It is December, the month of Christmas, New Year and impending skintness (don’t think that’s a word…) and feeling bloated after eating loads of food!
I’m really rooting for this month to be a good one in all ways, shapes and forms! My Christmas tree is up, I’m getting towards the end of my Christmas shopping, some of our Christmas food has been ordered and I have a week off soon! I’m definitely ready for some time away with Dane to relax and get excited for Christmas Day as well as New Year.
I cannot believe how quickly November went by, it flew and considering how busy this month has been for me, I’m not at all surprised. We were in lockdown for pretty much all of November but work has been crazy busy. I think I needed it after how shit September and October were.
This might be the last full favourites post of 2020 so I wanted to raise some changes here for the New Year. I did mention this briefly in my life lately post last week. Basically I won’t be talking about as many beauty items anymore. My blog has definitely moved away from beauty, so whilst I will mention one or two items each month, I want to focus mainly on geeky items and more. I’ll be looking to talk more about things I’ve really loved that month, as well as share more such as my favourite purchase(s) of the month, blogs and more. I’m really excited for this much needed change.
So, without anymore waffling on, let’s get on with the favourites!
Australian Bodycare Skin Wash.
This is a product I have relied on quite a lot lately. My dermatitis hasn’t gotten any better and towards the end of November it seemed to spread onto my other hand… I kind of had a mass panic about it. It’s bad enough having a massive mark on one hand, let alone both. I decided to discontinue use of any products aside from my tea tree skin wash and my newest shampoo (which will be mentioned!). I do find this really helped so I may try and so it more often and maybe even start to use as a hand wash when I’ve used up all the hand wash I have at the moment by Childs Farm.
Faith in Nature Natural Lemon & Tea Tree Shampoo.
I decided to try a new brand of shampoo recently and this one is pretty decent to be perfectly honest with you! It’s SLS and sulphate free which is always a good thing. I didn’t actually mean to buy the lemon and tea tree variant and I purely wanted the tea tree version. However, I do really love this one though. It’s good for oily hair, which isn’t particularly something I have (aka I don’t have to wash my hair often) but if I can try and prevent oil then why not! Although I do love this shampoo I don’t know if I would buy again… Just because I really love my Maui vanilla shampoo. ๐
So now my beauty favourites are done… YES! I am only mentioning two this month! I decided to start talking about less beauty products starting now. I can only think of two at the moment that really stand out and I don’t want to force more to talk about if I don’t need to. ๐
So… Now it’s time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month! If there isn’t anything I’ve done I’m not going to mention. Aka reading – so favourite book won’t be mentioned.
Favourite TV Show/Stuff To Watch – PaymoneyWubby on Twitch.
Okay I know this isn’t a TV show BUT this is literally what I’ve been binge watching throughout November. PaymoneyWubby is a Twitch streamer and YouTuber Dane discovered a couple of years ago and since then we’ve really enjoyed his content on YouTube. About a year ago I checked out his Twitch but I wasn’t keen. Recently he brought out a YouTube video (he hadn’t had any content out for a while…) and we decided to check out his Twitch again. Of course we’re hooked now and I’ve been catching up on previous videos/streams, as well as current and newer ones. He does random streams including watching funny videos, playing games and more. It’s good to listen to and chill with and it’s been especially great to put on whilst cooking, working and playing games. The video I’ve popped above is from his YouTube channel where he puts all the highlights from the Twitch streams. This one was really funny… To me anyway. ๐
Favourite Movie โย Tropic Thunder.
Tropic Thunderย has been out over ten years now and would you believe I’ve only just watched it? I cannot for the life of me remember why I never watched it… I was coming up to leaving college when this came out and from memory friends and my ex had all said it was shit… So it put me off. However, Dane recently made a joke from the film, “Everybody knows you never go full retard.”ย and I didn’t get it. So he explained it, popped the clip up on YouTube for me to watch and after finding out I’d not seen the film, he bought it for us to watch. It’s a pretty good film and I’m glad I’ve finally watched it to be perfectly honest with you. ๐
Favourite Songs – Regard – “Ride It” and Imany – “Don’t Be So Shy” (Filatov & Karas Remix).
I discovered both of these songs in November and I have quickly fallen in love with them! It’s crazy how you can fall for songs and gravitate towards them. I’ve found myself listening to these daily before, during and after work. They’re just good house/deep house tracks and ones that I feel anyone could enjoy. Although I mostly love rock music, I do have a love for electronica/house music too and this is due to the music I was brought up with. ๐
Pokemon Shield is a game I’ve been playing loads throughout November as I’m looking to complete the Pokedex. However, I finally finished the game – aka became the champion! It’s only taken me a year. ๐ Dane has also been playing Pokemon (Pokemon Sword) and we’ve both been enjoying sitting down over an evening/weekend and playing it together. Currently my main Pokedex is at 372 caught and Isle of Armor Pokedex is 190. I’m yet to start playing The Crown Tundra but I have been sent Pokemon from that region via surprise link/wonder trading. Someone sent me a Dratini and I was OVER THE MOON. Dragonite is one of my favourite Pokeon so you better believe it’s now in my team. ๐ I’m hoping by the end of 2020 to have completed my Pokedex 100%. ๐
That’s about it for my monthly favourites guys! It’s not as long as it usually is, but I’m sick of waffling on about beauty products. Moving forward I will be talking about an independent store/brand I have discovered and loved throughout the month, as well as all relevant things I’d like to talk about more and share.
What have your favourites been from November?
I’m so excited for the blog posts/content I’ll be bringing throughout this month! Are you excited for it?

Until next time, take care all and stay safe. ๐
Not only can I believe we’re less than 2 weeks away from July, but I honestly cannot believe that E3 2018 has come and gone in the blink of an eye!
As we have done for the past couple of years me and Dane both watched and kept up with E3 2018 as much as we could. In all honestly I was quite disappointed with E3 this year. The majority of presentations were poor, some lacked any information on games or didn’t even show anything new, whilst others didn’t seem professional at all. We’ll talk more about this later.
Not only did we keep up with the couple of days that E3 had their conferences on, but we also kept up to date with YouTube channels such as IGN to keep up with any games that were announced outside of those conferences.
Like we did last year, we’ll take it in turns to talk about certain conferences, as well as favourite announcements this year. I don’t want to do it like we did last year and have me talk for ages and then Dane, I want it to be a mixture of us both!
As I would have said on last years post, I really hope you enjoy reading this post as much as we both enjoyed working on it together. Let’s throw ourselves into it! I’ll be the one talking majority of the time, I’ll state if Dane is chatting about anything. ๐
So EA were the ones who kick started us off for E3 2018 and whilst they did a good job, I do feel like it could have been better. I personally loved EA last year because of how much they spoke about Battlefront II, which at the time I was SO excited about! I was also pretty excited for the announcement of Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, which sounds incredibly cool and exciting! Also Unravel 2 being announced was pretty awesome and it’s a game I can see me and Dane playing in the future.
Dane – EA, what happened to you? I think the only good thing that came out of it was Unravel 2. Battlefield:V has a battle-royale mode now. It looks like a typically good Dice game, but don’t try and force shit that didn’t happen in a historical setting and act like it could’ve happened. Also fuck them for ruining Command and Conquer. I fucking hate what they did to a beloved franchise.
To me alongside Bethesda, Microsoft brought it to E3 2018 and they were both the best this year by far! There was loads of announcements during Microsoft that I got so damn excited for. The first one that comes to mind is Battletoads. I used to play this on my Nintendo SNES growing up and I have so many fond memories of playing it, so now I can’t wait for it to be out on the Xbox to play with Dane. Another game that I cannot wait to download next week when it comes out isย The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit. It’s by the same guys behind Life Is Strange AND is also in the same universe as that game. I am incredibly excited for it already!ย Forza Horizons 4 is set in the UK and although I’m not a massive player of the Forza Horizon 3, I want to play this game now so I can play in the UK in autumn. ๐ We Happy Few is a game I’d like to give a go as it really reminds me of Bioshock and I LOVE that story so damn much… Whether I do or not is another story. I think overall though my favourite game that was announced at Microsoft is definitely Tunic, who is a cute little fox with a sword… Think Zelda but in fox form. ๐ I cannot wait for it to come out to play, I just wish it was on my PlayStation 4 but meh, whatever. ๐
Dane – Microsoft killed it this year, largely due to the fact that there was a lot of shit this year (looking at you PlayStation and EA!). I think Microsoft always have a good show and always present it well, they do just struggle with exclusives and giving gamers something to really talk about. This year though, they teamed up with a lot of individual studios to showcase their games, even going as far as buying them up and incorporating them within Microsoft Studios. Definitely excited about Fallout 76 though, I like the move towards multiplayer but the no NPCs is a interesting format which we will have to wait and see. Halo: Infinite didn’t really get me excited as Halo: 5 was mediocre, just hope 343 industries can do something good after their separation from Bungie. Session was an interesting announcement, lets hope it fills the void Skate left after EA did its thing to Black Box Studios. The biggest and best hype for me though was the trailer for Cyberpunk 2077. It was actually announced several years ago and with them showing codes for Witcher 3 (with DLC) hidden in the trailer was a smart move.
Now onto my favourite conference of E3 2018, Bethesda. Oh man they just brought so much to the table this year, especially in comparrison to last year. Their conference last year bored me and was just bland. This year not only did they shock us all with Fallout 76 and what they have planned for it, but they also revealed that Elder Scrolls 6 is in the works! I remember back when Morrowind was out how me and my cousins would play it all together. Then when Oblivion came out I played it so much, on both my laptop and my PS3! Then Skyrim came out and I was so disappointed by it. My dad had bought it me for Christmas the year it came out and I was gutted. It just didn’t play like the previous two had and recently I parted ways with it and took it to GAME. Now that we have something new and fresh on the way, I’m so fucking excited! As for Fallout 76, oh man it’s hella exciting for gamers alike who have loved the Fallout games for many years. They’re bringing so many exciting things for us to do on the game, but at the same time I worry about what it could cause. Are you going to build up your game play only to have it blown up by some dickhead who got the nuclear codes? Maybe, maybe not. We shall soon find out as this game will be out before we know it! Speaking of, how fucking cool is the power armour helmet that comes out with the limited edition game?? OH and one more game I’m excited for? Doom Eternal, but only for the music. HELL NO would I play that game! xD
Dane – My God. All good things and it was well presented, Todd Howard knows how to please. Fallout 76, Elder Scrolls: Blades, some new faraway game called Starfield and Elder Scrolls 6! What I really care about is a sequel to motherfucking Doom. Doom: Eternal ’nuff said. Motherfuckers.
Now we’d talk about Square Enix but we didn’t watch it… We know they would have shown Kingdom Hearts 3, but who the hell didn’t?! I’m not arsed about the Kingdom Hearts games and have played Kingdom Hears 1.5 on my PS3 in the past. It was fun to play but I don’t know if it was for me. I’m not a huge fan of the Final Fantasy games, which are practically the same but with Disney. When it’s cheap enough in the future I’ll probably pick it up.
So onto Ubisoft! The start of their conference to me really worked and it got me excited for what was to be announced throughout. I’ve never played a Just Dance game and I didn’t really know what they were advertising with all the dancing. When Dane suggested it, I wondered how I hadn’t thought of that myself. Either way, it was really cool and I love when people do things like this! To be honest apart from this the only game I was at all interested in was Skull and Bones, which looks like so much fun! Other than that, meh I’m not arsed. Let’s put it this was, near the end of the Skull and Bones talks, I fell to sleep. ๐
Dane – Zzzzz… Oh Ubisoft are on. They’ve announced a game set in Ancient Greece, that’s surpri… wait those animations look like Assassins Creed… Wait! It is Assassins Creed! *Sigh* I know they need to do something to differentiate the games as their formula started to suck but it no longer feels like you’re an assassin. It just looks like a standard adventure game set in Greece. Division 2 was also unsurprisingly announced with a very boring fake game play showcase. I wish the Tom Clancy games would go back to realism and make a single bullet count. Why can’t they make it play like Wildlands?
I didn’t watch the PC Gaming Show, but Dane did…
Dane – A few things… I am now once again a PC gamer. I should probably do another post on that because a lot has changed. I also have VR… so yeah. Segue! Stormlands is the new full VR experience from Insomniac Games. It looks pretty sweet, like Lone Echo but open world. Cyanide and Happiness have an isometric battle royale game, that should be fun. There is a Shark game, where you’re a shark. Odd. Satisfactory a first person Factorio clone looks interesting. Something about Sega releasing some recent-ish games on PC. Star Citizen released a trailer to a game that will be too big to ever be completed. Erm. Can’t really remember much else.
Finally we are coming down to the last 2 and what were the conferences I was the most excited for, as I am every year. Sony is the first one we will be talking about. I wasn’t disappointed by what Sony showed, but by the way they showed it. Every conference before it had spoken about most of the games it showed, or at least announced release dates. Did Sony did that? Nope. I was sad that they didn’t at least talk about new games they revealed. I was excited for a couple of games that they revealed, which include The Last Of Us II, which I have been so excited for since they announced it about 2 years ago. Spider-Man is also another game I was excited for but I have mixed feelings about it at the moment… It reminds me of the first Spider-Man game that came out on PlayStation many years ago now. I played it religiously and I loved it so much! I like the look of the one and especially of the nostalgia is gives me, but meh… I need to see more. Finally we have Death Stranding, a game I’m interested in because I want to know what the hell happens! I was disappointed that we didn’t get to hear about this game. Looking at it and seeing lots more footage for it is amazing, yes. But come on guys! We want to HEAR ABOUT IT TOO!
Dane – Sony, Sony, Sony. I have never liked you. This year though only reinforces that feeling. You were so boring and didn’t show us anything of value, you have your exclusives and decent IPs but what good is that if you have a conference like that. TLOU 2 looks pretty good, too good in fact. The animation in the fight scene from the game play section was something I have never witnessed before and thinking back on it, it has to be a planned animation. It just looked too perfect. Death Stranding was the only highlight for me really, it teased so much but still leaves you with more questions. Hideo Kojima is a batshit genius and I am excited for it. Microsoft are nipping at Sony’s heels though and as much as I am glad that Sony fucked up this year I expected more from them.
Finally we are onto the last conference of E3 2018, which was BY FAR the worst out of all of them for me… Nintendo. I’m a massive Nintendo gamer, they introduced me to gaming with Tetris and Pokemon on the Game Boy, as well as Donkey Kong, Starfox and Bomberman on the SNES. Their conference was starting at 5pm on the Tuesday, which is the same time I finish work. It takes me a max of 20 minutes due to traffic to get home from work. I managed to get out on time and even got petrol on my way home. I worried I may have missed loads and regretted getting petrol, but what did I miss? SWEET FUCK ALL. All I was watching when I got in from work was Super Smash Bros. They must have spoken about this game for at least an hour and it wasn’t even stuff that was THAT INTERESTING, most of it was just extras in the game. I know I’m not a fan of this game series, but who cares?! Let people play the game and discover the extras for themselves! It was obvious that Nintendo didn’t have much new to share, so instead soaked up an hour of their 2 hour conference with bloody Smash Bros. NOW I know all of us Nintendo boys and gals are disappointed that we didn’t get an Animal Crossing game announced for the Switch, but come on… Are you really surprised?! I knew we wouldn’t get an Animal Crossing game announcement. How? Well look at the phone game. If you ask me, Nintendo have run out of ideas for the game series, which is sad to admit but it’s true. I have the camper game but it bores the crap out of me and I only really play it when I’m incredibly bored. Of course I want a Switch game, but I’m not betting on it anytime soon. Whilst I was annoyed and disappointed by Nintendo, I was also happy to see some talk about Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee, which I am SO EXCITED FOR! I’ll definitely be getting the latter, as well as the special Poke Ball controller for the Switch. It’s not the RPG that Game Freak has been telling us about, but this will sure as hell tide me over until that game comes out. I’m just so excited for this and to hear more about that made up for the bullshit of Super Smash Bros that we had to endure beforehand. The game will work alongside Pokemon Go, which I have recently started playing again. I like the thought of being able to use your phone to play the game on the go and then continue when you get home by connecting it all up with the Switch. I also love the idea of playing this game with a friend, AKA Dane. I am a huge Pokemon fan and have been for as long as I can remember. I own and buy most Pokemon related games that come out and this one won’t be an exception, which I’ll also be pre ordering as soon as I can.
Dane – Nintendo this year was basically Super Smash Bros changelog V1.02. It was incredibly boring listening to the most minute detail they were adding to the next game. I don’t give a shit about that, just say we have added these characters and read this to find out more then move onto the next thing. The mini Pokemon games were the only thing of interest which had a small trailer and that was it, Nintendo were always the ones thinking out of the box and doing things for fun. This time it was just a waste of time.
So now we’ve spoken (and probably bored you all!) about the conferences, it’s time for me to briefly talk about some of my favourites that were announced outside of the conferences!
Spyro Reignited Trilogy – Out on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 21st September 2018.
One of my fondest memories of the six weeks holidays one year was playing this game day after day with my cousins and taking it in turns to beat the levels and bosses of Spyro 2! I then went on to play Spyro 3 on my own and nearly completing it 100% before my game file got corrupted and broke! I’ve since then played it fully again and completed it fully twice, once on my PS3 and once on my PS4! You get that I love Spyro, right?! ๐ I just cannot wait for this to come out in September to be perfectly honest with you and I was so excited when I discovered game play of the game. It’s lovely to see a refreshing look at Spyro, as well as hearing Tom Kenny voicing Spyro. He voiced him in both Spyro 2 and 3 and you’ll know him as being the voice behind Spongebob and Ice King.
Tunic – Out on Xbox One and Windows release Date TBC.
I know I mentioned this game when talking about Microsoft but I just had to show it here! I remember them talking about it last year at E3 and I fell in love, so I’m so happy they showed him again! It shows they haven’t forgotten about this little cutie and I don’t think many of us gamers have either. I cannot wait to hear more about this game and I’m keeping fingers crossed it’ll be out before the end of 2018.
Dead or Alive 6 – Out on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 early 2019.
Now if there is a game series like Pokemon that I have been behind and loved since day one, it’s the Dead or Alive games! I love them so much and I laugh so much at the bouncing boobies, like we all do! I just enjoy them and they’re some of the first fighting games I really could get into and play. I also love the stories of some of the characters, especially Ayana, Tina Armstrong, Helena Douglas and definitely Kasumi. The game play itself is the best to date and we are definitely in much need of a new DoA game after 7 years! I cannot wait for it.
Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight – Out on PlayStation 4 and PS Vita early 2019.
ย If there was one game I was hoping to see at E3 2018 it was this one! As regular readers of my blog will know, I love Persona 5 so much, so when I heard they were bringing this out I was super excited! I already have the dance game for Persona 4 and I really enjoy playing it, so God help me when this comes out! I am tied between getting it for my PS4 and my PS Vita but I think it’ll have to be my console to be honest with you, just so I can get it to go with the main game. This is a game I will be pre ordering closer to the time!
Pokeball Plus – Out for Nintendo Switch on 16th November 2018.
I didn’t really touch upon this above but I will briefly here. The Pokeball Plus wasn’t really something I was sure if I wanted, until E3! Not only will this Pokeball be limited edition (according to workers in GAME anyway…) but it will also contain Mew, the hardest Pokemon to gain in the original Pokemon series! A lot of people have stated online how their favourite part of E3 2018 was how Mew talks to Reggie during this talk. ๐
Pokemon: Let’s Go Pikachu and Pokemon: Let’s Go Eevee – Out on Nintendo Switch 16th November 2018.
Last but certainly not least we have what is probably one of my favourites from E3 2018 and I’m not going to talk much about it because I’ve pretty much done all of that earlier when talking about Nintendo. I just thought it would be rude not to share the YouTube video on here. ๐
So that is our his and hers post about E3 2018 and our highlights, as well as us bitching and moaning. ๐
In all honesty I don’t know if I speak for both me and Dane when I say this but this is by far the worst E3 I have watched to date and I don’t know why. It just lacked so much overall and it was disappointing because of it. I know I’m not the only one who feels this way too and it is such a shame. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVED watching E3 2018 but at the same time I felt like I wasted my time at points whilst watching it. E3 2017 just had so much more going for it. There was also some technical fuck ups that me and Dane noticed at times too during conferences, which isn’t the end of the world but it’s not exactly great, is it?!
Overall though I am so happy to see some games I’ve been hyped about the past year or two and especially happy to see them all get release dates and times!
What games did you love seeing at E3 this year? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.
I hope you’re all well and had an amazing weekend, but until next time take care!
Woohoo we are well into June now and I can only put the month going by so quickly down to the house! Me and Dane have been really hard at work with the house, which sadly means my blog has been rather neglected latelyโฆ I do apologise for that, but I hope my regular readers will understand my reasons why.
However I have just started back at work, so whilst a part of me doesnโt have ANY time now (because of still working on the house) I do have a more time on my hands to get a couple of posts written and scheduled a couple of days a week.
So I thought I would do a not home related post, and instead do a currently one instead, as I havenโt done one for a while.
Watching โ I havenโt really had much time to watch a whole lot due to the house, but at times I have managed to catch up on my Netflix and 4OD in the mornings and evenings.
Iโve found myself watching a lot of Only Fools and Horses, which has surprised me to say the least. I do really enjoy the show, but sadly Netflix only has two series on, and a series with all the specials. I want all the series damn you! I was contemplating buying all the series on DVD to just binge watch when we move into the houseโฆ But we shall see.
Iโve also been watching a lot of 24 Hours in Police Custody, as I hadnโt realised there was a new series out until my friend Gabriella told me about one episode she had watched. I love TV shows like this, and seeing bad people go daaaawn (down).
A new TV series Iโve been watched recently is The Preacher, which I think is exclusive to Amazon Prime. Itโs based off a comic book, and let me tell you it is amazing! Dane told me about it due to Joseph Gilgun playing a main role and thought I might want to watch it. I love Joseph Gilgun, heโs such a talented actor, and definitely one of my favourites. If you arenโt sure who he is, he plays Woody in This Is England, and Rudy in Misfits. Heโs really funny in The Preacher as he plays a vampire. I would recommend it to everyone to check out. Itโs basically about a preacherโฆ What more can I say?
Reading โ Iโm naughtyโฆ I havenโt really been reading because Iโve not had any time TO read anything. The only thing Iโve really been reading lately are home magazines (can you tell Iโve just bought my first home? Itโs so bloody obvious!) just to gain some ideas for the house, both decorating and interior design related. Iโm currently flicking through the latest edition of Style at Home which is my favourite one to pick up. Itโs cheap at ยฃ1.99 and there are loads of great ideas in there from both the writers of the magazine, to average people like you and me, which is what I like about it the most. I think itโs a great magazine to pick up for new home owners like myself, or even if youโre renting and want to get some ideas of how to spruce your place up a bit.
Listening โ At this moment in time Iโm listening to Nirvanaโs first album Nevermind, and it is pretty much all I have listened to the past fortnight. Oh dearโฆ I am obsessed with it to say the least and have especially been playing it whilst decorating the house. Donโt know if Dane or my dad approved, but it is tough! I have always liked Nirvana since a young age when my brother first showed me some of their songs, but I never really listened to their albums until recently. Why? I honestly donโt know! Iโm terrible when it comes to music, I listen to bands who no longer exist, or donโt make any more music. I never listen to newer bands. I think itโs because all the newer music is so shockingly shit these days. I donโt knowโฆ
As well as Nirvana, Iโve also been listening to a lot of Nightcore. I really wish I wasnโt, because itโs not like I can pay to buy an album. All of their music is on YouTube, which is a pain to download! Iโll admit when Iโm moved into the house and settled, Iโll be downloading enough Nightcore songs to make at last two albums, if not three! I find it the most relaxing music to listen to whilst traveling to work, as well as when Iโm in work on my break.
Eating โ Iโve had chip shop so much whilst me and Dane have been decorating the house. I also forgot how gross Pot Noodle are, I only ate one and decided that one was enough! Iโve also discovered that Tesco sandwiches are amazing, and having a Tesco Express down the road from my house is lethal. So yeah, thatโs mostly what food me and Dane have been living off of the past couple of works whilst weโve been working on the house. I am craving some proper home cooked food.
Wearing โ I have legit lived in my old skinny jeans, Fuerteventura hippy pants, old baggy tops, and my Evanescence hoodie for the past two weeks. I mean, what is the point in dressing up when all Iโve going to be doing is painting the house, and probably getting more on me than on the walls? Okay that last part was a joke. But anyway!
I actually forgot how much I loved my Evanescence hoodie until I got it out of the back of my wardrobe recently. I bought it at the first gig of theirs I went to back in 2011 and I remember only paying ยฃ5.00 for it because the guy selling them wanted to get rid of them before the end of the night. I ended up buying an XL, which I quickly regretted as at the time I was into wearing all my skinny fit clothing. However Iโm not back to wearing baggy clothing and this suits me down to the ground. Iโll probably wear it loads for work now, alongside my new raincoat, which I will be talking about very soon!.

Wanting โ The one thing I REALLY want right now is for my house to be done, so that me and Dane can move in. At this moment in time weโre probably halfway to finishing it. Currently the living room is done, and the kitchen will be in just a few days. Me and my dad plan to get the bedrooms done in the next couple of days as well. I guess it just sucks with me being back at work in just a few days too. Weโre saying end of June, start of July weโll be moved in!
I also want to win the lottery so I can pay off the mortgage, and go on a massive IKEA shop and not cry at the bill afterwards. Other than that I actually donโt want much, if anything just stuff to do with my house.
So that was my currently list for May/June, although mostly June to be honest due to the whole house palaver. Again I apologise for being quiet on my blog lately, the house has taken up a lot of my time, and sadly my house is more important. Itโll all be worth it though in the end!
I guess I just want to say thank you to my readers for sticking around with me, and even hello to some new ones! Iโll be back to my usual schedule very soon.
What is on your currently list? Make sure to let me know in the comments.
Until next time, take care all and have a lovely weekend!
I mentioned on my blog post yesterday that I made my boyfriend Dane a birthday cake, and of course due to his huge man love for Deadpool, I knew I had to make him a cake themed on his favourite mercenary. It wasn’t as hard as I thought it was going to be, and I had some help along the way from some awesome YouTuber’s.
I didn’t make this cake myself technically, and give credit to SORTEDfood,ย CupcakeJemma, and Christy’s Sweet Treats for making such awesome videos for me to watch and have guide me in making and awesome cake for Dane. ๐
I’m not going to go through the whole process of how I made the cake, as it wasn’t my recipe to show to you in the first place. I will show off some pictures though that Dane took as I made it, as well as showing you the YouTube videos I found that helped me make this cake happen.
The cake recipe I decided to use was the Epic Chocolate Cake recipe by the SORTEDfood guys! This cake just looked too good not to do myself and let me tell you, this cake tasted delicious as well. It’s a really easy cake to make from scratch to be honest, and even though I had my KitchenAid to help me with mixing, even with a hand whisk it would have been okay as well.
Picture set one is go!
Mixing some of the cake mix together.
Cake tins ready!
Mmm chocolatey!
Putting the mix into the pans.
Cooking in the oven.
WOOHOO ALL COOKED! Cooling time whilst I made the buttercream.
For the buttercream I followed Jemma’s recipe over at Jamie Oliver’s YouTube channel.
For the buttercream I did two different types, chocolate (inside the cake and around the cake as a base, and for the black Deadpool design), and vanilla (for the red and white on the Deadpool design). To be honest, the chocolate one was the best, the vanilla being a little bit sickly to be honest. I wouldn’t do the vanilla again to be honest, and instead just keep it as pure chocolate cake!
It is SUCH AN EASY way to make buttercream icing, and by far the yummiest I have ever tasted, if I do say so myself. Of course I did this twice, one for chocolate, and one for vanilla.
Picture set two is go!
Making the vanilla buttercream first.
Alllll done!
Chocolate buttercream next.
Alllll done! This was delicious. ๐
Finally the video that gave me the idea to make this cake in the first place was Christy’s Deadpool Buttercream Cake video.
She made it look really easy to do, and I constantly worried I would mess up the design on the cake and end up a crying mess on the floor. But alas, I was fine! I had never piped before this, so I am extremely proud of myself that I did just that as well as I did.
Finally picture set three is gooooo!
Getting ready to cover in chocolate buttercream after sandwiching the two halves together with chocolate buttercream.
All done and popped into the fridge for 10 minutes to set before doing the Deadpool design.
Chocolate buttercream dyed black with food colouring paste.
Dying the vanilla buttercream red with food colouring paste.
Deadpool’s eyes done, and the rest of the pattern etched on ready for piping the design on.
Piping the black buttercream on!
All done!
Decided to use the rest of the black buttercream to pipe around the edge of the cake. I didn’t have enough to do the whole thing…
Piping on the red buttercream.
Deadpool’s face allllll done! Just the side to finish now.
Finally after so long it was finished!
My mug with my creation! ๐
Overall the cake took 3 hours to make… Which is a long time but to be honest it was so worth it! We kept it in the fridge for majority of the time to keep it fresh, but we soon discovered that you should really take it out to warm up the buttercream a little so you can cut it easier…
Dane loved his birthday cake, which I’m really happy about, and to be honest I really loved making it. I doubt I’ll make another one again anytime soon, but alas at least I know that I am capable of doing so again in the future.
I do apologise for all the pictures on the post, but they were kinda necessary weren’t they? ๐
Are you a chocolate cake and Deadpool fan? Would you give this cake a go? If you’re not a Deadpool fan what other design would you have a go at? Make sure to let me know all your opinions down in the comments down below!
Until next time, have a lovely day all and I hope you all have a great week too.
I’ve kinda been updating you on my life recently due to so much happening what with Christmas, New Year, and my birthday, but I wanted to do a currently post so I could update you all properly on how things have been recently, aside from busy with all the holidays mentioned above!
I’ve been excited to do another currently list for ages! So here is currently number four.
Watching: I have been watching all sorts recently. Mostly a mixture of Mrs. Brown’s Boys, and Making a Murderer, but come on, who isn’t watching that? I do really like Making a Murderer but at the same time it frustrates me so much to watch, that I have to take breaks from it just to think about what the hell is going on! My boyfriend got me to watch the first episode on my birthday, and I was pleasantly surprised to see what it was about. I hate jumping on the bandwagon to be honest, but I’m glad I did as it is a very interesting documentary. I need to finish it mind… Might do that today. I got Mrs. Brown’s Boys as a reward from my old job for doing so well in my customer service and such. That will be one perk of my old job that I’ll miss, the rewards you would get! I really like Mrs. Brown’s Boys, it’s hilarious and the Irish humour is spot on. The movie isn’t that great however… My dad also loves this so we’ll be watching it together soon I hope. There are a couple of clips I love from this show, and I couldn’t pick one so I’ve added two above for you to watch, and a crappy one because I can’t find said clip anywhere online!
Playing:ย As I am yet to write about, I bought a PlayStation 4 after Christmas and I am so happy that I did! With that I have been playing plenty of games on there. The one I’ve been playing the most (and actually 100% completed last night) isย Life is Strange.ย I’ve played it before, but I bought it for my PS4 to get the trophies, as well as remind myself what happened in the story. I loved it, and I’m sure I’ll play it again at some point in the future. As well as that I’ve been playingย Little Big Planet 3ย with my boyfriend, which has been loads of fun! We played it loads on my birthday and it was nice, really nice. I can’t wait for him to get back from holiday so we can play it again soon. Until Dawn is another game I’ve played a little of, and I intend to play more after I’ve written this blog post as I really crave playing it right now! As well as tonight when I get home from pole dance fitness.
Listening: I’m pretty damn bored with my music at the moment. Like REALLY bored. I haven’t had something come up on the shuffle playlist that’s made me think, “Damn I haven’t listened to that artist for a while!” and put them on later, or the next day. I’ve been looking around YouTube for some new artists to check out, and Nightcore is one I have gladly discovered. They take songs and speed them up a little to make them sound sort of chipmunk like, sort of reminds me of Japanese music for some reason… Which is why I like it! I have been listening to a couple of the songs, and I intend to download some soon for my car. The second video I have linked I listened to for the first time today and it made me cry, as it made me think of how I feel about my boyfriend. So it’s officially my song for him. ๐ Cheesy? Yes. Fucks given? Zero!
Eating: CRAP! Honestly I haven’t been eating that great at the moment. Not even in the sense of I’ve been eating rubbish like junk, but I’ve hardly been eating lately and it isn’t for bad reasons either. I just haven’t really had the energy to. I’ll eat little tid bits and that’s it. I cooked myself something though a few nights ago and it was lovely. I do want to start eating healthy again, like I was when I was dieting, but I don’t want to at the same time. I like having my treats. I have however been drinking lots of tea, and I don’t know why. I blame it being cold and not wanting to drink coffee all the time.
Wearing: I got some new PJs for Christmas (which you can see here) so I’ve been wearing them loads since receiving them! As well as that I have been notoriously wearing my 101 Dalmatians Vans (read about those here) as they are hella comfortable! I can’t wait to rock them more in the summer, as I think my shoes for winter will have to start being my Jake Dr Martens (can read about those here), as I’ve been neglecting them a little lately.
Wanting: SLEEP! Lots of bloody sleep at that! I am constantly tired at the moment, and I don’t know why. On my days off work I plan to have a lie in, and I never have one. On days where I start work late I usually end up having my lie in then. I like waking up early to get things done… But I do love my sleep. As well as that I am lusting after Black Milk Clothing leggings, the fox ones… Which I have mentioned time and time again. I am still after them… YES! I am going to see about ordering them with my birthday money when my boyfriend comes back from holiday, but I’m not sure yet. They are a lot of money. Sadly. As well as that I am lusting after the new MAC Cosmetics Retro Matte Liquid Lipsticks, especially shade Oh Lady… WHICH IS SOLD OUT EVERYWHERE! Soon… Soon.
Other than all those things I’ve been pretty chilled at the moment. I’m trying to sort my blog over the next month so that it can be better this year than ever before! I have recently changed my profile picture on the right (as I’m sure you can see) and I intend to do some more changes soon.
What are your currents at the moment? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!
This is a nerdy post today, and one I have been so excited to write too! These only arrived yesterday morning, but due to being away from home, I only got the chance a few hours ago to open these. Yes, this haul may be a bit quick to talk about, but it’s totally worth it.
Japan Loot is a website set up by the YouTuber Japanese Toy Collector who after reviewing certain toys from Japan, will put them up on the website to sell to people. How awesome is that? Of course when he reviewed some Eeveelution plushies, I knew I had to pick up the Eevee one, and I still love it to this day. Something I noticed about this seller, is how cheap he was selling certain items for in comparison to some websites and stores out there.
When he made a video about one of the items from the Eievui Collection, I just had to drop him an email and ask if he would be able to get anymore and sell those to me. Of course, he did and here I have a few little bits that I asked him to grab for me!
I only asked for three things, although I could have asked for a hell of aย lot more! I do have my eye on the cute little plushies, but I’ll be good. I don’t need them… ๐
My package arrived in less than a week, which is amazing considering where it traveled from! I was delighted when I opened it to find this yellow bag, an official Pokemon Center bag! I’m going to make sure to cherish this until I can one day go to the store myself.
The three things I picked up was an iPhone 6 cover which as you can see is covered in all the Eeveelutions, a Vaporeon mobile phone strap, and a blind bag t-shirt. As I said previously, I do wish I had bought more!
In August I’ll be able to pick up a new phone, and of course I’ll be opting for the iPhone 6. I’ve had so many problems with my iPhone 5 that I just want a new phone now, that is MINE and not a refurbished one. So I decided I would treat myself to a case, one I know I’ll use loads and love just as much. I’ve been after a phone case that stands out for ages and in so many ways, this one will turn heads. Especially heads of Pokemon nerds like myself. Although it says it’s a soft case, it’s pretty durable and will keep your phone safe as well as looking cute! I really can’t wait to get an iPhone 6 now so I can put this on it. I mean, look how cute the different Eeveelutions are on it. As you can see all of them are separated, but at times are all together too, and have been paired together depending on what gen they’re from. It’s just an awesome pattern and is all over the collections print.
I have always wanted one of the mobile phone ear jack straps from the Pokemon Center, but until now I have never taken the plunge to pick one up. However, I couldn’t resist this cute little Vaporeon (probably my favourite Eeveelution!) This little guy is adorable and is also tiny! That doesn’t bother me though. The way these straps work is you plug it into your phone (or any other device such as 3Ds, or tablet) and it’ll dangle and be a little companion for your phone. BUT you can also use this as a little keyring for your keys, or as a little charm for your bag. I will probably use this on my phone but due to the possibilities this has, I may also pop it onto my car keys. I have a little Levi (from Attack on Titan) keyring on there so he could do with a friend. ๐ I don’t have pictures of it because I only noticed it when I opened the packaging, but you see the card behind the strap? The other side of that has such a cute picture of Vaporeon on it!
Finally we have the purchase I was most excited about! The blind bag t-shirts. These sold out super quickly in the Pokemon Center’s and it took the seller a couple of visits to finally pick one up for me. Due to how rare these are, sellers are charging people through the teeth for these, which is just greedy! I was pretty lucky that I got mine for a decent price! Due to these being blind bagged, you don’t know which one you’ll get. I did have a few in mind that I was hoping to get. Either Eevee, Vaporeon, Flareon, Umbreon, or Sylveon. But this being said, I would have been happy with any! These t-shirts also come in a free size, which in Japan is a size L, probably a M male, L female in the UK. The t-shirt fits me really nicely and I’m so relieved, as I did worry it would be too small.
So I’m sure you’re all curious which one I got?
I GOT FLAREON! I’m really pleased with this for various reasons. Flareon is awesome, and I love wearing the colour red. I say it’s red, it’s more of an orange red, which is still awesome! One thing I noticed about this t-shirt when I tried it on was how it smelt. It smells like green tea matcha powder, which I love! I don’t know if this is intentional and even if it isn’t, it’s still awesome.
I’m so pleased with this t-shirt. It’s made of 100% cotton and the quality of it is amazing for how much they were selling for in Japan. I really want to buy another and depending how much I spend in London, will depend if I pick another up or not.
I’m going to be wearing this for Hyper Japan with my ripped skinny fits. I can’t wait!
So that was my haul from Japan. I want to thank the seller over at Japan Loot for grabbing these awesome items for me, I’m so happy with them and especially happy with how quick they arrived. He’s an awesome seller and I recommend you check his store and YouTube channel out. The links are at the start of the post.
Are you a Pokemon nerd like me? Have you ever wanted anything from the Pokemon Center? If so, make sure to let me know in the comments!
I’ve been so excited to write this post, and I hope my readers will enjoy it too.
