UK. Here are some pictures of both dresses…

4. What’s your favorite flower?
I don’t reallllly like flowers to be honest and I put this down to having hayfever… But if I had to choose one it would probably be sunflowers and lilies.

5. Favorite spring scarf/accessory?
Favourite spring scarf is definitely my white skull one that I bought three years ago (wow time flies!). It’s light and perfect to wear with dresses in the spring and summer.

6. What spring trend(s) are you most excited about this year? (Makeup, fashion or both!)
I am really liking the look of the 70’s trend, as I find the style that was out then was pretty nice and looked lovely. When it comes to make up and hair, I don’t really bother with those trends as I just wear my hair how I want to, and same with my lipstick too. Clothes wise, I am in desperate need of a make over! So I may go down the 70’s route!

7. Favorite spring candle?
I’ll burn anything throughout the year, but I think out of all my Yankee Candles the candles I’ll be burning most throughout spring will be Sweet Strawberry and Sweet Apple (post about them both here). They’re perfect for spring and smell delicious too. They’re simple too which is great for spring.

8. Favorite body spray/perfume for spring?
Ooo this is a tough one as I have so many I like to wear throughout the year. I think a few that I really like are Paul Smith Rose, DKNY MYNY, Marc Jacobs Oh Lola, Gucci Envy Me, and Lancome Miracle. They’re all light and floral and citrus scents which work lovely for spring.

9. What is spring like where you live?
Erm… It depends I suppose but usually wet! It rains a lot in the UK as it is, but it seems to rain more during spring than any other month. The thing I like about spring in the UK is how great it is to go into the countryside and awe over all the baby animals, as well as take in the sights. I especially love seeing cherry blossom trees.

Image taken from weheartit.com

10. What’s your favorite thing about spring?
Baby animals and cherry blossom trees for sure! They just both make me happy, especially when it comes to photography too. I also like how lighter nights come around and you can go out in the evenings with friends, family, partner, etc and just enjoy yourselves for longer. It’s also nice how it gets a little warmer out too.

11. Are you a spring cleaner?
Sometimes, not like hardcore but I would like to do a lot of spring cleaning this year. I’ve done a little already with my clothes, but I need to do some more. There’s probably loads of junk I could chuck away out of my room!

12. Any plans for spring break or an upcoming vacation?
We don’t have spring break in the UK, but we do get Easter break. I’m not at uni during this time for two weeks and throughout that time I’ll be working, as well as doing my uni work. I may also use it to do my spring cleaning and have a bit of me and blog time. I won’t have any holiday’s coming up, but I would love to go out for a day somewhere nice for my boyfriends birthday, which is just after the Easter holiday’s.

So that was the Spring Tag! I really enjoyed doing it, and I hope my readers have enjoyed reading it.

Who do I tag? EVERYONE! If you take part in this tag, please link me back to said post via a comment so I can come and read it.

Until next time, take care all and I hope you all have a good weekend.

February Favourites 2015

2015 is already flying by and it’s now March! February was a mixture of feelings for me and I honestly couldn’t wait for it to be over for many reasons.

I couldn’t wait to get my February favourites written as I loved so many products last month and whilst I know there are two lipsticks mentioned, who cares! The more the merrier!

I also want to add-on this post how I’m so glad I decided to stop making monthly empties posts. I was thinking about it Friday and yesterday and how much easier it has been so far not having to gather and hoard all my used products. It just makes each month a hell of a lot easier.

  • Victoria’s Secret Ultra-Moisturising Hand and Body Cream in Frosted Apple (LE).

When Victoria’s Secret first opened in Birmingham before Christmas, I honestly couldn’t wait to go there. I’d heard nothing but good things about them and I just wanted to see what great lingerie they had. I ended up buying a bra and it’s now my favourite. Alongside that I had a look in the beauty section and fell in love with their Christmas products. What attracted me the most was their body sprays, which I picked up in Frosted Apple and Snow Mint. When I got to the till the girl who served me said that I could pick another product up for free! So after sniffing it whilst waiting I picked up this body cream. I use it once or twice a week before I go to uni and it is such a beautiful body lotion! It’s not a thick lotion which means it’ll soak into the skin quickly and leave you feeling lovely and soft. I’ve found with this body lotion that in less than 10 minutes I’ll be moisturised and ready to get dressed, which is perfect for me. As well as that, this smells beautiful! If you thought The Body Shop apple range at Christmas was good, well this stuff was better. It reminds me of Hubba Bubba bubblegum, which I always loved as a kid. I’m gutted that this is only limited edition and I regret not buying more, but there’s always eBay and with how quickly months go by, this will be in the shops again soon anyway!

  • Dior Addict EDP.

This was one of my birthday presents whilst I was on holiday (mentioned here) and I really do love it! I keep it in my Travalo for when I’m out and about. It’s a very strong scent and whilst it is said to be an oriental floral fragrance but I feel like this is a mixture of floral and sweet which I really like! I’m a sucker for sweet scents and something that is pretty unique. Due to this being strong it’s lovely to wear on days where I’m out for the majority and want to make sure I don’t have to keep topping up with sprays. This is especially great for when I’m at uni all day and weekends if I’m doing something special. This may not be to a lot of people’s liking as it is a strong scent, but if you like Angel or Alien by Thierry Mugler then you’ll love this!

  • MAC Cosmetics Lipstick in Viva Glam – Miley Cyrus (review here).

Since buying this around Valentine’s Day, I have been in love with it and worn it as much as I can. It lasts ages and feels so creamy and nice to wear. I’ve popped the link to the full review, so if you want to know more definitely go and give it a read! I really want to pick up the lipglass next, but I can wait.

  • The Body Shop Smoothing Pumice Foot Scrub.

Back last month I popped into The Body Shop to use my birthday gift and ended up picking up their foot set (post about that here), which contains this foot scrub. Whilst I’ve so far loved everything in the set, this is the thing I have been loving the most! This is a foaming foot scrub which you can use in both the bath and shower, as well as over a bowl of water if you like that sort of thing. I take about a ten pence size of this and give my feet a good rubbing over with the scrub and then rinse off. My feet were in awful condition after I got back from my holiday and since using this scrub along with the foot cream my feet have been better than ever and I love what it’s done to them. I want to get the rest of the foot range soon, which I might just treat myself to eventually. I’m already confident I’ll have perfect tootsies for summer!

  • Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick in Emotion.

This was one of the presents my Mom bought me whilst we were on holiday (mentioned here) and I love it so much. I’ve wanted a Chanel lipstick for years and this one is perfect for me. It’s a gorgeous berry shade and applies like a balm gloss but lasts like a lipstick! I’ve worn this a couple of times for work on top of a lip liner of the same shade and it works really nicely. I also wear it alone whilst at uni and I’ve had a couple of compliments on it so far. It just feels like butter to wear and keeps my lips feeling moisturised and lovely. I want to review this soon and I probably will at some point this month. It’s amazing and I recommend these lipsticks to anyone who is wanting a Chanel one!

So those were my favourite for this month! What did you think? What are your favourites for February? Make sure to let me know in the comments.

Until next time, take care all.

MAC Viva Glam Miley Cyrus Lipstick – Review

I haven’t written a review for a while and I especially haven’t written a MAC review. However today I have a special new MAC lipstick to talk about. Yes, as the title reads it is infact the newest addition to the Viva Glam family, Miley Cyrus.

I knew as soon as this was announced in October, I would want it in my life. I can’t say I am the biggest fan of Miley Cyrus (even though I do have two of her songs on my iPod…) but I think her first shade out of two has been one of the best Viva Glam celebrity shades for a long time.

I should be saving money but I thought I would treat myself to this after discovering I have passed my first semester of my MA, which I was anxious as hell about! Besides, I recently sold my Viva Glam Nicki lipstick so the money I got for that went towards this. 😛

Due to this being a Viva Glam product it’s a part of the MAC Aids Fund and the full price paid for all the Viva Glam lipsticks is donated to this charity, which goes towards helping women, men and children everywhere affected by HIV and AIDS.

Viva Glam Miley Cyrus is also limited edition, but I’m sure it’ll be around for a year yet when a new celebrity will be getting ready to release their first collaboration with MAC. Of course there will be another shade out by Miley Cyrus yet, which I’m excited about but I’m pretty sure it’ll be a red shade.

Now all that information is out there, I’m going to get down to the finer details of this gorgeous lipstick.

MAC describes Viva Glam Miley Cyrus as:

Miley Cyrus’s shade of VIVA GLAM Lipstick. Her super-sexy hot pink hue in M∙A∙C’s iconic Lipstick formula. Limited-edition packaging features Miley’s signature.

The finish is an amplified creme, which I’ve never owned before until now and I can say it is a gorgeous finish that I want to experience again in the future.

As the description for this lipstick states, it comes in the classic black bullet but instead of silver, its red, which is for MAC’s Aids Fund. As well as that, like all Viva Glam celebrity lipsticks, inside Miley Cyrus’s signature can be found across the red of the bullet. As I did with my Viva Glam Nicki lipstick, I really love the look of the red and black as a change to the classic silver and black.

As for the colour of this lipstick the bullet does look really bright and it might be a tad frightening to someone who doesn’t have much confidence when wearing bright shades, but seriously, it isn’t that bright.

I’ve only owned this since Valentine’s Day, but the day before I tested it out from MAC and it lasted AGES! But since buying this I’ve worn it loads and even have it on today. Due to this being an amplified finish it might not last as long as a satin or a matte finish, but if you use a lip liner, blot and reapply this it’ll last ages, which is exactly what I’ve been doing when wearing it.

For a first time user of amplified finish I’ve not had a problem at all! The lipstick feels creamy and glides onto the lips with ease. I found that you can apply this as lightly or heavily as you wish to and due to this the colour payoff can either be light, or when applied heavy it can build up the colour and be a really shocking, hot pink.

The lipstick leaves behind a light pink stain, which looks perfect.

I’ve done both and loved it, it means you can rock a mild pink stain shade in the daytime and a strong, bold, hot pink in the evenings! Or vice versa of course.

If I want to keep the colour going whilst out and about but don’t wish to reapply it, I found a dab of lip balm does do the trick, especially if it’s got a hint of pink as it helps keep the pink colour of the lipstick bright and strong.

I think this shade will work for everyone as it’s a perfect go to hot pink! Whether you’re pale, mid tone, or dark toned, it’ll look gorgeous on you! I’m yellow toned and I find that this suits me really nicely, and especially as I like my dark and bold shades this is definitely going to be a go to shade for me. It really does remind me of the lip colour that Barbie would go for and I have a feeling this is what Miley Cyrus was aiming for.

Like all the MAC lipsticks this has its standard vanilla scent, and smells just like sugary doughnuts. When I wore this to pop out and run some errands, it actually reminded me of marshmallows and every time I’ve worn it since I have thought about marshmallows and how much I crave them! Thanks MAC!

L-R: Lickable, Speak Louder and Viva Glam Miley Cyrus Flash used.

L-R: Lickable, Speak Louder and Viva Glam Miley Cyrus. No flash, natural light (which was crap due to it being late at night!)

For comparison to some other pink MAC lipsticks I’ve swatched Viva Glam Miley Cyrus next to MAC Lickable (review) and MAC Speak Louder (review).

I already love this lipstick and think before it is taken off of the shelves, I’ll possibly re purchase so I make sure to have a back up for the future. This is just a perfect go to pink lipstick.

This retails for £15.50 from MAC and whilst I usually try and pick up my MAC lipsticks for cheap, I didn’t get this one at a bargain.

You can also pick up the matching lip glass, which I intend to do in the future as when I swatched it it was so beautiful! Very pigmented and would work lovely not just over the top of the lipstick, but on its own during hot summer days too.

I think this will be perfect to wear all year around, especially in the summer in the evenings when going out with friends. I intend to wear this to uni a lot as well, as it’s just so nice to apply.

For some reason recently I’ve really neglected wearing my MAC lipsticks and I have honestly missed wearing them. I think March will be the start of me wearing them more, as they are such amazing lipsticks and by far some of the best ones out there.

I’m hoping to try and get some more MAC reviews on my blog soon, as I know I have a couple of lipstick shades left to review.

What do you think of Viva Glam Miley Cyrus? Have you picked it up yet? Do you intend to? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time, take care and I hope you all had a lovely Valentine’s Day.

February Wish List

I’m going to be honest and say that I’m trying to save money at the moment as my holiday wasn’t the cheapest in the world and I want to try and get my savings back as soon as I can! This being said I’m probably going to buy crap I don’t need now I’ve been paid… In fact it’s the weekend now so as this is live on my blog, I’ve probably already spent some of my money. Oh dear.

So this is basically a list of things I want and will possibly buy if I want a treat.

  • Lush Prince Charming Shower Gel.

The new Valentine’s Day range is now out at Lush and sadly it’s only there now until Saturday and then it’ll be gone for another year. I’ve already picked this shower gel up but it was definitely on my wish list before I did. This is a gorgeous pink shower gel that smells of fresh pomegranate and grapefruit and of warm vanilla and marshmallow. What more do you want from a shower gel, eh? This also keeps the skin lovely and clean, as well as smelling sweet and feeling soft. Perfect for Valentine’s Day as a treat for yourself, or for someone else. I never liked the smell of this shower gel last year and I thought the hype for it was daft. Personally I still don’t see why it’s so hyped but it does smell nice. I’m going to see if I’ll pick up another bottle, or even a larger bottle as whilst it is nice, it isn’t THAT nice and Lush have brought out better smelling shower gels. Even so if you want to try this, pick up on of their smaller bottles. It’s well worth the money!

  • Pokemon Center Eevee Mobile Phone Ear Jack Strap.

As regular readers will know, I love Pokemon and I especially love Eevee and the Eeveelutions. I would love a cute dangly accessory for my phone as if you know me, I’m always on my phone. Whether I’m texting, doing stuff relating to my blog, Twitter, etc. I’ll be on my phone! So why not having something cute dangling from it eh? You can get these sent to the UK pretty cheap, as Pokemon Center’s are mainly located in Japan. If I buy this it’ll only be as a cheer me up treat as it won’t be cheap to get this over to me (over £10) and I’m trying to watch my money at the moment. Definitely worth the splurge though, I love Pokemon!

  • Logitech Bluetooth Multi-Device Keyboard K480.

I noticed this whilst I was away on holiday in an electrical shop and briefly had a look at it. Since then I’ve read a couple of reviews on blogs about it and I REALLY want it for my iPad. It would mean no more needing my laptop all the time, I could actually use this keyboard to do my uni work, blog posts, whatever I wanted! It isn’t cheap at £50, but it would be totally worth it! You can also use this with your phone too, which I think is pretty good. You can get this in black or white, I rather like the black with the yellow on it. The keyboard does remind me of a typewriters keyboard which I think is pretty nifty!

  • Eeveelutions Charm Bracelet.

I’ve only recently started to look on Etsy as my friend Gabriella uses it and I really have found some lovely little bits and pieces on there that I want. It’s mostly Eeveelution items but that’s because it can be hard to pick things up like this over in the UK. Unless you ship them in any way. I don’t really need a new bracelet as I have my two Pandora ones, but I think that this looks too cute to resist! I probably wouldn’t even use the bracelet that much, I guess I would want the charms to pop on a keyring and keep that on my keys. I just think these look incredibly cute and who could resist?

  • Pokemon Alpha Sapphire for 3DS.

Since this came out before Christmas, I’ve been lusting after it and I nearly bought the Spanish version whilst I was on holiday, but ending up leaving it. Alas I’ve now started to play Pokemon X again and getting ready to try and complete the Pokedex on it. As soon as I do that, I’ll be treating myself to this version. I never played the original Ruby and Sapphire, so it would be nice to play and see what the story is all about.

  • Lush Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar.

Another Lush product I’ve actually bought since putting this wish list together, but I haven’t yet used it. It looks so beautiful and it’s definitely one of my favourite Valentine’s Day products to come out from Lush since the Ex Factor Bath Bomb (back from 2010!) so in five years I’ve been waiting for something good to come out, and finally I have it! Unicorn Horn looks so pretty, various different colours, a bit of shimmer and some candy stars. Can’t go wrong with that, eh? As well as that it also smells faintly of lavender, which I really like. It’ll be nice to use in the evenings to wind down before bed. I’m going to try and pick some more of these up before they go away after Saturday as I can see me loving these for after university.

  • MAC Viva Glam Miley Cyrus Lipstick and Lipglass.

In October MAC and Miley Cyrus announced their collaboration and the beauty world went mental! Including myself, and as soon as swatches came out of the new lipstick and glass, I knew I wanted to be one of the first to see. Both the lipstick and the glass are hot pink and gorgeous for when summer comes around. I love hot pink shades and own a couple already, but as these would be going to a good cause, I wouldn’t mind getting some “dupes”. The swatches of these are amazing and I can’t wait for them to come out in store so I can swatch it for myself. I don’t know if I’ll buy the lipstick, the gloss, or even both! The gloss would make a nice change, but I couldn’t see myself using it all that much. I will have to wait and see what I think. But with the collaboration I think it’ll work out really nicely! I can imagine Miley’s second shade being red.

So that was my wish list for this month! What’s on your wish list for February? Let me know in the comments down below.

Sorry for this post being late, but better late than never eh?

Until next time, take care all!

March Wish List

I’m still continuing strong with my spending ban, although I did buy myself a few things last weekend as a treat for a rough week, as well as getting myself a pay rise (of 10p! xD) go me!

So like every new month, I post about which things I want to get my dirty little hands on and with some new beauty related products coming out last month, I definitely have those on my wish list this month.

So without further ado, here is my March wish list, I assure you though that most of my wish list this month will be lip products!

NAtalees wish list march 2013

Although I don’t know her personally and she doesn’t know me personally, I am so proud of Tanya Burr for getting her own Nail Polish and Lip Gloss collection out there! She’s such a wonderful person and an amazing blogger and YouTube Beauty Guru and over the years has just done better and better. I hope she continues to go strength to strength! Now, on with the nail polish. The only shade I really have my eye on is Little Duck and since its release I’ve read about it on pretty much most of the blogs I follow on Bloglovin’ and I just want it so badly for spring and summer. I’d team it with some glitter nail polish too and it’d just be perfect with the dress I picked up on my recent shopping trip. I can’t wait to get my hands on this!

I’ve had my eye on these liquid lipsticks since Eating Lipstick posted about them over on her blog. She’s an American blogger so she mentioned them back towards the end of 2013 but since then I have hoped so much that they would come out in the UK, so last week I found out about them coming out over here and I can’t wait to get my hands on some! The one I have my eye on the most is Ruby Opera, which is a gorgeous true red shade. Of late I have grown in love with wearing red shades again and as much as I love wearing lipstick, sometimes my lips just need a break and as my gone to shade these days is red, my eyes were most attracted to the red shade in this collection. I would like to pick up a pink and purple shade, but I’ll have to wait until I swatch some shades to see which ones I pick up in the near future.

I have been after a new case for my iPhone since Christmas and as of yet haven’t found it. As I mentioned in one of my Japanese series posts I love Pokemon and this phone case is just adorable. It’s an official product from the Pokemon Center and one I have been lusting after for a few weeks in February. It’s a clean case with a picture of Pikachu on the back, with a space above his head for the Apple logo on the back of the iPhone 5 to show through, so it looks like it’s on Pikachu’s head. Cute huh? This isn’t cheap. but it would be coming all the way from Tokyo!

I have wanted to try one of the EOS lip balms since they launched in the UK and as I love Blueberry, this one seems like the most ideal one for me to try, alongside Lemon Drop. I don’t exactly need a new lip balm but this one would be cute to keep in my bag for out on the go, as well as in my apron whilst I’m at work. Selfridges sell all the EOS lip balms, this one included so I’m contemplating picking it up when I run out of one of my many lip balms in my handbag.ED

I’ve heard NOTHING but good about Flamingo Candles and on so many occasions have nearly ordered one, if not just some of the scent melts so that I could give them a go before buying them  properly. But I have a sure feeling I will love these! I have my eye on a couple of the scents, if I were to buy the scent melts, including Bubblegum, White Tea & Mint, Cheesecake Crunch, Fresh Peppermint, Tropical Coconut Milk & Honey, Jamaican Café & Walnut, Lemon & Lime Mojito, and Pink Lemonade. These all just sound so delicious and when/if I order myself one of these candles next month I’ll probably order a couple of the scent melts too, if not just a load of the scent melts, they only cost £2.00 each and I guess it’ll mean I can get a taste for the scent of the candle itself before I plunge into buying the whole thing. But I have a feeling I’ll love Flamingo Candles and I intend to write a post about these in the future!

I won’t lie, I thought Rihanna’s Viva Glam collection was going to be a flop. Another matte red lipstick, just in a different packaging but oh how wrong I was, and the rest of the beauty blogging world too, who also thought the same as I did! This lipstick is infact a Frosty Blue-Red and when I saw the swatches for that and the lipglass it over on Temptalia’s post about it, I instantly fell in love! I thought I needed the lipstick in my life, but after swatching it when I went to MAC with my Mom recently, I found out I don’t like it all that much, but I really do love the lipglass! I’ve really been in  love with red shades recently and this one not only looks pretty for its shade, but the packaging looks lovely too. I know I’ll be picking this up soon, just in time for the summer!

When I went shopping last weekend, I did see and look at this dress and as tempted as I was to try it on, I didn’t as I wanted to not spend too much money as well as the thought I wasn’t 100% sure on it! But my boyfriend reassured me that it’s very me and I should try it on in future, which I think I will do. It’s a gorgeous white crop top underneath a grey tartan dress. It’s very punk/grunge but with a light and, sweet tone to it. It’d look lovely with my Chelsea boots, maybe even my Dr Martens! It’d be lovely to wear during the spring and summer months this year, which is why I am rather tempted to try it on and possibly buy.

Once again,  I am so proud of Tanya Burr for what she has accomplished with her lip gloss and nail polish collection and whilst I want to buy most of her lip gloss shades, I for now have my eye on one, Exotic Island. It’s a gorgeous purple shade, which reminds me of Rebel. I love this deep vampy purple shade, but sometimes I don’t want to wear Rebel and I’ll just want to opt for a gloss when I want to give my lips a rest from lipsticks, so I think this gloss would be a perfect alternative. It won’t break the bank at £6.99 either!

So, that was my wish list for March! I can see me buying all the beauty related products, as after last year, March will probably be a rough month for myself and a few little treats to try and make me feel better, might help, for a while.

As always, if you have any questions about any of the items mentioned here, please leave them down below in the comments. Also which items are you lusting after this month?

Until next time, take care all and have a good week!

MAC Viva Glam Nicki lipstick review

This is the final MAC lipstick review I will be posting on my blog until I purchase a new one, as I only own four, sad times. 😦

Anyway I’m glad to have reviewed all my MAC lipsticks so far as I love them all and have wanted to share that with you all for as long as I have been reviewing products on my blog.

So I hope you have enjoyed all these reviews and will enjoy this one just the same!

DSC_0007

DSC_0008The most recent MAC lipstick to enter my collection was the Viva Glam Nicki lipstick, which I nearly didn’t buy.

I’d been having a crappy day and Debenhams was staring at me in the face with their 20% off of beauty products again, MAC included in this offer. I had my eye on this lipstick for a while, as it looked like a gorgeous bright coral, a shade I didn’t own at that point (or at least I didn’t think I did) so eventually I gave into temptation and ordered it!

I’m not a fan of Nicki Minaj, but fan or not this lipstick is gorgeous and due to it being a Viva Glam product its a part of the MAC Aids Fund the full price paid for all the Viva Glam lipsticks is donated to this charity, which goes towards helping women, men and children everywhere affected by HIV and AIDS.

The Viva Glam Nicki is also limited edition, and as a second lipstick has already been released by Nicki Minaj since this one, I’m wondering if this lipstick will be around for much longer.

Anyhoo, onto the details of this lipstick!

DSC_0009

DSC_0006

MAC describes Viva Glam Nicki as a bright yellow pink and is a satin finish. As mentioned before the pictures above, this product is limited edition but its been out for about a year now, so if you’re pining after this lipstick, I’d say snatch it up as soon as possible! Or keep reading to the end of this post for advice on the perfect dupe of this lipstick. It comes in the classic black bullet but instead of silver, its red, which is for MAC’s Aids Fund. As well as that, like all Viva Glam celebrity lipsticks, inside Nicki Minaj’s signature can be found across the red of the bullet. I love the black and red look of this, as I think it makes a nice change to the stand black and silver bullet.

This lasts AGES on the lips due to it being a satin and I find if you blot it and reapply, it can last even longer. Out of all my satin MAC lipsticks (Rebel and Daddy’s Little Girl being the other two) this one is the hardest to work with and it took me a while to get used to its formulation. I don’t know if it was just me who suffered/suffers with this but I’ve only recently got to terms with how to use this to the best of my ability. This is a great lipstick though when you get used to applying it to the lips, as I found it could be rather drying and it would sometimes feather too. I usually pop a clear lip gloss over the top of this to give my lips a bit more moisturisation, which is nice.

I think Viva Glam Nicki is a hard colour to work with, as it’ll either suit you or it won’t. This will look beautiful on yellow, olive and dark skin tones, but I feel it would flush out someone with really light skin, as it’s such a yellow toned pink. I’m surprised it suites my skin tone (yellow toned) and I feel rather grateful that it does! I especially think this would look lovely on dark skin tones as it’s such a beautiful light coral pink, the sort of thing you would catch Barbie wearing!

This is the least used of my MAC lipsticks because it was so hard to work with over the spring and summer and now autumn and winter are upon us, I like to wear dark lip colours, so this probably won’t be used all that much. I could see me trying to wear it more during work because it is a lovely, bubbly lip colour and something I could get away with, unlike my other MAC lipsticks.

Like all the MAC lipsticks this smells just like sugary doughnuts, but to many it smells of vanilla. Either way the MAC lipsticks smell and taste delicious, which is just an added bonus in my book.

Although I do like this lipstick and it makes a change to my usual dark shades, I wouldn’t re purchase it because it just doesn’t seem to be me and plus after buying this I realised my Maybelline lipstick in shade Shocking Coral (review here) is an exact dupe for Viva Glam Nicki, which to be honest pissed me off a little bit.

This being said I always put on my Viva Glam Nicki lipstick over Shocking Coral.

It retails for £15.00 from MAC but as I said I got mine from Debenhams on one of their % off sales on beauty. Keep your eyes peeled for these, they’re great for when you want to get yourself a bargain.

Viva Glam Nicki EditI think in future I’m going to make more of a habit of wearing this lipstick as I do really like wearing it. It’s creamy to apply, lasts ages and is a gorgeous light coral pink. Perfect for the summer and even perfect for winter! I’m going to try and wear it more as the summer fades away and we make way for autumn, which will bring out my hot pink and plum shades.

What do you think of Viva Glam Nicki? Do you own it, if not have you had your eye on it? Please let me know in the comments down below!

As I said at the start of this post, this will be my last MAC lipstick review until I can afford to purchase another. However next Thursday I’ll have a list of MAC lipsticks I want to try out and (fingers crossed) buy in the future. So make sure to keep your eyes peeled for that!

Until next time, take care and have a good week everyone!
