Bubble Boba Mocktail Party and Masterclass*

If there is one thing I love it’s bubble tea, so the fact it’s now more readily and easily available to buy on the high street makes me so happy! I especially love that Coventry has more than one bubble tea place to venture to as well. They only have one chain and to be blunt, it’s shit. So after I discovered Bubbla Boba through Amy (Writing into the Ether) and my friend Sophie back at the start of the year, I haven’t really looked back and 9 times out of 10 when I visit Coventry I’ll go to Bubble Boba for a drink or two!

Me and Amy – Writing into the Ether

When Amy invited me to the Bubble Boba Mocktail Party and Masterclass I was so excited to go! I was meant to attend the first Bubba Boba event in March but I just wasn’t able to due to feeling too tired and run down, so the fact I was invited to the one after was lovely.

I was also able to take a plus one, so I ended up getting my boyfriend Dane to tag along too for a fun evening. This was definitely fun and I enjoyed every minute of it, which I think Dane did too.

This experience was gifted for reviewing purposes, so all views on this post are my own.

Bubble Boba is located in FarGo Village in Coventry and as you enter FarGo from Far Gosford Street it’s pretty much one of the first places you will spot on you way into FarGo, which I love! It’s the perfect location if you want to grab a drink before doing some shopping in FarGo or even on the way out on your way home.

Bubble Boba isn’t exactly the biggest store in the world and can’t really house a lot of people – which is a bit of a shame if you wanted to plan a biggish group of you to go and visit. It’s more of a place to go and hang out with a friend and play some games (they have some Nintendo consoles in there and a TV!) or even just relax and have a gossip. I don’t mind walking around with my bubble tea however. Can I also add how kawaii the store is with all the Alpacasso plushies lining the shelves?! ๐Ÿ˜€

We were running a little late for the event due to personal reasons so when we arrived we had just missed out on tasting all the yummy bubble waffles that Bubble Boba have on offer. I LOVE bubble waffles so much so it was nice to get the chance to try some of the ones that Bubble Boba have to offer. They have loads of different ones including; Original, Oodles of Oreo, Red Velvet, Salted Caramel, Unicorn Dreams and my favourite Matcha Madness (which is made out of matcha but also contains mochi).

Not long after we arrived and managed to scoff some of the yummy waffles, we started to taste some of the newest flavours to join Bubble Boba for their Mocktails Collection.

There are six new flavours in this collection and we got to try every single one! The order I talk about them will be the order we tried them in and of course I’ll tell you guys names, as well as what flavours they are and such.

Lemon & Honey – Freshly squeezed lemon with honey from bees.

Tropical Paradise – Passionfruit, strawberry, orange with orange and lemon slices.

Polynesian Punch – Pineapple, strawberry, mango with real pineapple pieces.

Spanish Riviera – Green apple, lychee and honeydew.

Summer Nights – Strawberry, blueberry and cherry.

Hawaiian Sunset – Mango, raspberry and peach.

Summer Nights was definitely my favourite will all the berry flavours. These were all really refreshing in taste to be honest with you and really did remind me of a tropical drink you would have abroad on holiday, or at a friends summertime BBQ party!

After we tried the new Mocktail collection we were able to try all of the toppings they have on offer, including the pudding and tapioca. I LOVE pudding since I discovered it in London last year and always order it for my matcha bubble tea drinks since. I had to give this a go and it was so delicious. I definitely plan to try this with Bubble Boba’s matcha in the future.

I also gave the coconut topping a try, which I didn’t realise was a mixture of popping bubbles and jellies. I HATE the jellies you have with bubble tea! They taste amazing but the texture of them just makes me sick and it just makes me think of gone off food or something. To be honest though I gave it a go and it was much better on it’s on than with the drink itself. Dane loves the jellies however and more often than not actually orders it with his bubble tea whenever we go for it.

We also got to taste Bubble Boba’s tapioca, which was lovely! It’s made with honey to naturally sweeten it, which works really well. I haven’t actually had tapioca for ages as I just prefer popping bubbles more. This was good though and Dane really loved it.

The one thing I really like about Bubble Boba is that they have 3 samples on the bar where you order, which means you can try before you buy specific drinks. They’d had 3 specific drinks on offer that day which were; Pineapple Fruit Tea, Hanoi Sunrise (which was the drink of the day!) and Orange Oolong Fruit Tea. I tried all three and whilst they were all nice I LOVED Hanoi Sunrise the most.

Just to add this in here, when you pop into the store you can order your drinks on the little tablets they have next to these three sample containers if you wish to pay by card, or you can go up to the till if you have cash. I love the system they have on the tablet as it gives you so many options.

After we got to have a try of all the new Mocktails Collection, it was finally time to start having a go at being little bubble tea baristas ourselves, which I was so excited for! I’ve been drinking bubble tea since I discovered it in 2012 and have to this day never given it a go myself, so I was intrigued to see the logic behind how it’s made. I didn’t quite know what to expect 100% but I wasn’t shocked, but I was somewhat surprised too.

We started off with being given our shakers and all told to pick three flavours from all the ones they gave us. These included; strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, green apple, rose, kiwi, pineapple, passionfruit, mango, honeydew, cherry, lemon, honey peach, orange and lychee.

We got to make two bubble teas of our own with two different recipes, or the same one if we really like our first! For my first drink I decided to go for the flavours – green apple, cherry and passionfruit.

Once we had added our desired flavours it was time to add some fructose, which he’s to sweeten the drink further. Then we added 50ml of hot water followed by mixing with a spoon to combine the flavoured syrups, fructose and water together.

Please excuse my face haha xD

When we were ready to move onto the next step we got to choose which tea we wanted to add to our bubble tea creations. We had the choice of three; floral jasmine, fruity assam or fruity oolong tea. For my first drink I decided to go for the floral jasmine tea, as this usually what I get from Bubble Boba when I order my usual, which is the green apple. You then go and add your ice up to a certain point in the shaker, pop on the lid and then get shaking!

Me and the gorgeous Emily – The Emily Chapters

Gemma – Just Gem, me, Emily – The Emily Chapters and Amy – Writing into the Ether

This was loads of fun in regards to all the photos, videos and especially Boomerangs you could take, but also bloody tiring! You know you had shook enough when your drink when a frothy texture. This section is VERY photo heavy by the way and I am SO NOT SORRY! ๐Ÿ˜›

This is when it was time to go ahead and pick which toppings we wanted for our bubble teas. As we had been giving the chance to taste these earlier on in the event it was good to have an idea of what we wanted. For my first drink I opted for blueberry, raspberry and lemon.

Dane’s first drink was raspberry, strawberry and lemon, with assam tea and strawberry bubbles.

We got to drink our first drinks at the event whilst everything was washed and tidied ready for round two!

Not going to lie, my first drink wasn’t very nice and although I somewhat enjoyed it, it wasn’t great. I was glad at the chance to have a go at making another drink in all honesty due to this. I think it was either the passion fruit flavour or the jasmine tea that ruined my flavours.

When we were ready it was time for round two! We definitely went through the second making of our bubbles teas quicker and sadly I didn’t really get many photos of this due to how straight forward it now was to go ahead and have a go again at making bubble tea.

My second bubble tea drink was a definitely better and I really enjoyed it the day after the event after work. I went for green apple, cherry and lemon with assam tea and blueberry, raspberry and cherry popping bubbles. Dane went for double lemon and green apple with assam tea and tapioca bubbles.

The event overall was amazing and it was great after 7 years of drinking bubble tea to finally be able to give it a go myself and even come up with a new and unique flavour. I especially love how the staff said, any flavours we made and enjoyed we could ask for in the future when visiting the store. YES!

Bubble Boba have recently decided to open their masterclasses to people and have loads of offers online for people to check out. I’m going to link them all down below, so please make sure to go and check them out if you’re interested in this!

Overall I LOVED attending the Bubble Boba Mocktail Party and Masterclass last week and after work it really was something to look forward to. The fact I got to bring Dane along with me and see some of my favourite blogging beauties, it was just perfect all around! I mean, what’s better than bubble tea and friends? ๐Ÿ˜›

Do you love bubble tea? If so what do you usually order when you go? I always usually opt for a milky drink of green tea matcha with pudding OR green apple with black tea and cherry popping bubbles.

Are you local to either of the Bubble Boba stores? If so (and you haven’t done so already!) will you be planning to head there anytime soon? Let me know in the comments guys!

Until next time, I hope you’ve all had a fabulous week and your weekends are relaxing.

YY Kawaii – I’m A Brand Affiliate

Good evening my gorgeous readers, I hope you’re all well!

I feel like I’ve started today’s post off different than how I usually do, but it doesn’t hurt to have a change every now and then, does it?

As you may have already guessed from the title, I have some VERY exciting news to share and I honestly cannot wait to talk about it.

YY Kawaii is one of my favourite stores, purely because they sell loads of amazing Japanese anime (and gaming) merchandise goodies that I always flock to them for. They have some of the best prices around for the UK and are really friendly. If you don’t see something they sell, you can always ask them and you’ll get a straight forward answer. They’re always honest about pricing upfront and will let you know if an item is going to be really expensive before you commit to anything.

YY Kawaii is somewhere I go to for mainly Nendoroid figures and Persona 5 and Pokemon related merchandise BUT they sell so much more than just these. Off the top of my head they sell a lot of Sanrio, Love Live, My Hero Acadamia, Hatsune Miku, Sailor Moon and more. Those are just to name a few.

I’ve mentioned YY Kawaii on my blog so many times, through blog posts dedicated to them as well as through mentions on wish list posts. If you fancy checking out some of the posts I’ve written about them on my blog, then check out the link below:

A Mini YY Kawaii Haul

YY Kawaii Collective Haul

Not only do YY Kawaii have their website but they have their Instagram pages YY Kawaii andย  YY Kawaii Merch, which is where they sell from too. I buy from both, but more often than not I do but through their YY Kawaii Merch page.

So what does it mean to be a brand affiliate? Well basically I get to do the same stuff I do anyway! Talk about this brand I love, but a little bit more than before. I’ll be trying to write more blog posts about YY Kawaii and what new stock they have out to pre-order, an example being Nendoroid’s and Pokemon and Persona 5 merchandise that month that I’ll recommend to my readers to go and check out. If there is any merchandise in particular from Japan that you would like to see on my blog then let me know and I can try and talk about that stuff more too. A big example of this could be Sailor Moon and Sanrio as I know so many people who love both of these.

As well as that I’ll be doing some more promotion on my blog Instagram page too (@theremightbecoffeeblog) as well as through Facebook groups.

At the time of this post I don’t have a discount code that I can share with my lovely readers, but in the future this is a possibility! As and when this happens I’ll be sharing it on both my Instagram and Facebook pages – as well as sticking said discount code on my blog too, so keep eyes peeled for that!

So when does my brand affiliation start? 1st June, so just over 2 weeks time! I am somewhat nervous because I want to do the brand justice. I feel like I have a big pair of boots to fill, especially as I’ll be on a trial session for a couple of months so I just want to make sure I do the best I can! ๐Ÿ˜€

The only thing I ask from my readers is support… In the sense of if there is something you would like me to talk about to do with YY Kawaii, please tell me! I will be more than happy to share Nendoroid’s they stock if you have any in mind. Maybe you’re interested in having a go at Japanese Ichiban Kuji but can’t travel to Japan to give one a go? That’s okay because YY Kawaii do them sometimes! They have some coming up soon, so I would be more than happy to talk about these for example.

Although I have linked back to both YY Kawaii’s website and Instagram pages, I’ll link everything down below too, including social media pages:

So my main question to you guys have you shopped with YY Kawaii before? If so please let me know what you bought! If you’ve never shopped with them before, do you think you will? If so what would you pick up? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

I know this is a short post today, but after I found out this lovely bit of news late last week, I just couldn’t wait to share it with you guys! I for one am so excited to be a brand affiliate for a brand I love to bits… Even if it is only for a couple of months. ๐Ÿ™‚

Until next time, I hope everyone had a great weekend and that you’re all enjoying the gorgeous weather at the moment. It’s glorious and well deserved for us lot in the UK ๐Ÿ˜›

The Colourful Soap Company – Review*

I feel like I haven’t written a beauty review for the longest time and I really do miss it! Sometimes geeky stuff just gets in the way, so every once in a while when I get the chance to write a beauty review I love it so much.

Thanks to the beaut that is Emily (The Emily Chapters) who runs Coventry Bloggers I get the chance to work with some amazing companies, both big and small. This just happens to be one of the many companies I’ve worked with, a new and independent one at that.

The Colourful Soap Company are a fairly new independent soap company who have only been around since February. They specialise in making fully customise able soaps in all sorts of ways with prices starting as little as ยฃ2.

So when I was emailed by Emily to let me know I’d been successful in working with The Colourful Soap Company, I was pretty damn excited! I picked my shape, colour and scent a few weeks later I received my soap! I couldn’t wait to get home and give it a go.

This item was gifted to myself for reviewing purposes and all words are my own.

I opted for a purple and white unicorn with a cotton candy scent. The scent of this reminds me of something you would pick up from Lush and due to that I already loved it when I took it out of the packet for a sniff.

The first use I decided to use it on my body, which lathered up really nicely in my shower sponge and after use made me feel squeaky clean and smelling lovely. It also left my skin feeling silky soft which was really nice and took me by surprise to be honest with you! Personally however I didn’t use this on my body again as I didn’t feel it was for me… I’ve just never been a HUGE soap fan to be fair when it comes to washing with it.

I tried this on my hands too, which left them feeling really soft and moisturised but the thing I love using this soap on the most is for shaving.

Stay with me here because I know it sounds odd but when it comes down to shaving I do like to change it up from using shaving gels to hair conditioners and soaps as I find they last longer for the money and sometimes the leave my pins feeling so much softer too, which is exactly what this soap does.

I feel like this helps me get a smooth, quick and easy glide when shaving and it’s perfect! It leaves a lovely moisturised feeling behind on my legs too, which is perfect after shaving them.

These soaps by The Colourful Soap Company are perfect for gifts, treats for yourself and would even make great ideas for parties and events. For the price too these are so worth the money, especially with how customise able you can be.

I honestly love The Colourful Soap Company and would buy from them in the future! I would love for them to try and emulate some of the Lush scents, especially ones you can’t purchase anymore!

I’d also love to see them branch out to making wax tarts too. ๐Ÿ˜€

If you love the sound of The Colourful Soap Company then make sure to go and check out their social media pages below.

Facebook

Instagram

If you’re interested in grabbing yourself a soap or two make sure to drop them a message on their Facebook page and have a chat about what options you have for your soap!

What would your perfect soap be? Shape, colour and scent? Make sure to let me know in the comments! I think mine would have to be a fox shaped soap, orange and smells of Lush’s discontinued Christmas scent Yog Nog. It smells of caramel biscuits. It’s amazing! ๐Ÿ˜€

Until next time all I hope you’re having a lovely weekend!

Wish List Wednesday – Detective Pikachu

I decided today was a day for a wish list! I understand I’ve had two wish lists in a row now, technically with my monthly wish list being the post before this one BUT there is a reason for that! Detective Pikachu is out in just a couple of days and I cannot express enough how excited I am for this film. Remember my excitement for Deadpool and Deadpool 2? Yeah? I have that excitement ALL OVER AGAIN but now it’s with Detective Pikachu! I can’t express my excite right now. I booked the tickets for me and Dane for this film bloody weeks ago, so much so that I kept my eye on the “book now” button to show. I know that’s sad, but whatever. It’s the little things.

So due to this excitement of mine, I knew I had to do a wish list Wednesday post. I don’t feel like I’ve done one for quite sometime (checked, it’s been over 4 months now…) so meh why not. ๐Ÿ˜›

As I’m writing this I’ve just broken up from work for the bank holiday and I am hella excited! I don’t plan to do anything really for the next couple of days and I’m okay with that.

This post will include items you can buy in the UK, as well as from Japan. I’ll link to stores as well as sellers who can get you the goodies you may want to bag from Japan. I also want to put it out there that whilst this is a wish list post, I’m also going to write about items that I don’t wish for myself, but know other people will be interested in!

I really hope you guys enjoy this post and are as excited for Detective Pikachu as I am! ๐Ÿ˜€

  • Detective Pikachu Missing T-Shirt (link)

I’m naughty – this t-shirt hasn’t just featured on this wish list but it’s also on my monthly wish list for May too (which you can see here, alongside other goodies!) so yeah two items in a row… Sorry, not sorry. ๐Ÿ˜› I’ve actually bought this now as I really love the design on the t-shirt itself. It’s so damn cute and I can already see myself wearing it with mom jeans and my 101 Dalmatians Vans on Friday when I go and watch the film. I bought this from EMP who have LOADS of Detective Pikachu designs available. I just happened to prefer this one to the others. They do both t-shirts for men and women so make sure to go and check them out.

  • Detective Pikachu Mug With Personalised Message (link)

I love this mug so much and if it wasn’t for the fact I have SO MANY mugs in my house I think I would have ordered this one by now. I assume the person selling it on Etsy designed the images of Detective Pikachu but I love the cute little poses he’s doing. I wish this was a takeaway mug as I think I would have bought it for work if that was the case. I’ll see how long I can withstand without this mug in my life. ๐Ÿ˜›

Of course as a massive Pokemon fan I HAD to order this! First of all I’ll let you know it wasn’t cheap, but after seeing photos of it I’m pretty damn glad I decided to order it. It’ll be arriving towards the end of May and I honestly can’t wait to share it with you! This is a Pokemon Centre exclusive and as the title reads, is a lifesize plush, so it’ll be pretty big when it arrives. I don’t honestly have a clue what I’m going to do with it yet… I’ll probably keep it in our bedroom with the massive Totoro plush Dane bought me for our second Christmas together.

  • Build A Bear Psyduck Bundle (link)

Although I love my Eevee and Vulpix Build A Bear plushies – I don’t intend to pick up anymore Pokemon Build A Bear’s in the future. This is due to the fact there just aren’t any I want, which in all honesty includes the two new ones they’ve brought out to coincide withย Detective Pikachu.ย However, although I don’t want them I know quite a few people who will! I like how they’ve brought out Psyduck to be honest with you as I know quite a lot of people love this Pokemon from it being Misty’s back in the day on the original series. You can buy the bundle on the website and get loads of goodies for the Psyduck, or just the Psyduck alonge instore. They’ve also brought out the Snubbull plush from the movie.

  • Detective Pikachu on Nintendo 3DS (link)

I remember around this time last year the Nintendo 3DS game came out forย Detective Pikachuย only for the film to be announced not long after. I’ve put the game in here because if you plan to go and watch the film then I recommend you play the game before/after you’ve watched it. Especially if you LOVE the film! I’m glad I played the game beforehand but I do worry I’m going to make loads of comparisons between the two, but I’ll try not to. I really did love the game though and I’m sure you will too if you wanted to have a go!

Not going to lie, I actually regret not ordering these for Dane when I ordered my lifesize Detective Pikachu plushie. I might go and try to order these for him still as a little anniversary gift. They’re one size men’s boxers and they look bloody amazing! These aren’t the cheapest in the world (looking around ยฃ15 for these) for what they are BUT for what they are they’re cool to own at least. As I said, I might just get these for Dane as an anniversary present.

  • Detective Pikachu Movie Inspired Enamel Pins by Eat Your Pins (Kickstarter link)

The last item(s) I want to talk about on this post is actually a Kickstarter that came up just 4 days ago so I thought I would give them a mention here as their pins seem adorable. The Kickstarter campaign is available until 22nd May 2019 and there are loads of different pin designs to choose from and all of them are to do with the newย Detective Pikachuย movie. Go and check them out!

So those are my choices for thisย Detective Pikachuย wish list today! I hope you enjoyed reading it and even spot some bits and pieces you like the look of. If you want to check out more of the exclusive Pokemon Centre merch then head over to YY Kawaii Merch Instagram page! That’s who I always order my Japan merchandise from.

Anyhoo I hope if you’re going to watchย Detective Pikachuย that you really enjoy the film and make sure to hit me up online to let me know what you think of it! I am beyond excited to go on Friday night. Me and Dane are planning a little date night for it, which I can’t wait for. ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope you’ve all had a lovely week so far and until next time, take care all!

May Wish List ’19

Wow as if it’s May already! It’s pretty crazy just how quick 2019 is going but at the same time it’s kind of depressing… It means I’m not only getting closer to turning 30 but also getting closer to one of my life goals. I want to go to Japan after my 30th birthday but at the moment I’m worried this is just going to continue to be a dream.

This is something I’ll go into another time. For now it’s time for my monthly wish list! I’ve been really loving getting a style again apart from baggy joggers and a t-shirt. I picked up a pair of mom jeans in April and I love them to death so I’m trying to get more geeky t-shirts lately so I can get myself a real geeky look going on! ๐Ÿ˜€

To be honest I need to really chill out with money lately as I do really want to save up for Japan and whilst it isn’t going bad right now, it isn’t going as quickly as I’d have hoped.

For now however, I hope you enjoy this months wish list! I feel like it’s a really boring list, but whatever. I love all the items that are on it and I hope you guys do too.

  • Lime Crime Best Of Lip Reds (link)

This is a set I have wanted since Christmas to be honest with you, but I just never picked it up. I guess I wasn’t sure of the price at the time and I was skint due to Christmas, as well as both mine and my mom’s birthdays. I’ve been keeping my eyes on this set though for ages on the website and during Easter it went REALLY cheap, almost half price in fact. Finally I bit the bullet and purchased the set! I rather like Lime Crime and miss wearing liquid lipsticks a little for their staying power. This set is gorgeous and will work great for when I fancy wearing reds throughout the year, whether it be for work, in the beer garden or for blog events. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m glad I waited and picked this up for cheap!

  • Monsoon Celleni Star Print Midi Dress (link)

I’ve had my eye on this dress for just over a month now. I saw it when I was out in Leamington Spa looking for possible new work pieces for when I was due to start my new job. I spotted this dress and thought what a gorgeous colour and print it was and had on it. I do rather like a good maxi dress but as of yet I’ve actually never tried a midi dress. I tried one on the day I was out shopping and rather liked it, the reason for not buying said dress was the fit on the arms was shit! ๐Ÿ˜› This dress is really expensive so I’m waiting for it to go down in price before I make the jump at it. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Detective Pikachu T-Shirt (link)

I’m so damn excited for Detective Pikachu! It’s less than a week away now and I’ve already booked tickets to go and watch it. I am THAT excited for this movie! Not only am I a huge Pokemon fan, but Ryan Reynolds is also my favourite actor. When I saw this t-shirt for sale on EMP I KNEW I had to get it! I’ve ordered it before this post went live and I’m actually hoping it arrives soon so I can dress it up with my mom jeans and my Vans.

  • Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid T-Shirt (link)

This is a t-shirt I’ve had saved on my eBay account for the longest time, but as of yet I just haven’t ordered it. It’s from China, which to be honest I am always hesitant to order from for various reasons. The photos always look better than the actual product. I’ll see how I feel still in regards to this t-shirt, but again like the Detective Pikachu t-shirt I would really love to rock this with mom jeans.

  • Himouto! Umaru-chan Vol. 5 (link)

Towards the end of April my reading just shot straight up! I haven’t been reading properly for ages due to having too much shit going on so now I’ve finally had the chance to sit and read during my work break, it’s lovely. When I’ve caught up on this series I’ll definitely pick up this volume to read next. I do really love reading manga and if anything I’ve forgotten lately just how much I love reading it.

  • Pandora Bull Terrier Puppy Pendant Charm (link)

Pandora have recently released their adorable pets charms and I am in LOVE with all the puppy versions they’ve released, including this bull terrier one. Randomly I used to really want a bull terrier growing up so I would love to add this charm to my bracelet as a reminder of younger Nat and the pet that she wanted when she grew up. I’d never get one now to be perfectly honest with you, even though a part of me would still love to deep down.

  • Chocolate Raisin Fury Starry Sky Of Creation Mew T-Shirt (link)

The last item on this list and it’s ANOTHER t-shirt! I was meant to mention Chocolate Raisin Fury’s t-shirts back in last months wish list post but I kind of forgot to be honest with you. I discovered Chocolate Raisin Fury at MCM Comic Con Birmingham back at the end of March and I am so thankful for it. I LOVE her designs so much and I definitely need to own more in my life! I have my eye on all of the Studio Ghibli designs but I REALLY love this Mew design at the moment and would love to add it to my geeky t-shirt collection!

So that is my wish list for May! What items do you guys have on your wish lists this month? Make sure to let me know in the comments as well as what item(s) you like on my list (if any! :P).

Until next time take care all and I hope you’re having a lovely weekend so far.

April Favourites ’19

its gonna be may GIF

Image taken from GIPHY

I just had to add this gif here seeing as last year I added the IT’S GONNA BE MAY one! ๐Ÿ˜›

Wow. How is it May already?! It’s been a month since I started my new job, as well as Easter bank holiday passing and the first of two bank holiday’s this month are looming. How wonderful May is going to be. ๐Ÿ˜›

I have a feeling May is going to be a very busy month with both personal life as well as blogging life. I’m excited for what the month will bring to be honest with you. ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyhoo it’s time to get on with my favourites from April!

  • Molton Brown Fiery Pink Pepper Bath & Shower Gel.

This is a product I’ve owned for quite a while to be honest with you, but I’ve only just managed to start using it. This is purely by choice to be honest with you. My mom gifted this to me as she had two and wasn’t as keen on the scent as she thought she was going to be. I’ve never used a Molton Brown product before but I know they’re quite high up there as a company when it comes to their products, so I knew it would be good. Bloody hell, I didn’t actually think it was going to be as good as it actually was! I was pleasantly surprised and would DEFINITELY purchase their products in the future. Not going to lie, this isn’t usually the scent I would choose myself but it’s gorgeous! It’s like a feminine smelling aftershave scent… If that makes sense? A little bit of this product goes a long way and foams up really good. The thing I love the most about it though is how the scent actually sticks onto the skin and it lasts until mid morning. I feel like not many shower gels do this so the fact this one does gives me reason to buy from Molton Brown. I honestly recommend them so much if you can justify the price.

  • EOS Lip Balm in Passion Fruit.

I didn’t actually need a new lip balm but when I spotted that Savers had the EOS Lip balms cheap at just ยฃ2.99 I decided to pick a new one up for myself. I’ve not used EOS lip balms for over 4 years now and reason for that being is that’s when my last one ran out (which you can read about here from back in my July Favourites 2015). I did purchase the Lemon Drop flavour a couple of years ago, but this was when I was having issues with infections on my lips and after I used it I didn’t touch it again. I still own it but I’m scared if I use it said infection will come back. I really need to just throw it away. ANYWAY! I have been loving this lip balm towards the end of April. I haven’t used a stick form style of lip balm for years due to that lip infection I had all that time ago (which you can read about here) so me buying this lip balm was quite a bit step because of that. I have no regrets however and have been loving using this. It smells amazing, tastes yummy and leaves my lips feeling gorgeous and soft. I plan to pick up more in the future at the steal of a price! I just wish they had more of the flavours I’d really like to try.

  • LAB LED Sonic Teeth Whitening Toothbrush.

This is actually a belated birthday present from my mom. Granted she bought me gift(s) for my birthday but she also really wanted to get me an electric toothbrush. We kept umming and ahhing over which one to get me and due to the fact we couldn’t settle on anything, it ws left… Until recently. My mom found this electric toothbrush by LAB and decided to order it for me. This is meant to be a whitening toothbrush but to be perfectly honest with you, I can’t notice any change in my teeth… Maybe others will but alas I haven’t Both me and Dane use this toothbrush as we have interchangeable heads and not only do I love it, but he does too! I really do feel like this cleans my teeth better than a manual toothbrush ever could and I really do love it! This also came with some charcoal toothpaste, which I rather like. It tastes really nice but it doesn’t foam up much. Would you guys like to see a review on this toothbrush at some point this month? Make sure to let me know!

  • The Body Shop Peppermint Candy Cane Fragranced Hand Cream.

This is another product that I’ve owned for ages but have yet to use. When I started my new job at the start of April I decided it was finally time to give it a go! I tell you what, I’m gutted that it’s a limited edition product from Christmas 2018 as this is by far one of my best The Body Shop hand creams I’ve ever used! I find with these hand creams they do NOTHING for my eczema prone hands and I end up hardly using them. However, this one really does work and I was pleasantly surprised due to that. It smells amazing too with the sweet peppermint scent. I am really sad that this is near the end of it’s life and I won’t be able to repurchase it… Hopefully this scent returns Christmas 2019!

  • Tweak’d by Nature Rhassoul Rise & Shine Volumising Shampoo.

I was pretty sceptical when it came down to using this shampoo. I’ve been rather fond of my L’Oreal sulphate free shampoo for quite some time now but when my mom recommended this shampoo for me, I decided to give it a go. My mom is usually spot on when it comes down to stuff like this. Alas I have fallen in love with this shampoo and I’m actually considering repurchasing it! It leaves my hair feeling soft, voluminous and smelling gorgeous! When I’m drying my hair I really notice the scent it leaves behind. This isn’t a sulphate free shampoo but I don’t feel like I’ve really noticed this in regards to the aftermath of the shampoo after washing. My only issue with this shampoo is that it takes bloody ages to get it to a lovely lather. I worry I use too much of the product and then not only am I “wasting” it I’m also putting possibly too much product into my hair. If I don’t create a massive lather in my hair, I don’t feel like I’m getting it clean… If that makes sense? I would like to try more of the Tweak’d by Nature range as they seem really good, as well as different.

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – Fruits Basket.

First of all I just want to say – I chose the gif above because I thought it was so bloody cute!

I really need to give myself a kick up the arse lately as my reading of anime and watching of manga has been SHOCKING since the start of the year! Alas April was my month for picking both of these things back up, which I’m really happy about! A new and adapted version of Fruits Basket launched in April and I’ve been watching it every Friday when a new episode came out on Funimation. I ALWAYS wanted to watch Fruits Basket back in the day when the original anime series was out, but I just never got to. I watched all of one maybe two episodes at a push but when it came down to watching the others I could NEVER find them anywhere to watch. I know the full series was out on DVD but the price of them was quite expensive back in the day and I just couldn’t justify it. Recently I was tempted to buy them all on DVD but I am so glad I left it, due to the new series coming out. Fruits Basket is about a girl who moves in with some friends but discovers they can all turn into animals from the Chinese zodiac. So far it’s been such a cute, funny and yet emotional anime and I’m so happy that the remake has come out so I can FINALLY watch this series somehow!

Favourite Movie – Dumbo and Avengers: Endgame.

April was definitely the month of movies and I swear, I was LOVING it! ๐Ÿ˜€ First of all me and Dane went to go and see Dumbo before the Easter bank holiday and whilst he wasn’t arsed about seeing it, I sort of was. The original Dumbo from 1941 is by far one of my favourite Disney movies and at almost every moment in this movie I WILL cry because it’s just a sad fucking movie. Even when good stuff happens (which let’s face it, is rare!) I cry. Anyways the Tim Burton version of Dumbo is really good and it was a film I was glad I went to the cinema to see. I’d gladly watch it again, especially with Dane’s nephew and even friends children as it was an enjoyable watch. I loved that they kept some little aspects of Dumbo in there from 1941. It was typical Tim Burton to be honest with you. If you have children I’d say take them to see it and if you’re like me and loved the original Dumbo then I recommend you go see it too.

Onto Avengers: Endgame… I don’t quite know what I can say about it without worrying I give anything away… It is an emotional 3 hours to be perfectly honest with you and I don’t think I’ve cried at a film so much since I went to watch Marley & Me – which I sobbed at! I recommend if you go to watch take some tissues and find a guide online of when is the best time(s) to go for toilet breaks! I found one AFTER we got out of the cinema and I actually went for my pee break at the right time. Not bad eh? ๐Ÿ˜› I just loved this film so much for so many reasons… I just wish I could say more here without the worry of spoilers.

Favourite Book – In Real Life by Cory Doctorow.

I picked up this book around the start of April after finding it in Waterstones. I’d had it on my Amazon wish list for years but eventually removed it as I didn’t think I’d ever pick it up. Waterstones were selling it for ยฃ10 which is the cheapest I’ve found it anywhere. I’d have been a bit of a fool if I DIDN’T pick it up! This is about a girl whose family don’t have a whole lot of money. She hears about an online gaming world from a guest speaker at her school. After kindly asking her mother if she can pay to play the online game she goes into the game and discovers some stuff through it that open her eyes. It’s such a great book and I recommend it for people to read who love graphic novels as well as gaming.

Favourite Music – Ozzy Osbourne “See You On The Other Side” and Halsey “Without Me”.

I’ve really been getting into loads of new artists and songs lately and it’s thanks to the music that plays during my pole dance classes, as well as listening to KERRANG! Radio all day at work. It’s amazing in all honesty and it if wasn’t thanks to both of those things lately I wouldn’t have discovered these two songs recently. The first one is by Ozzy Osbourne and is quite a sad song, but all the same I am addicted to it! It’s clearly about losing a loved one and it’s such a touching song. The second one by Halsey is another sad song about how she’s been through a rocky relationship and her feelings now it’s over. Both songs are beautiful and I love listening to them both on a daily business.

Favourite Game – Yoshi’s Crafted World.

I know this was my favourite game last month too but in all honesty I have been LOVING this game! I played it nonstop over the Easter bank holidays and adored it! Not going to lie, I plan to play it tonight after I’ve finished writing this post (day before this post went live!) as I just love it that much. I’ve played a couple of Yoshi games over the years but none of them have been as enjoyable as this one has to me. I just find it so relaxing to play and every level is so in depth with all the different secrets you can find, collecting items through gatcha machines and even two player mode. There’s nothing not to like about this game and that’s why it’s here again for another month running. ๐Ÿ˜€

So those are all my favourites from April! The month went by so bloody quick and I already can’t quite believe I’ve been in my job a month today. I’m really enjoying it so far.

How was April for my lovely readers? Also which items were you loving in April? Make sure to let me know in the comments.

Until next time all, take care and I hope you’re having a great week so far. I’m off out tonight for a blog event! Exciting times!

Petty Bones Club – More New Pokemon Pin Designs*

Good afternoon all! I hope you’re all well and have had a lovely weekend so far. I can’t believe we’re almost into May already! 2019 is definitely whizzing by.

It’s been less than four months and already the talented and lovely Lauren over at Petty Bones Club got in touch with me recently to ask if I wanted to be sent her new pins to talk about on my blog! As regular readers will know I’m a brand rep for Petty Bones Club and have been since August 2018 – which makes it 8 months now! I can’t quite believe it’s been so long already. I love it so much though! I love being a brand rep for such an amazing designer and pin badge company, especially one that designs pin badges I love. In all honesty, I feel like it was down to Petty Bones that really got me into purchasing pin badges. Their Studio Ghibli pins under their old name Ayloulou Apparel were what kick started my love for enamel pin badges and collecting them, so I honestly cannot thank Lauren enough for that. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m so excited to share these new designs from Petty Bones Club today and I’ll even be showing off some old designs. This will make sense when it comes down to it.

Anyhoo, let’s get on with the post! I can’t wait to share these gorgeous designs with you all. Of course all these pin badges were gifted to me for reviewing purposes. Any without * were purchased by myself.

Overall Lauren sent me 5 pin badges with one of the designs being an older design that has finally made it’s way back onto the store.

This pin is the Messenger Bulbasaur* who is one forth of the messenger Pokemon designs that were brought out last summer. The first gifted package I received from Lauren contained two of the other Pokemon designs, which I’ve spoken about on my blog before. Bulbasaur is gorgeous and he did very well sales wise when he first came out. I’m pleased he has returned to the store because he’s just such a cutie. I know so many who have stickers of him, but want pin badges. If you’re one of those people MAKE SURE TO GO AND ORDER HIM NOW before he sells out again!

I grabbed the other two messenger Pokemon designs so I could show them all off together and compare them all. They’re all holding their letters, each in a different way. Bulbasaur is holding his in his mouth, Charmander* in his hand and Squirtle* is happily clutching onto his. I love how happy Bulbasaur looks with his letter and I understand why everyone loves him so much out of the original starter Pokemon. He just looks so happy! The thing I love the most about these three designs together is how they’re all different coloured metals. Bulbasaur is gold, Charmander is rose gold and Squirtle is silver. It works really lovely together and these would work great on a bag or even your favourite jacket or coat.

The last one I need now is the Dragonite design! He’s so cute but sadly he isn’t available to buy anymore so unless he is remade – I won’t be adding him to my collection anytime soon.

The next pin badge is one that has been around for a while and I remember first seeing it on one of Petty Bones Club Kickstarter’s back in July 2018. I remember wanting to back this campaign but I wasn’t really much of a user of the website at the time so never did. This saddens me as I LOVED the Eevee PokeScout design. It did come back out for their other Kickstarter campaign but at the time I wanted the Officer Growlithe enamel pin more – so again I never got chance to pick Eevee up and I doubt I will now.

Part of that PokeScout collection was the Sailor Snorlax* enamel pin. I don’t own any Snorlax pin badges and whilst I don’t know if I’d ever pick one up, I do really love Petty Bones Club take on Snorlax, especially with making it a PokeScout! I don’t think it is something you would expect to see and due to that I love it so much! This is a gold metal too, which I think is the best for this design. Any other metal colour wouldn’t have worked as well.

The next design is the only one with a silver metal which is the Lapras* enamel pin. I feel like I’ve hardly seen any Lapras pins around and this one is adorable! The silver stands out to me straight away as it works so well with the design. The colour palette and Lapras’s face just reminds me of when I was younger and received my own Lapras in Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow. This pin badge will be one I wear throughout the summer for sure! Especially when attending barbecues and drinks with friends.

This is definitely my favourite pin out of the bunch Lauren sent me as it’s one of my favourite Pokemon. This pin is the Ampharos* enamel pin. I remember months ago on the Petty Bones Club Instagram page where she was coming up with ideas for the new Pokemon pins and this was one of them. I loved the concept back then and I LOVE it now it’s in pin form.

Finally we have the last pin of the five I was sent is the Arcanine* enamel pin, which I can only imagine is one of Lauren’s favourite designs seeing as this is her favourite Pokemon. I remember when she was designing it and showing it off via Instagram that she stated he’s her favourite! At least I hope my memory is correct here. ๐Ÿ˜› The Arcanine pin is MASSIVE and due to this the price of it is a little more than the others at ยฃ10. I think this is fair though considering the size of the pin, I’ve tried to compare the size of it to her other pins as well, which I’m sure the pictures show off well. The metal is rose gold which is perfect for this pin badge. I love the size of it as I feel loads of detailing would have been missed out if this pin was smaller.

I put this pin alongside my Officer Growlithe enamel pin as I feel like they work so well together! I’d definitely wear them together for blog events and especially for comic cons.

All of the pins I was sent come with rubber clutches and two backing posts. Apart from the Arcanine pin these all cost ยฃ8 each.

Overall I LOVE all of these pin badge designs from Petty Bones Club and they’re so unique and different, which is what I always love about the store. I especially love how Lauren chooses the best metal colours to match the designs of the Pokemon.

I have to say my favourites out of the five are Bulbasaur and Ampharos. They’re just gorgeous and I honestly cannot wait to wear them around this summer. I plan to visit loads of conventions this year as well as do more geeky adventures so these pins will be perfect for that! ๐Ÿ˜€

You can read my previous posts about all of the pins that both Ayloulou Apparel here and Petty Bones Club have released here and here.

Don’t forget I have a discount code for Petty Bones Club with you can use to bag yourself off a nice 10% off of your order. The code is COFFEE10 which you can also always find on the sidebar of my blog so don’t worry if you ever loose the code, it’s always there. ๐Ÿ™‚
