Happy Easter everyone! I hope you’ve all had an amazing bank holiday weekend so far. Me and Dane have been really lazy to be honest with you and spend most of the days relaxing together, playing games and eating the chocolate Mini Eggs and M&M Eggs we treated ourselves to.

I cooked my first Easter Sunday roast yesterday which went really well and Friday I went out with the Coventry Bloggers for a cocktail and networking event. I’ll be talking about this on my blog at some point this week. It was a fabulous evening and a great way to start the Easter bank holiday, so I can’t wait to share. πŸ™‚

Speaking of Coventry Bloggers, this post brings some exciting and amazing news! As the title hasn’t already given away, the Coventry Bloggers now have a website! WOOHOO! P.S. At the bottom of this post is the chance to win some goodies from Coventry Bloggers… πŸ˜›

When Emily (over at The Emily Chapters) mentioned to me that she was thinking about launching a website for Coventry Bloggers, as well as blog I supported her 100% with it! I thought it would be such a great idea for a place that people who want to view Coventry Bloggers outside of our Facebook group could do so.

It was when Emily asked myself and others if we wanted to be writers for the website that I began to get really excited for the project she was working on. Apart from my blog (and maybe the odd collaboration posts for other bloggers) I’ve never really written anywhere else. Well, I tell a lie! As a student I used to write posts for a newsletter I set up through a forum I was on for years, as well as for newsletters online and in paper form for my local area.

I wrote my first post a few weeks ago during a lunch break and loved the idea behind it. I’ll be writing monthly for Coventry Bloggers moving forward with the majority of my work on there being aimed and based around Coventry.

My first post is about 5 places I like to go to for food and drink when I’m in Coventry. I do love eating in Coventry as I find places aren’t only in close proximity within the town centre, but I’ve not found anything like it in Birmingham yet, in some aspects.

I’ll link the post here so you can go and read it for yourselves. πŸ™‚

Alongside myself there are 7 other writers for Coventry Bloggers, who I’ll share down below – alongside with their first posts for the website! You can also find out more about everyone here.

Emily –Β The Emily ChaptersThe newest addition to your Coventry focused reading list!

Kayleigh – Hazelnut MusingsMOD Pizza Opens In Coventry

Dawn – Life of a MidlanderJoining up with Coventry Bloggers

Ella – Ella MayburyA little intro to all things ELLA!

Regan – Dusky Blue SkiesWhy I love Igers Coventry & Warwickshire, and you should too!

Rose – Ruva – (To be added)

Gemma – Just Gem – (To be added)

So yeah there we have it! Coventry Bloggers now has a website, as well as a blog. If 2019 has taught me something so far it’s how much I love blogging, as well as what a great bunch of friends I’ve made through it.

If you’ve read through the post, you’ll know I mentioned that there was a competition being hosted by Coventry Bloggers! It’s over on Instagram and I’ve posted a photo of it down below so you can check it out, here if the link straight to the post on Instagram too. There was loads of amazing prizes to be won!

Coventry Bloggers make me so happy to be honest with you and even though all the events (and personal issues) burnt me out last month, they were totally worth it! Here’s to the Coventry Bloggers website and all the exciting things it has to bring for everyone. ^_^

Will you guys be going over to the website for a read of all the gorgeous girls and their blog posts there? Let me know in the comments. πŸ™‚

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re enjoying the last day of the Easter bank holiday! πŸ˜€

MOD Pizza Coventry – Review*

A couple of weeks ago I was invited alongside loads of the Coventry Bloggers to another new restaurant addition to the Cathedral Lanes in Coventry, this being the new MOD Pizza!

I felt so lucky to be invited to the press night, especially with some of my favourite blogger gals. I’d had a pretty shit day at work prior to this event and actually felt really down in the dumps, so much so I almost cancelled going to this event. I’m so glad I didn’t however, as I had such an amazing time and I discovered a great new place to eat in Coventry!

*Of course due to the fact I was invited to the press night, all my food and drink was gifted to me for reviewing purposes. This being said 100% of what I’m writing about are entirely my own opinions.

MOD Pizza is actually an American company that has started to gradually make it’s way over to the UK.

I didn’t quite know what to expect though for the evening at MOD Pizza and for some reason in my head I thought we were having a masterclass on making our own pizzas, but how wrong I was. It wasn’t as messy as I originally thought it was going to be and in some aspect we were going to be making our own pizzas…

If there is one thing I loved about MOD Pizza the most it’s just how creative you can get with your pizza, without the price of your pizza making your bank account cry.

The concept of MOD Pizza is that you can create your own pizza for a set price and have as many (or as little) options on your pizza as possible, which I think is amazing. This being said you don’t have to make your own pizza. You can of course choose from the menu of pizzas they have on offer. Personally though none of them took my fancy so I went for the create your own option.

I obviously can’t speak for if you pick a pizza from the menu (as I didn’t do this) but if you create your own you make your way around the counter at all the different sections and add as many or as little to your pizza! When you approach the counter to order the staff will take your name to add to a brown baking parchment, which they use as to log your order down on as they make it.

Before you really get your creative thoughts going for which pizza you would like to order and create, you’re asked if you would like any starters, sides etc. Kayleigh (Hazelnut Musings) was telling me how she wasn’t sure which side to order so I suggested she order one thing and I order the other and we could share.Β  Me and Dane do this all the time when we go out for food so that we can try as much as we can! So I went for the MOD crinkle wedges and Kayleigh went for the cheesy garlic strips.

There are so many options available for starters, sides and even desserts!

First of all you pick your base which come in three different options – MINI (Β£4.97), MOD (Β£7.97) and MEGA (Β£9.79). I went for MEGA as I eyed up Amy’s (Writing into the Ether) pizza base and it looks really good! That and I’m not a fan of thin pizza bases, go big or go home… You know what I mean? πŸ˜› In regards to bases you can of course go for a gluten free option but let me just warn you this does cost an extra Β£2.

The next stage is to add your sauces and cheese. Like the base you can of course choose to have vegan options with their dairy free cheese.

There’s loads of options for both the sauces and cheese but I was boring and went for the normal red sauce (tomato) and mozzarella. For sauces you can choose – red, BBQ, garlic rub, pesto and white. Cheese you get the options of – mozzarella, asiago, blue, feta, Parmesan and dairy free.

The girl who was looking after us at the dairy section was so lovely and fun as she made the cheese “rain” for us! I regret not doing a boomerang video of it over on my Instagram stories (you can find my Instagram account here) but I took photos which is just as good!

After you’ve seen your cheese rain (hahaha cheesey joke :P) you go onto adding your meats if you want them. I didn’t feel like there were any Quorn style meats that vegetarians and vegans could add, but I tell you what, there was so much choice! The fact you could have them all if you wanted really blew my mind. I didn’t do this however and ended up opting for chicken, bacon, ham and chorizo.

The meat selection is really good and there are even a couple ofΒ halal options on there – bacon,Β grilled chicken,Β ground beef, ham, mild sausage, pepperoni, salami, spicy sausage, anchovies, chorizo and spicy beef.

Then finally you have the last sections of the counter where you can choose any greens, veggies, herbs and more. I didn’t really bother much with this section (being the unhealthy person that I am!) and just opted for some roasted sweetcorn on my pizza. I feel like people who like this choice on pizza get judged for it… Is it just me? I bloody love sweetcorn on pizza haha!

The options here are huge though and range from all sorts including – rocket, romaine, spinach, artichokes, black olives, chickpeas, green peppers, jalapeΓ±os, mushrooms, pineapple, red onion, roasted red peppers, roasted sweetcorn, spicy red peppers, sun-dried tomatoes, tomatoes, chilli flakes, chopped basil, coriander, garlic and rosemary.

Like that wasn’t enough you can finally add some sauces and/or salad dressings to your pizza too. I wish I’d don’t this now but at the same time I’m glad I didn’t.

You can choose from –Β balsamic fig glaze, bbq swirl, hot buffalo sauce, pesto drizzle, ranch (garlic dip), red sauce dollops, sri-rancha, pesto sri-rancha, pesto ranch, hot honey,Β balsamic, caesar, honey mustard, italian, olive oil & vinegar and ranch.

Finally your pizza is created and is put into the oven to cook whilst you order a drink and take a seat. I opted for a milkshake and went for the Biscoff shake, which was amazing! I don’t want to compare this flavoured shake to anywhere else but bloody hell it was good. It was really thick and I actually had to stop myself from drinking it before my food arrived. This being said, I think from having this milkshake it stopped me from eating most of my pizza… Not that that was a massive issue. πŸ˜›

You’re given a buzzer which vibrates when your food is ready! I liked having a bit of time to chat with my girls, as well as take in all the gorgeous decor of the MOD Pizza in Coventry.

From what I’ve seen/read online all the MOD Pizza restaurants have a different and unique theme, with Coventry having the “You Be You” theme and style, which I loved so much! They had some postcard with this on, which I took home with me, alongside some MOD stickers. πŸ˜›

One by one everyone’s pizzas slowly started turning up, including my own. This is by far one of the best, if not THE best pizza I’ve ever had and I loved it so much.

The pizza itself was just so fresh tasting, with all of the toppings I picked for it working together to create a perfect pizza for me. The best bit about this pizza for me however was how dry the base was, no grease in sight! Something that I absolutely hate about takeaway pizza or having pizza out. I feel like if you want a good pizza you usually have some greasy around but nope, none of that here! The base was also really crispy and the crust was just perfect for me. It didn’t seem burnt just that perfect crunch as you bite into it.

As I mentioned before I ordered wedges as my side, whilst Kayleigh ordered the garlic bread. The wedges were seasoned so lovely and were so moreish to eat. The garlic bread was really good and had fresh garlic on it, which was surprisingly nice! I’ve eaten raw garlic in the past and I hated it, so was pleasantly surprised by this. I feel like it was Emily (The Emily Chapters) who had loads of wedges left over and donated them to our table. I was loving life! πŸ˜›

One thing that did annoy me though was how one of the girls was waiting ages for her pizza to arrive. Even though staff were quick to amend this issue when it was raised, the amount of times they came over to the table to ask how we were etc – you think they would have noticed one of us didn’t have side, let alone her pizza! When I worked in both a coffee shop and a bar if I noticed one person didn’t have food out of the group or at least an empty plate I always sensed something was up.

I understand they were busy though and I liked that they were honest about what had happened with her pizza, along with getting her a new one out quickly so fair play to MOD Pizza for that. πŸ™‚

As I mentioned somewhere, I couldn’t actually finish my pizza and only managed to eat under half of it, so when Dane picked me up from the train station near our house, he decided to have a cheeky slice and commented how lovely it was. He agreed with myself in regards to how it was none greasy and fresh in comparison to some takeaway pizza places out there.

Overall, I LOVED MOD Pizza and I’m already craving to go again soon either on a date night with Dane, a double date night or even just a good place to go for lunch whist shopping with my friend Sophie.

This is such a great addition for Coventry, especially as student life seems to be growing there lately. I feel for students this is an affordable place to go after a heavy night of drinking on a budget friendly hangover cure.

I know I’m talking about the Coventry MOD Pizza but I also wanted to share where else MOD Pizza is at throughout the UK:

Coventry SS19 Fashion & Beauty Press Day

Almost a month ago I got the chance to go to the SS19 Fashion & Beauty Press Day in Coventry and it was so much fun! I’d booked the day of work especially for the event, which in turn was also the day I found out I’d been offered my new job! Definitely a day for celebrating!

The event was organised by Coventry Bid, who partnered up with Emily who runs Coventry Bloggers (and also her blog The Emily Chapters).

Me and Amy (Writing into the Ether) decided to meet up before the event to go for something to eat and then head to the event together. It was a lovely early afternoon eating Japanese food together and talking about all sorts, from her weekend down in Brighton, to working together on blog posts.

We ventured over to the event and it was much bigger than I thought it was going to be! I’ve only attended one fashion style event before, which in turn was the first blog event I ever went to and by far one of the worst! We won’t go into that though now… πŸ˜›

The event was held in The Old Grammar School, a gorgeous church like building that was the perfect location for this event and as you walked in the main section was filled with various high street fashion retailers, some recognisable and some not.

As well as fashion there was a small beauty section located in one of the rooms, which was great but to be honest too small for how many people were at the event. This being said it was amazing for networking! I saw some old and new faces and spoke to loads of bloggers, which was lovely.

We were given a drink upon arrival and after a little introduction to the evening and what it entailed, we were let free to venture around and look at all the clothes coming out for spring and summer 2019!

There were various people there including Milk Vintage Clothing, Marks & Spencer, Topshop, Yours Clothing, Debenhams and more.

I was really disappointed that I never got to have a look at Topshop and what they had on offer. They left early due to a launch/sale the next day. I did go over to the stand to look at what was on offer, but everyone was swarming the area so I couldn’t really get a chance to look, which was a shame.

I have to be honest and say my two favourite stands were Marks & Spencer and Yours Clothing. Now I’m not a plus size lady but I LOVED all the styles that Yours Clothing had on offer for plus size ladies. It’s great that they make fashionable pieces that are up to date with the catwalks but they don’t charge loads for pieces because “they have to use extra fabric”. This is an excuse that most stores out there use and it pisses me off. It’s just bogus and I don’t agree with it at all.

Marks & Spencer were amazing and they were by far my favourite. I actually used to work there for a couple of years and I was always so frustrated at the clothes range and how they’re aimed at older women. They’ve taken a lot on inspiration from massive brands, the one that stands out the most being Chanel. They had some gorgeous pieces that really stood out alongside the other stands in my opinion.

They had a mannequin that was dressed perfect for the office, or an evening out with friends or a partner. They also had a gorgeous tea dress that would be lovely to wear during the later spring months when the weather is starting to get warmer, as well as summer when the weather is gorgeous and an evening in a beer garden is a must!

The piece I loved the most on their stand is their leather slingback shoes which shout Chanel! They had the nude pair on show and I would love to pick them up for work now. They’d look perfect with the tea dress I mentioned and a nice black or navy blazer.

Finally another stand that kept drawing me back to it time and time again was Milk Vintage Coventry. When I was in my early 20’s I was obsessed with vintage clothes and was always down at Cow Vintage in Digbeth. These days that isn’t so much the case, but I do rather like to flick through vintage finds as and when I get the chance to.

I loved the variety of vintage pieces they had on show, but I particularly loved a tartan skirt they had on show! I love wearing tartan trousers (in various colours… Not just the standard red!) which I thought this was when I first saw it. Everyone was commenting on this piece though and I think if these had been on sale at the event, it would have been snapped up straight away! A geeky black tee or a band shirt and some Vans trainers or Converse would look amazing with this in the summer!

Me and Amy ended up going our seperate ways on and off during the event but I walked around with Gemma (Just Gem) who is such a sweetie! I love her so much and she always makes me giggle when I’m in her company. πŸ™‚

However before I lost Amy, we had a good nose around the beauty section and I watched Amy get her makeup down by the gorgeous girls at Benefit. She looks beautiful in the photos I took of her! πŸ˜€

I would have had my makeup done by Benefit, but as my readers know, I’m not a makeup wearer. They made all the girls look stunning (even though they did previously!) and gave them a bit of colour with their Cheekleaders Mini Bronze and Mini Pink palettes!

Me and Gemma ventured over to the Clarins section of the room, where they were talking about some of their new skincare, which we also got to take home samples of! I still need to give them a go, I’m really excited for them. πŸ˜›

Sadly I can’t remember names, but the woman at Clarins was so thorough about everything and the even tried both of the products on the back of mine and Gemma’s hands.

We got to try the Re-Boost day cream and the Re-Charge sleep mask. They both feel really refreshing and hydrating on the skin and as I said previously, I’ve got some samples to try but as of yet I haven’t give them a go. I will do very soon though and when I do if they feel lovely on the skin I might treat myself to one of them. πŸ™‚

I wanted to get my nails painted as well but it was so busy I just left it in the end, but Amy and Emily (Coventry Life) got their nails done and they looked gorgeous! πŸ˜€ They both went for a raspberry pink colour.

We all sort of gathered together as we waited for Amy to get her nails painted and then ventured over to the last beauty stand, which was Dior. This area was incredibly busy and me and Gemma never got the chance to ask what they were talking about and showcasing at the event. However, later on the lady who was in charge of the stand noticed that she hadn’t yet spoken to us and said how she felt bad for missing us. Even though she had packed everything away at this point, she still went out of her way to go and get both me and Gemma a goodie bag with some little bits and pieces in! We both had a sample of their Joy perfume, as well as a mini sample of their Dior Addict Lip Maximizer. I’ve used this product a couple of times now and it’s lovely! It’s nothing to write home about, but it’s good and does me for work. πŸ™‚

Before we all headed home after the event we had loads of selfies! I loved seeing Emily as I hadn’t seen her since before Christmas! She’s such a great person to talk to and always so honest in her blog writing, as well as just her in general. I also love that she collects pin badges like I do! πŸ˜›

Overall I had such a fun time at the event! I’m not the most fashionable in the world anymore and I don’t really do much in the world of beauty either, but most of all I loved seeing my blogger girls and just having a good natter with them all!

March was such a crazy month for me and I feel like this event (as well as the news I received earlier on in the day) was just the beginning of the crazy. πŸ˜›

Do you love fashion? If so which trends are you looking forward to this spring and summer?

Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time all, take care and I hope you had a lovely weekend.

April Wish List ’19

Is it really April already?! 2019 is already flying by and it’s pretty damn crazy. I’m glad to be fair as I rather like 2019 but all the same, I would like time to slow down a tad. πŸ˜›

I’m going to use April as the month to really get myself back on track, especially with my blog! I’ve only been posting once a week at the moment and that’s upsetting me to be honest as I don’t like not investing into my blog, but I’ve just been too busy or too tired to do so. April already has been good blog wise and I am finding more time to write. I plan to try and spend some of this weekend catching up on writing too.

For now however, it’s time for me to talk about all the goodies I have on my wish list for this month! I hope you enjoy them, I know a lot of people love the sort of items I share and that in itself makes me so happy.

  • Pandora Disney Dumbo Pendant Charm (link)

When Disney Find posted about this over on her Instagram page I KNEW I had to have it! I love Dumbo so much. It’s actually in my top 3 Disney films (alongside Lady and The Tramp and 101 Dalmatians). So when Pandora released this charm I knew I had to get it. I want to buy it this month to be honest but it’s currently sold out online, so if I have some spare cash towards the end of the month I might treat myself. I saw it in the Pandora store recently and it’s gorgeous and so detailed!

  • Nendoroid Persona 5 Joker (link)

I am so excited for this Nendoroid to come out! As many of my readers will know, I LOVE Persona 5 and since I’ve played it, I am kind of obsessed with it… πŸ˜› so when Good Smile Company decided to release the characters as Nendoroid figures I was so happy, because of course I collect Nendoroid figures like crazy, especially this year. This figure will actually be gifted to me by the lovely guys who run and own Gamersheek! I’m hoping in the future I can do a massive post about this figure, as well as the other Phantom Thieves babies. πŸ˜›

  • Vans Checkerboard Classic Slip-On Shoes in Black and White Checker/White (link)

I’ve been toying with the idea of buying these on and off since the New Year and it really sucks… I remember venturing into Schuh and was about to buy them but I left it because I was in the mind of, “meh do I really need these?” So alas they weren’t bought. I was recently gifted a Β£25 Amazon voucher from the gorgeous bunch at my old job. I want to use it towards these Vans! πŸ˜€

  • Monsoon Bea Textured Fit & Flare Dress (link)

I really love this dress, it’s gorgeous and I would really like to have it for my new job due to that! πŸ˜› I haven’t been able to find it in store due to the fact it’s on sale but online it’s still available in my size and in my mind, a decent price. I’m torn with it though but this being said I would still like to get it. I love wearing dresses for work to be fair and this cobalt blue one would be perfect for that. We shall see…

  • Pop Vinyl Figure Aggretsuko Retsuko (link)

I’m not a MASSIVE pop vinyl fan but I recently saw someone buy this Aggretsuko Retsuko one and it looks so adorable! I would rather like this cutie for my desk at work. I’m not sure though… even if I didn’t have her for my desk I think I’d like to have her regardless. πŸ™‚

  • Alan Carr – Yap, Yap, Yap! DVD (link)

Finally I’m talking about this Alan Carr stand up DVD. He’s actually one of my favourite comedians and I own his previous two stand up DVD’s to this one and they are so funny! I rewatched them both recently and remember how hilarious they were! So yeah I would love to watch this one next. I plan to buy it soon as it’s less than Β£3! What a bargain, eh?!

So that is my wish list for this month! A lot of stuff I would really love to buy… but I may just have to be sensible due to monies. I’m trying to save money but last month that really didn’t happen… Dane’s 30th is next weekend and I’ve been trying to spoil him rotten so my bank account has really suffered due to that.

So with it though to be fair, he’s so lovely and deserves to be spoilt!

What do you guys have on your wish lists this month? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you have a lovely weekend.

March Favourites ’19

We are already into the fourth month of the year and it’s so crazy how quickly the year is flowing by! As I mentioned recently in a post about March, the month was like a roller coaster in both my blogging and personal life. I did so much blog related work (events wise) throughout March and I even got myself a new job, which I started today!

So yeah March was a memorable month for 2019 and one I won’t forget for a very long time. Due to this my blog hasn’t had as many posts per week as it usually does due to the fact I’ve been so busy! I’m hoping to be a little quieter throughout April so more posts will be up on my blog.

I plan to try and catch up on gifted posts from March and then I have LOADS of post ideas to pop up on my blog, so make sure to keep your eyes on those.

Anyhoo, it’s time for me to share my favourites from March.

  • Imperial Leather Mermazing Bath Soak.

I picked up this bath soak on a random food shop at the start of March and throughout the month I loved using this after pole dance fitness classes! Sometimes there’s nothing better to do than come home and run a lovely hot bath to have a good soak in… To be fair I really want a bath right now as I’m freezing! This bath soak has Fijian water and lotus flower in which smells so refreshing but also reminds me of a manly scent my dad would have used in the bath whilst I was growing up. I just love this bath soak, I’m just sad that it’s limited edition.

  • MUA Pro Base Soothe & Cool Primer Stick.

I picked this up in March whilst shopping in Superdrug with my friend Sophie (hey you!) and although it’s up on my favourites this month, I do still have some mixed thoughts on it. I’ll review it in the future! πŸ˜› The reason it’s on this list this month however is due to the fact it works really well as a cooling stick and due to this it has done wonders to my under eye area. I can use this throughout the day whenever my eyes feel tired and sore and get an instant wake up with this cooling stick. It will be perfect for hotter days when your skin just needs to feel cooled and refreshed. Also it’s at the stupidly low price of Β£5.00 so you won’t break the bank if you head over to Milk Makeup and buy their version for Β£20 more… πŸ˜›

  • Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint in shade Black Forest.

This was a very spontaneous purchase and I picked it up on a 3 for 2 so this was actually the free item, woohoo! I love the Barry M nail paints as I find they last ages for how much they cost and the price you pay for them is always good. I’ve not used the gelly nail paints for years and forgot how lovely they actually are. I love a good black nail polish so I knew I would love this one! I’ve worn it a few times throughout March and has really loved it! πŸ˜€ There’s nothing wrong with rocking black nail polish, especially if you were an emo/goth kid like I was! πŸ˜›

  • L’Oreal Paris Infallible Magic Essence Drops.

This are some magic essence drops I heard about throughout March from both YouTubers and bloggers, so I knew I had to give them a go myself. Like the cooling stick I currently have some mixed views on this product, but until the cooling stick, I’m not sure if I want to review this yet or not. These drops are a dark blue (as you’ll see!) which is said to be good for brightening the skin and making it look younger and more youthful. I’m unsure if they’re actually brightening my skin at the moment but they’re definitely making my skin feel lovely after use. I wish I could find some primer jobs that mattified but didn’t cost a bomb to buy.

  • Childs Farm Baby Moisturiser with Shea & Cocoa Butter.

So last month in my February favourites (which you can read here) I mentioned how I’d picked up the Aveeno daily moisture lotion to use on my hands as my eczema had gotten worse. This being said the Aveeno didn’t seem to work all that well after a while, which is something my hands tend to do. They get used to a product and then stop it working on my skin. This being said though, I don’t think I was ever going to have much luck with Aveeno and typical this happened after I spoke about it on my favourites post last month. I took to Twitter for help (my handle is @maybeecoffee) to see if I could get anymore suggestions from people and most were saying Childs Farm. Sooo I picked up a bottle and it has done wonders for my skin since! A little bit of this baby moisturiser goes such a long way and due to that it lasts agggggges! I use it every morning before I go out, as well as on and off around the house when I’m at home. It’s honestly perfect and I’m so glad I went with peoples suggestions on picking it up.

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – 24 Hours in Police Custody.

It was kind of hard to pick a show this month and not because I haven’t watched any or anything like that, but because I’ve watched so many various different ones it was just so hard to choose! One that stood out the most isΒ 24 Hours in Police CustodyΒ purely because I love that show so damn much! Every time a new series starts I get so excited for each episode… Which in itself sounds a little fucked up considering it’s about crime… BUT of course I love when they get the bad guys in the end and they get sentenced. I’m pretty sure this week is episode 4 and I can’t believe we are already 4 weeks into the new series! If you’ve never watched this series before then you so should, it’s worth a watch.

Favourite Film – Captain Marvel.

Me and Dane went to watch this a couple of days after it was released and I actually loved it far more than I thought I was going to! Without revealing too much I’ll try and explain why I loved it so much. First of all the soundtrack, it’s amazing and I’d totally buy it! It’s heavily 90’s grunge music and to coincide with that so is some of the fashion shown throughout the movie too, as well as band posters scattered throughout locations in the film. I felt so nostalgic watching it and as a fan of both grunge fashion and music, it made me so happy!a As well as that the film was just so good, the only fault I had with it was the first 20 minutes seemed so drab and boring, but it really does pick up and I can understand why those first boring minutes were necessary for the film overall. If you haven’t watched it yet, please do! πŸ˜€

Favourite Book – Erm…

Did I have time to read? Did I fuck. Now with my new job I’ll have a lot more time to read during my lunch breaks so I am actually so damn excited to be catching up on loads of manga that has been backlogged in my collection lately.

Favourite Music – “11 Minutes” by Yungblud and Halsey Feat. Travis Barker and “High Hopes” by Panic! At The Disco.

I spent a lot of my time listening to KERRANG! Radio in March and this song came on quite a lot and featured heavily as various presenters favourite track of the week and I can understand why. It’s such a sad song with it’s lyrics, but it’s such a lovely song all the same due to the catchy tune etc. The singing by Yungblud and Halsey work so well together, alongside Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker in the background. It’s such an amazing collaboration and it’s fast turned into my favourite song.

Alongside “11 Minutes” I’ve also featured “High Hopes” by Panic! At The Disco as although this song has been out since August 2018, it’s really grown on me lately and I also feel like it’s only really been played recently too. It played on the way to and from both of my interviews for my new job and it was the song I was listening to after I found out I’d been given the job. So whenever I hear it now it reminds me of that and thus has such a lovely memory tied to it! I used to love hearing it loads in my old job, so moving forward I’ll be downloading it soon so I can make sure I hear it to and from my drive to work.

Favourite Game – Yoshi’s Crafted World.

Granted this game only came out at the end of March but I don’t really feel like I played all that many games throughout March as I was just too busy! I played Pokemon GO and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp loads due to how much I travelled to and back from Coventry, but other than that… Nothing. Since I picked up this game a few days ago I have played it loads and really fallen in love with Yoshi all over again! I never played any of the Yoshi games growing up, but always wanted to. I played Yoshi’s New Island but I just couldn’t get into it. I tried the demo for Yoshi’s Crafted World and fell in love, so I knew I had to pick it up! Plus it’s a two player game, so Dane can play it with me!

So that’s all my favourites for March! As I’ve said various times on my blog lately, March was a crazy month and as much as I loved it, I’m really glad for a new month due to how crazy it was. April will hopefully be a bit more relaxed, but this being said it’s going to be just as mad.

Dane’s 30th is this month and I already have most weekends planned with stuff. OH and we mustn’t forget it’s Easter this month too. πŸ˜›

Anyhoo, what were your favourites from March? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you didn’t get too many April Fools jokes made on you today. πŸ˜›

Why Being Burnt Out In March Was Worth It

Well damn March was a crazy fucking month. Yes I am starting this post off with swearing because it is necessary for me describing March already. πŸ˜›

March was crazy and left me feeling burnt out, but damn has it been worth it. March has been the busiest time for my blog in possibly forever as well as in my personal life so with both of those being constantly changing and on the go, I’ve mentally drained myself and for two weeks during March I was actually poorly due to nerves… More about that as the post goes on!

First of all I want to say a HUGE thank you to my lovely followers who are still here! My posts have gone from 2-3 a week to just one at the moment and that bugs me. I like to make sure I have a nice amount of content a week to keep readers happy during that time. I’ve just been too busy to do this many posts in March, but I’m already hopeful that April won’t be this way. Posts will resume back to how they used to be ASAP!

March was really busy for me with blogging events and opportunities and I’m so thankful for that! I love when I get asked to review items or experiences gifted to myself and it makes me so happy to see from that how my blog is growing. It’s also a massive thanks to Coventry Bloggers and the beautiful and hard working Emily who owns it (The Emily Chapters) for giving me the opportunities in the first place. She’s such a star and if you’re a Coventry (or Midlands blogger) then make sure to go and check the group out which I’ve linked. πŸ™‚

I went to so many events including Skinthetics to try out one of the facials they have to offer, Esquires Coffee to taste their new breakfast menu, Palms Bar to taste their new lunch menu, a SS19 fashion and beauty press day (which I’ll be talking about on my blog later this week!) and tomorrow I’ll be going to MOD in Coventry to check out this newly opening pizza restaurant! πŸ˜€

Most of the events were food related, which I’m always down with attending… I love food! πŸ˜›

As well as these events I was also invited to Bubbla Boba in FarGo Village for an event and sadly had to cancel due to how burnt out I was. I was also invited to another event at the start of April, but due to work I can’t attend this either. 😦

But this is the reality of people who work full time and blog as a hobby. This isn’t my job, it’s just a hobby but it’s a hobby I really love and enjoy! I can’t always attend events, no matter how much I want to and if I can’t attend it means someone else can who I’m sure is just as excited as I am to attend. πŸ™‚

So yeah blogging has been slow due to having so many exciting things going on throughout March to do with my blog. Baffling, huh?! As I said before April will be different the reason for that is…

I have a new job! πŸ˜€

As always, I never go into detail about where I work, etc and that certainly won’t be changing here. πŸ˜› All I’ll say is I will be staying in admin, which is a career I have loved doing in my current job so I know I want to continue with that in the future!

I start on 1st April and it’s such an amazing job and company I’ll be moving to! I had to have two interviews and the first one I was so damn nervous in the run up to it, but as soon as I sat down in that interview I was fine and just ploughed through out the best I could, which clearly was amazing as they asked me back for a second interview.

Mere hours after that second interview I was offered the job. I leave where I work on Friday and I am so sad to be saying bye to such an amazing team that I work with. They’re all such lovely people and I’m sad to say goodbye. This being said I know for a fact I’ll see them outside of work and due to that I’m not entirely sad. πŸ™‚

Again I won’t go into anymore detail about where I’m moving to and such but I’m so damn excited and I can’t wait for Monday 1st when I start! πŸ˜€

I’m just so damn happy at the moment and I’d like to think it shows with friends and family at the moment.

That’s pretty much the majority of what I wanted to talk about on this catch up post today. I have so many ideas for posts on my blog, as well as collaborating with some gorgeous people too!

I already have posts in mind such as hauls, reviews, wish list Wednesday’s and many more so make sure to keep your eyes peeled for those.

Are there any posts you’d like to see on my blog soon? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

I hope all my readers are well and have had an amazing month! Easter will be here soon, which is so exciting… You know scoffing all the chocolate… πŸ˜›

Until next time, take care all and I hope your weeks are going well so far.

Esquires Coffee Coventry – New Menu Review*

I do apologise for how quiet I have been the past week on my blog! I just feel like I have been so busy throughout March and time for myself just didn’t happen. So I stopped and allowed myself to have that time. πŸ˜›

Last week I was invited through Coventry Bloggers to attend Esquires Coffee in Coventry to test their new menu, which launched on the 1st March.

Myself alongside some new and old faces were invited along to trial a dish of our choice from the menu. I’ve been to Esquires Coffee in Coventry a couple of times now and I really love it! The baristas really know their coffee and as someone who used to be a barista, I love when someone is passionate about what their do and has plenty of knowledge behind it.

When I heard there was food on offer, I was in there! What can I say, I love food and especially good food, which I already knew Esquires Coffee would offer.

Myself and the other Coventry Bloggers got the chance to have a look at what the new menu had to offer before the evening at Esquires Coffee. We also got the chance to pre-order food that we wanted to eat and review on the evening too, which I thought was great!

I was so torn with what I wanted to eat, as the menu has loads of yummy dishes on offer! There’s a massive range of breakfast and brunch dishes, as well as deli. I finally settled on something from the breakfast and brunch menu, which was the Eggs royale* [GIFTED].

All the food and drinks I received at Esquires Coffee Coventry were gifted to myself in exchange for a review on my blog, so as always I’ve popped a * in the title of this post, as well as * next to items I was gifted ANNNNND of course [GIFTED] is in here too. πŸ™‚

I travelled straight from work to the event so was ready to fill myself with yummy breakfast foods and coffee! On arrival the staff asked us what we would like to drink. They’d recently released their cortado* [GIFTED] drinks into store, which I was rather excited by. For those of you who may not know a cortado is an espresso sized drink which I’ve always described as a flat white in espresso size. The coffee is strong and the milk is velvet and smooth. I loved drinking them every now and then when I worked at Costa Coffee but since leaving over 3 years ago I’ve not had one until last week at the event.

The cortado I was served at Esquires Coffee was delicious and perfect! I also loved the gorgeous little fern on the top of my drink. I was very happy with my choice of hot drink and after I finished it, I knew I’d be ordering another one before I headed home from the event. Random but I’m sure I ordered a cortado with vanilla syrup… But I cant remember if I did or not! πŸ˜› Either way it was delicious!

Through this event I got to meet some of the new Coventry Bloggers, as well as see some familiar faces! I got to meet some lovely girls, who were all so chatty and bubbly. It’s been nice seeing them again since this event too, as well as talking to them on social media.

After loads of chatting, taking photographs and drinking our coffees our food started to come out one by one to each person. Most people seemed to have the same thing and a pattern of the Esquires full vegan breakfast were starting to emerge. That was one thing I loved the most about this new breakfast menu, the vegan full breakfast being offered!

I know, I’m not vegan but I LOVE when I see places offering these options to people. It’s always good if you’re with someone who IS vegan and even if I’m not vegan now, what if I decide to be in the future? It’s always good to know what my options could be in the future!

The range of breakfast items on this new menu were amazing, which is why I found it so hard to choose something to eat. As I mentioned earlier, I ended up going with the Eggs royale. This includes two eggs, cured smoked salmon, baby spinach and hollandaise sauce on toasted English muffin. Right up my street, I’m a sucker for salmon! This costs Β£7.45 which I feel is such a reasonable price for how much you get.

By the way, the sausage isn’t included! Emily (The Emily Chapters) asked me if I wanted anything else with my food and for some reason I said, “Erm… A sausage would be good!” and I got one! I don’t know why I wanted a sausage… Maybe I just fancied one? It was yummy. πŸ˜›

I couldn’t wait to dig into my eggs royale though! I made sure to film some egg yolk porn over on my Instagram stories the night of the event. It was definitely fun to watch back. πŸ˜› The eggs were perfectly poached and the salmon was thicker than it looked. It was perfect all around and although this is a breakfast meal, I’d gladly eat it at any time of the day!

It was lovely talking to everyone about what food they’d chosen and were eating! Some people also had sandwiches, which looked AMAZING! Alongside people having hot food, there were also some pastries too, one of them being a raspberry/strawberry croissant* [GIFTED]. I can’t remember which it was, but I feel like it was raspberry. It was so pretty to look at (and of course take photos of! :P) but it was so yummy too. It had slight jam in the middle, which I’m never usually a fan of but it was so good! I regret not ordering a pastry to try from the menu to be fair, but I know in future I’ll happily venture to Coventry Bloggers for coffee and pastries in the future!

After the meal I decided to order myself another cortado but this time I had a mocha cortado with coconut milk* [GIFTED].

It was AMAZING and I was so glad I ordered it! Ages ago I tried a mocha with coconut mil and loved it so much. I am a massive soya hot chocolates as I find the soya milk can give them a really nice nutty flavour to the drink. The coconut milk works really well in this drink and if anything compliments both the coffee and chocolate flavours.

This was lovely drink to wrap up the meal and I was so glad I ordered it. I’d definitely order it again in the future from Esquires Coffee!

We had more of a natter at the end of the meal and then headed off home. I had a lovely journey back home and I especially felt great that I’d made some new blogger friends and got to have a catch up with some old faces.

This was one of my first blog events of 2019 and I loved it so much!

So, do you think you’ll venture to Esquires Coffee in Coventry soon to check out and try their new menu? If so what would you order yummy?

I also want to know what drinks you order when you go to coffee shops? I usually order a flat white with vanilla if I want coffee or a soya hot chocolate with marshmallows if I want a treat!

I loved this event so much and now I’m craving eggs royale. πŸ˜›

Until next time all, I hope you’re having a lovely weekend!
