29 Films You Need To Watch In 2019

I am officially 29 years old and whilst some people joke and say, “That means I’m a level 29 so I win!” I am sadly not of that mind set.

I’m 29 and have been for over a week now. Before I know it I will be 30 and that terrifies me. I don’t look 29 and I certainly don’t act 29 and due to that I’m even more scared. We’ll save the whole aging thing for another post. šŸ˜›

Every year I always try to write a post to coincide with the age I have just become. I usually write facts about myself, things I wish I’d told my younger self, etc. However this time I wanted to write about something I’m somewhat passionate about. Films.

I LOVE films. I always choose watching a film whilst I do blog writing and housework over listening to music. I feel like this is due to years of acting in plays at school and even studying it at university. I love how you can lose yourself somewhat whilst watching a film, whatever genre it may be.

A while ago now I wrote a guest post for Scarlett over at Scarlettssribbles (which you can read here) about films you need to watch and why and I thought it would be cool for me to recommend 29 films you all should watch this year!

I really hope you like this post today. I just wanted to try and do something different and as I love recommending films for people to watch, I thought this would be perfect for some Monday morning reading. šŸ˜›

1. Get CarterĀ (1971) Directed by Mike Hodges.

This is another film that my dad introduced me to when I was younger and I’m so grateful! This is the oldest film on this list and is seen as a classic. It’s a British crime film about Jack, a London gangster who has to travel back to his hometown after discovering his brother has died. However, his death doesn’t seem to be accidental and he starts to unveil the truth about his brother, whilst we find out Jack’s past. It’s a great film and I recommend everyone to watch it.

2. Clerks (1994) Directed by Kevin Smith.

This is a film I first watched when I met Dane after he stuck it on for us to watch one evening. I don’t quite know how I got on without Kevin Smith films in my life. This is actually Kevin Smith’s first film (as in major!) which is really nice to know, considering how awesome it is. I’ve worked in retail and hospitality on and off since the age of 14 so when I watched this film I couldn’t relate more to the characters in the film and how pissed off they were at life, as well as at their jobs. One of my favourite quotes from the film is, ā€œThis job would be great if it wasn’t for the fucking customers.ā€ Honestly this film was like a holy grail to me at one point in my life when I really hated my last job. It was just such a great film to watch whenever I felt crap after a day at work and needed something to cheer me up. Clerks II is good too in its own way, but Clerks is the one that started it all.

3. LƩon: The Professional (1994) Directed by Luc Besson.

I remember watching this film back in 2000 when my dad bought our first DVD player and I fell in love with the film. The style of it, the story, the actors, just everything about it. I know the story is a bit bizarre but that’s what I loved about it the most. I loved the characters especially Mathilda (Natalie Portman) and Norman Stansfield (Gary Oldman). It’s about Leon, a hitman living in New York. He doesn’t have any family, friends, partner, associates, no one. The only person he talks to is the guy who gives him jobs. Mathilda lives a few doors down from him, who finds Leon interesting and different. She lives in a dysfunctional home and one day after something happens, Leon takes her on and looks after her, but due to Mathilda wanting revenge for her brother being killed, Leon’s world soon turns around. I feel like this film did well in the cinema but I hardly see it spoken about. I feel it’s more of a cult classic and it’s most definitely one that everyone needs to watch once!

4. Nil by MouthĀ (1997) Directed by Gary Oldman.

This is one of my favourite films. It’s dark, set in the UK and directed by one of my favourite actors. OH and it includes loads of my favourite actors too. I mean what’s not to love, eh? This film was Gary Oldman’s first and only film where he’s been credited as both a director and a writer. The film is about Ray and the people who he has in his life, including his family and friends. His wife is pregnant with their second child, his brother in law is a heroin addict and he’s a violent alcoholic and occasional drug user himself. It’s a dark film in all honesty, but it’s raw and real all at the same time. It’s based off of events that happened to Gary Oldman growing up and I honestly love films like this. Watch it, but obviously be prepared for lots of violence, as well as swearing.

5. American Beauty (1999) Directed by Sam Mendes.

I love this film and always have since I watched it as a teenager. It was based off of what was supposed to be a screenplay but alas came to the big screen instead! It’s about a man who isn’t particularly happy with his life, purely because he’s bored and constantly wonders, “What if?” like most of us tend to do. He begins to lust after his daughters best friend, quits his office job and instead decides to work in a fast food restaurant and well, basically turns his life around. The film however starts with him dying and you see how that moment came to be.Ā American BeautyĀ just covers so many topics and it’s worth watching if you love cinema.

6. Love, Honour and ObeyĀ (2000) Directed by Dominic Anciano and Ray Burdis.

This is a film my brother introduced both me and my dad to when I was growing up and it’s also one I quickly fell in love with! I really like how all the actors real first names are used for their characters, it’s just something different and it works quite well. The film is about Jonny, a guy who is fed up of his job and wishes for the “gangster lifestyle” his best friend Jude has. However, after Jonny joins the gang things start to turn sour between his gang and another gang. It’s quite relaxed though at the same time and I class it as a comedy. I definitely recommend watching it, if like me you like films based in the UK.

Sexy beast ver1.jpg

7. Sexy Beast (2000) Directed by Jonathan Glazer.

Another Ray Winstone film added to this list! He’s such a fabulous actor and definitely one of my favourites out there. This was a film my dad showed to me as I was growing up. He’d been lent it by someone he knew and watched it on his own, only to tell me to come watch too! It’s about a ex London gangster who has now moved to Spain to live his life to the fullest. He’s happy, with his wife and their friends, until the past comes back to haunt him and it won’t go away. I honestly loveĀ Sexy Beast,Ā as there’s just something about it that isn’t like anything else out there.

8. Spirited Away (2001) Directed by Hayao Miyazaki.

Not only is this up there as one of my favourite films, but this was the first Studio Ghibli film I ever watched. From watchingĀ Spirited Away it reallyĀ got me into wanting to watch more anime, especially more by Studio Ghibli. The plot is like Alice in Wonderland where a girl enters a different place/world and needs to find a way back out. It’s such an amazing film for all the family and not only is the story amazing, but so is the art style. If you’ve never watched a Studio Ghibli film but not this one, then I highly recommend that you check this one out.

Amelie poster.jpg

9. AmƩlie (2001) Directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet.

AmĆ©lieĀ is definitely one of my favourite films and it’s one where for years I’d seen the trailer for it on a video but always wondered what happened at the end of the film! Finally one evening when I was waiting to start college it came on Film4 and I FINALLY got to watch it! I fell in love with the style of the film, as well as the plot and characters. I don’t really know how to explain the film other than AmĆ©lie is a girl in her 20’s and although content with her life, she’s missing something from it and seems bored with her mundane everyday life. One evening she discovers something in her flat that has been hidden there for years and is determined to find the owner of the items. It’s a lovely film, with a well known soundtrack. It’s one of those films you can watch with friends with a bowl of popcorn and snacks. šŸ˜›

One Hour Photo movie.jpg

Image taken from Wikipedia

10.Ā One Hour PhotoĀ (2002) Directed by Mark Romanek.

I wasn’t sure whether to add this to the list as I wondered if it was a popular film or not. I am trying not to mention big films on this list, if you hadn’t already noticed! I remember watching this film late at night years ago when I was in college and fell in love with it. Robin Williams (who plays the main character) is always known for acting in comedy films. This is not a comedy whatsoever and if anything is a dark thriller. His character seems normal on the outside, but deep down he has a dark secret. He’s a stalker. The story really keeps you on the edge of your seat and it’s definitely one to watch.

Secretary (2002).png

Image taken from Wikipedia

11. Secretary (2002) Directed by Steven Shainberg.

I remember whenĀ Fifty Shades of GreyĀ came out and this film came to mind! This was the first film I found and watched that was about the relationship between a lawyer and his secretary, which in turn is a dom/sub relationship. The film doesn’t just tackle that, but also things such as mental health, self harm as well as love. It’s actually classed as a romance and comedy film! Whether you love or hateĀ Fifty Shades of GreyĀ I think you’ll definitely like this film.

12. Oldboy (2003) Directed by Park Chan-wook.

I can’t remember how I came to know if this film… I have a feeling my ex actually introduced it to me but at the same time I feel like I watched it on Film4 one evening. I honestly can’t remember. Either way, this is one of my favourite pieces of cinema from South Korea and one I definitely recommend everyone to go and watch! I had to watch this a good couple of times to 100% know what was going on. I feel like it’s really fast paced and if you take your attention away from it for even a short period of time, you’ll have to start again! There has actually been a remake of this film with Josh Brolin as the main character. I watched it and although it was okay, it wasn’t as good as the original. It’s about a man who is captured and locked away in a room for 15 years, he doesn’t know why. He’s one day let out and given 5 days to find out why he was imprisoned and why.

Thirteen2003Poster.jpg

Image taken from Wikipedia

13. Thirteen (2003) Directed by Catherine Hardwicke.

This is a film I wasn’t sure whether to mention on this list or not due to what it’s about, but it’s a film that I watched during my time at college and it really was one I watched time and time again. Thirteen is about a teenage girl who changes to adapt to the new best friend she gains at school and goes from getting good grades at school to being a rebellious teenager who steals, takes drugs, drinks alcohol and has sex underage and is spiralling out of control. This film does include scenes of self-harm and it’s definitely something to be wary of if you wish to watch the film but get triggered by this sort of thing. It’s definitely worth a watch though, but I do warn you again to be wary of the self-harm scenes.

ItsAllGonePeteTong2005Poster.jpg

Image taken from Wikipedia

14. It’s All Gone Pete Tong (2004) Directed by Michael Dowse.

This isn’t the best film in the world, it’s not ever going to be like the Marvel films, or Star Wars but to me it does the job and I love it. It stars Paul Kaye, another one of my favourite actors who plays a DJ who becomes deaf. It’s a mockumentary but due to the fact the film featured real DJ’s throughout, a few people wondered if it was a genuine film or not. I just love how this film is, it’s not real but I guess it can tackle some serious issues about how loud music can affect your hearing. Alongside all this I LOVE the soundtrack for this film! I actually ordered it recently from CEX, but the order was cancelled as they couldn’t find the CD. 😦

Waiting-poster.jpg

Image taken from Wikipedia

15. Waiting… (2005) Directed by Rob McKittrick.

I think this is the first Ryan Reynolds film on this list and it certainly won’t be the last! I remember when I first discovered Ryan Reynolds and I kind of went a bit crazy for his films. This was one of the ones I picked up in HMV back in the day in one of those 2 for Ā£10 deals. I remember taking it home and sticking it on to watch and not only did I love it for him, but I could relate to it so much too at the time of watching it! My first job was in 2004, I was 14 and worked in the kitchen washing up. I witnessed everything with both the kitchen staff as well as the waiters/waitresses and this film just took me straight back to that time! It gave me nostalgic feels and at the time it had probably only been about 4 years since I’d done that job. šŸ˜› Not only that but the film is hilarious.

16. This Is England (2006) Directed by Shane Meadows.

Let’s kick start this post by talking about one of my favourite films. I’m pretty sure most people have watched this by now, but if you haven’t I honestly can’t recommend it enough! There are so many things I love about this film, most of all the cast and the fact it’s a UK film. This Is England is about skinheads in the 80’s and is somewhat based on true events that happened to Shane Meadows the writer/director. There are many racist themes throughout this film and whilst that isn’t what makes the film, what does make it is the character progression throughout with all the characters, especially Shaun and Combo who are clearly both searching for something and are alike due to that. The film went on to become a TV series on Channel 4, which did really well! I actually think I love the TV series more than the film because you get to find out more about the characters, especially LOL and Woody, who are my favourites. Again, if you haven’t seenĀ This Is EnglandĀ I honestly recommend you do and if you like the film, go and watch the TV series too. The TV series is in three parts, This Is EnglandĀ ’86, This Is EnglandĀ ’88 and This Is EnglandĀ ’90.

17. London to Brighton (2006) Directed by Paul Andrew Williams.

This is such a small indie film from the UK and is so old now, even if it just the same age as This Is England! I remember seeing this in WHSmith whilst out with my dad back in 2006/2007 and liked how it sounded so bought it for myself. I have no regrets! It’s about a prostitute who is asked by her pimp to get one of his customers a young girl and although she’s reluctant, does it anyway. Something happens and we see the two running away from what has happened as well as away from her pimp and the customers son. They decided to travel from London to Brighton, hence the name of the film. It sounds horrible but honestly it’s such an amazing film all the same. I’m a huge fan of drama style films, especially if they’re set in the UK and this one had me hooked when I read the back of the DVD in WHSmith all them years ago! I am so glad I bought it.

18. Kidulthood (2006) Directed by Menhaj Huda.

This is a film I’ve added to the list because I feel it deserves a watch at least once! Although this film came out over 10 years ago now and was tackling loads of different issues that were happening at the time, I feel those issues are relevant still to this day, which is why it’s on this list. It tackles loads of different issues such as mental health, suicide, teenage pregnancy, gangs, bullying, underage sex and more! It isn’t too overcrowded though either with all those issues, which I think makes it so great.

Image result for Stuart: A Life Backwards

Image taken from IMDB

19. Stuart: A Life Backwards (2007) Directed by David Attwood.

This was actually a TV film, but meh it’s being added to this list, because you still need to watch it! šŸ˜› My best friend Gabriella showed me this film years ago when we were in our Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hardy highs. So when she told me she’d found a film with them both in together, WE HAD TO WATCH IT! I have never felt my heart break so hard over a film and since watching it the first time I’ve watched it a handful of times since and every single time I have cried and felt sad afterwards. It’s based on a true story of when these two men met up, Stuart being a homeless man with a heroin addiction, the other who decides to write about the Stuart’s life, but backwards. You find out about how Stuart came to be where he was when they met and it’s incredibly depressing to find out what happened to Stuart, but the fact it is all true really breaks your heart. Tom Hardy plays the role of Stuart so damn well! He’s such an amazing actor and this film truly does show that.

20. Fish TankĀ (2009) Directed by Andrea Arnold.

I was in two minds whether to add this to this list as after a couple of watches it kind of makes me cringe in places. It’s a great film and I’ll always recommend people watch it once but after that you’ll live. It’s about Mia a rebellious teenager with a love and passion for dancing. She lives with her single mother and younger sister, who both often get on her nerves. One day Mia discovers her mother has a new boyfriend and Mia’s life sort of gets more interesting. I discovered this film because Michael Fassbender is in it, who at one point was an actor I was really into so I searched for loads of British films he was in, this included. Again, watch it once at least! I doubt very much so you’ll need to watch it again. šŸ˜›

Precious2009poster.jpg

Image taken from Wikipedia

21. Precious (2009) Directed by Lee Daniels.

This film is based off a novel of the same name and it is by far one of my favourite films. I remember it came out in whilst I was studying at university and I wanted to go and watch it in the cinema, but I had no one who wanted to go. So, I was naughty and watched it illegally online instead! Not long after I had to buy it on DVD as I NEEDED to watch this film properly and in decent quality. I remember watching it three times the day it arrived, and I fell in love. It’s such a strong and powerful film that requires tissues. It’s set in the 80’s and is about Precious, a young girl who has dealt with a life time of abuse and poverty. One of the last scenes of this films really sends shivers down my spine due to how powerful it is. It’s also incredibly depressing but it’s got a positive vibe at the end.

The Unloved Cover.jpg

Image taken from Wikipedia

22. The Unloved (2009) Directed by Samantha Morton.

Although this is a TV film, it’s one of my favourites. I remember the hype coming up towards it’s release and I fell in love with it. It’s a drama based in the UK about children in the care system and he dark side of it. A girl is taken away from her father due to his violence towards her, but it turns out being in care doesn’t mean escaping anything bad. You see the inside of care, with teenagers abusing alcohol and drugs, as well as being sexually abused by care workers. It’s a harsh reality check about the care system, which is done from the prospective of the main character. You definitely need to watch this if you haven’t as it really opens your eyes!

Buried Poster.jpg

Image taken from Wikipedia

23. Buried (2010) Directed by Rodrigo CortƩs.

Another Ryan Reynolds one and one I really love, it’s one of my favourites that he’s in. I actually went to the cinema to watch this and I’m so glad I did as it really did add to the tension that the film constantly has. It’s about an American truck driver who has been kidnapped, put into a wooden box and buried under the ground. Whilst watching the film you’re pretty much stuck in this box with him, all the while on the edge of your seat wondering what’s going to happen. The only time he talks to anyone else is via a mobile phone. If you want something that will keep you on the edge and tense, give this a go.

Submarine poster.jpg

Image taken from Wikipedia

24. Submarine (2010) Directed by Richard Ayoade.

This is by far one of my favourite films! I remember one of my old friends lent it me to watch as not only did she think I would love the film due to the plot, but also because of directed it. Richard Ayoade is one of my favourite people, he’s hilarious and such a legend! He didĀ SubmarineĀ so well and it’s truly a little masterpiece in it’s own right. The thing I love about this film the most is how it got me through some dark places when I was kind of in a limbo between late 2011 to when I met Dane in 2013. It really helped and kept my spirits up.

Sightseers film poster.jpg

Image taken from Wikipedia

25. Sightseers (2012) Directed by Ben Wheatley.

This film is so bizarre that you have to watch it for that alone! It’s set in the Midlands and is about a couple from Birmingham who haven’t long been together and decide to go on a driving trip in his motor home. Their cute and lovey dovey (yet cringe worthy and awkward) trip soon goes to a dark place and it doesn’t take long for the action of one to rub off onto the other. This film is a comedy thriller and you are constantly unsure of what is going to happen next and that is what I love about it the most. I especially love the thick as shit sounding Brummy accents, especially as I’m from Birmingham myself. I’d got more into the plot, but I don’t want to spoil anything so just go and watch it šŸ˜›

A boy standing next to a girl, who is leaning her head on the shoulder of a second boy, in front of a lime green wall and below the words "we are infinite".

26. The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012) Directed by Stephen Chbosky.

This is another film that helped me get through some dark places between the same time thatĀ SubmarineĀ did. May I also just say, the book is amazing that the book is inspired by and in fact the director wrote the book so you know. šŸ˜›Ā The Perks of Being a WallflowerĀ can be a pretty depressing film. It yo-yos as the film goes on from being good, to bad, to sad, to good again. It’s a great coming of age film though and if you loved the book but haven’t watched the film yet, then you really should!

The Voices film poster.png

Image taken from Wikipedia

27.Ā The Voices (2014) Directed by Marjane Satrapi.

Again, another Ryan Reynolds film and another film of his I love! His performance in this for a start is amazing and you can’t fault it at all! It’s a dark comedy/horror about a man with schizophrenia but refuses to take his medication, as he enjoys the hallucinations that follow. He lives with his dog and cat, who both talk to him (obviously effects of not taking his medication) who act like the angel and devil on your shoulders. Some bad things happen and Ryan Reynolds character needs to decide what is best to do. It’s such a funny but yet fucked up film, but I still love it! I’m actually tempted to buy it on DVD soon, as I really fancy watching it now. šŸ˜›

Your Name poster.png

Image taken from Wikipedia

28. Your Name. (2016) Directed by Makoto Shinkai.

Your Name.Ā did so well when it came out in some selected cinemas throughout the UK, but it took the world by storm to be honest with you. Everyone was hyped for it and I feel like even people who weren’t massive anime fans before, soon became them after this film came out. It’s about two teenagers, one from the busy city of Tokyo and the other from the quieter countryside of Japan. They one day wake up to be in each others bodies and this happens for a while and eventually they do something about it. They keep diaries of each others days and give each other tips on what they should do, etc. One day though they wake up and the other person has disappeared. The story doesn’t end there however and goes into more than we thought it would! This is such a beautifully told love story, whilst looking gorgeous at the same time. Me and Dane went to watch this in the cinema and we had an amazing evening. Alongside this andĀ A Silent VoiceĀ it really did inspire us to go and watch more anime films in the cinema.Ā Your Name.Ā will also always remind me of my 28th birthday when I was poorly and me and Dane got Japanese takeaway and cuddled up together watching this film.

A Silent Voice Film Poster.jpg

Image taken from Wikipedia

29. A Silent Voice (2016) Directed by Naoko Yamada.

Finally, if there is one anime film I knew I had to mention in this list, I KNEW this had to be in here somewhere! I remember hearing about this film randomly online after being recommended to buy the manga series of the same name. I looked into it and saw that they stated that it was being made into a film. Not long after I found that this bit of information out, I also found out it had one showing for it in town and I decided to go with Dane. It is such a depressing story but a somewhat realistic and hard hitting one. It’s about Shōya a cocky young boy who just wants to play with his friends and enjoy being a kid. One day a new girl joins his class at school, Shōko who also happens to be deaf. During her time at the school the two clash and Shōya’s attitude towards her comes off as bullying behaviour, due to this Shōko ends up leaving the school and Shōya is outcast from the rest of the kids in his class, including his best friends. He grows depressed as the years go on as he is constantly reminded what he did to Shōko. Years later during high school we see Shōya discovers where Shōko goes for school, can he apologise for what he did all those years before? I was actually gutted that Your Name won an award over A Silent Voice at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards, as whilst I LOVED Your Name too, A Silent Voice just had a much stronger message. Either way this film is one you need to watch. It has such an emotional story which ends positively.

So those are ALL 29 FILMS! This has actually taken me a few days to write due to the fact it was hard to think of 29 films I wanted to share with you guys, write about them and have a somewhat relaxed and yet busy weekend. šŸ˜›

I really hope you guys loved all the films I mentioned and maybe you’ve seen some of them already? If so, which one(s) have you watched? Did you love them, or hate them? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below! šŸ˜€

Of course let me know which films you think I NEED to watch too! I’m always happy to check out new films.

Until next time however, I hope you’re all well and had a lovely weekend!

February Wish List ’18

I can’t believe we’re already into month 2 of 2018! To be honest I’m not going to complain as January sucked! For the first couple of weeks of January I was poorly with various different things and in the end me and Dane pretty much worked out that I had the Aussie flu that was going around, which of course sucked! I booked 4 and a half days off work for my birthday and not only was I poorly for the whole of it, but Dane was also away for work so I was on my own. YUCK!

ANYWAY enough of me moaning, this wish list is one I was rather excited to do as there’s loads of awesome bits and pieces on it, however I am so stuck for money lately and especially since my car has recently been MOT’d and taxed! But my little red bug is my baby and I must take care of it, because let’s face it, it takes care of me 5 days a week. šŸ˜›

Random but I decided recently that I will no longer be showing the prices of items on wish lists. The reason for this being is that the price changes CONSTANTLY! Especially on websites such as Wordery, which I have featured twice on this post with the manga books. Of course I will continue to leave links for items so you’ll soon find out how much items are for yourself. I will still be talking about what a “bargain” something is or if it’s expensive. So you’ll get an idea from that alone.

So, let’s not delay anymore, on with the wish list!

  • A Polar Bear In Love Vol. 2 – (link)

As regular readers will know for my birthday at the start of January I received A Polar bear In Love Vol. 1 from Dane (you can see what else I got for my birthday here) and I read it within a few days as I was so excited to! I now really want to get Vol. 2 which is released at the end of this month. I can’t wait to see what happens next in the story as it’s just so damn cute! šŸ˜€

  • Pusheen Trinket Tray – (link)

I’ve wanted this cute little trinket tray for a while now but every time I contemplated buying it I changed my mind due to monies and that I didn’t exactly need it at the time. NOW however I really do need it as I want something to keep my jewellery in, such as the new ring I received for my birthday, my watch and my Thomas Sabo bracelet.

  • Kimi No Na Wa/Your Name Bracelet – (link)

For my birthday in the evening me and Dane ate Japanese food and watched this film. After watching it I had a nose on eBay to see what merchandise is around from the film and I found this bracelet which is what Taki wears in the film. I’d love to have something like this from the film and I’d wear it all the time and for just Ā£3.99 it wouldn’t break the bank to buy either. I’ll see if I fancy getting it throughout the month.

  • Pusheen Door Mat – (link)

Me and Dane decided recently that we need another door mat, but this one would be for inside by the back door. I want something nice to match up to our awesome Deadpool one by the front door! I’ve had my eye on this one for a while and now it’s available to buy from Truffle Shuffle I really want to get my hands on it as soon as possible. I’m pretty sure we’ll be picking this up when we can.

  • Barry M Cosmetics Under The Sea Nail Paint – (link)

Barry M are really on it lately with their releases and it includes some of their newer products they released at the end of January! I’ll be mentioned two here but this is one of them which is a mermaid inspired nail paint collection called Under The Sea. In the collection there are four shades Angelfish (pearlescent orange/nude), Jellyfish (purple/green), Butterflyfish (blue/pink) and Pinktail (pink/orange). Jellyfish and Butterflyfish are the two shades I’m after as I find they’re the prettiest and most aquatic/mermaid looking. I love wearing nail polish these days thanks to work so I’m always after getting pretty polishes to wear now! Barry M are really good with their nails paints so I’ll definitely be giving these a go.

  • Persona 5 Morgana Nendoroid – (link)

If there is one Nendoroid I REALLY want right now, it’s Morgana from Persona 5! I was actually hoping Dane would have bought me him for my birthday but most websites in the UK who sell Nendoroid’s don’t actually have him until this month so… I recently shopped with Gamersheek and this is who I’ll be hopefully buying Morgana from them this month as I have a 10% discount code too! I just need him in my collection, especially being a huge Persona 5 fan! šŸ˜€

  • Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: Kanna’s Daily Life Vol. 1 – (link)

This was actually a manga Dane had ordered me for my birthday but the website stopped selling it and cancelled his order. NOW it’s back on the website I’ll be ordering it this month to read at some point. I love reading Miss Kobayash’s Dragon Maid and I’m currently all caught up until Vol. 6 comes out in May, so I may as well read Kanna’s Daily Life next. ^_^

  • Barry M Cosmetics Holographic Lip Topper – (link)

Alongside Barry M’s Under The Sea nail paints they’re also bringing out these lip toppers which I’d also love to try! I keep lusting after the Lime Crime lip toppers but they’re expensive to be honest with you and if the Barry M ones do practically the same job then win win! I definitely want the blue and the pink shades.

  • Chamilia Disney Lady and The Tramp Charms – (link) and (link)

When I saw these advertised about on Instagram I was SO HAPPY! I have been waiting for Lady and The Tramp charms for way too long and at Ā£35.00 each they’re a bargain too! Apparently you can put these on Pandora bracelets but to be honest with you I’d fancy picking up a Chamilia bracelet for a change from Pandora. They sell Star Wars charms which is AMAZING! šŸ˜€ I’m going to keep my eye on picking these up when I have spare cash.

So there’s my wish list for this month! I’m still saving money or paying for other things so I’ll be watching my money again this month and only buying things I actually need or REALLY want.

What items do you have on your wish lists this month? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and hope you’re having a lovely weekend!

January Favourites ’18

We are well and truly into 2018 now and I can’t believe how fast January came and went! It was a bit of a crappy month to be honest considering I was poorly for 2 weeks of it. It started with a stomach bug, then sinusitis, then a cold/flu and finally what seemed to be like a urine infection. URGH. Just crappy and I’m so glad to be into a new month now.

With a new month comes my monthly posts, yay! I love doing my monthly posts as I feel it’s a great to wrap up the previous one and get ready for the next.

I’m going to continue what I did in 2017 with writing about both my beauty and my lifestyle favourites. If there’s any monthly favourites topics you’d like to hear about as well, make sure to let me know.

Now, on with the favourites!

  • Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy EDP.

I fancied wearing this on my birthday as it’s one of my favourite scents and since then I’ve worn it pretty much every day throughout January! I always forget how much I love it and it’s fruity scent. It reminds me of dark berries although it contains black cherry and plum. It’s gorgeous though and I’m pretty sure this was meant to be a limited edition scent originally, so the fact it’s still around 10 years later is amazing!

  • Carmex Lip Balm in Sugar Plum.

I have been after this since before Christmas and when me and Dane were in town for my birthday I FINALLY FOUND IT! Was so pleased as well to be honest as I’d wanted it for the longest time and it was always sold out. This is such a gorgeous scent/flavour and it’s definitely my favourite now to be honest with you. I like to use it around the house and I sometimes have it with me when I’m at work. I wish I had bought a couple of these now just to have another one for when the first runs out. As far as I know this is limited edition but a part of me hopes they make it permanent edition! šŸ˜€

  • L’Oreal Paris Pure Clay Face Mask in Detox (review here).

Sadly I don’t have this included in the picture above as it ran out and I threw it away… Sad times! I’ve been using this face mask loads throughout January and it’s really helped my skinĀ  out whilst I’ve been poorly too as I felt so greasy and my skin felt so congested. I love the L’Oreal masks so much and would really like to try more of them! If you’re after a really deep cleaning and affordable clay mask, then I recommend picking this up!

  • Winky Lux Green Flower Balm.

This is one of the gifts that Dane’s brother and his girlfriend bought for me (you can see what else I got for Christmas here too) and since getting it I’ve done nothing but use it! It’s a lip balm with PH tint which gifts a nice subtle pink colour. I keep this in my handbag now for on the go whenever I want to apply a nice lip colour. It has the balm with it too so it feels really comfortable to wear all day long. I definitely recommend picking up one of these if you can as they’re so lovely.

  • Radox Men Muscle Therapy Bath Soak.

I know this is for men but I LOVE this bath soak so damn much! With how poorly and achey I’ve been lately this has really helped my muscles. It also smells gorgeous as well and reminds me of my Dad due to the masculine scent. I always pick this up whenever me and Dane got for a shop as it’s just a staple to have after a long day when your body needs a really good pick me up.

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – Black Mirror and How To Keep A Mummy.

I was SO excited for season 4 of Black Mirror to come out and me and Dane binge watched it before New Year. We loved it and I don’t know which episode was my favourite… Probably the last one to be honest as it was just perfect! If you’ve never watch any of the Black Mirror episodes then please get on it as it’s such an amazing show and it’s so smart too. Every episode will blow your mind and make you think about the present, as well as the future!

The other TV show I enjoyed thoroughly throughout January is a new anime series for Winter called How To Keep A Mummy and let me tell you, it’s by far one of the cutest fucking things I’ve seen for a very, VERY long time! It’s about high schooler Sora who is sent a little mummy called Mii-kun by his father who is travelling. The series focuses on how the two adapt a warm and loving friendship and how Mii-kun adapts to other people as well as outside of the house. It’s on Crunchyroll at the moment and if you love all things cute, then you will love this anime. I already want ALL THE MERCH as well as the manga. šŸ˜›

Favourite Film – Kimi No Na Wa/Your Name.

I think this will just be my favourite film of the month due to the fact it’s the one me and Dane watched together on my birthday. We snuggled up with takeaway Japanese food on our cuddle chair and when we were finished with food wrapped up under our blanket and finished watching the film. It was a lovely end to a great day and that film will just remind me of summer evenings when we went to watch it at the cinema and my birthday when we watched it together.

Favourite Book – A Polar Bear In Love.

If there is a manga I have been really excited to buy and read since A Silent Voice it’s definitely A Polar Bear In Love! I heard about it from YouTuber akidearest (who you can watch here) when she mentioned it in one of her favourites videos. I straight away researched about it and found out that it was available to buy in the UK! Dane bought it me for my birthday and not long after getting it I’d finished reading it! I can’t wait for Vol. 2 to come out this month now!

Favourite Song/Album – Various Songs.

There’s loads of songs I’ve heard lately that I really like and I can’t pick one artist or one song etc because there’s just so many I like for various reasons, so I’ve added 3 here that I really like at the moment.

I’ve been hearing loads of Charlie Puth at work on the radio and this is the first song I heard by him and I couldn’t help but fall in love with it. He’s got a lovely singing voice and it’s really not my sort of music but it’s just a nice chilled song to listen to. ALSO I love the bass line in the song too and would love to learn how to play it myself.

I heard this song thanks to YouTuber heyitsfeiii (you can check her out here) when she put it on one of her vlog videos recently. I searched ages for it and when I finally found it I was listening to it for a while. It’s the sort of song you’d use on a YouTube video to show off fashion pieces or even for a snowboarding type video. I love it though!

Finally we have a song I found through some random videos on Facebook and it’s such a lovely song and one I’ll definitely love listening to in the summer months! It’s definitely a song I could imagine putting onto a snowboarding video.

Favourite Game – Persona 5.

I’m not sorry that this game keeps appearing here… I’m really not! I spent the start of 2018 playing this game again and as sad as it sounds, all because I want to 100% the game and get all the trophies! I love this game so damn much and as soon as I’ve completed this I will FINALLY move onto Persona 4: Golden and you won’t have to hear about this game anymore… šŸ˜›

So those are ALL my favourites from January! What’s your favourites from last month? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re having a great week so far.

What I Got For My 28th Birthday

It’s that time of year when not only do I talk about what I received for Christmas and what I picked up in the Boxing Day sales, but also what I received for my birthday!

I am now 28 and although I’m not arsed I think it’s been a wake up call this year for me and Dane that we aren’t getting any younger and that we probably need to start thinking about our future… YUCK ADULTING! That’s for another post though!

My birthday this year was an odd one. I wasn’t very well the week before it and I wasn’t particularly 100% after it either. Even on the day when out and about for the day I had sinusitis, which really sucked. For the day though we didn’t do anything exciting, just went around Birmingham for the day, had some food and then came home with Japanese takeaway to eat whilst we watched Your Name. It was lovely and I couldn’t have asked for anything better to be honest with you.

The first thing I did in the morning was open the presents that Dane and his parents bought for me, which was lovely.

Dane’s parents bought me Nichijou Volume 3 and 4 which was really unexpected! I haven’t read the manga for a while and I really do need to keep up with it, especially with how cheap you can pick each volume up on Wordery.

They also bought me the South Park Mysterion figure which had a really lovely story behind it too! We’d been shopping with his parents in town before I started my new job and we’d seen the figure at half the price and I got excited about us getting it. Me and Dane both said no though however due to wanting to watch money for Christmas. We ventured downstairs in the shop to look around at manga and Dane’s parents stayed upstairs to look at Star Wars stuff. A while later and ages after we’d left the shop I noticed Dane’s mom had a bag from the store and I asked what she’d bought, to which she replied, “Oh nothing my bag broke so they gave me this one.” SUCH A GOOD LIE! I believed it and apparently they all worried I wouldn’t. This was lovely to receive though and me and Dane plan to pop it on our fireplace.

Then I opened Dane’s presents and again I received more manga! He bought me Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid Volume 4 and 5 as well as A Polar Bear In Love Volume 1, which I have wanted for AGES! I was so excited at receiving it that I started reading it not long after opening my presents.

I was gutted that he didn’t buy me Your Name Volume 2 as that’s a manga I am loving right now, but bless him he ordered it there and then as he wasn’t sure if his parents has bought it for me. When this arrived in the post recently a calendar he’d bought me for Christmas also arrived so I thought I would include that here. It’s the Juniper Fox calendar and it’s so cute! I can’t wait to hang this up in the house.

I was meant to have a Nendoroid to open up on the day but sadly it didn’t arrive until after my birthday which I didn’t mind to be honest, but it bugged Dane. He bought me the Ash and Pikachu Nendoroid which I am so happy with! I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday present.

Everyone at the office got me a card for my birthday as well as a bottle of Disaronno, which I thought was so lovely of them all! šŸ˜€ I’ve never had anything like that at a work place before so it really made my day when I opened it in the morning of my birthday.

My brother and my mom bought my presents a little late as I don’t think they quite knew what to get for me. My mom ended up giving me some money which really did come in handy as I’m skint at the moment! My car needing to have its MOT AND tax didn’t exactly help matters either, but meh whatever.

I only thought that myĀ  mom was giving me the money for my birthday but alas I was wrong as she also gifted me something that I originally thought was from my brother and whoever it was from, a the time I couldn’t have asked for anything better to be honest. For ages I have wanted the red delicate heart ring from Pandora but never bothered buying it for a few reasons, but the main one being that I’d never get the chance to wear it due to working in retail and hospitality. You aren’t allowed to wear any jewellery so I never bothered. Now I’m in admin work I can wear jewellery, which includes rings. I mentioned to Dane that I’d like this ring and in turn mentioned it in passing to my mom too, who then mentioned it to my brother. I found out my size in Pandora and told my brother what size I wanted and alas, here we are now! I got it for my middle finger and I love it so much. It’s so comfortable to wear and delicate which is what I wanted. I am a bit on the paranoid side that it’s a little too big for my finger but I’m going to see how it wears for a week. The first time I wore it was out on a food shop and I had no issues really, which was good. I can see me getting this ring has set off a new addiction and love for Pandora rings… šŸ˜›

Finally we come to what my brother got for me for my birthday! He also bought me something from Pandora but he bought me a Pandora charm. I didn’t have a clue which one however as he wanted it to be a surprise! So when I opened the box and saw it was a cute little Japanese Doll I fell in love with it straight away. I didn’t know what to expect to be honest with you and for a while I did wonder if he’d bought me a Disney charm as for ages I haven’t even known which Pandora charms I’ve wanted lately. He really hit the nail on the head with this charm however and I really do like it. It’s a dangling one and it’s so dainty and sweet! I don’t think my brother has ever bought me a Pandora charm before so this will always remind me of him when I wear this bracelet. What makes it even nicer in a way is that this charm is now discontinued (apparently anyway…) so it’s nice to think that it isn’t available anymore. A lot of my charms are discontinued ones now. šŸ˜›

So that was EVERYTHING I got for my birthday! I’m so grateful to my family and friends for their gifts and I always appreciate everything they do for me throughout the year. They really do make me feel spoilt.

I hope 2018 is going off to a good start for everyone! Sadly I cannot say the same considering I’ve been poorly since New Years Day with 4 different things… It really sucks. 😦

Anyways until next time, take care all and have an awesome week!

2017 Favourites!

This post is way behind schedule and as I mentioned in my recent post, I am sorry about that but my health comes first and sadly a week later I am STILL poorly! Not as poorly as I was beforehand, thankfully but still poorly all the same. Me and Dane have a feeling I’ve got the Aussie flu that’s been going around the UK at the moment, either way I hope it passes by the end of the week when I’m back at work!

Finally I am getting around to sitting at my desk and writing this post, which is way overdue now but whatever, better late than never, eh?

I’m going to list my top 5 favourite things from all sorts of things including beauty, fashion and lifestyle because that’s the 3 topics I always focus on on There Might Be Coffee.

Again, I do apologise for how long this post has taken for me to write and publish, but here it finally is, my 2017 favourites!

Beauty

  • L’Oreal Paris Hydra Genius in Normal to Combination Skin (review here).

This is definitely my number one item of 2017 and was also my favourite discovery too! This was a product L’Oreal released last year and after hearing nothing but good things about it, I decided to pick it up when it was on offer. I only recently finished my first bottle and have already repurchased another. This is my go to moisturiser and one I recommend everyone to try, especially during the warmer months and for holidays abroad.

  • Rimmel Insta Fix & Matte Powder.

This is another release this year and one I’d heard positive reviews about so picked it up. Initially I didn’t think much on it, but hoped it would grow on me… It never did and I was really disappointed to be honest. I tried another face powder after this and it was only then I realised that the Rimmel powder was actually amazing and I ended up stopping use of the new powder and picked up another one of these. I really need to review it, but at the same time it doesn’t really need a review. It’s not the best matte powder in the world (Korean ones are! :P) but it really does the job for my oily t-zone and it doesn’t break the bank to buy either.

  • L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream.

I’ve mentioned this hand cream time and time again over the years and I know for a fact I mentioned it plenty of times on here. That itself goes to show how much I love this product. It’s definitely the best hand cream I own and I’ll always go back to it no matter what! Since moving to my new job the state of the eczema on my hands has improved dramatically and it’s purely due to applying hand cream whenever my hands have been washed/wet. I don’t ALWAYS apply this hand cream but it’s often what I reach for. It’s also what I keep in my handbag all the time as it’s great to use if my hands are suffering a little in the colder weather. It really picks my skin back up and if you suffer from eczema like I do, then I recommend trying this! It’s not cheap, but it works wonders.

  • Carmex Cherry Lip Balm.

Again, another beauty product I have spoken about highly since I bought it in September. It was my holy grail whilst I was in Fuerteventura as well as during the day at work whilst sitting at my desk. There’s loads of things I love about using Carmex over other lip balm brands including the cherry flavour, the tingling feeling it gives my lips as well as how thick the product is. Of course the moisture it gives to my lips is always good too! šŸ˜› I recently picked up the Christmas limited edition sugar plum flavour too, which is amazing.

  • Body Fantasies Signature Body Sprays in Cotton Candy and Vanilla.

I picked these up before I went to Fuerteventura as I planned to take the Cotton Candy with me to use in the evenings, but I never bothered and as soon as I got back home I was using them almost daily and still do! These smell gorgeous and I already know they’ll be a regular purchase throughout 2018. They’re great to spritz all over your body before getting changed, as well as spritzing all over you instead of using perfume. I always get compliments on these and they’re a really good price too and come in loads of different scents. I definitely recommend giving them a go if you fancy trying a new brand of body sprays.

Fashion

  • Standard Fox Sweatshirt.

Standard is a clothing brand in Fuerteventura and it’s always a store I visit whenever I’m on the island. Me and Dane both went in when we were there in September/October and Dane picked up a Stormtrooper t-shirt and I picked up this sweatshirt. It’s one of the most comfortable ones I own and it compliments so many outfits, oh and it’s also VERY warm! I wore it on our last day in Fuerteventura when we were coming home and let me tell you, wearing a sweatshirt and jeans for 7 hours in a hot airport is NOT GOOD. šŸ˜› I wear this with jeans as well as my denim shorts and tights. When we had snow I LIVED in this as it kept me lovely and snug, without being too cold or even too warm.

  • Ohayou Clothing Umbreon Varsity Jacket.

This is my go to jacket whenever I’m not at work basically, as I don’t think an Umbreon jacket would go down all that well, do you? šŸ˜› I live in this though whenever I’m not at work, as as well as my Eevee version too. I bought this in October and since then have worn it loads! I really want to get more of Ohayou’s varsity jackets as they also have a Vaporeon and Sylveon versions I would love to have.

  • Primark Knitted Dress.

This is a dress I forgot I owned until before Christmas. I still have some bits and pieces ofĀ  mine left at my mom’s house which I need to go through and decide whether to keep or sell. I went to have a look for some potential work pieces and found this dress there. The last 2 times I’d worn it were both at funerals, my cousins and my grans so I decided to stop wearing it as I felt it was “tainted” with negative vibes. However since bringing it home I’ve worn it loads for work and it’s so comfortable and flattering on my figure. I don’t see it as being tainted anymore, but more of a dress I decided to wear to celebrate both my cousin and my grans lives.

  • Marks & Spencer Red Star Shirt.

I bought this dress not long before I went to Fuerteventura and even took it over there with me, although I didn’t wear it once! I love wearing this shirt for work, as well as for personal use. The first time I wore it was for a meal out with Dane and his parents. I teamed it with my denim shorts and tights and I felt so adorable! Now I’ll team it up with a black skater shirt and smart work trousers.

  • YURI!!! On Ice Cardigan.

Not going to lie, my new job was such an excuse for me to buy this cardigan… šŸ˜› I wanted it for ages but at the time it was so expensive at Ā£41.99 but when it went down to Ā£24.99 I snatched it up, as did my best friend Gabriella (HEYYY! :D) so we’re cardigan besties. šŸ˜› This is the most comfortable cardigan I own though and I wore it to death the first week I owned it! I still wear it loads as it’s got really long sleeves and isn’t too thick so isn’t too warm to wear in the office. I wear it with any outfit it’ll work with pretty much.

Lifestyle

  • Persona 5 on PlayStation 4.

This has to be the number one favourite thing of mine from 2017 and thankfully just before the end of the year I FINALLY FINISHED IT and guess what? I’m currently replaying it! Who would have guessed then, eh? This was definitely the game of the year for me and for anyone who knows me, they know how obsessed I have grown for this game and how much more I want from it. Since buying and playing Persona 5, I have since bought and downloaded Persona 4: Golden as well as Persona 4: Dancing All Night. I equally can’t wait for Persona 3: Dancing Moon Night and especially for Persona 5: Dancing Star Night. I really want to review Persona 5 at some point but I’m crap at writing game reviews, I just want to write over and over how much I love it and that’s it. šŸ˜›

Image taken from weheartit.com

  • Kimi No Na Wa/Your Name Anime.

This film had to be the most popular anime film that came out in 2017 and it is clear why. It was a gorgeous film both visually as well as the story line and as soon as me and Dane got the chance to go and watch it, we took it with both hands. I loved the film so much so when Dane’s parents bought me it on Blu-ray I was thrilled! For my birthday a couple of days ago we got some takeaway Japanese food and popped this on the TV to watch. I forgot how much I loved it and this time we watched it in subbed, we watched dubbed at the cinema. I much prefer it in dubbed. šŸ˜› If you haven’t watched this film but love anime, GET ON IT!

  • South Park: The Fractured But Whole on PlayStation 4.

Although I was super excited for this game Persona 5 was the one that stole my heart in 2017. However, this game really holds a place in my heart for various different reasons. I love South Park and have done since it came out in the UK back in the 90’s. It was on Comedy Central as well as on Channel 4 late at night and it was my mom who introduced me to the show. Me and my cousins would stay up late to watch them together and if we never managed to, my aunt would record them for us to watch over the weekend. It was amazing! So when they announced a second game I was super excited! I grew pissed off though at the constant push backs of the release but eventually it stuck and before I knew it it was in my hands and then in my console being played. I finished it not long before Christmas and oh man, what a game! It was definitely different from The Stick Of Truth and I actually think I preferred it due to the story. I’m not saying anything but I wasn’t expecting what happened. This is another game I would love to review, but I’d be dire at it. šŸ˜›

Image taken from weheartit.com

  • American Horror Story TV Series.

Me and Dane started watching this in 2017 and oh man I love it so much, even though we’re very slow on continuing with it at the moment. Series 1 is by far my favourite one to date and the show is just so good. It pulls you in and yet keeps you on the edge of your seat all the same. The acting in it is incredible, especially by Evan Peters who I have fallen in love with thanks to the show, as well as his role of Tate. I can’t wait to continue watching the TV series in 2018.

Image taken from weheartit.com

  • A Silent Voice Manga.

This was by far one of my favourite manga to read this year, as well as one of my favourite anime movies alongside Kimi No Na Wa/Your Name. The manga just shouted out more to me and I found I enjoyed it that little more as you get more about the story from it, as well as learn more about the characters after the film ends. If you loved the anime, I recommend you go and read the manga as it’s so good!

So those are all my picks for my 2017 favourites! I could have picked so many more things, but I thought keeping it to a top 5 was for the best. šŸ˜›

What were your favourite things throughout 2017? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you had a lovely weekend.

What I Got For Christmas!

Christmas is nearly over and bloody hell it went by fast! I can’t believe we’ve had the three magical days fly by us and leave a coating of snow behind.

I hope all of my readers and blogger friends had an amazing Christmas and (although it isn’t important) I hope everyone got what they wanted for Christmas! I know I did and more!

So, (as pretty much most bloggers do now!) I thought I would write about what lovely gifts I got from Dane, my family and friends this Christmas.

I want to disclose here that this is by any means me showing off what I got this year and I never feel like when I read fellow bloggers posts, or watch YouTube videos about it that people are meaning to show off. I love reading and seeing what my fellow bloggers received (as I’m a nosey bitch! :P) as it’s nice to see goodies they’ve wished for throughout the year as well as special meaning behind them! If you feel this is me showing off, click off of this post now because, ain’t nobody got time for that!

NOW! On with the post!

When writing this post I haven’t actually received all my gifts and one of my best friends still hasn’t been able to give me hers, but I’ll be seeing her around my birthday so I can definitely mention it then!

The first gift I want to talk about is the gorgeous little Sylveon print that Sarah over at Raiin Monkey sent me in the post! I wasn’t expecting it and it’s so sweet of her! I’m going to pop it up in the office somewhere so I can look at it whilst doing blog work. šŸ™‚

My friend Jacqui was able give me hers from both her and her boyfriend Chris and it was such a thoughtful and beautiful gift! It may not look like much to many, but we’ve had quite a few cocktail evenings together and my cocktail shaker isn’t the best. It gets stuck and then you struggle to get the lid off. So they bought us this Smirnoff kit, with a gorgeous red and silver shaker in (it matches our kitchen!) as well as a glass and measure cup in! I couldn’t be any happier with it to be honest.

My friend Sophi sent me a little box of goodies and I love them all so much! She sent us some little Japanese sweeties (which sadly we ate before I took my pictures! :P), a Pusheen tote bag and some Pusheen socks, as well as a pair of fox socks. I can’t complain at getting socks and I’ll be wearing them to work to keep my feet toasty over the rest of the winter months! OH and she also put in a cute little Pusheen keychain too, which I’ll pop on my tote bag!

Speaking of Pusheen! Dane’s brother and his girlfriend bought me a gorgeous boxed Pusheen mug with socks! I love it so much and am currently drinking some lemon green tea from it. The socks that came with it are so adorable and have paw prints on the feet. As well as that they also gave me a cute Minnie Mouse face mask as well as a Winky Lux flower balm in green. When you apply it to your lips it works with the PH and turns into a gorgeous light pink! I can’t wait to use this and I’ve wanted one of these since they first came out!

My aunt and cousin both bought me and Dane this gorgeous dachshund pillow which I’m going to have for the chair in the office! As well as that they also picked me up a gold fox keyring which was popped into my Christmas card.

Dane’s gran bought me a little something for Christmas and that’s a Bailey’s gift set with a little glass and some Lindt Lindor chocolates, which I LOVE! This will be enjoyed New Years Eve or on my birthday for definite! šŸ˜€

My sister in law andĀ  my nephews bought me a cute little lip butter set, and it’s so strange! They’re lovely and you get three flavours, coconut, cherry and peppermint.. I’ve never used a lip butter like this before but I’ll definitely be keeping these for work and around the house!

Dane’s parents bought me some lovely gifts and one that really did make me chuckle! The first gift I noticed they’d bought me and one they get me every year is a Lush Christmas gift set! This year they bought me The Snowman gift set. This one contains The Snowman bubbleroon, Butterbear bath bomb, Man In The Moon bubble bar and Snow Angel bath melt. I’m super excited to try Man In The Moon!

They picked me up three hot chocolates on sticks! I LOVE these and they actually bought these from one of our friends coffee stalls in Coventry! These are so amazing and work really well! They bought me a normal one, a mocca one and a peppermint one! I can’t wait to try the peppermint flavour and I’ll definitely make it in my new Pusheen mug. šŸ˜›

One of my favourite presents from Dane’s parents has to be the Your Name Blu-ray that they bought me! This isn’t just the ordinary Blu-ray either, but actually a collector’s edition so it comes with both Blu-ray, DVD and also a CD of the films soundtrack! It’s such a beautiful film and was one of my favourites I’d been to see in the cinema last year. I definitely recommend watching it if you get the chance, or if you have Amazon Prime as it’s on there to watch in both subbed and dubbed right now!

Finally the present that made me chuckle is this little pom pom… That is actually a panic alarm! You pull the keychain and it makes a very loud noise! I doubt I’ll pop this onto my handbag but I’ll definitely keep it inside of my bag for emergencies! You never know to be fair. I get why she picked this up for me though to be honest! In my old job I would get to the car park at 5.30am, I would be the only one, it was dark and at one point we had issues with people hiding in the dark on the level of the car park I was on. It did frighten me! So this gift whilst being strange, as very thoughtful all the same.

Now onto the gifts that Dane bought me, I’m going to save the present my mom bought me until last. Usually I would save Dane’s until then, but wait until you see what she bought for me!

Since moving into our house we have a tradition now of making stockings up for each other, which consist of cute little bits and pieces, as well as Japanese sweets! This was no acceptation this year and we both gifted each other Japanese gifts!

He picked me up an assortment of Japanese treats, which includes some Puccho sweets in ramune flavour (Japanese soda), some sour candy sweets which are also ramune flavoured, some Pokemon grape gummy sweeties and some green matcha flavoured Kit Kats which are MY FAVOURITE! Finally he bought me aĀ GudetamaĀ DIY kit where you get to make a pudding version of Gudetama to eat! I cannot wait to do this and I think I’ll be saving it for my birthday. ^_^

Also in my stocking I had a few other bits and pieces such as a new refill for my Filofax and what a cutie he is, he bought me on in pink! I need to use my Filofax more this year!

Also in my stocking and presents overall was a couple of little Pokemon goodies, all of them are so cute! The first thing I opened was this Eevee pouch type bag, which is an official Pokemon Center item! I don’t know quite yet what I’ll use this for, but I can see it being for feminine products once a month and maybe some random handbag bits and pieces. This was a gift he’d asked me if I liked the look of when we were both having a nose online for gifts for one another. I wasn’t all that fussed at the time but all the same when I opened it Christmas Day I still loved it! It’s a little Eevee which you’re meant to rest over a glass, but I can see me sticking it to the PC monitor or even by the side of my bed. Another Pokemon gift he bought me was this blind box (although he knew which one he’d ordered) which contain desk buddies. Dane bought me this Pikachu one which holds your mobile phone for you. He bought me this to have for work but I want to have it for by my bed! It’s so cute and such a thoughtful gift all the same.

One of my favourite gifts from Dane just has to be this onigiri squishy keyring from Tofu Cute! I get anxious during long car journeys, as well as in other certain situations! This not only feels relaxing to squish over and over, but it’s also scented with (what I think anyway) strawberries! On the way to and from Coventry for Christmas Day I was squishing away at this, as well as whilst at Dane’s parents on the day! It’s going to end up living in my handbag for when I feel anxious or angry and need to relieve some tension.

One of the presents I had asked for for Christmas after discovering its existence are these Haku chopsticks. Haku is the dragon from Spirited Away and is my favourite Studio Ghibli character! I didn’t know if these chopsticks would be real or fake, but when I inspected the packet they are in fact real and Studio Ghibli approved!

The first main gift that I opened was this, The Manga Cookbook, which also came with a pack of chopsticks! I love cooking Japanese food, especially if I’m craving Japanese and I can’t and don’t want to go out and eat or buy any. This is a cute little gift and I can’t wait for me and Dane to cook recipes together from it.

The next gifts are these two little Pokemon Center plushies, which are like Beanie Babies! I’ve been collecting these for a few years now, thanks to Dane but they’re now so hard to get hold of! I found someone in the UK selling these 2 for a decent price and I didn’t know if Dane wou;d pick them up or not… Alas he did and they’re so adorable! We have a Flareon and a Raichu here and they’ll go so well with my other Eeveelutions, as well as with my Pikachu!

If you got back and take a look at the Christmas wish list I made on Christmas Eve (which you can read here) you’ll see that I wished for a lot of anime shows/films on Blu-ray and apart from one, all of the ones I asked for I got! Two of those being A Silent Voice and Your Lie In April part 2. Alongside Your Name, A Silent Voice was one of my favourite films from 2017 and I’m so stocked to have it on Blu-ray! The box itself is gorgeous and I cannot wait to binge watch it with Dane one of the evenings this week. This is the collector’s edition Blu-ray too, which also includes a DVD and a special booklet that tells you all about the film, as well as about the manga.

The second Blu-ray Dane bought for me is part 2 of Your Lie In April, which is the final part of the special collector’s edition! He bought me part 1 and the special box at the start of the year for my birthday, so now I’m so happy to finally have the box set completed! This is definitely the first thing I’ll be watching with Dane out of all of the Blu-rays I received as I want to binge watch all of this with him! I haven’t continued to watch anymore of it until I had all of the box set for us to binge watch!

Aside from my main presents this was probably one of my favourites to be honest! It’s The Art Of Persona 5 and I have been lusting after this book since they announced it way back in the summer! I’m so pleased Dane bought it for me to be honest as on Christmas Day after I opened it I had a good flick through the whole thing and I cannot wait to sit down with a cup of coffee and read the whole thing, cover to cover. This year I discovered Persona 5, as well as the Persona franchise! I haven’t fallen in love with a franchise this hard since Pokemon and I am so chuffed that back when it came out at the start of the year that I bought it.

Finally we have the main gifts from Dane and my favourites! These are the 2 Nendoroid’s that Dane bought for me this Christmas and I was so surprised to be honest with you! I mentioned on my Christmas wish list that I had a feeling Dane would have bought me Yuri but when I opened Viktor and THEN Yuri I was so happy! I couldn’t have asked for better Nendoroid’s to have received this Christmas and I feel like such a lucky girl. We have no room right now to put these up anywhere so sadly they’ll be staying in the boxes until we have room. But I love my 2 YURI!!! boys so much and I cannot wait to play with them and display them in the future! So many YURI!!! On Ice Nendoroid’s have been announced lately that we will definitely be getting in the future!

Dane really spoilt me this year and I am so grateful for everything I received! I know I have another present arriving that he ordered me, it’s nothing special but it’s the thought that counts! FYI it’s a Macaroon Treats Yankee Candle!

Now onto my final present and definitely the one that blew me away the most. I was so surprised when I opened it to discover my mom had bought me a Dyson hairdryer! I know these aren’t cheap to be honest and I’ve lusted after one since they were announced, so the fact that my mom bought me one makes me feel so loved and special. I still can’t believe she bought it for me and after trying it, I really do adore it. I wish she could read how thankful and grateful I am.

So those were all the goodies I got for Christmas and I am so, SO thankful to everyone who bought myself, as well as Dane gifts this year!

What did you get for Christmas? Big or small I would love to hear what you got from loved ones. You know where to tell me. šŸ˜‰

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re all resting after loads of Christmas and Boxing Day dinners!

Christmas Wish List To Father Christmas – Now & Then

This is the post I mentioned at the start of the month that I was looking forward to doing! I decided that for this year I wouldn’t just do my normal Christmas wish list at the start of December and decided that I would do it on Christmas Eve as a sort of, “Father Christmas I’ve been good please bring me this and that and that!”

But I then changed my mind and had an even better idea! I decided as well as doing my Christmas wish list for this year, I would do one as I would have when I was 7 years old! The nostalgic feels will be all over the start of this post and I really hope you guys enjoy reading it, as much as I had putting it all together!

  • Happy Monday Store INU INU T-Shirt – Ā£15.23 (link)

I discovered this brand through a girl on Instagram who is all Japanese themed. Basically into the shizzle I’m into! She got sent this t-shirt and I fell in love with it! It’s got a cute little shiba on it, but he’s getting his face squished and pulled and AHH SO DAMN CUTE! I’m really hoping that Dane has bought me this for Christmas, otherwise I’ll be ordering it after my birthday. šŸ˜›

  • Firebox My Neighbour Slippers – Ā£29.99 (link)

I’m always down with anything that will help me feel all warm and snuggly in my own home! I live for putting my pajamas and slippers on as soon as I get home from work, and who can go wrong with wearing Totoro slippers?! These look so amazing and they’re not cheap, no but come on… They’re Studio Ghibli, they aren’t going to be! šŸ˜›

  • Good Smile Company Nendoroid Yuri!!! On Ice Yuri KatsukiĀ – Ā£44.95 (link)

I didn’t have a clue what Nendoroid to add to my Christmas wish list, but I thought Yuri Katsuki from Yuri!!! On Ice would be a good one to add for sure. This is a Nendoroid I really hope Dane has bought me for Christmas he’s gorgeous and I really want to get him and Viktor to put with our collection. Any other Nendoroid’s I want are probably really old and very rare ones. In all fairness though, I don’t care which Nendoroid(s) I get from Dane for Christmas, I’ll be happy with any!

  • Your Name Manga Vol. 2 – Ā£7.98 (link)
  • Your Name Collector’s Edition Steelbook Blu-ray – Ā£24.99 (link)

I LOVED Your Name so much when me and Dane went to watch it in the cinema so I would love to not only get the collector’s edition blu-ray for Christmas, but I really want volume 2 of the manga to read! I picked up volume 1 in the summer when it came out and it’s so good. If you loved the anime, then you will probably love the manga even more! I also really want the Your Name Nendoroid’s too! šŸ˜›

  • Pokemon Indigo League Season 1 Blu-ray – Ā£49.99 (link)

As regular readers will know (or anyone to be fair…) I am a MASSIVE Pokemon fan and I remember back in the day waking up early to catch the weeks episode of Pokemon on SM:TV Live. Earlier this year I binge watched all of the episodes of Pokemon Indigo League on Netflix. When I saw that this was coming out, I was super excited and it was one of the first items added to my Christmas wish list! I really hope I get this so me and Dane can binge watch it whilst I’m off work over Christmas.

  • Your Lie In April Part 2 Blu-ray – Ā£41.09 (link)

This is an anime I fell in love with this time last year. Dane bought me part 1 on blu-ray for my birthday this year and back in April part 2 came out. it’s a limited edition set and of course I NEED part 2 to add to my collection. Again, I hope I get this so me and Dane can watch it all together. I haven’t actually finished watching this anime, but I’ve read all of the manga. It’s amazing but really quite sad.

  • A Silent Voice Blu-ray – Ā£29.99 (link)

ANOTHER ANIME BLU-RAY! Oh man, I’m so sorry! šŸ˜› I had so many blu-rays on my wish list, all anime related! This was my favourite film of this year and is one I was so stoked to go and see and I left the cinema feeling great. I bought the whole manga series after and read them all so quickly. Again, it’s by far one of my favourite manga series as well as anime films. Dane recently wanted to watch this again in dubbed, as we saw it subbed in the cinema. A part of me hopes I have the collectors edition of this for Christmas. I can see me binge watching this loads if I get it.

  • Pokemon Center Vulpix’s Crystal Season Purse/Wallet – Ā£37.99 (link)

This is a wallet I regret not asking YY Kawaii to pick up from Japan for me back in October when she was out there! I got one thing from that collection, that being a notebook. This wallet is so damn cute and I could imagine it getting just as much attention as my Loungefly Pokemon handbag. I doubt very much that I’ll get this for Christmas and with that I doubt I’d be missing out. šŸ˜›

  • Studio Ghibli Spirited Away Haku Chopsticks – Ā£10.78 (link)

I LOVE using chopsticks and whenever I get the chance to use them, I do. I have 2 pairs my friend Sophi (HEY! :D) gifted me over the past couple of years and they’re amazing! When Dane asked me to look for some little present ideas, I found these Haku chopsticks. Haku makes me happy, merch especially, as well as artwork so I would be so stoked to use chopsticks with him on too!

  • Studio Ghibli Spirited Away No Face Sweater – Ā£24.99 (link)

Another Studio Ghibli item, but whatever! šŸ˜› Truffle Shuffle are really on it right now with the Studio Ghibli merch and this and the Totoro sweater they’ve brought out are amazing. I would love this to snuggle up in with shorts and my Docs! I’d love them to bring out a Haku one but I doubt they will. If I got this I’d totally wear it for New Years Eve!

  • Lush The Man On The Moon Gift Set – Ā£44.95 (link)

Finally we have my last Christmas wish list item on here and of course it has to be a bit of Lush! šŸ˜› Dane asks me every year to find a gift set or two from Lush that I like the look of, one for him to possibly get and one for his parents to possibly get. I linked quite a few for him and sadly this isn’t one he would accept due to the price. BUT it’s the one I actually really, REALLY loved and wanted! First of all I love the re-usable tin, as well as all the night time themed products inside, which I’d love to use on pamper evenings and weekends. It also contains quite a lot of items I’ve never tried before either! If I don’t get this for Christmas I’ll try and get some in the Boxing Day sale.

Now that I’ve done my actual wish list for “Father Christmas” this year (Father Christmas being Dane pretty much! :P) it’s time to go back in time to what I would have asked for Christmas 20 years ago when I was seven years old. šŸ™‚

Just a little disclaimer though, I don’t think all of these came out in 1997, some may be 1996 and later but meh I remember receiving these over Christmas… You get the idea! šŸ˜›

  • Loveable Bears.

These were cute little bear keyrings that came in different colours and scents! I can’t remember which I had to be honest, I have a feeling I had mint and strawberry. I know I had 2! They came with little bottles and if they cried you would feed them. They were like little Tamagotchi’s and were so adorable and fun to have on your backpack. Not so fun and adorable if they cried though!

  • Barbie & Ginger Doll.

This was one of my favourite Barbie’s, for so many reasons. First of all, look how cute and fluffy Barbie’s golden retriever Ginger looks! Second of all, it moves and third of all Barbie rides a skateboard, which Ginger helps her to achieve. As a kid this was just all kinds of wonderful to me and I remember playing with it all Christmas Day and onwards.

  • Doodle Bear Pets.

I remember getting a Doodle Bear when they first came out and I loved writing and drawing all over it, only for my mom to wash it so I could have myself a blank canvas all over again. I remember seeing the Doodle Bear Dog and I pleaded with Father Christmas to get it for me, which he obviously did! šŸ˜› I never drew on it though to be honest, I loved it too much to be honest to, “ruin” it.

  • Pocahontas Braided Beauty Doll.

This was definitely one of my favourite dolls, EVER! The first film I saw in the cinema was Pocahontas and I was in love with that film, and it’s still one of my favourite Disney films to date, especially my favourite Disney Princess. I never even knew this doll existed until Father Christmas gave it to me. I was in love! Not only did it come with a Pocahontas doll, but of course it also came with a Meeko who would braid yours and her hair. What else could a girl ask for? šŸ˜›

  • Baby Born Doll.

This was one of the baby dolls that really opened up the market for the future of dolls like this. It would eat the “baby food” you gave it and poop it out, pee the “milk” you would feed it and even cry “real tears”! It was a hit with kids alike and I was so excited to open mine on Christmas Day! That doll really did last ages and I loved it so much. Due to it peeing and pooping so much you would constantly have to put nappies on it to catch all of that, or at least some washable type knickers. Mine broke after a couple of years and the water you could give it as “milk” would leak out of it’s arm and leg joints. I loved that doll though, so damn much!

  • Home Alone Talkboy.

Finally we have the one toy every kid wanted, as well as teenagers at the time I’m sure! I remember being gifted one of these after 1997 (I think anyway…) but I just had to mention it here! I remember watching Home Alone 2 and not really thinking, “oh man I want that recording thing he has!” but when I got one I loved it! I didn’t realise until researching the toys to add to this post that this was actually made because it was in Home Alone 2! It wasn’t a toy until after that movie, how cool is that?! It was just a prop and because loads of fans asked about it, they made it. What legends!

Oh man I have to be honest and say this is one of my favourite posts I’ve done in a long time, purely because of remembering some of my favourite toys from Christmases years ago. I can’t believe I was seven 20 years ago! That makes me feel hella old. šŸ˜›

Well it’s Christmas Eve, I hope you’re all ready for tomorrow to spend a lovely day with your loved ones. I hope if you have children they get everything they wanted and wished for from Father Christmas.

But I’ve said it many times over the years and I’ll say it again, don’t forget that Christmas isn’t a time that everyone is happy. It’s also one the worst days of the year for people with mental health. If you know someone who needs support this time of year, please support them if you can. If you’re someone who isn’t feeling their best Christmas Day, please seek support, whether it be from friends and family, or even Samaritans. I’ve been depressed over the Christmas period and it’s really crippling, especially when it’s that time of year when you’re meant to be “okay”.

I’ll leave all the links and numbers down below for anyone who needs to reach out and get support this Christmas. Also, if you ever need someone to talk to, I’m always willing to listen and support. You can find me over @maybeecoffee on Twitter.

July Favourites ’17

Woohoo it’s getting closer to my holiday now which is really exciting! July went by super quick to be honest and it took me ages to remember what happened throughout the month, let alone what products I was loving. šŸ˜›

Finally I came up with some beauty products I loved, but it wasn’t easy! This also includes my non beauty favourites too!

  • NSPA Fruits Blueberry Shower and Bath Gel.

This has been a shower gel I’ve really enjoyed using throughout the month, which I’m sure you can tell from the fact that it’s pretty much empty now! I reviewed this shower gel as well as two others here a month or two ago. Blueberry scented things are a definite must have for me, as it’s my favourite fruit! Also you can’t go wrong if the colour blue or purple comes with it too. This shower and bath gel has a light but fragrant scent to it and it’s really refreshing too, which makes it a perfect shower and bath gel to use throughout the summer. I mostly used this as a shower gel, but occasionally I did also use it in the bath which created some lovely soft bubbles. I have the strawberry one to use up next!

  • L’Oreal Paris Pure Clay Blemish Rescue Face Mask.

This is a face mask I have really been loving using since I bought it and in a short period of time I have noticed such a huge difference to my skin! It’s made me really happy! I broke out so badly towards the end of July and I was gutted, but after using this mask again it really did help calm my skin down and pretty much make my spots go away in a matter of days. I cannot recommend this face mask enough to people with spot prone skin and oily skin. You can read my review for it here!

  • Maybelline Color Drama Intense Lip Paint in Vamped Up.

You know when you rediscover a lip product you used to love? Yeah I did this Ā in July with this gorgeous purple lip paint! It’s one of my favourite purple lipsticks I own and it’s also one of the best types of lipstick to apply to! Granted due to the dark purple shade you need to use a lip liner with it. I wore it out for a day of shopping with Dane and popped some blue highlighter on the top to give it a pop of colour! I love the combination so damn much! I’ll definitely be packing this lipstick with me for my holiday as I really want to recreate the look whilst I’m in Fuerteventura!

  • The Body Shop Peppermint Intensive Cooling Foot Rescue.Ā

Now as weird as it’ll sound I haven’t just been using this on my feet, but I’ve been mostly using this on my hands. I’ve heard of people saying they use it on their hands when they’re in need of some series TLC and I never got why. Now I do! I gave it a go randomly when my hands were really sore and dry and since then after using this daily before work my hands have really thanked me for it. They’re lovely and soft and to be fair after using my hands smell minty and gorgeous! Can’t go wrong with that. I’ve also been using this on both mine and Dane’s feet to keep them lovely and soft. I want to try and keep my feet looking good before the holiday! šŸ˜›

  • Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb EDP.

This is by far one of my favourite perfumes I own (it’s in my top 10) and it’s one I go back to once in a while. It’s one of those scents that just smells really good and is one that will get heads turning if someone walks past you with it on. I like to think that happens when I wear it in all fairness. šŸ˜› It’s more of a winter scent for myself but I don’t know, I just fancied wearing it one day last month and it stuck for over a week. I try not to use it too much though considering it’s one of my favourites. I want to use my least favourite scents up first! šŸ˜›

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – Preacher and One Punch Man.

Holy shit I have so much to say about Preacher! It’s a show I wasn’t sure I would like last year when me and Dane started watching it, but it’s fast turned into a show I adore. To be honest what got me to watch it was when Dane told me that Joseph Gilgun was in it as an Irish vampire. Was instantly hooked. šŸ˜› For those of you who don’t know who Gilgun is, he’s in the gif above as his character in Preacher, Cassidy. He’s always Woody in This Is England and Ruddy in Misfits, as well as many more TV shows and films. I’ll pop a synopsis here because it’ll explain it better than I could. šŸ˜›

Fulfilling a promise to his deceased father, one-time outlaw Jesse Custer returns home to West Texas to take over his dad’s church. Jesse’s mission, however, becomes twisted when his body is overcome by a cryptic force that unleashes within him a highly unconventional power. Together with hell-raising ex-girlfriend Tulip and Irish vagabond Cassidy, the preacher-in-training embarks on a journey to find God in a world inhabited by holy, hellish, and everything-in-between characters. The darkly comedic “Preacher” is based on Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s popular 1990s comic book franchise of the same name. Executive producers include Sam Catlin (“Breaking Bad”), and Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (“Superbad,” “Neighbors”).

It’s an amazing show based off of a comic book and if you’re up for watching a show with some dark humour and some talented British/Irish actors then I recommend you watch it! It’s only available on Amazon Prime however as it’s an exclusive for there, but it’s definitely worth buying alone to watch the show for a month or two.

Dane recently bought the One Punch Man blu-ray so OF COURSE we Ā had to binge watch it! I was never really into One Punch Man when the “craze” around it started, but I remember Dane putting it on for us to watch online and I loved it! So it was somewhat nostalgic when re watching it. We watched it originally not long after moved into the house so it reminds me of that time. I love the gif above of Saitama dancing. SO KAWAII!!!

Favourite Film – Spider-Man: Homecoming.

I was so excited about seeing this film because in comparison to the two previous Spider-Men I actually had high hopes for this one. I’ll say it, Tom Holland did an amazing job as Peter Parker and it’s just how I would have imagined back in 2003 when I was playing the PlayStation Spider-Man game. I just loved the movie so much, but not enough to get all die hard fan about it. I’m glad we went to watch it a few days after it came out too. We made a proper late night movie date night with it, which I loved. I can’t wait for Venom to come out now, I hope Tom Hardy does the part too. This is going to be an exciting part of Marvel!

Favourite Book – Your Name manga and Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid manga.

I said last month how I hadn’t been reading much, and that certainly wasn’t a lie. This month however I haven’t read LOADS but I’ve read more! I finished off the first volume of Your Name and I honestly can’t wait for volume 2 to come out in November!

As well as that I’ve continued on with reading the Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid series and I’m currently reading volume 3. I guess I’m trying to make my manga last as long as I possibly can. I still have K-ON! to read, which I was trying to save for holiday but I doubt I will now. I’ve also started to buy the Persona 3 manga series so I’ll be reading those as soon as I can get my hands on the rest of them!

Favourite Song/Album – FlyleafĀ New Horizons.

You know when you forget all about a band you love? Well I did that recently with Flyleaf. They’re a band I discovered during my final year of university and have followed them for almost 10 years now. My favourite album is definitelyĀ New Horizons due to how the songs all sound. You have a mixture of dancey songs in there as well as serious. I just find I love all the songs and I don’t even want to skip one to hear another. My favourite song from the album has to be… “Bury Your Heart”. Either that or “Stand”. That being said though I love all the songs off of the album.

Favourite Game – Persona 5…

YES PERSONA 5 IS STILL MY FAVOURITE. FUCK YOU! šŸ˜›

I’m sorry but yes I am still playing this game as I’m 1. taking my time playing it because I want it to last as long as humanly possible and 2. I fucking love it. I honestly haven’t loved a game for years and I am relishing in it right now. I have bought Persona 4 Golden to play when I’m on holiday and I can see me buying another Persona game on my PS Vita in the future. SPEAKING OF! I bought a PS Vita at the start of the month when I got paid and it’s definitely something I am so glad I bought. It means if I want to play Persona 5 when Dane wants to play on his Xbox One I can just pop it on the Vita. It’s amazing quality too, which makes me happy.

Now I’ve spoken about it I must go and play it… šŸ˜›

So those are my favourites from last month. What products were you loving? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time take care all and here’s to another month!

Currently #10

It’s July and it has also been WAY TOO LONG since I last wrote a currently list! List number 9 was way back in March. It honestly feels like yesterday when I was writing that one which I’ll also link here if you want to go and check it out! šŸ˜€

Due to the minor issues that have come up on my blog with Photobucket (which I wrote about recently here) not allowing my images to show anymore (IN MY HEAD IT’S ACTUALLY A FUCKING CAR CRASH AND I’M BURNING…) I’m trying to quickly get a blog post out there for you awesome lot!

It’s my day off and I could easily say I have done sod all, but I’ve actually done LOADS of housework and had to pop out with Dane this afternoon to run some errands and get the McFlurry that I’ve been craving for God knows how long (FYI before anymore suggests, no I am not pregnant. I’m just a fat bitch and love ice cream. :P) so that was pretty awesome, especially considering how hot it is today.

So now after playing Persona 5 for a couple of hours and cooking me and Dane dinner I’m now sat at the computer with every window open, my headphones on and my random playlist of music on.

Let’s get on with currently number 10! šŸ˜€

Watching – I can’t honestly say I’ve watched anything major recently. Me and Dane finished RuPaul’s Drag Race season 9 and my girl Sasha Velour won, which I was so damn happy and proud of! She definitely did the best throughout the competition in my opinion so I’m just so chuffed. Me and my best friend Gabriella have already said we’ll be going to see her live when she comes to the UK. Oh man I cannot wait for that day! We also finished watching Attack on Titan season 2 and it was fucking amazing! I didn’t feel bored at all throughout and if anything was on the edge of my seat after every single episode. Dane is up to date on the manga series at the moment which is quite far ahead of the anime, so after every episode ended I would turn to him and ask him to explain what’s going on and what will happen next. I won’t talk too much about it as I know whilst a lot of UK fans have watched it, I also know some who read my blog and haven’t. I don’t want to spoil any of it for you lovely lot, just hurry up and watch it already! šŸ˜‰

Image taken from Netflix

A show we did binge watch last month however was GLOW, which is a Netflix exclusive show created by the same people at Orange is The New Black, which we also binge watched last month and for your information, Piper still annoys the fuck out of me. ANYWAY! GLOW is about the Glamorous Women of Wresting and is set in the 80’s. From looking for a gif for this post I discovered that this was an ACTUAL thing in the 80’s, which I think is pretty cool! At first I wasn’t sure if I would like the show as the trailer didn’t really do it any justice after watching. I also worried I would dislike the main character Ruth. She’s an aspiring actress who can’t seem to get a break and a role that she so badly wants. That is until she joins GLOW. Some other stuff happens along the show and it just makes the show great! My favourite character by far is Sam, who is the director of GLOW. He’s got a sarcastic and dry sense of humour which I love so damn much. At times I just wanted to reach into the screen and pat him on the back… and maybe a cuddle. They’ve already announced a season 2 by the looks of it and judging by how season 1 ended it needs to have another season! I cannot wait to be honest as I already know it’ll be amazing. I already miss all the characters.

Reading – I’ve really not been reading as much as I used to and instead have replaced that with playing Persona 5 and focusing loads of my blog. This is also mainly due to manga series I’m reading being finished or having to wait for new volumes to come out. I did however recently buy Your Name (Kimi no Na wa in Japanese) manga, to coincide with the anime movie with the same name. I finished the first volume recently and it is amazing! I’m really excited to read the rest as they have added a little more to the manga than they did in the anime. I also recently bought volume 3 of Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid. I really love the manga as again, it is telling Ā more of a story than the anime did. Volume 3 also appears to introduce a new dragon that watchers of the anime won’t have seen yet! Other than that, that is all I have read recently. I still have K-ON! to read but I want to save those for my holiday. I can’t see this happening however. šŸ˜›

Listening – I haven’t really listened to any new albums lately, not even the new cKy album, which I have shocked myself with! Sadly I just haven’t felt like I’ve had time to sit down and properly listen to it. I might however get Dane to download it tomorrow if not over the weekend for us to listen to together after I finish work over the weekend.

I have found myself listening to loads of anime and game music however, which I’m loving! One of the opening songs from Gintama has stuck in my head and I love it so much! There is a full version of this song but I thought I’d just show the one from the actual opening. This is an anime Dane has been watching so when I heard this song I instantly fell in love with the chorus. It’s just so damn catchy and sounds so positive. Also as weeabo as this sounds, Gintama is a little itty bitty titty hot. xD

Otherwise any other music I’ve been listening to lately has been a mixture of Nirvana, Daft Punk and random bits and pieces on both my YouTube account and on my iPod.

Eating – Mmm food huh? I haven’t really been eating properly lately due to my mental health acting up. I find if anything I’ve not eaten anything special and just binging on carbs, but that’s the norm for me! šŸ˜› Me and Dane have eaten less takeaways lately which is great of course! šŸ˜›

Me and Dane did recently visit an amazing milkshake and waffle place with our friends Lee and Sam and it was amazing. I went for a Ferraro Roche waffle and surprisingly I ate it all! Me and Dane also shared a Nutella milkshake actually out of a Nutella jar, which had a brownie on the top! It was really nice but a little too sugary for myself. Otherwise it was great and I can see us all going there again in the future.

Wearing – God it’s been so damn hot that I feel like I’ve hardly been wearing anything! Been living in dresses and my short pyjamas pretty much. I bought a couple of Pokemon pairs from Primark recently and I still wear them to death and wear them loads. I’ve also been wearing the cKy baseball tee I bought at their gig to death! I love it so much and a part of me can see me taking it on holiday to wear to chill out in in the day and evenings. I also bought myself a Pikachu dress recently and I’ve only worn it once so far but I intend to wear it again very soon. For how much I paid for it it’s so damn comfortable and makes me feel great when I wear it.

Wanting – Oh what don’t I want? To win loads of money on a scratch card, to have more holiday time from work so I can do stuff to the house and speaking of the house new windows! A holiday to Japan is also another thing I desperately want right now. There’s all sorts I want though to be honest. I’ve fallen in love with a few pieces from the VANS x Peanuts collection, as well as some Killstar dresses. OH and don’t even get me started on some of the latest Nendoroid releases that both me and Dane want. It’s all just money though at the moment. Right now though all I want is a break. A break from my anxiety as my head is on and off a mess right now and it pisses me off something awful. 😦

Wow so that was my currently number 10! I love that I’ve written that many over the past couple of years now and it makes me so happy. I’m not going to stop here though, I’ll continue writing these as I really love to be able to keep you guys up to date on things I’m currently loving.

Of course I would love to hear what things you’re currently loving. Make sure to let me know in the comments tomorrow if not over at my Twitter page @maybeecoffee

Until next time take care all, I hope you’re having a great week so far. Not long not and it’ll be the weekend!

June Wish List ’17

It’s the sixth month of the year, which means we are officially halfway through 2017 AND it’s also the month of both mine and Dane’s four year anniversary as well as our first anniversary since we got the keys to the house. YAY!

It’s also another month where I need to watch my money and be good… Which I don’t think I’ve really done this month sadly. 😦 I’ve bought things here and there. URGH! If I buy anything next month though it’ll be something for Dane’s anniversary present. He wants a Fitbit but they’re so expensive! 😄

Although I need to be good it won’t stop me wishing for things I can’t have! šŸ˜›

  • Smoko Elodie Unicorn Ramen Bowl – $29.99 (link)

I’ve always wanted a proper ramen bowl but I’ve never really found one I like the look of. I discovered this a couple of months ago when I saw that Smoko had a Kickstarter page going and I found they had created a ramen bowl to go alongside their Elodie mug, which I also want! I was going to back the Kickstarter they were doing but when I saw how much they were charging extra because of me being in the UK, I changed my mind. Very sad times. I’d still love this bowl though! It’ll be something I get when I have some spare cash. Import from the USA will be a fucking fortune.

  • Firebox My Neighbour Totoro Mug – Ā£16.99 (link)

Okay so it’s not like I need anymore mugs… BUT who can resist this one? Honesty! I love Totoro just as much as most people in the world so this mug is right up my street. I love how he has a lid which obviously makes for his ears. I don’t know what I’d use a mug with a lid for. My mom does all the time… šŸ˜› I’d have this for hot chocolates to be honest in winter time. You could put marshmallows inside and pop the lid on to help them melt! YES THIS IS THE BEST IDEA EVER!

  • PS Vita Slim – Prices vary depending whether you buy new or second hand…

I REALLY want a PS Vita… Don’t ask me why I just do! I love my Nintendo 2DS loads and although I don’t play it as much as I used to I do love my handheld consoles and enjoy playing them. I guess I just want to add another to my collection. I also like a lot of the exclusive games on there and they’re super cheap now to buy on the official PS store so why not get one now? Sadly they’re only mostly available second hand and are Ā£80-Ā£150 depending which one you get. The slim is what I want and is sadly more expensive. Places like GAME and CEX sell them second hand so if me and Dane go through with our ideas for anniversary presents I may be getting this and he may be getting a Fitbit. šŸ˜›

  • Root Letter PS4 Game – Ā£20.00 (link)

I don’t really need a new game for my PS4 anytime soon as I can see Persona 5 taking up much of my life until The Fractured But Whole comes out later this year. BUT I have looked into Root Letter and it looks pretty damn cool! It’s set in Japan for a start, which is a genre of games I appear to enjoy now. It’s a murder mystery style game which looks and sounds really interesting. For Ā£20.00 if I really want to grab myself something else to play alongside Persona 5, at least I know it won’t break the bank!

  • Your Name Manga Vol. 1 – Ā£9.99 (link)

I did a little digging last month about Your Name after I saw it in the cinema in April and I delightfully discovered that the film was being turned into a novel AND a manga! I knew I would want to pick up the manga, and guess what? IT’S OUT THIS MONTH! I’ll want to pre order it or at least order it the day it comes out… But money… I may order the novel though for when I go on holiday. I’d love to add it to my collection.

  • Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid Manga Vol. 3 – Ā£9.98 (link)

This is a manga I’ll definitely be pre ordering closer to the release date! I’ve been waiting patiently for it to come out for a couple of months now so it’s something I need to read! šŸ˜€ I love Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, especially the anime! I soon picked up the manga and although I don’t like it as much as the anime, it’s still great.

  • cKy The Phoenix Album – Ā£6.99 (link)

Oh my I am sooooo excited for this album to come out this month! I’ll be downloading it as soon as possible to listen to in the car. I love cKy so much and they’re one of my favourite bands so it’s going to be like seeing an old friend hearing the new album. I already know however that it’s going to be completely different to the previous four albums and I’m unsure if I’m excited or nervous about this… We shall see…

  • Secret Key Pink Racoony Hydro-Gel Eye & Cheek Patch – Ā£12.47 (link)

I’ve had my eye Ā on these for a couple of months now as they look pretty amazing to be honest and I have heard some mixed reviews on them. They’re cute little pink patches that you apply to your under eyes and cheeks. I’d only use these on my eyes though to give me a cooling sensation, help my bags and wake me up a little. They sound like they’d last ages as well and at a decent price. PLUS the raccoon on the packaging is so damn cute! Which is something that first attracted me to the product… šŸ˜›

I feel like this months wish list is so boring… I also feel like there was so much more stuff that I actually wanted… Obviously not! I really need to watch my month this month as I was a little naughty in May… I’m meant to be saving up for the holiday in September as well as stuff for the garden. FUCK SAKE I HATE BEING AN ADULT!

What items are on your wish list for June? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time take care all and I hope you’re having a lovely weekend so far.
