It’s the first day of 2020 and I am spending it in the laziest way possible… Sat on my cuddle chair, in my pyjamas and wrapped in a blanket. I don’t think I can get any cosier to be perfectly honest with you. š
I decided to do an overall top favourites post for 2019, as December doesn’t have anything special on it that my January 2020 favourites won’t miss out on in a months time. I didn’t so a December 2018 favourites last year and no one missed it to be fair.
I really love writing my favourites post, I can reflect over the month on things I loved and I enjoy writing about them too and sharing with you all. However, 2019 wasn’t a good year for reading for me. I seem to have been too busy seeing friends or chilling on games, my phone or watching something on the TV… Which is a shame. 2020 is the year I will be trying to read a hell of a lot more! I do miss reading my favourite manga series as soon as the books come out in the UK, but at least 2020 means I will haveĀ more to read now… See, past Nat was doing future Nat a massive favour! š
Anyhoo, no more nattering, it’s time to show off my op 3 from 2019, as well as runner ups. š I really hope you enjoy the first post of 2020!

So that’s all of the my favourite items of 2019! I honestly can’t believe it’s 2020 now! I’ve spent most of the day relaxing, writing and talking to my mom on FaceTime. Can it really get any better than that? š
What were your favourite items from 2019? I’d love to hear!
This evenings post is something I have wanted to write about for a while. I’ve been a gamer since the age of 5 and proud of that! My first console was a Super Nintendo Electronic System (SNES for short), which I still own to this day! Soon after that I was gifted a Game Boy, with a Tetris cartridge in. I loved that game so much, I never got bored of the games music either. š
There’s quite a lot of games coming out this year and even next year that I’m already excited about, so I thought I would share those here with you all! I talk a lot about gaming to be honest with you… In the “real world” if you will, but I feel like I never talk about gaming on my blog as much as I would like to. I want this to change and in the future I would even love to film myself playing some games to pop up on YouTube!
I know not a lot of people can afford games, or are interested enough in them to play them themselves and just want to see the story. I’m like that myself to be honest with you. I’m really interested in Cyberpunk 2077 BUT the reason it didn’t make it onto this list is because I doubt I will play it and instead I would watch my boyfriend Dane play it instead. I’ve done this time and time again with games and I have zero regrets.
Let’s start talking about the games! This post will be a long one. š
Untitled Goose Game – Out 20th September 2019 Nintendo Switch (link)
This is a game that I’m gutted I never got to play at EGX… I’ve seen people playing it and watched videos of trailers etc but as of yet I have not had the chance to try. I’m not going to lie, I had forgotten all about this game to be honest with you! It’s only from looking at my EGX post last year that I discovered it again. This is a goose simulator game, where your task is to annoy humans as much as possible! You get tasks you have to do to complete the level. I cannot believe this is out next week! I hope it is in the UK anyway… If so I will be buying it and spending my weekend playing it with Dane. Apparently this is available on Steam too, but I’ll be getting it for the Switch.
I Love You, Colonel Sanders! A Finger Lickinā Good Dating Simulator – Out 24th September 2019 on Steam (link)
This game was announced this morning. I read about it on Twitter and I am already smitten with the idea of this game. I’m not like a massive KFC fan or anything, but the fact this is a dating sim game AND it is made by KFC makes me fucking laugh. It’s out in a couple of weeks (again, hopefully in the UK again as well) and not only do I plan on getting it, but I also plan on filming myself playing this game. I’m so damn excited for it, that I need to share the shits and giggles of playing it with others.
Luigi’s Mansion 3 – Out 31st October 2019 on Nintendo Switch (link to Smyths)
I’ve never played the Luigi’s Mansion games, but I’ve always wanted to! I never played the first game as it was around when I didn’t own a GameCube and I never played the second one because I didn’t play the first one! I’m pretty sure you don’t need to know the story to play this game. You’re Luigi (the better of the two plumber brothers, in my opinion!) with a Ghostbusters style kit and you’re in a haunted mansion. What more is there to explain, really? This isn’t a game I plan to rush out and buy the date it comes out, but if I found it at a decent price I’d definitely pick it up to play with Dane, as this is a two player game! I love that this is out over Halloween! Perfect timing to be honest with you. If a demo comes out I’ll definitely give that a go.
Pokemon Sword & Shield – Out 15th November 2019 on Nintendo Switch (link to Smyths here, here and here)
This game is already on pre-order and I’ve even bought both of the games, one for me and one for Dane! Of course for the time being I’ll be sharing Dane’s Switch (which we have been doing since he bought it in 2018) alongside him to play this game! I still don’t know which game I want to play yet, but for me it will entirely depend on which game has the best exclusives. I’m very much excited for these games though, as I have a feeling Pokemon have learnt from how lame Sun and Moon were and worked really hard to bring us better game play. Gyms are back and we also have some new features in Sword and Shield! I’m definitely swaying towards Sword though. š
Alchemic Cutie – Out 2019 on Steam (link to Steam)
At EGX last year I gave this game a go and I really enjoyed playing it! It reminds me of Animal Crossing with the game style and is a very relaxing game. You live on an island that is home of jellies, which you must go out and tame to make them your own. Then once you have these jellies you can participate in competitions with them and more! It was definitely a cool little game I played during EGX and one that stood out to me the most. There isn’t an official release date yet, but it just says 2019 at the moment. I’ll definitely be keeping my eyes peeled on this, I really like relaxing games, especially after a long day at work.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Out 20th March 2020 on Nintendo Switch (link to Smyths)
I don’t think I need to say a whole lot about this game. Everyone knows how much I love Animal Crossing and just how damn excited I am for New Horizons to come out on the Switch. As of yet I haven’t actually pre-ordered the game, as I’m praying that Nintendo will release a Switch console (normal or the Lite) to coincide with the new game. Even if it doesn’t, I’ll still be happy, but either way I would still pick myself up a Switch of my own as I would like one for playing games like this. I know Dane is planning on picking up New Horizons too so that we can play this together. This looks like there’s so much more to do now than ever before and alongside the old school Animal Crossing, it also reminds me of Minecraft too, where you need to craft and build things. Honestly, I can’t stop thinking about this game and for the time being I am trying to keep my Animal Crossing cravings at bay with Pocket Camp! š
Next we have Calico, a game that I backed over on Kickstarter quite a while ago now! I stumbled across this game and after keeping my eyes on it for a couple of days, I decided to back! Again, as the game’s name explains, Calico is a game about two magical girls who are running cat cafes. This game reminds me of Animal Crossing, where you need to look after your cafe, whilst gathering cats and other animals from the woods nearby to host in your cafe. You can also create massive animals too who you can ride, including a red panda! I am so excited for this to come out in April and I although it is available on all consoles, I decided to get it on the Switch, as this is a console I have really loved playing my games on of late. š
To The Rescue! A Dog Shelter Simulator – Out August 2020 on Steam (link to KickstarterĀ and Steam)
Finally we have the last game on this post! I’ve actually backed this game on Kickstarter. It was one I wasn’t sure about and due to that ummed and ahhed for ages about it. I’m glad I backed it in the end however, as I think I would have regretted it. As the title of the game tells you, this is a dog shelter simulator game and as you would in a dog shelter, you look after any dogs that come in, try to get them adopted and more. There is even a point in the game where you may need to put a dog to sleep if it’s not adoptable, or been at the shelter too long. However, this is a an optional option for the game, so if you don’t want to do anything like this, you don’t have to. This game isn’t going to be out for just under a year now, which is crazy! It’ll be worth the wait though.
So those are all the games I am excited for for the remainder of 2019, as well as 2020! I didn’t quite realise how many games I’m hyped for until writing this post, as well as how many I have pre-ordered.
Which games are you excited for? Make sure to let me know in the comments.
Until next time, take care all and I hope you’ve had a great week so far!
Hello and welcome to the second post of the Japan Series! I posted last month on my blog the exciting news about how me and Dane are FINALLY going to Japan in 2020. It still hasn’t sunk in, but almost daily we are talking about it and where we want to go, whether it be to visit, shop, eat and drink.
We are constantly asking people and researching. I thought I would share with my gorgeous readers where we are planning to go and why!
This is a place I have wanted to visit ever since I heard about many years ago. I LOVE Studio Ghibli so much and alongside Elfen Lied it’s what actually got me into anime in the first place! I have fond memories of my dad and me watching Spirited Away one day after school during a rain storm outside. Years later I bought it on DVD and not long after me and Dane got together, I took the DVD to his house so we could watch it. I even want a tattoo of Haku on my bicep! It’s just a film I adore to the bottom of my heart. The museum apparently isn’t mind blowing, but I don’t care. I still plan to go! You have to book tickets a month in advance, so Dane has daily reminders a month before we’re off to Japan to book the tickets so we don’t miss out! I plan (if I’m allowed to do so!) to take loads of photos of the museum and possibly spend a little bit too much money in the gift shop. š
These gorgeous light museums are somewhere I have wanted to visit for quite some time now and I am so excited to finally have the chance to go when we visit Japan. I’m not a massive museum or art exhibition person… I can at times find them quite boring, but these interactive light installations look amazing. You can download an app to use alongside the experience, which I really like the look and sound of. You need to book in advance and from memory it said two months, so myself and Dane will be keeping our eyes peeled for when we can book!
This is a place I’ve ummed about for ages because I really want to go, but I don’t know if I love Sanrio enough to… In the end however, I would really love to go! It looks like it’s a good day out to go and explore, see a couple of shows (maybe) and just go around the area. Of course there’s lots of shopping to be done throughout too. I say I don’t love Sanrio, but I do have a lot of memories with Sanrio. I remember back when I was coming towards the end of primary school and in my first couple of years of secondary school, I adored Sanrio and couldn’t get enough of it! I fell in love with Chococat, Cinnamoroll (alongside his friends Azuki, Milk, Chiffon, Espresso, Mocha and Cappuccino) who came out in the early 00’s and especially Pompompurin! The most recent character Aggretsuko is amazing and I adore her so much. The more I write and think about it, the more I really would like to go to Puroland whilst we’re in Japan!
This is somewhere in Japan I REALLY want to go to but I don’t know if it’s going to happen or not… Basically Nara Park is located in Nara, which is nearly 4 and a half hours away by train… Unless we get up really early and go to Nara for a day… I don’t know if we’ll be able to go or not. In Nara Park you can feed the deer that live there. They bow their heads for food and as a reward, you feed them. Both me and Dane love animals, so it’s something we would both love to do whilst we’re out there. I feel like Dane will sort it so we can go, but I’m worried it won’t be able to happen… We shall see! š
This isn’t somewhere me and Dane thought about going before the tragic arson attack that happened at Kyoto Animation on the morning of 18th July 2019. We LOVE loads of anime that has been released by Kyoto Animation such as K-ON!, Nichijo, Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions, A Silent Voice, Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid and Violet Evergarden. It broke out hearts when we heard about what had happened to the studio and it still to this day upsets me. It hurts even more that the director of Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon MaidĀ died in the attack of Kyoto Animation. This is by far one of my favourite anime and manga series to date and I know they had just started to work on a second season too. I want to go and pay my respects to be honest and I’m hoping that when we’re out in Japan, Kyoto Animation will have begun to rebuild and me and Dane will be able to see how it’s forming and growing again.
This is somewhere I really do want to go to in Japan… However I am also shit scared. I’m not a massive fan of heights in all honesty and I especially hate using lifts. Of course, both of these need to be used when it comes to visiting the Tokyo Skytree. This being said I know Dane really wants to go and visit this whilst we’re in Japan and to be honest with you, I would hate to come back from our trip and think, “I wish we had gone and done it now.” So yes, I will suck it in and go! If anything whilst I will be scared, I know I’ll also love it!
Honestly guys, I could go on for hours about all the places in Japan that me and Dane plan to visit, but I could be here for ages and would definitely bore you all! š These are the main places we plan to go and would love to go whilst we’re in Japan.
Our holiday STILL hasn’t sunk in for me and honestly, it won’t until we’re boarding the plane and I’m beginning to have a mini panic attack!
What do you think to the places both me and Dane would like to visit in Japan? Make sure to let us know in the comments and hey! Even suggest any if you’ve visited Japan yourselves!
Next time I plan to talk about food and drinks places we plan to visit, including cafes! š
Until next time, take care all and I hope you have a lovely weekend.
EGX is currently halfway through and I am so excited to say I’ll be there on Sunday for the first time ever! I’m pretty damn stoked to finally be attending EGX.
It was my best friends idea for us all to go (us two and our boyfriends) together for one day and we settled on Sunday.
For those of you who may not know what EGX is, it’s the UK’s biggest games event and it’s running from Thursday 20th until Sunday 23rd September at the NEC Birmingham.
It’s only the UK’s biggest video games event! Come along and you’ll find the most anticipated console and PC games, all playable weeks or months before they’re released. We also have presentations by game designers from world renowned studios, areas dedicated to esports, the opportunity to meet and chat with game creators and loads more.
I’ve heard about it on and off over the years but never really been bothered about going and instead would book and go to Hyper Japan or Comic Con. After my friend suggested the idea though, I was down for that!
Since booking the tickets about a month ago now I’ve been checking up on their social media and website every other day for updates on what games are going to be there and each time I look there’s a better announcement! I honestly cannot wait for Sunday now.
So, I thought I would write a blog post about what I’m excited for at EGX and why! I might also get Dane to talk about some games he’s excited about too, because why not! š
I’m just going to jump straight into it and I’ll also include trailers for games too. This is going to be a long lists, so I apologise in advance for all the waffling I’ll be doing. š
Kingdom Hearts III – Out 29/01/2019 on PlayStation 4
Although I’ve on and off played the first Kingdom Hearts game, I have always been intrigued by the game series and would love to finally get into it now the third one is finally coming out! My best friend Gabriella loves this series so even if I’m not all arsed about going to play it, I know she’ll want to play it! Even if I don’t give it a go, I’d love to watch her try the demo.
LEGO DC Super-Villains – Out 19/20/2018 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch
I’ve actually already preordered this game as I just fancied getting it for me and Dane to play together on lazy evenings and weekends in. I can’t wait to be honest with you as I remember back to one of the first LEGO games, Batman where they allowed you to be the good guys AND the bad guys. I LOVED being the baddies so damn much and since then they haven’t seemed to do that again as well. So when this was announced I knew I had to get it. I’m unsure if I’ll play the demo for the game as before I know it I’ll have it, BUT if I find we’re bored and want something to do, I’d definitely go and give the demo a play!
Life is Strange 2 – Out 27/09/2018 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Steam
If there was a game I adored it was Life is Strange. It wasn’t particularly unique but it was definitely something different at the time and no one else was really doing it and if they were clearly not as well. The graphics and mouth work of the game is pretty poor, but the story really does make it worth it! Although this will be out less than a week after we attend EGX, I still wouldn’t mind giving the demo a go to see what the game play it like before I buy the game. The story seems to be completely different to the first game, but I hope that they include Max into this story somehow. I can’t wait for this come out, I’ll be buying it when it comes out.
Mario Tennis Aces – Out now on Nintendo Switch
This game is out now and has been for a while but EGX are giving people the chance to play it, which is pretty cool. I really want this game but 1. I don’t know if it’s worth the price and 2. I don’t know if I’ll actually enjoy it! I’d definitely like to give this a play whenever I get the chance to and if I enjoy it I’ll definitely want it more than ever! I wanted it to play alone, as well as with Dane but he isn’t as arsed about getting it as I am.
Persona 3: Dancing In Moonlight and Persona 5: Dancing In Starlight – Out 04/12/2018 on PlayStation 4
If there is a game series I fast fell in love with almost 2 years ago, it’s Persona and it’s all thanks to Persona 5. So when they announced the dance game for the fifth game I was so damn happy! I’ve finished Persona 5, and about halfway through (and severely fucking stuck!) on Persona 4: Golden. I also own the Persona 4 dance game and really enjoy it. I love the Phantom Thieves so I’m so excited to see more of them before they’re gone completely. Although I haven’t yet played Persona 3, I would still love to give the demo a play to see what it’s like. I’ll definitely be playing the Persona 5: Dancing In Starlight demo, no matter what. This is actually a game I haven’t preordered yet and it’s pretty much because Dane wants it as a possibly Christmas present idea. The cutie. š
Pokemon Let’s Go! Eevee and Pokemon Let’s Go! Pikachu – Out 16/11/2018 on Nintendo Switch
Oh man as soon as this game was announced and released for preorder I was on that ASAP! There were rumours that this game was going to be coming out on the Switch when leaks popped up all over the internet. I won’t lie, I thought it was bullshit and would just become another 3DS game or nothing at all. Alas, I was wrong and it was announced a mere few days later for the Switch. I’m stoked for this to be honest with you and I’ve ordered the Eevee version, of course with the PokeBall! I’m unsure if I want to try the demo of this or not. I really want to, especially if you can play with the PokeBall but at the same time I really want a surprise… I’m more than sure I’ll end up going to play it… Got to get my Pokemon fix a few months in advance. š
Spyro Reignited Trilogy – Out 13/11/2018 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4
Oh man I have been so excited for this game since it was announced months ago! Of course I was gutted when it got pushed back, especially as I’d have been playing it right now! I’m not bothered loads about playing this at EGX BUT if I find I’m bored and want something to do, I’d definitely go and give this a play if I had the chance to.
Untitled Goose Game – Release date TBC but sometime in 2019 on Nintendo Switch and Steam
If there is a game I definitely want to have a go on, it’s this goose game! The release date hasn’t been announced yet but I’m hoping it’ll be sooner rather than later. This is such a fun looking game and I wish it was 2 player so you could be evil geese together. You play as an annoying goose who is terrorising and trolling people in a village. It appears that you do each part of the village in levels/stages and have to do certain tasks before you can move on. Overall it just looks like a really fun game and is definitely one I’ll be getting on the Switch in the future.
Now onto the indie games! I would do what I did previously with the other games and post videos and talk a little about them but there are so many games I’m interested in that sadly I won’t be able to do that as there are just too many. I will of course list them all down below! Whether or not I end up playing them all or not is another thing, but they’re definitely games I’ll be trying out! Anything that is bold are games I’m more interested in than others.
Alchemist Cutie
Bee Kind
Beyond Blue
Billie Bust Up
Catastronaughts
Doggo
Figment
Flashing Lights
Flotsam
Heaven’s Vault
Honey, I Joined A Cult
How To Kill Monsters
Inmost
Kingdom: Two Crowns
Meridian Line
Mice On Venus
Misfolded
My Time At Portia
Nippon Marathon
Obviously Inappropriate Content
Phoenix Point
Phogs
Primetime Detective
Soundfall
Stay
Those Who Remain
Tony Slopes
War Groove
We Were Here Together
What The Golf?
Wrong World
Of course as well as playing games there will be plenty of opportunities to take photos at special stands and from what I’ve seen so far these include Kingdom Hearts, Fallout 76 and many more!
They also have merchandise stands and I know that Insert Coin Clothing will be there who I’m sure I’ve mentioned on my blog in the past. There will be more merchandise stands there who I’ll be checking out whenever I get the chance to.
Overall I think it’s going to be a super busy day and I don’t honestly know what to expect at this moment in time… After viewing Twitter the past couple of days the event seems super busy with nothing but queues, mostly at the bigger games such as Kingdom Hearts III and Pokemon Let’s Go!
I am to check out all the indie games first and then focus on the bigger games, as I can only imagine everyone will run to the bigger stuff first! Most of the games I’d want to play I’ve preordered and are out soon anyways. Indie games are always worth supporting and trying before buying.
Either way, I know I’ll have an amazing time and quite honestly I can’t wait!
I’ll pop all of the EGX links down below for anyone who may want to follow on social media, or even book tickets so you can come to the event yourselves!
Are you attending/attended EGX at all? If so what are you looking forward to the most/what did you enjoy the most? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below or over at my Twitter – @maybeecoffee
Until next time, take care all and I hope you all have a lovely weekend!
If there is one thing I would love to write more about on my blog, it’s games and how much I love gaming! I love it just as much as reading manga, watching anime and even writing on my blog! š
I really want to start writing more about games and I intend to write more about it all from now on, but please bear with me as it might take me a while to these kind of blog posts written.
For now though I will be writing about games I’m excited for in the future. I won’t just be talking about 2018, but I’ll be going into 2019 too as a couple of games I’ll be mentioning here won’t be out until then.
Marvel’s Spider-Man – Out September 7th 2018 on PlayStation 4
What a way to kick start this list! When this was first announced I was so nostalgic and excited! One of the first games I played fully on my PlayStation was Spider-Man and I loved it so much. Looking back I actually think it was this game that started off my love of superheroes and comic book characters. When E3 showed a trailer for it this year it just made me even more excited for it to come out. This is a game me and Dane have on pre-order already and we cannot wait to play it together. I’m not going to lie, I also wanted the limited edition Spider-Man PS4 that is coming out with the game too, but meh money. The game just looks impressive and I really hope it brings back the nostalgic feels of 10 year old Nat playing the first PlayStation Spider-Man game in her bedroom after school and on weekends.
Super Mario Party – Out October 5th 2018 on Nintendo Switch
If there’s a game me and Dane have always loved playing together on both the Nintendo Wii and the 3DS it’s the Super Mario Party games! They’re great for playing on lazy Sunday’s, at parties and just in general when you want to play a game but don’t have a clue what to play exactly. We’ve wanted some more games for the Switch but we’re a bit stumped as to what 2 player games we can get, but now we’ve noticed this is coming out we’ll probably get it around Christmas time!
LEGO DC Super-Villains – Out October 19th 2018 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch
I’m a saddo, I love the LEGO games but who COULDN’T not love the LEGO games to be honest with you?! They’re really chilled to play, funny and great for anyone of any age to play. Since the first LEGO games came out I’ve played the majority of them. Over the years I’ve not bought them as much to play but I love specific ones such as Harry Potter (even though I’m not a massive HP fan!), Star Wars and LOTR’s and The Hobbit. I remember playing the first LEGO Batman game where you could play as both good and bad characters. I loved being able to play as a villain so the fact that we now have a game dedicated to it is pretty awesome! š I’ll definitely be pre ordering this sooner rather than later!
Spyro Reignited Trilogy – Out November 13th 2018 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One
I’m not going to lie, as I was starting to write this post yesterday I got an email from where I pre ordered this from letting me know that the release date has been pushed back. I’m gutted but it’s for decent reasons! Toys For Bob have stated that it won’t be perfect for their original release date (21st September 2018) so that’s the reason for pushing it back. I’m still gutted though, I was so excited to play this game on my day off work as well as for that weekend. Meh I guess I’ll just have to wait. It just kind of sucks that it’s out a couple of days before Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee. I can’t play two games at exactly the same time! š I loved the Spyro games growing up, especially Spyro 2 and I was super excited to play it! Alas I’ve got to wait now until November… Unless I dig out the original and give that a go.
Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee! & Pokeball Plus – Out November 16th 2018 on Nintendo Switch
This is definitely the game I am most excited about on this list! I remember when the first trailer came out for it and Dane woke me up at 6am to show me the video on his phone! I was pissed off that he woke me up so early, but when I realised what it was for I was ecstatic! I love that there are 2 versions to choose from, but I knew I wanted Eevee. I pre ordered this as soon as I found it at a decent price for both the game and the Pokeball Plus! Smyths is the best place to get it from as you save Ā£5.00 on your order if you go and collect in store. I’m glad it’s now a new story and really like that they’re following Pokemon Yellow. The thing I think that I love the most is that it’s two player so me and Dane can play the game together! It’s amazing that they brought this into the game and it’s something I’ve wanted the Pokemon games to have for the longest time. I honestly cannot wait to play this with Dane when it comes out! This is a game I’ll be talking about for ages on my blog when it’s out.
Persona 5: Dancing In Starlight – Out 4th December 2018 on PlayStation 4
YES THIS FINALLY HAS A RELEASE DATE! Ahem… Apologies… BUT I have been so on edge about when this game is coming out and I didn’t think it was going to be until 2019 to be honest with you. Thankfully it’ll be out before the end of 2018 and I am super happy about that! I loved Persona 5 so much and it’s for sure become one of my favourite game series alongside Pokemon! This is out in Japan now and has been since May (from memory…) which is pretty cool, but it means trying to avoid any of the story etc. I’m currently playing Persona 4: Dancing All Night and so far it’s been more story than game play, which is bleh. I wouldn’t mind story in Persona 5 though! š This is something I really want to pre order but… I probably shouldn’t. I know this would make an ideal Christmas present for someone who doesn’t know what to buy me, but all the same I WANT IT! š We shall see, I’ll soon update you guys on if I’d pre ordered it.
Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth – Release date TBC out on Nintendo 3DS
This only recently got announced at the start of August and loads of Persona fans have been excited for it and since it being revealed, the community has gone CRAZY! I’m not going to lie I’m yet to play Persona Q: Shadow Of The Labyrinth and I really want to download it asap to play! I wanted to actually pick up the physical copy of the game to play but it costs too much these days, which in turn sucks. With the Persona 5 babies being in this game I really need to get it to play! As I said in the title, it’s yet to be given a release date here in the UK, but as soon as I find out, I’ll be pre ordering it for sure.
So there are my seven games that I’m actually really excited about coming out! Whilst writing this post I was talking to Dane about which games I was going to add and asked him to give me a hand as I was worried I was forgetting some games. Alas I was and he reminded me of quite a few! He asked me if he could mention a couple of games he’s excited for too, so I said he could to round up this post.
Shenmue I & II – Out August 21st 2018 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One
I played the first Shenmue back on the Dreamcast and it was a groundbreaking game for its time so when I saw it up for pre order on the Xbox One store I ordered it straight away.
Battlefield 5 – Out October 19th 2018 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC
I have always preferred the Dice Battlefield games over the COD series, played BF1 for a short period but got bored after a while. Whilst I am ignoring the historically inaccuracies I am hoping the game play is a return to form.
Red Dead Redemption 2 – Out October 29th 2018 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One
There is very little I need to say about my anticipation for this. Play the first one and watch the trailers, this game will be excellent.
Fallout 76 – Out November 14th 2018 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC
The first multiplayer Fallout game. Count me in.
Thanks to Dane for adding some of the games he’s excited for! I’m equally excited for some of those too, but he’s far more excited than I am. š
What games are you looking forward to playing? Make sure to let me know in the comments!
Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re having a lovely weekend.
Not only can I believe we’re less than 2 weeks away from July, but I honestly cannot believe that E3 2018 has come and gone in the blink of an eye!
As we have done for the past couple of years me and Dane both watched and kept up with E3 2018 as much as we could. In all honestly I was quite disappointed with E3 this year. The majority of presentations were poor, some lacked any information on games or didn’t even show anything new, whilst others didn’t seem professional at all. We’ll talk more about this later.
Not only did we keep up with the couple of days that E3 had their conferences on, but we also kept up to date with YouTube channels such as IGN to keep up with any games that were announced outside of those conferences.
Like we did last year, we’ll take it in turns to talk about certain conferences, as well as favourite announcements this year. I don’t want to do it like we did last year and have me talk for ages and then Dane, I want it to be a mixture of us both!
As I would have said on last years post, I really hope you enjoy reading this post as much as we both enjoyed working on it together. Let’s throw ourselves into it! I’ll be the one talking majority of the time, I’ll state if Dane is chatting about anything. š
So EA were the ones who kick started us off for E3 2018 and whilst they did a good job, I do feel like it could have been better. I personally loved EA last year because of how much they spoke about Battlefront II, which at the time I was SO excited about! I was also pretty excited for the announcement of Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, which sounds incredibly cool and exciting! Also Unravel 2 being announced was pretty awesome and it’s a game I can see me and Dane playing in the future.
Dane – EA, what happened to you? I think the only good thing that came out of it was Unravel 2. Battlefield:V has a battle-royale mode now. It looks like a typically good Dice game, but don’t try and force shit that didn’t happen in a historical setting and act like it could’ve happened. Also fuck them for ruining Command and Conquer. I fucking hate what they did to a beloved franchise.
To me alongside Bethesda, Microsoft brought it to E3 2018 and they were both the best this year by far! There was loads of announcements during Microsoft that I got so damn excited for. The first one that comes to mind is Battletoads. I used to play this on my Nintendo SNES growing up and I have so many fond memories of playing it, so now I can’t wait for it to be out on the Xbox to play with Dane. Another game that I cannot wait to download next week when it comes out isĀ The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit. It’s by the same guys behind Life Is Strange AND is also in the same universe as that game. I am incredibly excited for it already!Ā Forza Horizons 4 is set in the UK and although I’m not a massive player of the Forza Horizon 3, I want to play this game now so I can play in the UK in autumn. š We Happy Few is a game I’d like to give a go as it really reminds me of Bioshock and I LOVE that story so damn much… Whether I do or not is another story. I think overall though my favourite game that was announced at Microsoft is definitely Tunic, who is a cute little fox with a sword… Think Zelda but in fox form. š I cannot wait for it to come out to play, I just wish it was on my PlayStation 4 but meh, whatever. š
Dane – Microsoft killed it this year, largely due to the fact that there was a lot of shit this year (looking at you PlayStation and EA!). I think Microsoft always have a good show and always present it well, they do just struggle with exclusives and giving gamers something to really talk about. This year though, they teamed up with a lot of individual studios to showcase their games, even going as far as buying them up and incorporating them within Microsoft Studios. Definitely excited about Fallout 76 though, I like the move towards multiplayer but the no NPCs is a interesting format which we will have to wait and see. Halo: Infinite didn’t really get me excited as Halo: 5 was mediocre, just hope 343 industries can do something good after their separation from Bungie. Session was an interesting announcement, lets hope it fills the void Skate left after EA did its thing to Black Box Studios. The biggest and best hype for me though was the trailer for Cyberpunk 2077. It was actually announced several years ago and with them showing codes for Witcher 3 (with DLC) hidden in the trailer was a smart move.
Now onto my favourite conference of E3 2018, Bethesda. Oh man they just brought so much to the table this year, especially in comparrison to last year. Their conference last year bored me and was just bland. This year not only did they shock us all with Fallout 76 and what they have planned for it, but they also revealed that Elder Scrolls 6 is in the works! I remember back when Morrowind was out how me and my cousins would play it all together. Then when Oblivion came out I played it so much, on both my laptop and my PS3! Then Skyrim came out and I was so disappointed by it. My dad had bought it me for Christmas the year it came out and I was gutted. It just didn’t play like the previous two had and recently I parted ways with it and took it to GAME. Now that we have something new and fresh on the way, I’m so fucking excited! As for Fallout 76, oh man it’s hella exciting for gamers alike who have loved the Fallout games for many years. They’re bringing so many exciting things for us to do on the game, but at the same time I worry about what it could cause. Are you going to build up your game play only to have it blown up by some dickhead who got the nuclear codes? Maybe, maybe not. We shall soon find out as this game will be out before we know it! Speaking of, how fucking cool is the power armour helmet that comes out with the limited edition game?? OH and one more game I’m excited for? Doom Eternal, but only for the music. HELL NO would I play that game! xD
Dane – My God. All good things and it was well presented, Todd Howard knows how to please. Fallout 76, Elder Scrolls: Blades, some new faraway game called Starfield and Elder Scrolls 6! What I really care about is a sequel to motherfucking Doom. Doom: Eternal ’nuff said. Motherfuckers.
Now we’d talk about Square Enix but we didn’t watch it… We know they would have shown Kingdom Hearts 3, but who the hell didn’t?! I’m not arsed about the Kingdom Hearts games and have played Kingdom Hears 1.5 on my PS3 in the past. It was fun to play but I don’t know if it was for me. I’m not a huge fan of the Final Fantasy games, which are practically the same but with Disney. When it’s cheap enough in the future I’ll probably pick it up.
So onto Ubisoft! The start of their conference to me really worked and it got me excited for what was to be announced throughout. I’ve never played a Just Dance game and I didn’t really know what they were advertising with all the dancing. When Dane suggested it, I wondered how I hadn’t thought of that myself. Either way, it was really cool and I love when people do things like this! To be honest apart from this the only game I was at all interested in was Skull and Bones, which looks like so much fun! Other than that, meh I’m not arsed. Let’s put it this was, near the end of the Skull and Bones talks, I fell to sleep. š
Dane – Zzzzz… Oh Ubisoft are on. They’ve announced a game set in Ancient Greece, that’s surpri… wait those animations look like Assassins Creed… Wait! It is Assassins Creed! *Sigh* I know they need to do something to differentiate the games as their formula started to suck but it no longer feels like you’re an assassin. It just looks like a standard adventure game set in Greece. Division 2 was also unsurprisingly announced with a very boring fake game play showcase. I wish the Tom Clancy games would go back to realism and make a single bullet count. Why can’t they make it play like Wildlands?
I didn’t watch the PC Gaming Show, but Dane did…
Dane – A few things… I am now once again a PC gamer. I should probably do another post on that because a lot has changed. I also have VR… so yeah. Segue! Stormlands is the new full VR experience from Insomniac Games. It looks pretty sweet, like Lone Echo but open world. Cyanide and Happiness have an isometric battle royale game, that should be fun. There is a Shark game, where you’re a shark. Odd. Satisfactory a first person Factorio clone looks interesting. Something about Sega releasing some recent-ish games on PC. Star Citizen released a trailer to a game that will be too big to ever be completed. Erm. Can’t really remember much else.
Finally we are coming down to the last 2 and what were the conferences I was the most excited for, as I am every year. Sony is the first one we will be talking about. I wasn’t disappointed by what Sony showed, but by the way they showed it. Every conference before it had spoken about most of the games it showed, or at least announced release dates. Did Sony did that? Nope. I was sad that they didn’t at least talk about new games they revealed. I was excited for a couple of games that they revealed, which include The Last Of Us II, which I have been so excited for since they announced it about 2 years ago. Spider-Man is also another game I was excited for but I have mixed feelings about it at the moment… It reminds me of the first Spider-Man game that came out on PlayStation many years ago now. I played it religiously and I loved it so much! I like the look of the one and especially of the nostalgia is gives me, but meh… I need to see more. Finally we have Death Stranding, a game I’m interested in because I want to know what the hell happens! I was disappointed that we didn’t get to hear about this game. Looking at it and seeing lots more footage for it is amazing, yes. But come on guys! We want to HEAR ABOUT IT TOO!
Dane – Sony, Sony, Sony. I have never liked you. This year though only reinforces that feeling. You were so boring and didn’t show us anything of value, you have your exclusives and decent IPs but what good is that if you have a conference like that. TLOU 2 looks pretty good, too good in fact. The animation in the fight scene from the game play section was something I have never witnessed before and thinking back on it, it has to be a planned animation. It just looked too perfect. Death Stranding was the only highlight for me really, it teased so much but still leaves you with more questions. Hideo Kojima is a batshit genius and I am excited for it. Microsoft are nipping at Sony’s heels though and as much as I am glad that Sony fucked up this year I expected more from them.
Finally we are onto the last conference of E3 2018, which was BY FAR the worst out of all of them for me… Nintendo. I’m a massive Nintendo gamer, they introduced me to gaming with Tetris and Pokemon on the Game Boy, as well as Donkey Kong, Starfox and Bomberman on the SNES. Their conference was starting at 5pm on the Tuesday, which is the same time I finish work. It takes me a max of 20 minutes due to traffic to get home from work. I managed to get out on time and even got petrol on my way home. I worried I may have missed loads and regretted getting petrol, but what did I miss? SWEET FUCK ALL. All I was watching when I got in from work was Super Smash Bros. They must have spoken about this game for at least an hour and it wasn’t even stuff that was THAT INTERESTING, most of it was just extras in the game. I know I’m not a fan of this game series, but who cares?! Let people play the game and discover the extras for themselves! It was obvious that Nintendo didn’t have much new to share, so instead soaked up an hour of their 2 hour conference with bloody Smash Bros. NOW I know all of us Nintendo boys and gals are disappointed that we didn’t get an Animal Crossing game announced for the Switch, but come on… Are you really surprised?! I knew we wouldn’t get an Animal Crossing game announcement. How? Well look at the phone game. If you ask me, Nintendo have run out of ideas for the game series, which is sad to admit but it’s true. I have the camper game but it bores the crap out of me and I only really play it when I’m incredibly bored. Of course I want a Switch game, but I’m not betting on it anytime soon. Whilst I was annoyed and disappointed by Nintendo, I was also happy to see some talk about Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee, which I am SO EXCITED FOR! I’ll definitely be getting the latter, as well as the special Poke Ball controller for the Switch. It’s not the RPG that Game Freak has been telling us about, but this will sure as hell tide me over until that game comes out. I’m just so excited for this and to hear more about that made up for the bullshit of Super Smash Bros that we had to endure beforehand. The game will work alongside Pokemon Go, which I have recently started playing again. I like the thought of being able to use your phone to play the game on the go and then continue when you get home by connecting it all up with the Switch. I also love the idea of playing this game with a friend, AKA Dane. I am a huge Pokemon fan and have been for as long as I can remember. I own and buy most Pokemon related games that come out and this one won’t be an exception, which I’ll also be pre ordering as soon as I can.
Dane – Nintendo this year was basically Super Smash Bros changelog V1.02. It was incredibly boring listening to the most minute detail they were adding to the next game. I don’t give a shit about that, just say we have added these characters and read this to find out more then move onto the next thing. The mini Pokemon games were the only thing of interest which had a small trailer and that was it, Nintendo were always the ones thinking out of the box and doing things for fun. This time it was just a waste of time.
So now we’ve spoken (and probably bored you all!) about the conferences, it’s time for me to briefly talk about some of my favourites that were announced outside of the conferences!
Spyro Reignited Trilogy – Out on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 21st September 2018.
One of my fondest memories of the six weeks holidays one year was playing this game day after day with my cousins and taking it in turns to beat the levels and bosses of Spyro 2! I then went on to play Spyro 3 on my own and nearly completing it 100% before my game file got corrupted and broke! I’ve since then played it fully again and completed it fully twice, once on my PS3 and once on my PS4! You get that I love Spyro, right?! š I just cannot wait for this to come out in September to be perfectly honest with you and I was so excited when I discovered game play of the game. It’s lovely to see a refreshing look at Spyro, as well as hearing Tom Kenny voicing Spyro. He voiced him in both Spyro 2 and 3 and you’ll know him as being the voice behind Spongebob and Ice King.
Tunic – Out on Xbox One and Windows release Date TBC.
I know I mentioned this game when talking about Microsoft but I just had to show it here! I remember them talking about it last year at E3 and I fell in love, so I’m so happy they showed him again! It shows they haven’t forgotten about this little cutie and I don’t think many of us gamers have either. I cannot wait to hear more about this game and I’m keeping fingers crossed it’ll be out before the end of 2018.
Dead or Alive 6 – Out on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 early 2019.
Now if there is a game series like Pokemon that I have been behind and loved since day one, it’s the Dead or Alive games! I love them so much and I laugh so much at the bouncing boobies, like we all do! I just enjoy them and they’re some of the first fighting games I really could get into and play. I also love the stories of some of the characters, especially Ayana, Tina Armstrong, Helena Douglas and definitely Kasumi. The game play itself is the best to date and we are definitely in much need of a new DoA game after 7 years! I cannot wait for it.
Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight – Out on PlayStation 4 and PS Vita early 2019.
Ā If there was one game I was hoping to see at E3 2018 it was this one! As regular readers of my blog will know, I love Persona 5 so much, so when I heard they were bringing this out I was super excited! I already have the dance game for Persona 4 and I really enjoy playing it, so God help me when this comes out! I am tied between getting it for my PS4 and my PS Vita but I think it’ll have to be my console to be honest with you, just so I can get it to go with the main game. This is a game I will be pre ordering closer to the time!
Pokeball Plus – Out for Nintendo Switch on 16th November 2018.
I didn’t really touch upon this above but I will briefly here. The Pokeball Plus wasn’t really something I was sure if I wanted, until E3! Not only will this Pokeball be limited edition (according to workers in GAME anyway…) but it will also contain Mew, the hardest Pokemon to gain in the original Pokemon series! A lot of people have stated online how their favourite part of E3 2018 was how Mew talks to Reggie during this talk. š
Pokemon: Let’s Go Pikachu and Pokemon: Let’s Go Eevee – Out on Nintendo Switch 16th November 2018.
Last but certainly not least we have what is probably one of my favourites from E3 2018 and I’m not going to talk much about it because I’ve pretty much done all of that earlier when talking about Nintendo. I just thought it would be rude not to share the YouTube video on here. š
So that is our his and hers post about E3 2018 and our highlights, as well as us bitching and moaning. š
In all honesty I don’t know if I speak for both me and Dane when I say this but this is by far the worst E3 I have watched to date and I don’t know why. It just lacked so much overall and it was disappointing because of it. I know I’m not the only one who feels this way too and it is such a shame. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVED watching E3 2018 but at the same time I felt like I wasted my time at points whilst watching it. E3 2017 just had so much more going for it. There was also some technical fuck ups that me and Dane noticed at times too during conferences, which isn’t the end of the world but it’s not exactly great, is it?!
Overall though I am so happy to see some games I’ve been hyped about the past year or two and especially happy to see them all get release dates and times!
What games did you love seeing at E3 this year? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.
I hope you’re all well and had an amazing weekend, but until next time take care!
Oh man I had to use that gif! I’ve never done this before so any time is better than no time! š
April went by so damn quick to be honest and I can’t believe that not only is May here, but that Avengers Infinity Wars is also here and breaking everyone’s hearts.
I’m off work tomorrow (YAYS!) so I’m going to have a blog and chill day. For now though I’m catching up on some housework whilst doing some blogging.
This months favourites are pretty good (in my opinion anyway!) and I’m loving everything on this list, which I hope you do too! š
Jo Malone Cologne in Earl Grey & Cucumber (review)
This is an old favourite of mine and one I tend to use on and off whenever the mood takes me. It’s one I got through my old job at Costa Coffee and since then I use it on special occasions. I think pretty much every weekend in April however, I’ve used this when going out! It’s a really strong perfume so you can use it once and it’ll last for ages! I love the scent so much and although I love it more during autumn and winter, it’s been so refreshing to use during the spring month of April!
Antipodes Deliverance Hand Cream.
I was bought this as a Christmas present back in 2015, which I know is forever ago and probably means that it’s out of date but I don’t care. š When tidying stuff in our bedroom a few weeks back I found this hand cream again and have started to use it. I use it daily now, especially at work and it’s really helped my hands with their recent spell of dryness! It smells really nice, just like lemongrass and isn’t too heavy and thick on your hands. I just love it to use throughout my shifts at work, as well as on the go. I’d definitely buy it myself.
Nivea Peach Shine & Cherry Shine Caring Lip Balm.
I would just talk about one of these this month but I love both so much equally that they both need to be spoken about! I used to use the cherry and strawberry Nivea lip balms ALL THE TIME during my final years of school! I just feel like a kid again and it’s so weird. The cherry one is tinted so you get a slight pinky/red tint, which is lovely. The peach one you don’t really get much of a tint. They both smell amazing too, which I love the most! Towards the end of the month my lips have been splitting again at the sides, so sadly I haven’t been able to use the lip balms.
Newtons Labs T-Zone Spot Zapping Gel.
This is an oldie and goldie I have loved on and off over the years. I always have a supply of it in case I break out badly and need it. I don’t know why but a couple of weeks ago my cheeks broke out so badly that I worried it was the start of acne. Thankfully due to other beauty products it’s now passed, but I do feel this tea tree gel really has helped too!
The Body Shop Strawberry Shower Gel.
This is always a firm favourite of mine and Dane bought it for me for my birthday this year. I started using it FINALLY in April and I always forget how much I love it. It reminds me of when I was a child, my mom would always buy it for me and I fondly remember using it before school most mornings when I was in primary school. It’s definitely a great shower gel to start using with spring here!
So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!
Favourite TV Show – Hitoshi Matsumoto Presents Documental Season 1.
Oh man if there is a show I have thoroughly loved and enjoyed it’s definitely Documental! Dane was watching it one morning and got me to watch the start of episode 3, I really got into it and continued to watch that episode, as well as 4 with him. I then went on to watch episode 1 and 2 on my own. Since then I’ve watched it again, as some of the moments in episode 3 and 4 are absolutely hilarious! It’s created and presented by a big Japanese comedian, Hitoshi Matsumoto. 10 Japanese comedians are locked in a room for either 6 or 9 hours and the one whose left in the room will win 10 million yen! Each comedian has taken in a million yen, which obviously makes up the prize money. The one who will win the 10 million yen needs to be the one who doesn’t laugh or smile. Some of the stuff the comedians will do to throw one another off is just amazing. I’ve seen online that there’s 3, maybe even 4 seasons now and I cannot wait for them all to come out!
Favourite Film – Black Panther and Marvel Infinity War
I know I’m talking about two Marvel films, but I just have to! First of all just before Dane’s birthday we went to see Black Panther and it’s fast turned into one of my favourite Avengers movies! There was so much action going on throughout the movie and it was perfect. I especially loved Erik Killmonger (reason why the gif is of him! :P) and he stole the show, well… Movie. š
The second film on this list is Infinity War. I’m not going to talk too much about this film here, obviously due to spoilers and shit. Let’s just say both me and Dane were really excited but nervous to go and watch it. We went in excited and unsure what to expect, but left feeling confused and depressed. Honestly I felt low the whole of Sunday, as did Dane. I think I can speak for us both when we say we want to go again soon to see it.
I love K-ON! the anime so much! So this time last year I ended up buying all of the manga because I needed more. I’ve only just recently started reading them of late however! I’m currently on Vol. 3 and loving it! I just love getting to work early most mornings and reading them before I head in. It’s also funny reading them during my shifts at work during my breaks too. I can’t wait to finish reading them however though now.
Favourite Song/Album/Artist – James Arthur.
This is thanks to the radio at work to be honest. Both of these songs come on on a daily basis and I love them so much! James Arthur has such a lovely singing voice and I’ve found myself singing along to these songs most days throughout the month. There isn’t much more music I can talk about on here really as I haven’t listened to much more in all honesty.
Favourite Game – A Way Out.
During our depressive state after Marvel Infinity Wars me and Dane decided to buy this on the Xbox One. We’ve been playing it together and we’re having so much fun. It’s about two guys and you get to pick who you play as. Leo is already in prison, but you start the game either playing as or witnessing Vincent coming into the prison. From there you have to work together to escape prison and both take on the same person who caused you to be in jail in the first place. Or something like that anyway. š
So those were my favourites for this month! I still can’t believe it’s May! There’s loads of stuff coming up in June, I’ll have to write about it towards the end of this month.
I’m sorry my April favourites are up late today, I’ve just been so incredibly busy over the weekend and yesterday, but I’m sure it’s worth the wait!
What were your favourites throughout April? Make sure to let me know in the comments!
Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re having a great week so far.
Good afternoon all, I hope you’re well! Wow I don’t usually start blog posts that way but I’m feeling something different today. š
This post has been scheduled and at this moment in time I’m watching Dirty Sanchez series 2 on Dane’s old (and I mean OLD) MacBook and it’s snowing outside. You wouldn’t think we’re almost at the end of January would you? š
I found this gamer tag by Michelle over on her blog A Geek Girl’s Guide and with the amount of gaming I do I thought it would be fun to have a go myself!

1. A game everyone loves that you canāt stand
Rocket League. I fucking hate that game and it’s for one reason… I’m really bad at it. Like atrociously bad. I can’t play it for toffee and I’ve tried over and over again and I just can’t get into it whatsoever. It reminds me of football games and they’re always rubbish. š
2. A game that you love, but no one else seems to
Probably both the DJ Hero games. š I’ve always been into club music due to my brother being a DJ when I was growing up. I remember buying the first game with the turntable and I played that game nonstop on my PS3 until I completed it. Then when DJ Hero 2 came out I was on it straight away. I’d love to play it again but meh I don’t think I can be arsed. š
3. An older game you havenāt finished, and probably never will
Tomb Raider 2… Even though I REALLY want to because I loved that game growing up! Someone messed up one of my saves on it and I was beyond gutted. I’d got to about level 7 on there and there’s a point where if she falls she just dies. You can’t grab or fuck all, she just drops to her death. Some arsehole saved the game on that and I was distraught at the time. I went back to it last year to continue but never did. I think I played the first level with Dane and that was about it.
4. A guilty pleasure game
I want to say Minecraft or Sims 4 as they’re both such relaxing games (until you set your Sims house on fire or you’re stuck in a mine with a bunch of creepers!) and you can really get lost in them for hours on end. In all fairness though it’s probably going to be Persona 5 as I can just sit and play it over and over again. š
5. A game you really love but havenāt played in a long time
Probably one of the Pokemon games or even a Lego game. I loved the Lego The Hobbit game but I haven’t played it for AGES and I would love to, but it’s on my PS3. I wish I could put it on my PS4 to play instead. š¦
6. A game you never play seriously but others do
Oh man I don’t know… I never play games seriously to be honest! š Probably something like Sims 4 and maybe Minecraft too!
7. A game you completed but hated it by the end
Life is Strange: Beyond The Storm. I was interested by the storyline and to find out more about Chloe and Rachel Amber but fuck me by the end of it I was glad it only lasted 3 episodes as they both pissed me off so much. The way they designed Rachel Amber got me the most. A spoilt brat who walks like a man (not that this is a problem it just didn’t suit her whatsoever!) and uses Chloe as much as possible. Then there’s Chloe… Don’t even get me started on Chloe. I was disappointed by the game as I feel they made the girls like that on purpose and if that’s the case they did an amazing job at pissing people off. I just love Max to be honest.
8. A game you thought youād enjoy, but didnāt
Lego Worlds. Me and Dane were so excited to pick this up as we thought it would be like Minecraft but with Lego. We love the Lego games so why would this be any different? Sadly it was and in that same instance it was awful. It felt more like you had to run around a glitchy world trying to collect as many Lego series as possible. That isn’t what it was advertised to be and due to that it was a massive disappointment.
9. A game you didnāt think was for you, and then loved
Oh man it has to be Persona 5! I had heard nothing but awesome things about it before it came out and I mentioned it time and time again to Dane to see what he thought. He’d say, “I don’t think it’s your thing Nat. It’s like the Final Fantasy games.” and sadly I can’t stand them. I hate the game play so much. So I ummed and ahhed about Persona 5 for ages and the day it came out I went to buy it from Amazon but it was sold out. A week later I found it in my local Argos and picked it up. I fell in love with the story as well as the game play and it has now gone up as one of my favourite games of ALL TIME. š
10. A game you are still excited for that hasnāt come out yet
I’m already excited for the Persona 5: Dancing Star Night to be perfectly honest! It comes out in Japan in May this year so I don’t know when we’ll get it. If it’s anything like Persona 5 was we’ll probably have it December… I CANNOT WAIT THAT LONG! :O
Another other games I’m excited for though? A Way Out looks like loads of fun and is one me and Dane would get to play together! That comes out late March. I’m SUPER excited for Detroit: Become Human but as of yet it doesn’t have a confirmed release date, which I’m gutted about as I feel like myself and others have been waiting years for this game now. š¦
So that is all the questions and my answers for the Gamer Confessions Tag!
If you want to know what Michelle’s answers were I’ll link her Gamer Confessions Tag post here.
If you fancy giving this tag a go THEN GO FOR IT! Make sure to let me know so I can read your answers, as well as letting Michelle know too!
Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re having a lovely day.
So E3 2017 has come and gone and me and Dane made sure to tune in whenever we could, missing only two live shows, which we caught up on the next day.
I’ve never watched E3 so religiously before and only ever tuning into the conferences and talks after they’ve been live. It was pretty awesome to be honest cuddling with Dane to tune into the talks and at some points we even chatted to our friend Lee via Xbox Live whilst watching the Microsoft talked. We have now both said it will be a tradition to watch E3 every year.
BUT enough of that, let’s talk about what games we’re excited for and what we thought about E3 overall!
I’ll go first! I was tempted to try to do a top 5, but that shit isn’t going to happen. I may only want a select few but Dane wants loads of games… And I can’t say I blame him. š
I have to be honest and say my favourite conference out of all of them had to be a mixture of Ubisoft and Sony, I sway more towards Ubisoft however due to two of their announcements.
I am a huge South Park fan and have been eagerly awaiting for The Fractured But Whole to come out. I’ve been waiting a year longer than expected in the first place too due to Ubisoft pushing the release date back since late 2016. A new release date has been announced though AND Ubisoft showed off another trailer for the game!
The game play and story looks like it has completely changed from the one at E3 2016. I had heard rumours that Trey Parker and Matt Stone weren’t happy with how the story was going so scraped what they had and started all over again. Although I get pissed off with having to wait for the game to come out, I am grateful that Parker and Stone want what’s best for the fans. They’ve never worked so closely with game companies when South Park games have come out in the past and they’ve commented how they regret it due to how poor they turned out. As usual from the gameplay being shown and played at E3, the guys never fail to be rude and crude and make me piss myself laughing. The footage I’ve watched is set in a strip club! You even have to do a strip dance mini game and your just constantly farting on the guys crotch. NICE! The graphics look so much better than The Stick of Truth which already makes me really happy! It just runs smoother. I’m never ever arsed about that sort of stuff either. Like the first game your character doesn’t talk and is fully customise-able. The battles are completely different now from how they used to be. You still take it in turns to fight your enemies but you can move all around the area now to attack people, which I think is pretty cool! It also looks like you’ll be able to play alongside more characters than before which is exciting! I really can’t wait for this Ā game and closer to the release date I’ll be pre-ordering it.
South Park fans were spoilt though as after The Fractured But Whole we were given the above trailer for Phone Destroyer, which is obviously a phone game. I’m just so damn excited for what this game will bring! I’ve been after a decent game to mong out and play on my phone for ages, and alas it’s finally here!
One of the first games that was announced and I was excited for was Life Is Strange Before The Storm. I LOVED Life Is Strange when it came out and I was addicted to it for a while. I loved it so much that after playing it on Dane’s Xbox I ended up buying it to play on my PS4 too. This game is a prequel to the first and follows Chloe three years before the first game and won’t contain time travel, that’s Max’s thing. We follow Chloe after her dad has died in the car accident and basically from what I can tell, how she’s dealing with it and becomes who she is when she is reunited with Max. We see her befriend Rachel and if anyone else is like me when playing Life Is Strange, I was constantly asking myself, “What the fuck happened with Chloe and Rachel? Are they lovers? Or was Chloe being clingy due to what happened to her dad and thought it was more than what it was?” I’m really excited to find out all about Rachel though as she felt like a main character in Life Is Strange even though she wasn’t existent. From what I have gathered so far though from the gameplay she heavily influenced Chloe to become the person she was when Max saw her.Ā We will find out in the prequel all about Rachel though! FYI this is not the second Life Is Strange, that is currently in development. I’m so damn excited for this game though and I WILL be getting it on PS4!
Holy shit this is a game I have been excited for for as long as I can remember now. Quantic Dream are the people behind Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls, which are both two of my favourite games! They work exclusively with Sony and PlayStation, which in turn makes me happy as I’m a PlayStation girl at heart. š Detroit: Become Human was announced a couple of years ago and since then has been worked on! I was really hoping for a release date to be announced after the trailer was shown at E3 this year, but sadly we still haven’t been given a date. From what I can gather from gameplay footage and trailers you play as various different droids who are trying to (as the name suggests) become human. They use their abilities to free the droids who aren’t able to control their abilities and basically make the world between them and human equal and fair. It looks amazing to be honest and the story behind it sounds unique and full of twists and secrets, like the previous games really. To think this game only started off as a way for Quantic Dream to show off what they were doing after Beyond: Two Souls. I’m so glad they decided to go with it though.
Do I really have to talk much about this game? It’s definitely one of my favourites that Microsoft announced during their conference. It’s a new game, Super Lucky’s Tale and it’s coming out towards the end of the year, only to Xbox One. It reminds me of Spyro and you know what? I REALLY miss games like that. I wish people would bring them back, and I’m hoping that this is just the start. It’s also equally appealing to me due to the main character being a cute little fox! I cannot wait to get this when it comes out! A part of me hopes it’s co-op so me and Dane can play it together, but I highly doubt that!
I don’t recall watching the trailer for this at first and due to that Dane was confused whenever he mentioned it to me and I didn’t get excited. “Nat you will want Ooblets!” he kept saying to me over and over again. He popped the trailer on to refresh my memory and I knew straight away that he was right, I would want it. It reminds me of Animal Crossing to be honest… But not as good as Animal Crossing will always have a warm spot in my heart. This will be on the Xbox One so that’ll be the platform of choice for playing this cute game.
Now that I’ve spoken about some of my highlights from E3 2017 it’s now Dane’s turn to take over the rest of the post and talk about his thoughts on the games announced this year, as well as the new Xbox One X.
From the looks of it I will be going against the grain with the populous and say I was and still am pumped from E3. Peoples excited reactions from this years E3 seems to have fizzled out and there are even some people who found this year to be wholly underwhelming. I completely disagree.
First things first is the elephant in the Microsoft shaped room with their new console.
It actually took me approximately 2 years into the Xbox One’s life before I made the transition from the Xbox 360 and I am glad I made the jump. I had serious reservations and complaints about the way Microsoft were handling their launch of the One and did not think it was worth my time and money. Since then they have gone back on many of their plans and with the announcement of the Scorpio (development name of the X) they have rebuilt my faith in Microsoft.
The best thing to do is watch the video above to find out about the specifications but it is all POWER!
In terms of games though there are way too many for me to list here so I will copy in the Xbox game showcase.
Natalee has already mentioned her big ones she’s excited for and I too am also excited for those games, particularly Ooblets and South Park: FBW but she has already spoken of them so I won’t say anymore. For me there is really just too many to discuss and I will most likely forget about some things but I will try to pick a few things out to share my excitement.
Crackdown 3. JUMPING, SHOOTING, THROWING and BLOWING SHIT UP.
The multiplayer for this game will be where it’s at. Making the most of the power of their Azure servers Crackdown is hoping to cause citywide destruction in an online environment. What can I say? I like blowing stuff up… and Terry Crews. NUFF SAID.
Player Unknowns: Battlegrounds is one I never expected to come to Xbox exclusively. I don’t have a PC good enough (yet) to play many games like this. I have always wanted to play a survival/arena game with my friends but the consoles are very limited with what you have available so this is a welcome treat. Here is the trailer from E3:
Sea of Thieves is one more multiplayer game that I have had on my watch list since it was first announced a while back. Open world, multiplayer pirating. There is not really anything more to say. Well, I should also mention it is a Rare (the developer) game who have a brilliant development record until Microsoft bought them out and forced them to do Kinect games. So hopefully this is a return to form for Rare which I am truly excited to go plunder with my friends when it is released.
Anthem was a surprise showing at E3, others may have been expecting a new IP from Bioware but I most certainly was not. This game was gorgeous and also online coop. This is one I am definitely keeping my eye on. I don’t really know much more than it is a 3rd person RPG in power suits. It looks good, take a look!
That’s the main ones from the Xbox conference that made me excited, I just can’t wait till November! I could talk forever about all the games on show so I have really tried to limit myself, but a few honorable mentions are:
Black Desert – Online RPG that looks pretty epic.
The Last Night – Funky retro adventure game akin to the original Flashback.
Cuphead – Bullet hell platformer in the style of the old-timey cartoons.
Ashen – Dark and desperate RPG.
Deep Rock Galactic – Mining with friends!
I am only going to really talk in detail about three more games. Two from the EA conference and one from the Playstation conference.
So first let’s go for the interesting epic that is Days Gone from the Playstation conference. Zombies may be overdone but this really overdoes it in a good way. SO MANY FUCKING ZOMBIES. It actually makes the zombie scary again, not like Dead Rising where the sheer amount is awesome but they are just cannon fodder to have fun with, but a true zombie horde.
I wasn’t so impressed with the Sony conference as much, put that down to me being a fanboy but this year it just wasn’t there for me. There are some games I know I am excited for but there just wasn’t enough for me. Here’s a few honorable mentions:
God of War – An epic story about a gratuitously violent beefcake with a child.
Spiderman – Shame its PS4 Exclusive! No achievements for me on my Xbox. š¦
Shadow of the Colossus (Remake) – Never played the original but damn I want to play this.
EA had a massive show, second only to Microsoft. One of their new and VERY intriguing announcements was their split-screen adventure A Way Out.
Games and their developers seem have forgotten what it means to play with your friends. You may have noticed the majority of my highlights are largely multiplayer, but these are mostly online multiplayer. Gone are the days of playing on the couch with your friends sharing a tiny little CRT TV. A Way Out says fuck that and forces you to play with someone and share the screen regardless of where you are. The story is there too.
Finally from EA is this.
I can safely say both Natalee and I are extremely excited for this. I had the first one and it did not live up to the hype. Yes it was one of the best looking games but there was no substance. EA have promised a single player campaign, free dlc and ALL THREE TRILOGIES. I cannot wait to be playing as the clone troopers in the frostbite 3 engine. The thought makes me moist with anticipation.
YAY after days of asking Dane to write his part of this post, he’s finally done it! š I can safely say I am so damn excited for both Days Gone and Star Wars: Battlefront 2. They’re both going to be amazing games! Spiderman is also one I was surprised to see as a PS4 exclusive! This makes me really happy of course due to being a Playstation gamer. The gameplay for it was gorgeous and obviously is steps above games from back in the PS1 days, but it reminded me of the Spiderman game from back in the day. I loved that game so much and would spend hours after school playing it.
I cannot wait for November to come now so we can play new games together, as well as with our gaming friends Lee and Sam!
What were your highlights from E3 this year? Make sure to let me know in the comments, as well as over at Twitter @maybeecoffee ^_^
Until next time all, take care! I hope you’re enjoying the gorgeous weather, I know we are.
Hey guys! Dane here! Nat is letting me loose on her blog again to talk to you about the regenerat-ing degenerate, Deadpool.
Today the mercā with a mouth arrives on the silver screen. It has been an incredibly long time coming; both Nat and I have been incredibly excited since its announcement over a year ago. Recently we have seen everyone go crazy for the āpool, it is everywhere and to me that is a very good thing for fans of the character. You canāt be anywhere and not see an advert on a bus or on social media. Personally, it is absolutely brilliant. The best thing they are doing with the movie is the ātouching yourselfā campaign for men and women, where Deadpool instructs you to check yourself for lumps and bumps and not even in a way that makes you think itās an awful attempt to promote the movie.
Do I need to give you a background of the character? Just watch this video.
With the upcoming movie Nat has tasked me with providing you all with a few possible gift ideas that I would personally like and for that person who loves a bit of Deadpool. You could gift these for someone for Valentine’s Day, or even just as a general pay day treat for yourself. The possibilities are endless!
Well the best place to start for a comic book character is obviously the comics. You can start with the Deadpool Classics as I believe thatās where he is first introduced. Iāve never been a big fan of comics as I never liked the art style of the older comics. I started with the Deadpool Complete collections which are a bit newer and I think are the ones which really show Deadpool as we all know it. I also have the Deadpool kills series, Night of the Living Deadpool and Return of the Living Deadpool. All good stories in my opinion, I have found myself reading through the collections as soon as I buy them. I have just enjoyed them that much. The weird and sometimes hysterically dark adventures have kept me invested with this character and it just makes me that much more excited to see him portrayed on the silver screen. I would like the Cable and Deadpool series next (and eventually all Deadpool related media) but I think the next one I’m going to buy will be the next volume of the Complete Collection and Deadpool Vs. Thanos as starting a new series would just confuse my little brain.
Well who wouldn’t want this? Doesn’t it just look majestic? Yes it does, is exactly what your answer should be. Never mind the price, just means its proper quality. Am I right? š
For something a little more feasible and less stressful on the wallet. Imagine this bad boy sitting on your shelf/in your display cabinet. I want it. I want all the expensive figures at some point. Including the Star Wars Stormtrooper ones and thereās this Attack on Titan figure (link here) that would mortally wound my bank account. If you have the Ā£300 to spare it would make an excellent addition to anyoneās collection.
This I could live with and not feel like my bank account hates me. I have said before in other posts my uneasiness with Pop! Vinyl figures but I think this one would be pretty cool to have. It has the figure with Deadpoolās Chimichanga Truck. What is not like about that?
Clothing
For something to wear out thereās plenty of things out there, be it official or not thereās some decent quality stuff. Just Google āDeadpool clothingā and you will find an abundance of items but if you want to be saved that arduous journey of pressing Ctrl+T and typing that short sentence hereās a few items.
I love my varsity clothing, I have enough myself. My snowboard jacket is varsity, I have a Black Mesa (Half Life) varsity and a few other jackets to go along with them. For me the colour isn’t my thing as itās too in your face but it still looks pretty cool. Natalee talked about this in her February wish list (link here) and I think she likes this item more so than me.
T-Shirts – starting from Ā£14.99-Ā£15.99 (link, and link)
For something a bit more subtle you can go for these t-shirts. I can see myself wearing these to show my support for the āpool.
Lego Keyring – Various prices on eBay, just search for “Lego Deadpool keyring/keychain”
This one is quite the unique one. Nat actually bought us one each as a little Valentine’s Day present, and they are pretty darn awesome. Merging the Lego and Marvel universes even further by this unofficial Lego figure. I canāt really see Lego ever bringing out this character officially as he is known to be aimed at a more mature audience, then again he has had more toned down appearances in other media including Ultimate Spiderman. So there could be a chance, but in the mean time I am happy to settle with this. His swords even detach and can be held! Whoever made this is pretty skilled, mega props to them!
Game (available on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4) – starting from Ā£26.59-Ā£28.00 (link)
I know that when it was originally released it wasn’t the best game in the world and according to newer reviews it still isnāt. It has been released for newer consoles and includes some of the up-dates and DLC bundled with it. I have watched Lets Players run through this game and it looks entertaining but the game play just seems⦠Bleh. I am also conflicted by the way Deadpool is portrayed. From memory he’s a bit wackier than I would like. Which yes Deadpool is crazy and can be quirky, but he’s not THAT bad. The game seemed to remind me of the Animaniacs and I just think that’s a bit too much for his character. He has some dark moments in the comics; he’s desperate to die, he has an intimate relationship with the Marvel personification of death (who is female) and he just wants to be seen as a good guy really. I haven’t actually played the game (yet) so my re-view could be somewhat unfair and my assumptions and prejudices could be preventing me from being exposed to great Deadpool media. For what it is, a cash grab by Activision to jump on the movie hype, it is a tad expensive and I will be waiting for a price drop or sale to happen before genuinely going to buy it.
So there it is a few ideas for the Deadpool lovers out there. I know I will be getting a few of these.
Both Nat and I are excited to see the film in a few hours, are you? Have you seen anything here that you think you would like to buy for yourself, if not someone else? Have you got any awesome Deadpool items you want to share with us? Feel let us know, and feel free to comment below and tell us what you think! Ciao! š
Thanks again to Dane for being on my blog! I love when he writes for me, as like Deadpool he is just so wacky, and hilarious. š
We’re off to go watch Deadpool now anyhoo, I hope you are too!
